Yesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

Greetings, all. So basically I had this idea.. adding car clamps for Police officers to apply onto someone's car. If you are unsure what a car clamp is: I could not find any other suggestions for this. Thoughts?

"Although not a truly social animal, the black rat is not totally solitary. It normally lives within a small family group..." The Black Rat Band: Thieving for the Love of it First I'll make our purpose clear: There isn't one. If you're looking for a swindler's contest, I suggest you head down the road a-ways. This is a collective, plain and simple. We don't care if you're good at this or not. Listen, to understand who we are, you just need to know three fundamental facts. 1.) We aren't all that interested in money. We're more interested in the collecting, the stockpiling, than the selling. We don't want to hear stories about your deals. We want to know what catches your eye when you're out making bedlam. 2.) No heists. This is nothing organized. We aren't going to go out of our way to case the target. You pick a house, you go in, and take what you like without method or reason. 3.) Respect comes with loyalty. The ones who prove to be the most intelligent and most dedicated will earn respect within the band. If you watch your fellow Rats' backs, we'll pat yours. How We Run I don't want a big, convoluted system with a bunch of leadership positions and ranks. I envision something like a small group of thieves swapping stories of their latest adventures, none of us worried about making it big or making it at all. I envision our members as people who simply want to have fun, wreak havoc, make a different sort of mark in the world. There is no structure. Come and go as you please. Contribute what you like and keep what you like. Just never steal from our contributions. Never do anything you know will be stupid. At the first hint of treachery, you'll be cut off. What's in it for you? I'm not so naive that I believe we can be one big, happy thief family bonded only by the spirit of burgling. Everyone needs some incentive. We Share the wealth. We don't really care about who does more work, as long as you do something. All cash is divided equally among members. We protect our own. A common sentiment across most organizations, we are certainly no exception to this principle. The difference is, when someone is in trouble, no matter who it is, we make them the first priority. Be it the Bandmaster or the guy that joined yesterday, we will do whatever is necessary to keep you alive and well. We don't want to make a lot of noise. We don't want to be the whole making-deals-with-politicians, putting-the-fear-of-God-into-the-city sort of group. We want to remain strictly under radar and neutral in any gang disputes. We won't mess with anyone unless they mess with us. What does that mean for you? A whole lot less to watch out for. We don't accept just anyone and everyone. You have to really love to steal. You have to have the same ideologies as us. You need to prove you're mature and intelligent. And there will be a cap on how many we accept, depending on what kind of leadership we recruit. How do you get in? First, you need to contact us. Leave this thread for questions only. Send me, Greenie, a private message if you are interested in joining. If you would like to seek an initial leadership position, mention so. I will ask you three simple questions. You will be expected to answer succinctly. If seeking leadership, I will ask that you tell me about yourself. Whatever you think is important. Just let me hear your voice, decide if you're worthy. As for now, the member cap is 10, including three leadership positions. This cap will be reevaluated as we organize the group and gain leaders. Current number of members: 3 (1 leader) Now, if you ever find that we have reached the player cap, do not fret. Message me anyway. If I like you better than another member, they will be replaced by you. This will go on until launch. After launch, however, we will not remove members unless they do something very, very stupid. Leadership Bandmaster (Greenie): Founder and Head of the band. Not to be confused with a musical director. Since there is no definite set of rules, the Bandmaster is responsible for hearing complaints against members and making decisions on what to do. Is the only one who can officially accept recruits. Can kick members, set targets (locations to hit for revenge), and call meetings of the band. All implied powers apply. Band Sovereign (1 available): Heads of organization, same power as the Bandmaster except cannot accept members. Master Treasurer (1 available): Keeps track of who has made any contributions. Decides when to do payouts, and is responsible for getting the money to our members. Website will be built when we reach 7 members!

"Well then let me welcome you to this island. As far as pubs go, it depends on what you are looking for. If you just want a solid pint on the cheap, and don't care about risking a fight, I would say the pub about a block north of here would be your best bet" *Kevin points down the street* "But if you are looking for something a bit more quite and clean, I would say head south about two blocks, and there is this small place, not many people go there, so odds are this early you'll have the place to yourself" *Kevin points the opposite direction*

Hello citizens! It's been too long since our last developer blog entry, so I wanted to take the time today to update all of our backers on Identity's current state of development, as well as give a little more insight into the process behind the scenes. During the first year and a bit of development, most of the time was spent developing key backend systems. Networking modifications, weapon physics, character customization, voice communication and so on. That's all behind us now, and I'm happy to say it's gone as well as we could have hoped. Now and for the past couple of months we've moved on to gameplay development, making those backend features do the fun stuff. This Month in Development In this last month our lead character artist, Miroslav, has finished up everything we need for your characters going into the Town Square release. We're always going to be adding more character customizations over time, but to start you'll have the choice between 4 male and 5 female race options. After selecting your base race you can customize further with skin tones, blemishes, scars, eye color, hair styles, hair colors and tweaks to facial features. Identity is expanding on the usual character customization, though, as some of the options available can only be gotten through achievements. Prison tattoos are an example; if you see someone with such a tattoo you know they've done something to earn it. A lot of work this month has also gone into the player housing systems. In following our previous messages, our home customization system has been in place for some months although we've been expanding the floorplans in preperation for the Town Square module release. Sean, or Motown as you may know him, has prepared the various apartments you will have in the Town Square. If you have made a smaller pledge to Identity and do not have an apartment yet, we're going to be giving you access to a temporary (small) home in the Town Square so that you can play with the cusomization features. If you've pledged for a package containing an apartment, Town Square will show what you'll have in the full Identity game upon release. Just this morning our lead programmer, Henrik (AKA Mathalion), finished up the karaoke systems. It's a minor feature for Identity as a whole, but it's going to be loads of fun in the Town Square module! Just off the lobby of the hotel is a slick little bar, complete with a karaoke stage. You'll be able to queue up your favorite songs on the karaoke machine and see the lyrics on one of the monitors around the stage. The microphone on the stage really works, too, amplifying your voice out of the speakers so that your singing can be heard by everyone there! Most of us are terrible singers, so karaoke is going to have a lot of hilarious moments. If you're just there to watch, the restaurant by the stage is fully functional, too! It's Been Too Long I'll just come right out and say it: we at Asylum Entertainment have really had poor PR these last months, and you guys deserve better. You deserve much more frequent updates, and we're committing to give you that moving forward. We're a relatively small development team today. Currently a core staff of 5 incredibly talented full-time developers, I'm amazed every day with what this team can accomplish. Outside of our core we have a handful of part-time workers, mostly artists, who are also very skilled. Because we're a small team, many of us have to wear several hats. For example, Sean is our community manager but also a 3D artist. I myself am the project manager, a programmer and interface developer. This leads to few resources to dedicate towards PR as there's so much work to be done on the game itself. This is something we knew though, and we're going to set some time aside regularly to keep you in the loop. The Town Square module is coming soon. We're in the final months of 2016 now, and you'll finally be inside the first piece of the Identity world in the first quarter of 2017. It's a little later than we originally hoped since we're dedicated to making sure everything is smooth and stable from the first moments. Identity is an enormous undertaking, but the most difficult bits are behind us and we're drawing near! What to Expect The first stage of game development is always very boring to talk about, and also doesn't give us much to show you. Creating those backend systems that drive the game behind the scenes is one of the most important phases, but it's not very glamorous. It's for this reason that most games aren't announced until they're a couple years into development. Now that we're past that point, we're going to be able to start showing you real Identity gameplay. The first gameplay video you'll see is going to be in November and will show you just how detailed and in-depth Identity is becomming! You'll see a walkthrough of our housing system, showing just how far it can be customized and some of the cool fun features you'll find in there. Following that video we'll give you a glimpse of the Town Square features, leading up to its release. It's been a ton of work and a long time coming, but we're moving forward at a great pace and everything is about to get very exciting over here.

Yea, no pay to win as you will only be able to buy cosmetic items which won't give you an advantage over other players.

Our loaning service will allow small businesses to have a start up fund that will be repaid with a very small amount of interest. This will enable you grow your business without worrying about the cash outflow. I hope this answered your question -Pine

Im in parking enforcement and that would be funny cuz its a high cost to remove the boot aka clamp as you called it $100 or if you damage the boot its $500 and criminal charges can be used as well:)

Hi Shadow, The business plan was developed quite far back when there weren't a lot of concepts set in stone for game design. Today, we have the home security services in place for various reasons. Our Regular Home Security Package monitors the perimeter of your home 24/7 with state-of-the-art intelligence technology and provides customer support in the event something happens. An example for this use would be if someone is threatening you and your family inside of your home and it is unsafe to leave your house. You might want to call the police force but there is little they can do before something happens and prioritize critical situations over threats. With our Premium Home Security Package, perimeters are now monitored both by our systems but also a personal security guard. Our clients are the most innovative, successful, and influential people in Identity, so we know how important security is and that people may target them at their homes, a very vulnerable area. This package also includes a transportation vehicle suited to get you and your loved ones out of an unsafe situation securely. Please visit our website here where packages of our services are displayed for further information: http://aegissecurity.wixsite.com/aegis/purchase Thank you for your feedback! Have been thinking about things i'd like to have available to place inside my apartment. Post some pics of things you'd like to see! Apologies if this thread has already been done, I'm conscious of not doubling up and did a quick search/scroll back and only saw cars/clothes/jobs. Hidden wall safe for storing handguns/cash/passports etc: IKEA Expedit record shelves (with turntable on top for playing music would be sick too). Apartment fireplace Telescope for rooms with street/city views Keypad lock for spare room so it can be used for gun storage/private stuff you don't want guests to be able to access. If we can't have pets, maybe a fish tank wall upgrade? What else would you like to see available?

*After feeling his phone vibrate, he pulls it out and reads the text from Shenji, and flicks his mostly finished smoke on the ground stomping it out* "Well shit, hate to cut our conversation short, but duty calls. Who knows, maybe we'll run into each other again" *Kevin climbs into his truck, stopping at the garage to hook a covered vehicle trailer to his truck. Kevin heads down to Rosso's dealership, driving through town with the bass from the music blasting through the subwoofers. Once he gets to the dealership he turns the music down, but leaves the truck running. He walks up to Rosso and Shenji* "Right, so two questions, one, where is the car that needs to be moved, second, is it hot"

Could this not be solved by allowing for Police forces to engage in behind the scenes corrupt game play but having some sort of federal agency or Internal Affairs that was forbidden from engaging in any kind of corruption, whose sole purpose was rooting out corrupt officers?

I mulled over what he said as I took the last drag from my cigarette. "I like cozy places, might check out the south side one, thanks." I looked at the man and something clicked. I'd seen that face before, hadn't I? Not recently either. I took a step back and looked at him carefully. "Hey... I recognise you...", I said. I stopped again to place his face. Then it came to me. "Racing! You race, don't ya? I remember seeing your face online. Won a real nice set of wheels too, if I remember correctly?"

just to clear things up, i don't have a problem with using taxes to pay for the lawyers, in fact, i think they should be used for paying for the lawyers. Just wanted to clarify where the money was coming from, since i can think of multiple ways funding could come from. Oh, and it may be difficult to provide free lawyers and other necessary government services to help care for the people, if you have taxes at a minimum. Low taxes can be fine for to pay for a few government based programs, but that is even less with minimal taxes.

I have to disagree. Putting a gang / business out there before the game is released gives a chance to begin the recruitment phase early. It also gives us a chance to see the competition and get a little taste of RP before the game is even out. As for your other complaint, that nobody can truly say they're any better than any of their competition, I'd have to disagree again. Without naming any names, I can look at a group's forum entry and get a good idea of how successful they'll be. If a group's entry is poorly-constructed, barely legible, and very vague, you can usually bet they won't go very far - if they're even around by the time Identity is released.

Today we publish the first Identity Insider update, bringing you detailed information about key systems in Identity. Our website has expanded with a small page detailing corporations and their classes, also available below: Corporations in Identity You've made a lot of cash working odd jobs, or maybe even the odd less-than-legal task; now that you've had a taste of success, it's time to forge an empire. Corporations will allow the successful with a little extra cash to become driving forces in Identity's dynamic economy. Corporations are organizations similar to, but separate from, gangs and other social structures. They have the added ability of owning assets and issuing work orders to their real-player employees. Some assets, such as the largest cargo trucks, are available only to corporations. Once formed, the corporation is assigned a telephone number for public contact and the director (owner) can build a logo using an in-game design tool. It's then time to hire a staff and get to work. Classes of Corporations Delivery Delivery corporations can buy large vehicles for big hauls, vehicles not available to the general public. While any player can deliver goods in vehicles such as vans, to get the big-bucks you'll need to join a corporation. Legal Let's face it, crimes happen and criminals are going to be arrested. They'll need someone on the outside to convince the jury that they did nothing wrong. This is where legal corporations come into play, and their services aren't always cheap. Transportation People need to get from point A to point B and they don't always have the means to do that themselves. Transportation corporations own special vehicle assets including taxis and more, helping those in need get where they need to be. Manufacturing From the shoes on your feet to the sofa under your seat, almost everything in Identity is built and crafted by other players. Manufacturing corporations give their employees access to a wider variety of constructables and resources, for a cut of the profits. Always Expanding As with most things in Identity, we at Asylum will constantly be expanding this system adding new classes of corporations and building on those already available. Identity's release is only the beginning. If you have any ideas for a well-suited corporation class, let us know on the forums.

Are the modules Alpha or Beta? The Modules are not any kind of beta but serve more as a Alpha! The Beta will be the closest thing to the full game. When is the Beta going to release? There is no current release point for the Beta except after all 3 modules are released. (Late 2018 is my estimate) When is this Game going to release? There is no point for when it is known to release. (My Estimate will be Early 2019 Release) Town Square Release Schedule? The first Module is due to release 21st March 2018 30th November 2018 as so the developers can be sure to hit the release date. 21st March 2018 Countdown When is there going to be game play footage? The next video is said to be on Gun Mechanics, and I would hope to think it will be shown before the S.W.A.T. Module. Crime & Punishment Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GT2b4YvylI4 Character Creation + Quick Tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kctp79UE5sI Day/Night + Interiors + Interactions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNcJj4C_8ZE Homes/ Apartments: Hotels are free, apartments are infinite, all will get to try an apartment in town square, and there will be limited houses around the map, and that Homes can Store items and are useful as HQ's for gangs. Pledges/ and Prices: Some pledges will stay and prices of them will increase while the rest of the pledges will be removed from the store completely. This will be done when the new Website launches which will likely be Early 2018 and so make use of the time left! New website has already been launched. Higher packages are likely going to be removed during Town Square release or later on. Pledge Car Insurance: There will be life time insurance for the pledge cars/ vehicles. Server Player Capacity: The server player capacity is going to be between 300 - 500 players per server! Server size: Will be 300-500 players. What will the size of the "Town Square" be? The "Town Square" module will be as stated a Town Square and there is no "Figure" on the size of it as of yet! Will this game be released on Consoles? No this game is exclusively for PC however after the full game release the Developers will look into console porting. MoTown's Answer to a post on the forum: Our official answer on the topic of consoles is that we have no current plans to release Identity to console platforms, but have promised to do our research into what it might require after our PC launch. This is not a promise that Identity will be available on console, simply a promise to look into it. At the moment, it would be fair to say that it is outside of our scope and budget. Will this game be for MAC and Linux? Yes it will but I don't know if it will be shortly after launch of the game. Will there be AI (Artificial Intelligence)/ NPC's be roaming the map? No, this game is a player run game, but will have a few NPC's filling up the boring jobs which you and I would not do for hours on end e.g. standing at the tills of a shop, also they will be in the un-ownable shops too and they will be around in back-alleys to represent a (Black Market Dealer and Drug Dealers). Will there be any aircraft in this game? No there will not be aircraft in this game but the developers did mention a glider and possibly in the very far future they could still add them but that's not certain. Will there be Undercover cops? No, The reason why there won't be undercover cops is because the developers want a distinctive difference between cops and civilians/ criminals. How many buttons will be in the game? Probably more, but there will be radial menus for some things that will cut down on buttons. What steering wheels are supported? So far the Thrust-master ones are confirmed. ( if its a popular steering wheel, it'll work) Will this game be VR supported? Yes, the developers are working on it and want to be able to have VR supported because they want to use it too when playing the game. Unfortunately they don't think it will be supported at full game release. Is this game Subscription based? No! You buy the game (passport) and then you can play anytime with no more paying. Is there in-game Purchases? (read next question and the answer) Yes. Is this game Pay to Win? No, You can only buy cosmetic items. (Items which don't give players advantages). What are the system requirements? There is no official knowledge yet as its too early to say, but if you can run games like GTA V, Arma 3 and Ark you should be fine. System requirements are on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/792990/Identity/ How is in-game money going to work? Money will be as close and realistic to the USD. What are the names of the 3 cities? Ash Hill, Roseport and Turtle Beach. Can you break in/ raid someones home? No, police cannot raid your house and also no one can rob your house. In correspondance to police not being able to raid your home, it is that you cannot enter your property if wanted either. What age rating will the game be? This game will be Rated 18+. Can you live with someone? Yes you can but you have to have a bedroom for every person who lives in your house. This even includes if you marry someone! Gangs: There will be a gang system, such as making a guild in MMO's. Gangs will have ranks and even HQ's which can be someone's house where all gang members have access or a shop a gang member owns. In Town square, there will not be a gang system YET, but there will be a friends contact on your phones and you can easily roleplay your gang, to begin with. You can have biker gangs, as there are Bikes (such as the ones in the pledges) and leather jackets. You can put insignias on your clothes to show off your gang. There won't be designated gang categories, such as Biker gang or Mafia, but you can Roleplay your gang to be any type you want. There will, however, be areas of the map designed for specific sub-cultures, such as bars that are Biker themed, such as Biker Club Bars. A player can always buy a bar, make it a Biker Club / Bar and make it the HQ of their Biker Gang, or the same with a Mafia gang, etc... Stress System: The Stress System is the games anti-RDM (random deathmatch = randomly killing people for no reason) system. What happens is everyone has a stress level, and if you stress is low, you take less damage, and high, you take normal damage. When you pull out a gun, you instantly get high stress, and when one is aimed at you or you are near a fight, your stress will slowly rise. This helps you to fight back and try and get the advantage on a gunman by using the stress system to your advantage. In weapon customisation: People always ask if there will be silencers or 8X scopes, and there will not be any long range optics or silencers in Identity. Murder: WILL be auto reported and you will be instantly wanted, other crimes require witnesses and a 911 call. Can you Marry? Yes, you can marry both sex. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reddit and Exclusive interview questions and answers Below ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Weapon Customisation? Weapon customization is quite detailed. Some weapons have more room for changes than others of course, but things like stocks, grips, sights and even paint/finish can be customized. Weapon actions are one of those things that don't work well in video games, mostly because no matter what you have in the game you're still firing with a mouse, and it will feel counter-intuitive making it over-complicated. For example, if you have a double action pistol and pull the trigger, your mouse click is all the same no matter if the hammer is back or forward so we need to design around the peripherals people are using to play. Weapon jams are something you can encounter. Our weapon physics are incredibly advanced and was one of the first systems completed long ago. We can create magazines of any size which hold physically accurate ammo. Calibre and even type (holopoint, FMJ, etc) have an effect on trajectory. Our programmer on the weapon physics read a lot of papers to get proper formulas, and they function off the same math used by real-world forensics. A bullet fired in Identity will travel almost identically to the same being fired in the real world, even when it comes down to things like stopping power versus penetration. Will there be physics to shoot through walls or boxes? Things that a bullet would usually go though in real world situations. Absolutely. Bullets are influenced by the material they hit. If it's wood, it will pass right through it with very little change to velocity, but a thin sheet of metal may still allow the bullet to pass through, yet reduce velocity enough that it may not kill, or do much damage to its target on the other side when it impacts. 1. What is in game prison like? 2. Is it like real prison with guards, rec time, shiving, and keeping a tight grip on the soap? 3. How does the drug manufacturing and trafficking work? 4. Can I get methylamine? 1. Identity's prison is very much a game within a game. As a prisoner, you can join one of three prison factions and battle for territory, or just hang out in the recreational room and chat and interact with other prisoners while you wait out your time. You'll be able to craft a crude shank and attack others, or attempt a prison escape as a group that the police will be forced to respond too from across the map. There are no player prison guards though. The decision for that was mostly just because we couldn't find a way to keep it engaging and fun. We don't want people to be forced to sit and watch other players. 2. For those in prison however, when they've served their time, they may simply exit the prison through a series of corridors that only they have access too, or if they just have a lengthy prison sentence, they can request a trial which will notify random players across the map to report for jury duty, in which case they will plead their case, and have their fate decided on by a vote whether to be released early, or spend the rest of their time behind bars. 3. & 4. In the outside world, there are a number of drug manufacturing processes, including the production of meth, heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. Each has its own unique crafting process. For instance, in order to cook meth, which is the highest paying and most valuable drug in Identity, it will require the player to purchase a mobile RV, convert it into a meth lab, and then steal all of the ingredients from across the map in certain factory locations. They'll then have to spend time cooking the meth through a series of time-based processes that determine the quality of the product before finally selling it to an NPC drug dealer for a big payout (or you can consume it if you feel like cutting into your hard-earned profits). 1)Price when the game releases 2)Will there be realistic payments for the jobs(on official servers)? I really hate it when you deliver a huge track full of diamonds and get 10k for it just breaks the immersion 3)Will the items take physical space inside the car not only for furniture but with job items as well (Weed, diamonds, etc) and will you be able to put more staff in the car if Let's say you have a 4 man vehicle but its only you and a friend inside so you have 2 sheets left will that mean extra space? 4)Will the things you buy have realistic prices? For example if you buy a Ferrari it will cost you something like 150k? 5)Will there be real life cars in the game or unlicensed cars like in gta v 6)Will there be any A.I cops or enemies? 7)Will i be able to raid other players houses? 8)Will there be a report system so you can instant report someone if he rdm's/vdm's you 9)Will there be an in game recorder so you can have proof for rdm ? (something like plays.tv lets say) 10)will there be a casino? 11)Any micro transactions? (not for cosmetic items) 12)Can you compare the driving to another game so we kinda know how driving will be like ?(i hope not like arma) 13)Will you be able to shoot while inside a vehicle 14)will there be rebel items like armored(extra armor and guns)vehicles, helicopters, jets. 1. Currently, you can pre-order, or pledge early for Identity for as low as $15 (without beta access) or $30 (with beta access) from our website @ identityrpg.com - however, we expect the price of the game to jump up to about $45 when it hits steam, as steam takes a pretty large chunk of income from each sale. 2. Expect Identity's currency to be realistic in value, so your pay will also be realistic. A pair of shoes may cost about $40, and a decent car around $30,000. A lot of games reward players with such high numbers in currency and damage though because there seems to be a psychological attracting to larger numbers, so we can understand why games do it but it won't be that way in Identity. 3. Items will take up physical space inside the trunk of a car. When a player accesses the trunk, there is a 2D grid placement system in which each item takes up a number of squares on the grid depending on its shape and size. The largest items will not fit inside the trunk of a small car, so a big semi-truck with a trailer may be necessary. 4. Oops, I answered this with #2 as well. 5. There won't be real-world cars or brands in Identity. We can't afford the license fees to include real brands in our game, and we're almost certain these companies would not want their brands associated with vehicle damage, or some of the criminal and illegal elements also featured in the game. 6. There won't be AI cops out in the game environment, driving police vehicles, or paroling streets. If there are any, they will simply stand behind a desk at the station recruiting new player officers or providing information. 7. You will not be able to raid another players house, or enter their house without their permission. We want player homes to be your personal space, safe from any outside influence. Players are going to put a lot of effort customizing their homes, and we don't want to jeopardize or disturb the work they put into it. 8. RDM/VDM isn't an enforced rule on official servers, but there will be a tool for reporting these actions on private servers who create rules for these actions. Instead, on Official servers, we have a stress system in place to discourage random attacks or griefing. 9. There won't be an in-game video recording tool, but you can use 3rd party video recording software like OBS, Fraps, or Shadowplay. 10. There will be casinos in Identity, but they are not player owned. 11. Micro-transactions exist for cosmetics, some vehicles, and some apartments, and will be claimable across all servers (hopefully including private servers). We will not sell weapons. 12. Expect driving in Identity to be realistic, much like Grand Theft Auto IV, not V. Players won't be able to survive crazy stunt jumps in Identity, and enough damage could disable your vehicle. Unfortunately however, we cannot easily do a damage model like you might expect to see in BeamNG. Damage has to be networked across the server, and we feel transmitting that much damage data could hurt performance. 13. You won't be able to shoot from inside your vehicle. We want to discourage random acts of violence for the sake of roleplay. 14. There won't be any armoured vehicles in Identity, apart from maybe SWAT trucks. We don't want to give anyone a PVP advantage based on vehicle armor. Aircraft are also not present in Identity, as it is important to us that players do not skip over potential encounters they may have gotten into while driving, and of course because we don't want the world to feel smaller by flying quickly from point A to point B. If anyone thinks of more FAQ questions please comment and I can add them in.

Hello, fellow citizens! My name is EverTemple. pleased to meet you all! I'm not sure how I made up the name EverTemple, but it has always been my tag. I'm from Hong Kong, and I can't wait to join this community. I've used to be an Administrator of a Garry's Mod community called Aurora, I manage both DarkRP and TTT servers, but since massive changes I've left. I also play Counter Strike: Global Offensive, I used to be Global Elite and SMFC, but I've become inactive recently. Although I don't play a lot of RPG, I'm excited about the game identity. I'm fascinated with the freedom this game gives, the massive amount of options we get is fantastic! Some people calls me Steve or Steven, I'm 15 and I've always lived in Hong Kong. Some people have the thought that because I'm 15, I must be very childish, but I can guarantee you that I'm not. It's not that we can't have fun together, but I'm not to the point of insensitive or immature. I get along with people easily due to friendliness, so don't be afraid to interact with me. I'm not sure if there's a lot of players in South East Asia region, anyhow, I'm looking forward to meeting more friends in this community, and I hope to see you on forums and in the game soon! P.S: Not advertising, but If you wish to remove the name of the community I used to be in, you may.

It would be interesting if the developers were to introduce the idea of producing contests on commodities in the future. If anything, a company's product would be perceived to be dominant based on it's sales and profits.

The only reason somebody should be banned on official servers is for hacking. On community servers, the owner is paying for them so they can do whatever they want, but hopefully there will be some reasonable owners who dont appoint abusive admins.

I don't agree with total corruption but maybe taking a few bucks here and there to look a blind eye would be cool.

I dont know how the developers are gonna handle this issue, but if im not mistaken they have created a system that would discourage any of those behaviours, to what extent I dont know. For example, A person buys a gun in the regular gun store and just goes about to shoot anyone. Mods or admins will moderate the outcome of the situation and make them unable to buy guns in a store again for a long period of time if they are guilty, and if they want to do that again they can go the illegal way, but that will be very expensive, so if you are smart you will not do that kinda thing. Thats just my idea of how its gonna work.

I jog the rest of the way over to him. "Sorry to be a pain but I literally just go off the boat. You know any good pubs?" I asked, maybe a bit too eagerly. I hadn't had a drink since I left Ireland two months ago and I was eager fix that.

"Haha so a wheel for a wheel with a little extra cash involved. I like it. Now usually I'd just ask you to tell me what you want but... I think I have something here in the dealership repair bay that might spark your interest and kick this off, follow me. *Rosso leads Shenji into the repair bay and once inside he grabs a pair of worn keys from a hook on the wall and walks over to a pair of cars* "1998 Toyota Supra Twin-Turbo QuickSilver six speed. One of fifty five made, never modified." *He then walks over to the second car and removes its tarp* "1997 Toyota Soarer five speed. One of hundred twenty made." *Rosso steps back to let Shenji inspect the cars* "You know what the Japanese like better than I do, what do you think of these? Fit the bill?"

*After seeing Shenji off, Kevin finishes off his beer before setting back to work on the Mustang. After working on the car for a hour, Kevin thinks back to the proposal and pulls out his phone, texting Shenji* "If your offer of cards still stands, let me know the time and place -K" *After sending the text, Kevin heads outside to have a smoke to discover non in the breast pocket of his jacket* "Well shit" *Kevin heads down to the nearby 24/7 in his truck after locking the shop up. Once there he gets out and heads inside to pick up a pack of smokes when he notices the two people in the alley having a conversation*

Hey there @Trollbomber and welcome to the forums! There will be a shopkeeper and banker job yes. The variety is essentially endless. There will likely be an official EU server and quite possibly a RU server too. But remember you can make private servers in pretty much any region. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me.

Dear Identity here are a few obvious things I really hope you can put in the game: 1. Petrol and Diesel to power cars, if you put the wrong one in the car it breaks down, marked on pumps. At least a dozen varieties of the little things that shouldn't be the same, like a chain and pad lock please don't use the exact same image for every lock and chain. 2. Car Insurance: the more you use it the more your premium, Health insurance dito on premium increase, Life insurance, possibly the longer you live the higher your pay out with other player on the game as beneficiary. 3. Crime scenes, if a big crime is committed an actual crime scene should be cordoned off with tape Ai Tecs prepping scene, possibly the job of crime scene photographer, forensic analyst - clues will be in short supply but fibres of recognisable clothes, print dusting - finger-print data-base of previously printed criminals, access to cctv feeds in the area with facial recognition, access to cell phone activity in the area of the crime so you can catch the criminal by placing their mobile phone in the location at the time of the crime to ease catching criminals. On the flip side of these ideas criminals should be able to stash their phone somewhere before a crime or buy disposables they can bin, also burning clothes cars, petrol cans to burn locations to destroy evidence including bodies being put in the trunks of cars and digging graves for body dumps. 4. you should be able to sit in the back of a van and smash window so you can fire out from consealed location. Same for any house or apartment windows in the game to get snipers spots. 5. get married, if you fall in love with another player you should be able to marry them. actural dating sight for in game players. 6. gun licence, and gun data base for tracking crime scene weapons. having to inform police if a fire arm is stolen same for car so it can be tracked and criminal caught. 7. toilet door stop for call of nature. 8. actual eating and sleeping or growing ill and weak and tired. a regular capacity for carrying no pocketable rocket launchers. 9. realistic 24 hr to 24 hour game time, with things like office or factory jobs you can programme a character to do while you go to your real world job. Same for sleep set how long you want to sleep for and return to the game after that, if your late back to the game they over-sleep. pharmaceuticals to counter tiredness. 10. programmable routines, if you live a perfect repetitive day in the life of your character you should be able to store it in a diary and set that to repeat when you aren't playing the game, still generating an income. Ai repeats this keeping the world full of people. If you get killed while you're an Ai when the player returns to the game they could be waking up in a hospital bed. 11. different realities - if a player breaks into a house and your character is asleep Ai, person not currently playing, and the intruder kills them. when the person returns to the game it could takes them to the moment of the break in and if there was noise that would have woken them they can run or fight the Ai of the previously played attacker and possibly win. additional time differences could be taken up with and evened out back to the normal 24 hours by having police reports or a period of amnesia. 12. you should be able to design your own tattoos, or buy other players designs for them, and put them anywhere on the body in any size, like moding a car in need for speed pro street. 13. There should be realistic big penalties for crimes to make people afraid of committing them. 14. the different servers for different styles is great, it could work like a heaven and hell scenario. if you play violently you are in a violent world if you play peacefully you live in a peaceful world, the second some one chooses to pull a weapon out in a peaceful world they get shifted to an Ai replication of the same world with the same events happening in around them so neither player is aware that it just shifted, just that they each became Ai to the one another. 15. I have a lot more ideas like these, I've been gaming since the beginning of gaming and would love to share my ideas with you if you want to hear them. Also I have studied Theatre scenario and dialogue script writing, short film making editing directing and photography, I have a large wealth of creative ideas I would love to help progress this game with to be something truly special and progressional I agree with Ai it could be phenomenal, please contact me through my email if you would like to suggest some topics or situations you would like me to develop specifically image or script wise, I could write you any scenario you like. I hope the game becomes what it is beginning to look like it could be. yours gratefully Leigh Beard aka MRBEARDMA

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
