What do you mean how? Communication to their supporters does not take fucken years. Grow up and stop sucking up to them. They have been offered help by many members yet they never take anyone even if the offer was for nothing in return. They have discord, but allow all members to argue and fight all the time, have streams that happen once a year, same with dev blogs always getting delayed, interviews are done ONLY when pushed by the community and never done because they want to. What they have communicated is things they want to do but never actually get towards doing such as frequent communication. I actually can code, not a game but programs yes. Model no. Can't help out when they don't want FREE help yet are understaffed.

I don't like it when people complain about not getting info when the devs do Q and A's as well as have been giving us more Dev Blogs. Yes, we have been waiting a long time especially the Kick-starter backers. Unless people are the Kick-starter backers then I do not see why people complain because they have not been waiting as long as those guys have been and really those who don't pledge before complaining can't really complain either because they have nothing to lose really; however they can complain if they have waited and actually put money in. No one understands these days that 2 years is not enough for a game in development and I believe it is a minimum of 3 years to expect a game like this and really that is how development is, delays over more delays which is a good thing for the game but can be annoying for the backers because they have helped out early on. If the developers give us everything now about the game, what will there be to look forward to? I don't think there will be something we won't know about the game to look forward to after all and well also I want to look forward to trying everything out, but also not getting all that information now because I want to have hype when the game comes out. I however don't want to know everything about the game and so I have nothing to be excited for when playing the game. This is however my opinion and always will be above and below is a fact which has been seen lately. The more the community complains and asks for more content the more developers give in. The more the developers give in, is how much more the community members ask for more anyways. This is an endless cycle of "Give me more and I will be fine" but once the info has been given, the person asks for more again and won't stop. The more we get the more we want. Communities make games fall apart but also can make games strive. An example of a game falling apart partly by the community is "No Mans Sky": the "NMS" community pushed the developers to the brink which caused the game to not be completed like it was shown off as it would be, it was because the community pushed the devs to give a unfinished game. It also was caused by the publisher because they wanted the game out on a tight deadline, which happened to be that it didn't get finished by in which delayed the game. They still pushed it back too short of what the game needed with the community pushing for a game to be released and that pressure is hard to maintain after enough of it. I just wan the game to release like you guys and I have been waiting a long time like a lot of the community has and I can say that I have seen the developers here improve with PR over the last 6 months more than anything even though they are still a very small team with people working more than 1 job at a time. I hope everyone is happy when the module releases and the advice is if you are not happy with the little info we get then don't pledge until you are satisfied. Pledge if you understand we could get a big delay again but understand why and all the reason it is for a good reason but also if you want to help the devs out. Thank you if you read my ramble and I hope everyone understands. Cheerio and I hope I can answer any questions to the best of my knowledge.

You are an idiot and should go do something stupid to yourself. 1. They did not finish coding in game mechanics, do not spread information that is false. 2. It is not illegal to do something that is a hobby, as the OP stated... Motown does not get paid which he is working FREE so stfu already about this. 3. If you read what I posted after that message you would see that you are the actual reason why people argue. 4. If you look at it in a years prospective no we have not gotten a lot of news because most of it changed due to a new engine and all we have really seen is a few in game screenshots and developmental art. I watched the stream and I enjoyed it, but it was not as they promised which was suppose to stream the progression they are doing such as showing them model cars and so on. They did show a spoiler which was nice and even acknowledged that they know we as a community appreciate seeing any updates. 5. You contradicted yourself from point #2. 6. If you read my other post you would realize to shut your mouth and stop being an idiot. 7. You are an idiot.

OFFCIAL NOTICE OF LUCIOUS TIMES: I, Lucious Times, am officially free from my sentence and ready to tackle my new visions! ( Due to exemplary behavior my sentenced time has lessened [good behavior]) To @Norway174 , thank you! You gave me reasoning and helped me pave way for a better campaign and helped build a better man to help lead the people of Identity Island. To @JoelKeys , I'm back good friend. Please be inclined to look over my new policies so that we may continue our work. Happy to be working with such a great candidate. To @Kaitlyn , I've missed our conversations. It was painful not being able to speak with you, I hope to hear from you soon in hopes of pursuing our conversation further. To @FatherOfTimes , I appreciate you being there for me even when you aren't always sure of what's going on. You really are like a father to me! To @Rumpelstiltskin , I admit we came to know each other at a bumpy time but I still am proud to have had your support. My gratitude be given! To All Supporters, I appreciate you all being there for me! I wouldn't make it without you all. It truly gives me reason to keep improving! As you may have noticed I drastically improved the policies to fit that of the people's benefit versus the government's benefit. I had things confused, I felt that because crime was so evident that the government needed to be strong in order to challenge that crime, but with my new policies the economy itself will aid in crime deterrence. Plus, our FBI and local law enforcement are quite superb. Lucious Times is back and better!!! It's time to shine like The Royal Family we are. While incarcerated, I experienced many characters of people. However, oddly I had respect from the inmates due to my decision to turn myself in. They felt only truly respectable would do such. There were harsh and calm moment on the inside, but I surpassed them all. I and the law are in pursuit of other criminals and plan to truly clean the island of criminology. Please intrigue yourself with images of my incarceration:

(Google translated for those interested) - It says: You need to make the game a million times more interesting than GTA, for this you need to deal more with the strategic component, and not add all varieties of machines. A good example is x-3 prelud Albion and tactics and strategy, trade, everything is there, just need to combine X-3, GTA And Sims and add realism, so that there is no such thing as GTA, all of each other khachat and all the dumb action mindless, the game must require mental abilities, then it will be interesting to play it.

There should be an AI generated daily newspaper that creates standard articles with stock photos for simplicity. The most outstanding event of the day makes the front page. It could be a major bank heist or drug bust. In business news impressive sales or corporate achievements would be covered. The social page will cover any large gatherings of note. It gets delivered to each player in the morning for no fee so everyone can read the paper. If you make the news there will be an option to mount that page in a frame and hang it on your wall! A copy of every paper can be found in the library so you can copy that page for your house should you ever miss that time you were front page news. This will allow people who make the news often to become famous (real life has famous people) or notorious and also be the source for seeing what our government officials are up to. It's also a great natural way to get IDENTITY info to your population and allow players to advertise or even place personal ads in the classified section. Reading this paper will motivate and inspire people and it's contents will be great to talk about with others!

It would be nice to have a ingame stock market. As we have been told there will be corporations in the game, so why don't have a live stock market aswell. That way people can buy and sell into positions in the ingame companies. Would also be a cool thing if there were currencies and comodities to buy on the stock market. This would be very realistic and could give people opportunities too earn a good amount of ingame money fast (or lose!). I also hope that the bank will give people loans and stuff. These things would improve the financial system ingame and give more difference between poor and rich

Gotta agree with Alpha, we have been here for a very long time. I mean on stream he said they know they have been doing poorly and how us as a community appreciate anything we really see so hopefully they throw some stuff our way more often. @LuckyDuck Also Motown does get paid. Make sure you have your facts straight before trying to make a point. I also have nothing against them, I believe this game will be amazing and will come out, but like the majority of backers I believe some more communication between the devs and the community would only benefit everyone.

Hey, you know they admitted they have poor PR ages ago and they have been improving, slowly but still improving. For one Motown the community Manager does not only have 1 Job to do but 3 Jobs. He is a producer, 3D Artist and Community Manager. He prioritises 3D modelling because it will get the game done faster. He also has not been getting paid since September 2016 which is because he said the funding could be used else where e.g. more assets and devs.

B.S. how? Development takes years and if you think they should handle things better why don't you offer to help out? They have a discord, they have streams, they have devblogs, they have interviews, like what more do you want people? The actual game? Because they've communicated quite clearly they don't want it to be a big mess, but a polished release, starting with the Town Square module. They are doing all they can theres nothing "B.S." about that. Can you code? Model? Then help out so they handle things "better".

you don't compare both games. instead you're telling us informations about star citizen, an open world pvp sci fi game.

There will be no such filming cameras in the game due to having performance / being high networking objects. This such thing has been suggested before but, the devs don't want to add such jobs which little to no players will do. This would be good if there were bills like this to pay. This is a good idea. Well there is no specific core mechanic done for this I am sure but players already are making security and PM corps and so that rules this one out. However they don't want people guarding the bank because then it is no fun and that is why it is not player controlled. I hope you find my criticism good and helpful, however keep up the suggestions as these were all good ones but some already have been suggested many times before. Kind Regards, LuckyDuck.

To: Project Lead and Team I was reading all about Identity and I must say not only am I impressed but finally have hope again for the MMORPG world again. I started with MUDD games and progressed to Everquest and have played most since but they have all lacked the captivating quality of freedom to do as you please that is getting harder and harder to find. Your vision from what I understand is unique and in my opinion slated to change this drastically. I heard about you tonight through some of my gaming friends while I was streaming so you are most certainly making waves and becoming known. Please keep up the good work. I noticed where you said to let you know if we had thought of any other types of Corporations that we could think of. I have thought of a few and decided to do as you ask and share them. The first Corporation would be an Entertainment Corp. You could have people shooting film and posting it on forums for the computers in the people residences as well as when you gain higher levels news anchors ever for crimes and ever reporters trying for interviews of the police and possible eye witnesses. The second type of corporation I was thinking of would be the service industry. You hit on this in some parts with the transportation and manufacturing. What about things like the trash service because that could also add quite a bit to the crime and law enforcement areas. if there was evidence to get rid of and the trash with it was already taken then that particular piece o evidence that made the case easier to solve is now gone. Criminals could coordinate their crimes to coincide with the disposal services as well. Another service industry could be utilities. If you want electricity and water you pay your bills and the meter guys have to go from house to house reading meters for their job which makes for more eye witnesses in areas of higher residential crime and gives more jobs to people. Another Corporation would be commercial farmers. If you have food markets I am sure that people need to get their produce and meats from some where. If you put a spoilage time on food goods then there would still be plenty of demand for the large and small farmers. The large just get higher profits for being in a corporation and can get access to better more efficient farming implements. Another type of corporation could be security corporations. The police have the ability to arrest and such but for things like jewelry stores banks and such you can hire security guards to be there to try to protect your assets and they wont get in trouble with the law if they are doing their job when they get in fights or take criminals down. The also gives the law corporations more people to represent. and means the security corporations need the law enforcement to come in and finish the job. These are just a few off hand that I thought of. If they help great, if not thanks for reading the material. Unfortunately I am sorry I am not able to donate to the funding of this project as much as I would like to because as a disabled veteran I have not been able to find gainful employment so I am trying to get a streaming job going. Please don't let this color your opinion of these ideas. I only said this because I don't know if you are able to tell if I have or have not donated and weed out letters read that way. (I have known start up companies that have done this.) I write to you because I think you are doing an amazing job and look forward to finding money and being able to experience the amazing product you are developing. Thank you, Rellikrats1 P.S. I think you guys are the last hope for a good MMORPG

No, I am saying they can't really complain unless they have really pledged but also why should they complain if people who have waited much longer than them and they are being more patient than the ones who come late. Complaining don't/ won't make the game or info come quicker. I am saying don't pledge if you will just complain because of lack of info or delays.
  22. 1 point
So people aren't allowed to complain about waiting because other people have waited longer? That's like not being allowed to complain about losing your finger because some person lost his whole arm.

It doesn't take away from roleplay. It just makes it so you can prove an agreement actually happened to exact terms. Instead of just going by "he said, she said" in a courtroom, you actually have some hard evidence that exactly defines the terms of an agreement.

OFFICIAL NOTICE OF LUCIOUS TIMES: I had an agenda, I was blindsided by my personal desire to rid crime off the streets in a vigilante fashion that it forced me to dwell in illegal activities of gangs and mob families in the Identity community. Due to my actions I have decided to turn myself in under the charges of being an accomplice in illegal activities. I will be serving 14 days in The Identity State Penitentiary. I do this to set an example, crime will not be tolerated! Even if your illegal activities are done in the pursuit of justice. The FBI, more specifically Special Agent Zoey Anderson has been vital in this process to realize my mistakes, and that I need to be dealt my due. She has offered to put in a good word with the District Attorney, in return for my cooperation in the future. The FBI are doing a great service to our nation, and we could not have gotten to where we are today without them. I plan to work more closely with the FBI in the future, to provide a safer home for every citizen in Identity. To the other candidates I say, don't make the same revengeful and hold pride as I have. It is evident we are not all the greatest of men, a self-declared hit-man approached me a few weeks ago with a threat saying "my client (Governor Candidate) demands you shut down your campaign or there will be consequences". I have not been throwing these things in the spotlight, but I will stop fighting crime alone. I will lean on the community, the FBI, and personal passion to pursue those that are havoc. NO MORE VIGILANTES, TO BE A VIGILANTE IS TO BE CRIME POSSESSIVE! @JoelKeys is an honorable candidate and deserves to be seated as Governor over the lands of the UK, once I return from my walk into repentance I aspire to partner with Joel standing as the prime candidate for the American lands. No criminal shall breath fresh air until they have been dealt their dues, even I shall be subject to that! @Kaitlyn I'm sorry I must go away, it is the right thing for me to do in this matter. I enjoyed getting to know you and having the conversations we had. Hopefully you'll visit me in PM, but if you feel as though you don't want to be associated I understand. @FatherOfLoyalty I have come to know you as a great man! A man I wish was truly my father, you have taught me many things and I desire to act on what I have been taught. I know you'll support me in my decision and I thank you for it. @Rumpelstiltskin I don't enjoy us having to greet on these terms, but so be the case. I am very glad to see you vocal in the political world. Even at the start of your adventure you question, give opinion, etc. Very well put young man. Be close with my father while I'm gone will you? He knows all there is to know of The Royal Family and would be proud to grant you that comprehension.

Hey Sjondefries! Good question! Unless it's a private server that requires it, players will not have to apply to join the police force. On Official servers, the process to join the police career is mostly automated. You may have to qualify through a training tutorial to get started, and then again after earning the right to become a detective, but you won't have to worry about talking to any players or staff on Official servers to become a cop. Private servers may choose to manually select their police officers, and will have the option to decide how that process is determined. If they'd like to interview people to qualify, they can.

Identity's development has been moving at a pace we've never experienced in the past. With added full-time programming and art talent, we've been able to produce more content in a shorter time than expected. With all of the base features of Town Square in place, we've now been building up the supporting systems; the menu interfaces, server selection systems, character creation and more are well underway now. You'll get a good preview of the character customization soon! Ridable bicycle; work in progress Some exciting progress is also being seen beyond the Town Square! Our vehicle systems are starting to get fleshed out. We found the integrated Unreal Engine vehicle subsystems to be inadequate for the realism and fidelity we seek, so Identity will run on an entirely rebuilt vehicle physics engine. With this you can expect extremely realistic handling of bicycles, cars, vans, motorcycles, semi-trucks and more. We've got the Twitch Game development is an exciting career that many gamers aspire for. Just a couple of weeks ago we had test run streaming our development live on Twitch. In our first stream, our character artist Miroslav added different eyebrow varieties to Identity character head models. These are some of the eyebrow options you'll be able to choose when creating your characters; get an inside look at the work which goes into even a small detail as this. While the task Miroslav had at the time might not have been the most exciting, we're in the process of setting up a schedule for very regular streams from a variety of development departments. Keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook for stream time announcements. Click the preview below to watch the recorded stream. It runs at just under an hour in duration. Identity's first Dev Stream: Miroslav's Eyebrows You can find our Twitch channel at Twitch.tv/IdentityRPG. Follow us there to get notified when an Identity developer starts streaming! Path to the Town Square Town Square early revision; work in progress A lot of Town Square work has been accomplished since the last dev blog! From interface to animations and more feature polish, the Town Square is shaping up into a genuinely interesting social environment. We've been making everything we can in the environment interactive. If it looks like it would have some sort of purpose in reality, we're making it useful (or at least entertaining) in Identity, too! Grab a newspaper for the latest happenings, toss a coin into the fountain or grab a can of soda from the machine. Visual dynamics have been added as well. Simple things bring immersion to the environment. The clocks on buildings and towers show the real in-game time, the cinema marquee sign shows the movies playing with real times (which can be adjusted by owners of community servers in retail Identity) and more. We're making the Identity environment, and thus that in Town Square, feel alive and interactive. A hotel lobby at night -- John VanderZwet

It depends on the server. On official servers there are no age limits or surveys from what I heard but past crimes and actions will be held accountable for. On private servers it is up to the owner on what happens, he came make it exactly like Altis and have a age limit for all the devs care but it will still have to be somewhat similar to the original intended gameplay. Hope this helped!

Identity Forum Guidelines Last Edit: July 9th, 2018 Participation in the Official Identity forums constitutes agreement to the following guidelines, which apply to posts, profile information, avatars, signatures, private messaging, and any other content on this site and participation in general. The live nature of discussions in this community makes it difficult for staff to catch every violation of these rules. If you believe that someone has violated our User Guidelines, please send a private message to a member of our volunteer moderation team or staff with a link to the content and a brief description of what you believe is wrong. Please do not respond to a violation personally, as you may aggravate the situation and possibly violate our guidelines yourself. Any content that violates our User Guidelines will be removed. Interpretation of our guidelines is at the discretion of the staff. Please do 1. Report violations of the forum rules. Moderators will quickly review reports and make decisions based on the information you provide. 2. Respect others. Showing respect will encourage others to participate in discussion. 3. Like posts, that you feel contribute useful information to a discussion. 4. Read the rules, so that you do not accidentally receive an infraction or ban. 5. Be constructive. Help others by answering questions, and offer feedback to their ideas. 6. Read before posting. Fully Comprehend the topic of discussion and determine what has already been discussed. 7. Use proper grammar and spelling. Read your post before submitting. Spelling mistakes may attract attention away from the discussion. 8. Search for content related to your questions. There’s a good chance that there may already be an answer to what you are looking for! Please don’t 1. Troll. Trolling does not contribute to meaningful discussion. 2. Spam. Spamming clutters the forum and makes it difficult to find original content. 3. Flame, or attack others. Insults do not contribute to discussion, and will be removed. 4. Repost Deleted Content. Content that was deleted was removed for a reason, even if the reason is unclear. 5. Demonstrate or perpetuate toxic behavior. A user is considered toxic if they repeatedly make defamatory, threatening, insulting, or otherwise hateful remarks toward other users or staff. Please keep language civil when expressing your opinions. 6. Advertise websites or services unrelated to Identity. We do not sell advertising space on the Identity forums. 7. Cross Post. Cross-posting makes it difficult for users using the search function to find relevant information, and may be considered spam. 8. Ask for Likes. Likes are given to those for contributing useful information in a discussion. 9. Abuse reports. Reporting content with blank or inaccurate report descriptions will hinder a moderator's capacity to help. Please report content that is in violation of the rules, and not simply because you personally dislike another user. 10. Engage rule violators. You may accidentally violate these rules yourself by responding to others that you feel aren’t following these guidelines. 11. Make low-effort posts. Contribute useful information to the discussion, and avoid going off-topic. 12. Discuss Politics/Religion. These subjects are sensitive and may offend others. (There is a small place for fantasy politics within Identity's ecosystem. The Governor position will be able to tweak small settings within the game world, and must compete against others for power. The political systems within Identity are simplified and do not accurately reflect the processes involved with political discourse in the real world. Players may implicitly take inspiration from existing candidates or parties, but must not show any connections to real world politics through the use of logos/symbols, names (of existing leaders, existing parties, or of those within recent history), or slogans. By affiliating your party with a real world political faction, you are bringing such politics into discussion and grabbing the attention of those who recognize it. Real world politics typically invoke a strong emotional response in some viewers and can lead to vehement conflicts extremely quickly.) 13. Create multiple accounts. Only one account per person is authorized, so forum users can be easily identified. Avoiding a ban may result in further permanent action. 14. Operate a shared account. Sharing an account with another user will make conversation difficult should any of the account operators share a difference in opinion. Conflicting statements will impede our ability to help assist any single user on a shared account. Due to this, we request that each account is operated by a single, separate user. 15. Create forum posts that mention specific users in the title. Creating a new topic with the title specifically mentioning another user isn’t conducive to group discussion, especially if the targeted user isn’t comfortable responding in an open format. (For example, don’t make posts like “@usernamehere, why is x and not y?”) If you’re asking a question directly to another user, please do so using the inbox function on the forums. 16. Post Personal Information, or post links containing personal information. Sharing information about others can be harmful to their real-life. 17. Use forum features in unintended ways. Asking for likes, or making a game that incorporates the like/follow buttons artificially inflates user forum stats, making it difficult for other users to determine which content or user is contributing popular content to the site. 18. Discuss Moderator or Administrator actions Publicly. There are often reasons why a decision is made by a moderator or administrator that may be unclear to outside-parties, and off-topic discussion about an admin or moderator decision may be disruptive to a conversation. We politely ask that you trust and respect decisions made by staff. If you have an issue with a specific staff member, please report the matter to a Community Manager. 19. Impersonate Asylum Entertainment Staff or Moderators. When users seek assistance from moderators or Asylum staff, they shouldn't need to worry about encountering the possibility of dealing with an impostor. Always heed the official titles for staff roles on both the forums and discord to help avoid confusion. 20. Intentionally Spread False Information. Spreading rumors you know are falsified and portraying them as fact will only complicate Identity's development and serves to derail the actual constructive criticism offered by other users. Even accidentally giving out false information can be dangerous, so please ask a staff member or reference official statements (Dev Blogs for example). 21. Post or link to illegal, dangerous, offensive or NSFW content. Do not engage in activities that include (but are not limited to) the sharing of sexually explicit content, piracy, malicious code execution (viruses, malware, spyware etc.), gore. Please keep posts pertaining to the M-rated content in Identity reasonable. 22. Create or operate an account with the intention of solely boosting or supporting another user's reputation, poll votes, or opinions. We ask that all users contribute to the forums in ways that don't simply perpetuate someone else's particular viewpoint or account statistics. ***Moderators and staff have the final say on all matters.
