4 pointsCould you all stop posting "Thanks for x amount of views!" on your thread, it is a desperate attempt to become relevant. I don't even think it's allowed. Views don't mean anything, you could refresh your page enough times to get 1000 views. Stop it. It's unfair on us people who actually had people commenting on our threads keeping it at the top, stop desperately cheating for more replies and a higher vote counter.

2 pointsThe Gentleman's Club Est.1863 The Gentleman's Club is a social club for upper-class citizens of Identity. We aim to have a subsided club for the rich citizens of the island for us to get together and engage in activities as one. PLEASE NOTE: This is in no way a gang and will never involve illegal activities. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ranks The rank structure of the club is simple and easy. The Chairman is the highest rank of the club and is the leader of the club. The role of the chairman is to arrange meetings and to make sure that all costs for the clubhouse and other private properties are met. The Vice Chairman is the second highest rank within the club. The role of the vice chairman is much like the role of the chairman. They will have control over the club whilst the chairman is not present and will also suggest new club rules and updates as well as help arranging evens for the club. The Chairmans Secretary helps the Chairman in making sure that all bills are paid on time and arranges meetings for the Chairman and Vice Chairman. They work very closely with the Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Baron is in charge of anything money. They are in charge of the cashflow into the club and ensure that the money is handled well before being distributed between assets that need to be paid such as the club house and our Knights. The Duke is last staff rank of the club. The role of the duke is to observe and help run club events. They will be present at every club event to see that they running smoothly and that everyone is following the rules. They are also in charge of land and property ownership and maintains our private land for a personal use. A Man of Honor is a Gentleman who has shown their worth to the club by being in for a certain amount of time and by helping to fund the club. These members should be given the utmost respect for their contribution to the club. An Esteemed Gentleman is a slight rank up from Gentleman. They have shown their worth to the club and can now gain access to the club house without invitation from a superior. The Gentleman of the club is the standard rank for those that have paid their way into the club. From this rank you can get involved in club events as well as pass time at our private clubhouse. You must be provided with an invitation to the clubhouse before entering. Crusaders are a rank up from Knights. They are a senior Knight who has taken the role of leading the Knights and ensuring they are doing their job correctly and receive the proper training. Within our newly founded Crusaders Division you can find the Knights. These are the specially trained guards of The Gentleman's Club club house and vault. No one gets past these brave men without the proper authority and they assure that no one gets to places they arent supposed to be. They are put through rigorous training and are generally sought out from military and special forces backgrounds due to their discipline and trust. The Club Mechanic maintains all club members vehicles in a private garage on site and ensures they are in tip top shape before their next use. An Associate of the club is someone who is a friend of the club. Someone who holds this rank gives them limited access to the clubhouse although they will not be allowed to join in on club events or meetings. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Events/Activites The club will get involved in various activities, all of which are private events for the club. Some of these events are: - Hunting - Pool - Socialising - Darts - Smoking Pipes - Etc. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Shared Vault An idea that i would like to implement into The Gentleman's Club is a shared vault. This vault will allow players to deposit and withdraw money from a shared account that we can all put money into. We can add a new rank known as The Accountant and have him set up the account and record how much is deposited and withdrawn by each member. Of course there will be rules on this as we dont want people taking out everything but it means that people can access money if they need a little extra to buy a better suit or if we need to use some to pay for the rent. Gentlemen, let me know what you think of this before we make it official. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Admission To become a Gentleman first you must have over a certain amount of money in your bank account (TBD). After, you must pay an admission fee (TBD). From there, you will become a Gentleman and will have access to our clubhouse and events. PLEASE NOTE: This is a mens only club, however, if enough female characters would like to request to join, a new female-only wing will be added. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Members [ Member Count = 27 ] The Gentleman's Club The Gentleman's Club Constitution [@Herzog] - Chairman [@AndrewDonaldson] - Vice Chairman [@GeneSmith] - [Baron] [@Fakeout] - Man of Honor [@Berq] - Esteemed Gentleman [@Rem] - Esteemed Gentleman [@Josearaujo] - Esteemed Gentleman [@DanTheMan007] - Esteemed Gentleman [@dragon_12dk] - Esteemed Gentleman [@SonsofAsgard] - Esteemed Gentleman [@Joel_is_online] - Esteemed Gentleman [@Dream] - Esteemed Gentleman [@JoelKeys] - Esteemed Gentleman [@KingBen1223] - Esteemed Gentleman [@BioHaze] - Esteemed Gentleman [@White_Death] - Esteemed Gentleman [@dolore] - Esteemed Gentleman [@Capped] - Esteemed Gentleman [@Shadow765] - Esteemed Gentleman [@ForestCayden] - Esteemed Gentleman ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crusaders Division (Security) Security SOP [@Indoorseeker] - Head of Security [@slovaceck] - Internal Affairs [@Hanshi-Toshiro] - Drill Instructor [@Scottv10] - Crusader [@Alpha] - Knight [@QuannTann] - Knight [@DROSE] - Knight _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Winstons Tailors All members of the club receive a discount on all purchases at the newly opened tailors, Winstons. 2 pointsI want to open multiple bars and clubs for people to come hang out at when they are not at work or fighting crime. Or committing crime. Haha.I want a bar that bands can show off their talent. Another bar where comedians where can put on a show for the people. Maybe a country bar for the country folk to wet their whistle after a long day at the farm. Then the night clubs. I want a night club that I can hire the best Djs around to spin beats that keeps the party going. A place that people can get their groove on. Get drunk and bust out on the dance floor. Not to mention to BEST part about all of my establishments. In all of my bars and clubs there will be NO LAST CALL. When my doors open, the party will never stop.

1 pointToday we have launched the new Identity website, bringing you the most up-to-date information available on Identity game features, media and development news. This website is still temporary while a studio of web-ninjas completes our new epic website, but you'll now find much more regular updates here at IdentityRPG.com. Be sure to check out our DevTracker for all the latest from our community manager, Motown. Motown answers questions on social media and these forums every day, so it's the best place to be to find the latest tidbits of information on Identity. We'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions for the Identity website!

1 pointHello everyone! Some of you might remember that I had a thread on the old forum with an Imgur album containing all pictures posted by the developers on Twitter and Facebook. I just wanted to let you all know, both those who might have seen it but had forgot about it, aswell as new people who found it just now that it still exists and is updated as soon as a new picture is released. You can access it here, feel free to use it (or not use it) however you like. Take care!

1 pointHas anyone thought of casino? Be there to have fun and maybe get rich? Working there or another place to rob?
-
1 pointI know it's a bit early, but I'm creating this thread as like a "Get started" type of thing for anyone that wishes to join a community. If you wish to have your server added to this list, reply below with the form and I'll update this. I will also be checking these communities periodically to make sure this list is of active communities. Server Name: Server Type (Heavy RP etc): Whitelist?: Website: Note: If you do not yet have a website, put TBU.

1 pointI'm brand new to these forums. However, I'm not brand new to life. I have opinions and ideas that can make the economy more prosperous. I won't be sharing those ideas today, however, I will be giving my opinions on Liberalism and Progressives. Now, as amazing as fighting for equality and equal rights is in real life. That simply won't matter in Identity. I believe that everyone will be treated equally despite of their race. We are a mature community who understands one other. Either way, race will be irrelevant in Identity. It'd be too dangerous for any member to mistreat someone else because of the wide spread popularity of crime in Identity. I think many people will try find powerful allies and in general discrimination in gender, race or religion will not exist. I'd like to hear what any liberal or progressive parties/people think? Do you think these ideals will be relevant in Identity?
-
1 pointHi everyone, I would like to know what happens when you get arrested. When you go to jail how long does it take to get back on the street with out breaking out? I realize that it depends on the crime, but in real life you go to jail for years in the game will you go for the same time and the days go quicker or will the time be just a few days? Thanks!

1 pointI'm going to be on the road pretty much 90% of the time because I'm a transporter. Anyone know if there will be motorways and what are the speed limits.
-
1 pointI would love to see your concept images! do you mind posting the link to the post where you posted your images?
-
1 pointI agree, I believe the progressive way of thinking works in real life but there will be just no reason to use it in Identity.

1 pointHey there @Odiggitydog, please use the search function in the top right of the screen before asking questions as this has been answered before. Money will be realistic to the US dollar. You will be able to pay someone, no word on a banking system yet. You will probably just move the money into a savings account on your smartphone.
-
1 pointSince cars will be the last bit of the development process there isn't much to say about them, but they won't be like ArmA's, it will be more responsive and comfortable.
-
1 pointA chief of police I think should maybe be the first one to climb the ladder the quickest, elected sounds good but government elected sounds more like the system of things so possibly the latter. I think a forensic department is vital as it would be really great to brush for prints and find the crooks through searching prior arrests data-base together with licence plates and last known address and places they commonly frequent. A real incentive to never get arrested or always wear gloves.
-
1 pointI already answered above, I said pretty much that the modules are standalone parts of the game and so yes they will be combined for beta, but they are not the whole game combined.

1 pointI see all your questions have been answered so next time please use the search bar located in the top right before posting as many of these questions have been answered before, thanks!
-
1 point@Alpha be more specific: 1. The modules (i assume) are small standalone parts of the game. PS: Beta will be pretty much the full game for stress testing. 2. The servers are to be aimed at 300 slots per server and so I would say fairly large. 3. Late 2017/ Early 2018 4. There is no Alpha. Module 1 is a social (Town Square) module and so no, Module 2 we be the s.w.a.t. module and so i am sure you can. and the 3rd module is the racing module.

1 pointChickenshit, dont worry. This is where it ends. Lets leave Winny and his club alone gentlemen. Until we see him on the streets of Roseport that is. Ciao good sir.

1 pointHere gents' have a look for yourself. As you can see, there is a long single road leading from what is assumed to be Roseport to Ash Hill then loops back around. So as far as I could assume, this is probably a 'Highway' or 'Motorway'. However, ya'll can make your own assumptions. Also, this is only 'concept art' for the real map, so things could change!

1 point@Asoinyth In other words, The 1st module will be out until beta even after the second module(s.w.a.t. module) releases and these 2 module's will be out and still playable when the 3rd module (racing module) releases until beta. When beta releases they will close because these 3 modules makes up part of the game so beta includes pretty much the full game and is for stress testing to make sure the game is optimised, and seeing if servers can handle up to 300 players and also more.

1 pointMoney has been confirmed to be realistic to the USD. When you first start your character you will have a hotel room as a temporary place to stay until you are able to purchase a house or apartment.
-
1 pointI think just having a large medical fee depending on what they did to you and some sort of recovery period from your injuries. That way you could simply just have a lot of close encounters with death rather than actually dieing.

1 pointGreetings @Herzog, First of all, I would like to express my interest in joining "The Gentleman's Club." Second, I am highly impressed with your organization and would like to be so bold as to offer my input and suggestions as in real life I am a corrections officer and I am the current elected treasurer on the board of the corrections association where I work. Further, I would like to offer my services if you find the need for them. As I said I am currently the treasurer on the board of the corrections association I am a member of currently and I offer that as experience in addition to what I will share below. I have observed that you have organized "The Gentleman's Club" similar to an association. Chairman is comparable to the position of President in an association. Vice Chairman is comparable to the position of Vice President in an association. Secretary is comparable to the position of Secretary and Treasurer in an association. Baron is comparable to the position of Secretary and Treasurer in an association. Duke is comparable to an extra position of Board Member. Your additional titles are all comparable to the position of Association Membership. All positions on our board are positions that our Association Membership nominate and elect to be on the Association Board. The purpose of our association is to collect membership dues from our membership of officers monthly. A portion of those funds is then used to pay our Union dues. Our bank account grows because we collect dues that are more than our Union requirements. This allows us to pay for different events and functions that the Association hosts for its membership. Another purpose of the Association Board is to represent membership in cooperation with our union on matters of grievance, discipline, and other concerns. Our Board Members consist of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The President hosts all meetings and calls all meetings to order and is the first in charge and the Primary representative of the Association. The Vice President is the second in charge and would substitute the role of President when the President is unavailable. The Treasurer maintains the financial account of the Association and records all income, expenses, and costs. The Secretary maintains written record of all meetings, occurrences, events, and happenings that involve the Association. The Board Members operate based on the Association Constitution and Bylaws. The Constitution and Bylaws are proposed and created with the involvement of the Association Board and Membership using a voting system. An example of what the Constitution and Bylaws help facilitate is rules for how to operate, what constitutes a member, the definition and duties of board members, what is required for an official meeting, when and how often meetings occur annually, etc. For example, you include in your post that members will need to maintain a To Be Determined amount of money in their bank accounts in order to be eligible for "The Gentleman's Club." Something like that could be a provision within the Constitution and Bylaws and be voted on by the whole membership. Further, let me suggest to you this: "The Gentleman's Club" could receive a lot of funds by members donating any amount they want, but I would also recommend that be one option. I would also have a membership fee and you could make this a minimal amount of money or set it higher if you wish... it would be something the whole membership could vote on it even if established by a Constitution and Bylaws. And you can implement record of dues so when the game comes out the membership you have established prior to the games release would know what they owe to that date and if you have serious and loyal members they will be happy to pay what has so far accrued for being allowed an "early" membership status which includes the discount if you wish and members that don't follow through with the commitment would then be kicked out of the club when the game starts and don't follow through with paying towards their membership. Example: Membership dues are set at $50.00 and start on the date a potential member expresses interest in joining the club. Membership dues are established to be recurrent monthly. So every month each member would deposit $50.00 into the Club's Financial Account. If you have 25 members pay $50.00 each month for 12 months that would be: $1,250 per month and $15,000 a year if you had 25 members paying membership dues each month for 12 months. The Constitution and Bylaws could establish what the collected funds for the Association could be authorized to be used for. Examples that Funds could be used for are: Perks and Entitlements. (Club House Access, etc) Legal representation for members. Investment opportunities. Entrepreneurial Investments. Events and Functions. (Food & Drinks, Unexpected expenses) Official Association Obligations The possibilities are potentially endless and everyone gets sit back, relax, and have some fun. Let me know what you think and if you would like to talk further. Family First, Mission Always. Stay Safe

1 pointCorruption should be allowed in severs, however it should be built organically in the server. It also should be heavily punished in the server if caught for corruption (depending on the severity). Corrupt officers, detectives, etc should have to fear Internal Affairs, loss of their job/power, and possible jail time if caught. This would force corruption to be smart, and something not every officer, detective, etc could accomplish, or even attempt to be. This is just my thoughts tho.
-
1 pointCertain criminal groups that deal with Orginized crime, like an Italian mafia for example rely heavily on corrupt officials to operate realisticly. Without having the ability to at least somewhat influence police their gameplay would be extremely linited
-
1 pointYou SHOULD be allowed to be corrupt, this is trying simulate real life so let it simulate real life. If the cop gets caught he gets kicked off the force forever thats fair but it SHOULDNT be against the rules or bannable
-
1 pointCould this not be solved by allowing for Police forces to engage in behind the scenes corrupt game play but having some sort of federal agency or Internal Affairs that was forbidden from engaging in any kind of corruption, whose sole purpose was rooting out corrupt officers?

1 pointI've seen quite a few 'community backed' games come and go over the past few years, so it's amusing to me to see the same basic arguments being used for this game as all the others. It's also amusing to see all the same complaints about 'it taking too long' or 'it being pay to win', etcetera. I'm going to back this project, at the minimum level, because it's being made by the people that created Altis Life (which is the most interesting Arma mod I've ever played). I don't have any expectations for Identity. I don't expect it to be finished in the 2-3 years. I don't have an opinion on how gameplay or game mechanics should be designed. I just want to see how the project unveils, and I want to give John VanderZwet a chance to make his dream game. Too often, I see people trying to imprint their own ideas and expectations on games that are in development. They get upset when a game doesn't follow their logic or understanding, or it takes too long to develop. This happens from both haters and fanboys, and I think gamers, as a whole, need to take a step back and realize that not every game has to fit their specific requirements. It's ok for someone to develop something outside of the norms. We should enjoy a game for what it is, and try to understand what the developer is trying to make for us. If the developer has clear vision, and the ability to make a good engine, then the game will be successful. It's important that we embrace this model of funding going forward. I think everyone is tired of AAA publishers releasing the same garbage again and again, and community backing is how we break that cycle. It's how we get back to getting games made by gamers, for gamers. Obviously, there's a lot of risk in this funding model but I feel that it's worth it if it uncovers those 'diamond in the rough' games that would otherwise remain hidden away. I look forward to helping test this game, and although I don't plan on being active in this community, I will voice my input in a calm and logical manner. And on a personal note REM: I look forward to hearing your radio broadcasts in-game someday . Your signature is a little huge though, so maybe trim it down a bit. I had to hide it, and now I don't know how to get it back.

1 pointYesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

1 pointHello citizens! It's been too long since our last developer blog entry, so I wanted to take the time today to update all of our backers on Identity's current state of development, as well as give a little more insight into the process behind the scenes. During the first year and a bit of development, most of the time was spent developing key backend systems. Networking modifications, weapon physics, character customization, voice communication and so on. That's all behind us now, and I'm happy to say it's gone as well as we could have hoped. Now and for the past couple of months we've moved on to gameplay development, making those backend features do the fun stuff. This Month in Development In this last month our lead character artist, Miroslav, has finished up everything we need for your characters going into the Town Square release. We're always going to be adding more character customizations over time, but to start you'll have the choice between 4 male and 5 female race options. After selecting your base race you can customize further with skin tones, blemishes, scars, eye color, hair styles, hair colors and tweaks to facial features. Identity is expanding on the usual character customization, though, as some of the options available can only be gotten through achievements. Prison tattoos are an example; if you see someone with such a tattoo you know they've done something to earn it. A lot of work this month has also gone into the player housing systems. In following our previous messages, our home customization system has been in place for some months although we've been expanding the floorplans in preperation for the Town Square module release. Sean, or Motown as you may know him, has prepared the various apartments you will have in the Town Square. If you have made a smaller pledge to Identity and do not have an apartment yet, we're going to be giving you access to a temporary (small) home in the Town Square so that you can play with the cusomization features. If you've pledged for a package containing an apartment, Town Square will show what you'll have in the full Identity game upon release. Just this morning our lead programmer, Henrik (AKA Mathalion), finished up the karaoke systems. It's a minor feature for Identity as a whole, but it's going to be loads of fun in the Town Square module! Just off the lobby of the hotel is a slick little bar, complete with a karaoke stage. You'll be able to queue up your favorite songs on the karaoke machine and see the lyrics on one of the monitors around the stage. The microphone on the stage really works, too, amplifying your voice out of the speakers so that your singing can be heard by everyone there! Most of us are terrible singers, so karaoke is going to have a lot of hilarious moments. If you're just there to watch, the restaurant by the stage is fully functional, too! It's Been Too Long I'll just come right out and say it: we at Asylum Entertainment have really had poor PR these last months, and you guys deserve better. You deserve much more frequent updates, and we're committing to give you that moving forward. We're a relatively small development team today. Currently a core staff of 5 incredibly talented full-time developers, I'm amazed every day with what this team can accomplish. Outside of our core we have a handful of part-time workers, mostly artists, who are also very skilled. Because we're a small team, many of us have to wear several hats. For example, Sean is our community manager but also a 3D artist. I myself am the project manager, a programmer and interface developer. This leads to few resources to dedicate towards PR as there's so much work to be done on the game itself. This is something we knew though, and we're going to set some time aside regularly to keep you in the loop. The Town Square module is coming soon. We're in the final months of 2016 now, and you'll finally be inside the first piece of the Identity world in the first quarter of 2017. It's a little later than we originally hoped since we're dedicated to making sure everything is smooth and stable from the first moments. Identity is an enormous undertaking, but the most difficult bits are behind us and we're drawing near! What to Expect The first stage of game development is always very boring to talk about, and also doesn't give us much to show you. Creating those backend systems that drive the game behind the scenes is one of the most important phases, but it's not very glamorous. It's for this reason that most games aren't announced until they're a couple years into development. Now that we're past that point, we're going to be able to start showing you real Identity gameplay. The first gameplay video you'll see is going to be in November and will show you just how detailed and in-depth Identity is becomming! You'll see a walkthrough of our housing system, showing just how far it can be customized and some of the cool fun features you'll find in there. Following that video we'll give you a glimpse of the Town Square features, leading up to its release. It's been a ton of work and a long time coming, but we're moving forward at a great pace and everything is about to get very exciting over here.

1 pointAmazing! Can't wait for the game to release, would love to have a job as a coach driver!
