We are pleased to inform you that our community has the exclusive opportunity to ask questions to the developers of Identity. Motown, the Community Manager and 3D Artist for Identity, has agreed to face the questions of the Second Identity Community. At first, this Q&A was for our Identity community called "Second Identity", a German speaking community for the game. But we felt that at this stage of development many people should have access to the information we will get through this Q&A. So we will also give you guys from around the world the opportunity to ask questions to the developers. The Q&A will be available in English and German afterwards. We need your help, of course! Mainly in form of your questions Do you have questions to the developers? Questions about specific features? Questions about the vehicles or anything else? You can send us the questions via a form we have created for you. How will it work? The deadline for submitting your questions is the 15th of May 2017 at 10 PM. We will choose the best questions and then ask them Motown. As soon as the questions are answered, we will publish the Q&A with Motown on our Website in German and English. We ask you, however, to ask meaningful questions. Questions like "When will Town Square module be released?" are counterproductive. We are glad that we have this opportunity and are looking forward to your questions! Please be aware that "Second Identity" is a German speaking Identity community. We created the form for submitting questions entirely for the international Identity Fans. Feel free to register on our website if you are German speaking, but don't register there if you are not German speaking or just want to insult our community. Thank you! Link to the English Article on our website (If you are on our website, you are reading this article right now): https://secondidentity.net/wcf/index.php?article/19-english-ask-the-devs-exclusive-q-a-with-the-identity-developers/ Link to the form where you can submit your questions: https://secondidentity.net/wcf/index.php?qa---submit-your-question/ If you have an questions to this, feel free to ask them here best wishes, Woritmor

Personally, I'm going to explore and try to talk to a lot of people to discuss ideas and possible partnerships when the beta/full game releases!

I myself am 33 (34 soon), and I honestly hope there's an option for more mature players. I'm not saying that younger players are necessarily immature, though I'm really trying hard to get away from the GTA kill-everything-that-moves mentality that is popular with the younger generation. I'm just hoping to find a more laid back, immersive and RP centric community.

Again, sorry for the long response. I work long hours on the weekend. I both agree with these responses. Well said. In my honest opinion I think both of you know what the fuck you are talking about. I truly think I have said to much and have been beaten by the true extent of your superior dialect in this pleasant conversation. Carry on forth with your organization, I wish you the best of luck.

Identity's development has been moving at a pace we've never experienced in the past. With added full-time programming and art talent, we've been able to produce more content in a shorter time than expected. With all of the base features of Town Square in place, we've now been building up the supporting systems; the menu interfaces, server selection systems, character creation and more are well underway now. You'll get a good preview of the character customization soon! Ridable bicycle; work in progress Some exciting progress is also being seen beyond the Town Square! Our vehicle systems are starting to get fleshed out. We found the integrated Unreal Engine vehicle subsystems to be inadequate for the realism and fidelity we seek, so Identity will run on an entirely rebuilt vehicle physics engine. With this you can expect extremely realistic handling of bicycles, cars, vans, motorcycles, semi-trucks and more. We've got the Twitch Game development is an exciting career that many gamers aspire for. Just a couple of weeks ago we had test run streaming our development live on Twitch. In our first stream, our character artist Miroslav added different eyebrow varieties to Identity character head models. These are some of the eyebrow options you'll be able to choose when creating your characters; get an inside look at the work which goes into even a small detail as this. While the task Miroslav had at the time might not have been the most exciting, we're in the process of setting up a schedule for very regular streams from a variety of development departments. Keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook for stream time announcements. Click the preview below to watch the recorded stream. It runs at just under an hour in duration. Identity's first Dev Stream: Miroslav's Eyebrows You can find our Twitch channel at Twitch.tv/IdentityRPG. Follow us there to get notified when an Identity developer starts streaming! Path to the Town Square Town Square early revision; work in progress A lot of Town Square work has been accomplished since the last dev blog! From interface to animations and more feature polish, the Town Square is shaping up into a genuinely interesting social environment. We've been making everything we can in the environment interactive. If it looks like it would have some sort of purpose in reality, we're making it useful (or at least entertaining) in Identity, too! Grab a newspaper for the latest happenings, toss a coin into the fountain or grab a can of soda from the machine. Visual dynamics have been added as well. Simple things bring immersion to the environment. The clocks on buildings and towers show the real in-game time, the cinema marquee sign shows the movies playing with real times (which can be adjusted by owners of community servers in retail Identity) and more. We're making the Identity environment, and thus that in Town Square, feel alive and interactive. A hotel lobby at night -- John VanderZwet

Will the car building and tuning be completely unguided like in My Summer Car or will it be easier, more guided car mechanics and tuning, with a dyno and what not, like in Car Mechanic Simulator? What do you guys thing it should be?

My top 5 biggest annoyances in any multilayer role play game. The Russian - people who do a bad Russian accent to seem more menacing. The mute - people who have no mic in 2017, but there character 'has no voice anyway' so it's alright. (How many people have you EVER met that are mute) The mass murderer / hardened military person - the guy who goes round killing everyone, then tries to role play it out, because they think it's fun to ruin everyone else's experience. These people are always dripping in camo clothing and have had world class gun training (how realistic). The drug dealer - fair enough, these role play games are generally based around drug smuggling and making money illigally (I think identity is no exception) but this character is always VERY overplayed. I've never, EVER met a drug dealer IRL, but hey, maybe I live on the nice side of town? God mode - the players who turn every situation around (using role play, usually text chat) to benefit their own character. These people never seem to die or get injured because they always have a trick up there sleeve like "picks lock and escapes unharmed". Personally, if the interaction is fun / funny / interesting, and I end up dieing to good role play, it's more fun than surviving through shoddy workarounds. On the whole, these games or servers are normally ruined by people with a lack of imagination. Poor imagination is ok! But using poor role play on top of that becomes very frustrating for other people. That's why I like role play on Twitch, it's not that server rules protect from bad experiences, it's that the level of quality role play is much higher because there is an audience. I'm not salty, im just bored of seeing huge potential ruined by unrealistic encounters and interactions. Discuss?

I'm not sure exactly how many of you would be interested in this sort of thing, but once the full game releases, i would love to set up car meets and meet a ton of you all. I am huge into cars and cant wait to see how the devs have in store for us customization wise and i cant wait to see what you all do with your cars in game. I dont really care what kind of car you drive, muscle, import, truck, offroad, beater, bike, i just want a large social gathering of like minded people where we can all just sort of hang out and check out each others cars and get to know each other. I do plan on playing this with a good friend of mine but he isnt into cars like i am. Age doesnt really matter to me either as long as we're all respectful of each others cars and mature about everything. Sure the RP scenarios will be there for rivalries and races, but in all, i want for there to be a group of people who get to know each other and develop a true friendship all because we decided to go hang out with our cars. I guess, i kind of want to know you guy's thoughts on this. Would it be something that many of you would be interested in? Would anyone care to join me in opening a shop? Let me know your thoughts and hopefully we can continue to develop friendships starting here. See ya guys around! Jack Leyhe *EDIT* Devonor makes a good point. If we have enough people, would you guys be interested in me creating a steam group for the meets so everyone is notified of when and where? Seems like a good idea. I would also love to set up an actual car group in game with a name and logo for those interested to put on their cars (If thats something that we can do) Let me know, glad to see some interest in this. *EDIT 2* Discord Link here------> https://discord.gg/Pt9KcHP

I'm not too certain on bail, but there is trials so it may be a possibility. But, I do doubt it because the developers made it sound like once you get imprisoned you can request a trial if you have a lot of jail time. Once you request a trial, random citizens are requested for jury duty immediately.

Ooh! I was asking myself this question, too! I want to be a musician once I finish school (or if I plan to drop out) and I was thinking that I should try to make myself in the game once it is released. ^^ I was thinking maybe the devs could allow for people to make music using the computer or maybe even allowing them to upload their own songs! Though, my ideas suck. : P

If it is supposed to focus on realism it should considering it reflects an American law system and plea deals essentially handle 80% of violent crimes like murder specifically. As it stands it seems that many of the interactions like this aren't supposed to be handled by the game but rather the players. So in that case I'd imagine it'd be between attorneys then like in real life the judge would accept or revise it.

ok so im a firefighter in real life in myrtle beach and excited about turtle beach sense its modeled after my town. here are some things i think firefighters should be able to do if a dev reads this i hope this gives some cool ideas about things we could do. 1 go to entrapment's, a entrapment is basically a car has become unable to let the passenger out (door gets jammed) 2 in Forrest fires allow players to have special forestry vehicles, exe... a brush fire i was at a while ago the Brush fire team came in with a backhoe and started knocking down trees around the fire to stop the spread 3 allow building fires and have the ai shop keeps act as victims where firefighters can get them out 4 allow the firefighters to vote in station on things like customization colors of the station and truck colors, or just let highest ranking firefighter customize the fire station 5 have a realistic action to putting wrong things on fire, like if there is a grece fire and the firefighter puts water on it make it get bigger and more spread, 6 allow fire rescue to request police to accidents for traffic control and go to fires to help block off areas i have a ton more but dont want to fill this up with pointless other things oh i dont know if i broke any rules on here this is my first post so if i did my apology

Hmm. Well we do dabble in illegal racing. Buy ins of over 500 dollars sometimes. So yes, I will make a slow and steady income with my club. Even if I decide no to be a radio show host (which is my current occupation I forgot to say, street racing is on the side) and open a brokerage firm, and do some "illegal" things. I will definitely locate you and your party and use a parties defendant if I make it to a court of law.

You will be able to purchase property that you may either sell again, or you may rent out. As for building, I do not believe so since they have enough housing for whole servers to have a place of residence. But, the developers could always end up liking your idea and include it. Who knows, maybe it's planned!

Meet new people, explorer a bit and think on what im going to do ingame once more is released!
  26. 1 point
I really don't know how they are going to go about adding things. It may be server dependent like maybe a private server will have parties. I don't think anybody knows except for the developers so far. They did talk about doing things around the holidays so we can assume there may be holiday themed events/parties.

Make sure to buy it soon! If you buy the $30+ package you can get into the modules and meet people very soon, and then the beta! The game isn't set to be at full release until end of 2017 - early 2018. If you don't care for that, atleast get the $15 citizen package in the shop, as the game will cost $45 I believe at a later date.

Hey welcome! I think it will definitely be better than GTA! (Maybe because I got perm banned on it for no reason...) Anyway, make sure to pledge so I can meet you soon when the first module is released!
  29. 1 point
I have a good Idea, Module 1 item can be a in-game painting of the "Town Square", Module 2 item can be the s.w.a.t. module picture on a T-Shirt and the 3rd one can be like a Car trophy ornament thing for module 3. The beta can be a Map of the island as a poster.

DATE POSTED: March 24th, 2017 Big changes for a bigger world! What a crazy time for the Identity development team over here at Asylum! We've been running all over the place for conferences and expos this month, including both GDC and PAX East, where we met all sorts of new talent and potential technology partners. We've unfortunately had to push back the release of the Town Square module from our original Q1 2017 release with all of the big developments here, but most systems are in place and it's not far off! The biggest and most exciting news we're officially announcing today is a new partnership with Improbable, the creators of SpatialOS! The Identity team has been testing the waters with SpatialOS for a couple of months now and we're incredibly excited about what it's going to mean for Identity. Identity can now be what we all hoped it would be, a true MMORPG in scale. SpatialOS is going to power Identity behind the scenes, allowing absolutely enormous scale for our world and the people playing in it. While we had originally hoped to be able to get 300 people into our servers with decent performance, with just a tiny bit more effort we're going to be able to expand that as far as the game needs. Instead of 300 players in a single server, we could now potentially have thousands. The size of our servers are now going to be set based on what we feel is ideal for a fun and immersive environment and we're not limited technically like we were expecting in the past. It opens more doors than simply the number of players on a server, too. With these changes we can now afford to have a more dynamic and interactive world. We've gained some freedom in manipulating the world and we can create features which we never imagined possible in a game of Identity's scale. This is all extremely exciting for the team. This technology is a scope-changer and Identity is going to be far better for it. Not only will our world grow, not only will the population be denser, but you'll even be able to leave your mark in many new ways. Development charging forward Concept art for Town Square art gallery and library, featuring player content We're working and expanding at an incredible rate. All key gameplay features for Town Square are now functional as we add polish and work to support SpatialOS in Identity. The development team has expanded with terrific new talent: Antoine joins Identity's 3D art team, Cody comes on board as a new systems and gameplay programmer and Liam comes in as our first dedicated web developer. Antoine and Cody both bring experience in their field to hasten development for Town Square and Identity as a whole. Liam's talents mean exciting new features on our website will be popping up soon. We've had plenty planned for our website for some time but haven't had the resources to bring these to you, until now.

I am on the fence about sex, I really am. It’s something that would be nice to have for those that enjoy watching their characters hump around, but it’s something I’d never use. I often find myself skipping over sex scenes in games and movies because it’s just always done so poorly. The reason why I want it is because sex is a realistic approach and is an integral thing to life. I want sex because I want nudity. I want my character to actually have a penis and not some blur, assuming I can, when I go and urinate. I want my character to need to go to the bathroom and I can either deny him or take him. If I want him to wet himself, he will. This is something that is forgotten in games that are meant to simulate reality. No one has a bladder. No one needs food or sleep or anything. I don’t want this game to be another standing simulator like Second Life, nor do I want it to become a game where teens come just to watch their characters have sex. Meeting strangers in the bathroom while downtown is an experience. An experience I didn’t want to miss because no one urinates. Back on topic. Adding sex would cause the game to be removed from Twitch, YouTube, and a lot more platforms of the likes. This will hit sales and potential players too hard. Even adding in a penis or vagina would do the same and I am so torn. Locking these features behind an age requirement is pointless, same with a credit card as children can take their parents credit cards. Verifying a credit card could be one way, but I just cannot see sex and nudity working well in any favour. I rambled, as per usual.

I'm pretty sure he was joking around, regardless there won't be any "children" in Identity. Being a serial killer is a bit of a touchy subject because your very soul purpose for killing innocent Citizen's would be as simple as it just being what you do; In that case, anyone can kill anyone randomly for little to no reason and claim to just be a "serial killer". Generally speaking, it'll easily be met with a lot of controversy. This might however be an interesting "community event" under special circumstances, people could be notified of the serial killer and his motives providing a state wide bounty hunt for the alleged killers capture. It would indeed provide interesting role-play for detectives to play out, I'd personally like to see that happening under special circumstances. This however likely won't be an "event" on any of the official Identity server's. In my opinion, it's poor character development and likely will not be permitted on just any community. Maybe however you'll find a community that's okay with this, to a degree. Maybe. In that case however, don't expect good overall role-play.

What's up with people and voice changers, like unless u a squeaker use your own voice imo.
  39. 1 point
With voice chat, there is a proximity and so unless you use a mic then at a big distance people won't hear you. I know if you are talking behind a door and it is a closed one then the sound will be quieter and also muffled for the other person e.g. objects affect sound... Text chat will likely be a local and like ooc chat, but not sure.

Or maybe you can do sex the same way that other games do, like GTA 5 or even sims, no nudity, just the action (hidden), not some really "woah" thing but still and it's allowed on Youtube.

Howdy! My name is Josh, but when it comes to gaming, I am more famously known as Killswitch. I have been playing video games ever since I was a young. I originated from console gaming, went to PC, back to console, then back to the PC master race after college. I dabble in all sorts of games but find the MMORPGs, MOBAs, and FPS games to be the most entertaining. I am from North Dakota and attended North Dakota State University where I got my Bachelors of Science. I am currently a Chemist in the area of Water Treatment, however I am going to go back to college to pursue a degree in Computer Science in the fall. I, like many others here, have met most of these young chaps through Asylum's Altis Life Server where I am an Administrator as well. Other additional hobbies would be sports, hunting, fishing, music, movies, and of course hanging out with friends. If you have any questions or need help, don't hesitate to message me.

Greetings All! I will preface this by saying that my username is pronounced "Goo-Gee." I have heard a lot of different variations of it and I hope this will prevent any confusion! My actual name is Evan and I am a sophomore studying to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. I am originally from Florida, the warm and sunny state where all you bizarre news stories originate. I came to know all of these amazing people through being an administrator on Asylum's Arma Life server since April 2014. My interests are mainly in the relationship between technology and law, which I hope to pursue after I finish my undergraduate education. I also am working to become fluent in Spanish, which I hope will be complete after I complete my abroad studies in Barcelona. In addition to gaming, I also enjoy watching and playing soccer, rowing, programming (Web Development, Java, C, Python), videography, and much more! Feel free to message with help regarding Identity or the Gaming-Aslyum ARMA Life servers.

Hey everyone, I'm Brendan, I'm currently a senior in high school taking a programming class and 3D modeling course with high hopes to go into the gaming industry in the future. I've been gaming ever since I was about 5 or 6. I've always loved video games and the world that it put you in. By the age of 13 I bought my first PC and gamed on it for about 2 years, After working part-time I save up money and built my new Gaming PC which is what I use now. After switching to PC I will never go back to consoles! Once I built that computer I installed all my software for 3D modeling and have been creating different projects to store in a portfolios for future job applications, by late 2016 I hope to apply for an internship at Gearbox Software (Creators of Borderlands) to improve my knowledge of the gaming industry. Thanks for checking out my introduction and I hope to see you guys around!

Nice to meet you all. I'm Matt, also known as Dysto, I guess that's my sort of online alias. I'm a Second Year University Student in the UK who loves to get involved in online communities especially when it allows me to work around a great group of people and a great product. I started out running my own forums several years ago along with a friend, I then moved into the journalistic space acting as a freelance writer for a period of time. More recently I help test two GRID games at Codemasters being credited for my role in the community there, before stumbling onto Identity. If you have any questions or queries feel free to come and discuss it with me. You can also catch me at @Dysto on Twitter. I'll see you guys around, lets make Identity the next big thing.

Hello citizens! I'm Motown, and I'm Identity's Community Manager, the person in charge of delivering all of your important ideas and messages to Identity's development team! What's special about my role here is that I'm not just your eyes and ears, I'm also one-half of the founding team for Identity! John Vanderzwet and I set out together to make Identity a reality, and have been involved in every aspect of Identity's development since the very start. That means, through me (and our volunteer moderator staff), you have direct access to the very top of our family tree, and we can influence the design and development of Identity together! You won't get that sort of treatment from many industry CM's! So, If you have ideas that you feel will expand and define Identity for years to come, let me know, and I will make sure it hits the right ears. What a relief it has been to know that so many people have been waiting for a game like Identity for so long. I couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to be the liaison that will connect you with the world of Identity and the wonderful people who make it what it is! We strongly feel that we have a winning formula, and the deepest conviction that we may revolutionize the MMORPG genre with your support! We're going to do a lot of great things together, so it's only fair that you know a little bit about me first! My name is Sean, I'm 27 years old. My best friend is my boss and co-worker, John Vanderzet. I grew up all over the United States where I've developed the hyperactive, happy, and unbiased personality you will come to know me for! I call Ontario, Canada my temporary home while I work on Identity as your Community Manager, interim Art Director and 3D prop artist. I went to college for Video Game Design & Production, but my true passion is interacting with people! I've been a forum moderator for many large and well-known online gaming communities, including a default subreddit of 8 million subscribers on Reddit.com, a volunteer guide of the Followers of Asura in "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures", an event organizer in "Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa" (Big RG fan btw!), the only English forum moderator of a German FPS called "Parabellum" (Google Translate ftw!), and forum moderator for "Planetside 1", "GamersFirst", "Mortal Online", and a few others I can't even remember, for varying lengths of time! Yep, I get around! But now it's time I get to know a little bit about you too. Create a new topic in this forum, and introduce yourself! We want to know exactly what personalities come out of the the deep, dark, depths of the internet to share our passion for Identity! But be nice!
