Just a thought, I'm a San Diego Officer and I also own my own restaurant, Is there anyway we could have a career but run a business on the side? Also, can you also make food trucks a thing, would love to recreate my business.

Flag is a term for a toggle. It's not meant in a literal sense. This means only that the police now have the ability to charge or arrest you for that crime. Also note that private servers can disable this to give full freedom to the police.

are trunks the ONLY place we can store in vehicles? could we smuggle weapons / drugs in OTHER places other than the trunk?

@Vix, you're awesome for digging through all of my tweets to provide context here on the forums!

I'm not going to join the police, but it is a very interesting job indeed! According to the twitter as a cop you have a partner you work with. You can't be an undercover cop but also no civilian can disguise themselves and be fake cop- they won't be able to buy or steal a police uniform, steal a police car or even steal a cop's equipment! Other interesting things about police are how they locate a crime scene, have criminal records, are split between regions, can move from region to region, are limited when it comes to how many can be on duty at the same time and can only arrest "flagged" killers.

The policing career is the most in-depth of all the careers in Identity because it serves a very important role in the game as a whole. When you first start out as a rookie cop, you'll begin patrolling and responding to dispatch calls. If there's a dispatcher online you can speak to them directly with your radio and if not it's handled by an automated system. As you progress you can unlock additional perks in the policing career and eventually you can experience new specialty roles like detective, SWAT, and so on. A police officer can only ticket or arrest another player for something they are known to have committed. If a cop sees you speeding down the road, he then has the opportunity to ticket you. If he turns on his emergency lights and you refuse to pull over for him, the system will now allow him to charge you with resistance. That is, at the base level, how the system functions. Private servers have the option to remove all restrictions and leave it up to the discretion of the officer, although this system keeps the police in-line. A lot more information on policing will be available on the website very shortly. I just had to hide about half of this thread since it was completely off-topic arguing. Let's try to keep that to the private messages.

I'm not a developer, but I believe they want the police career to be pretty in depth, and we would more than likely need that considering the type of crimes that can be committed in Identity.

We at Asylum Entertainment are very excited to tell you, our community, how you will be able to get into the game sooner than you think! Identity's modules are small portions of Identity which will be released before Identity is ready for the world. This lets you experience part of the game months sooner than otherwise possible. The first module you'll be getting your hands on is a social environment which we've called Town Square. The Town Square will include all major social components, and will allow you to finally create and customize your characters. You can meet hundreds of new people and explore several cool features of the peaceful city life. For more details on Town Square, check out the modules page on the Identity website. Following the release of Town Square you'll experience SWAT player versus player action and eventually vehicle races of all sorts. We'll be bringing you more information on the modules as they progress!

Hello all you Legends, Considering I have many ideas, I thought it would be best to make a single post containing them all so the Devs can look at one instead of lots of mine! So let's begin! 1. Supporting SLI/ Crossfire. This would improve the games performance for many users, also allow the game engine to be pushed more. 2. Largest map size possible. I think bigger the map better, I do not care about hard drive space, 100GB game? This game is worth it! The map being so large would enable more to be put in, because what happens if it's small and all the houses are bought? We have to find a server with a house not bought! 3. Allow car tuning or customising for racing. Pretty simple, street racers want to customise their cars, tune them and make them best they can, so why not allow a full tune system like Forza Motorsport or something so the car handles the way we want, dragsters can make drag cars, drifters can be drifters and it makes for a more diverse system, maybe even people arranging car meets with customised cars and tuned. 4. Allow us to survive off the land by hunting, camping. Simple as the name, if the map has a proper forest like we seen, full detail camo and hunt proper either for a sport/ competition or for fun with friends sitting at a fire talking. 5. Make the police do a survey or some work before, reasons below. I think making the police a little harder to get into is better because, no one wants someone who has joined the police, given a car and acting like a t**t, so making it a little time consuming or something before, might eliminate people wanting to waste time for it! Nobody wants a troll police from which, all the players who has played Altis Life has met, a lot! 6. Share homes with friends? Allow us to share a home with a friend, like add them as a room mate or something and designate a room for them so they can customise the room only and pat towards rent etc 7. Allow the drug dealers to grow drugs at homes or apartments? Also buying land to grow and produce on! For the people who want to do the illegal operations. Why not if you buy an apartment or house, make a small section able to grow or produce narcotics. If not why not buy some land maybe in a forest or somewhere secluded, produce drugs and stuff and then give to the dealers to sell and make money... Instead of going to one spot on the map all the time, making it easy for the police, more realistic this way I think and fun! 8. Adding pets. (My wife suggested this) she likes the idea of buying a pet in the game, doing work or robbing shops or banks or whatever your long day is, coming home and having a pet and maybe interacting with the pet would increase a comfort level or increase happiness or something. Maybe even walk the pets (if walkable like a dog) and maybe meet other players that way too. (This sounds like something different to me lol but that's what she wanted me to add) - she will buy the game if she has this option lol she wants a dragon.... I am unsure how real this game should be but a mini dragon would be cool. 9. Mini games I can think off which would be amazing in a matchmaking or private it friends (some of these are in the game but I'll list anyway) Paint balling/ DESTRUCTION DERBY/ pool/ snooker/ golf/ bowling/ darts/ go karting/ mountain biking/ sky diving (ran out of ideas but you get the idea (There could even be games added to the In game laptop: computer that you could play, kinda like the Java games lol) 10. Buried treasure? Easter eggs? I love open world games, I love exploring and finding things. For this game in the masses, it would be awesome to have lots of Easter eggs in the game or even... Buried treasure! Like find a map and solve the puzzle or riddle to find some random generated treasure, maybe even have underwater caves to swim into and explore to find pirates stuff 11. Big explorable ocean? Just water, boats, ships etc which would add more vehicles and even add stuff under the water to find, ship wrecks, treasure, caves, sunk items etc... Scuba diving fun! 12. A casino! A casino for poker/ black jack/ roulette and so much more with slots to maybe win in game stuff like currency, items, cars, clothing, limited stuff and all multiplayer to play the money against other players! 13. Tablets companion app to always keep connected and earning money! What about an iOS and android companion app to always keep ton connected to the game, earning money and still playing when you cannot! Stuck on public transport and want to check if a shipment has arrived or something, want to send orders for stuff ingame, this would be it! 14. Third person options. Allow us the option to cycle between different camera options. I do not think many people can drive from behind the wheel view, the same as not many people prefer first person and prefer third. 15. Allowing us to customise heist vehicles for a good bank robbery, putting armour on and making a good run. Basically we want to rob a bank, truck, supply runs or do anything daring. Allow us too create a vehicle or two with a gang or something to make a daring heist armoured up! (This is different to vehicle customising for racing and tuning) 16. Motorbikes passangers face back and front. When on a motorbike and you have a few friends and bikes, being chased etc by police or something. Allow a friend to choose between getting on facing front or backwards, so if facing back the driver can drive obviously, and the back passanger can watch behind for making some intense police shootouts and chases. 17. Make lots of small alleys and side streets to escape through and underground tunnels. This is simple, a city would be a big size and allow small alleys for a bike to fit down, underground tunnels to escape through or get around without being seen above, but make them limited. 18. Get married and earn bonuses Yes, this might seem like a silly reply and maybe going more realism but I was asked for this by my wife who also bought the game, so I said I would put this here! She thought, the option to get married in game (Even though we are married in real life) and then when doing jobs together as a group, we earn a bonus of XP/ Cash because we are a group. 19. Large groups on screen. Most games allow only 4 people in a group, some do not allow groups at all and you kinda just work as one. It would be great, kinda like the Elder Scrolls Online group system, where you can group up (names on screen in a list or something) making it easier to show up on the map, with an interactive menu to change certain things (Sadly kinda like the GTA Interactive menu) so you can change things about your character and whatever, but allow the group leader a special option to change things for all. 20. Prison breaks? Breaking friends out of jail. I do not think that jail time in game is going to be super long time, but if it's a few hours or minutes, can we break them out of jail in some mad system we create. Plan and put into action or something. I like both and can do both so not fused. That's all I can think of right now! Sorry for the long message but I hope atleast one person likes what I've written. Enjoy all!

    1. Confirmed SLI support. 2. Map will be 225km2 and will take about an hour to cross on foot, so it is pretty big. 3. There will be customizing, tuning and racing. 4. Done. 5.. There will be police training before letting them join the force on official servers. 6. Done. 7. It's possible, but might work slower than if done on farms. 8. There will be pets, but they'll be only in apartments at first and it's not yet confirmed if they'll be added before or after launch. I don't think they'll add dragons... It's a modern realm. 9. There will be paintball, mini games and sports. Pretty sure they've mentioned darts either in a video or an interview on youtube. 10. There actually was a huge thread with Easter Eggs ideas on the old forum! Not sure about buried treasures lol. 11. There will be boats, diving and even scuba gear. And an ocean, of course! 12. Yup. 13. There's a suggestion about this on forums, so maybe!

After pleasuring the store owner for the remainder of the night, he gave the group a selection of the finest purple apples. However the Isis militants queuing outside before the store was open the next morning were the least bit happy to see a non middle eastern male and two ogres getting served before them. They kicked the door down and began throwing explosive tennis balls at the group, while screaming "Allahu Ackbar!" During this Kevin decided it would be a good idea to.....

Nah. I'd find it extremely annoying if my character had it's 2nd own voice, because there's no way it'd sound like mine and it'd drive me crazy if I was talking like "Hi, how are you doing?" and my character would simultaneously go "Hmmm" or something. There'd be weird things like old man with a very elderly, low voice suddenly saying "Ouch!" in a 20-year old higher pitched voice and all of that.

Still no. Other people would have to know if you're in passive or not. Imagine a mugger coming up to you with a gun in an empty street and he's all like "Give me all your money or I'll kill you!" and you just... walk off because you're in passive? He shoots you and nothing happens, just wasted bullets? What about bank robberies? Criminals wouldn't be able to take "passived" people hostage because they'd be immortal. Or everyone could just go into Settings, change into passive and walk out like nothing happened. Death and injuries give the game realism and they make a lot of scenarios exciting, scary and enjoyable. What they're doing are "safe zones". Maybe in a private server's settings you could make the whole game non-lethal, but official servers won't be god-moded.

Oh glob no. Have you ever even tried Second Life? I did. It's like online hell. And the characters look like monkeys by default. o-o In Second Life the only purpose is walking (and flying?) and, if you want- buying stuff. But you can't earn money for the stuff because there are no jobs apart from making your own stuff that people will buy. Second Life is a social game, but it's absolutely awful. Identity will be a Role Playing Life Simulation based on Cops & Robbers. It's more like GTA and Sims in my opinion.

@xVAULTxDWELLERx Police work is actually an integral part of the game, well from what I've seen and heard so far anyway. The developers have discussed a realistic career path for those interested law enforcement and have even shown vehicles, uniforms and weaponry that other players won't have unless in the force like tasers and so on. They've also said you can have your own special Police vehicle with a laptop you can use to search up player details, radars, sirens, search lights and the list goes on. Actually I think even their overall approach to Policing design and gameplay is better than what Police 10-13 have proposed for their simulator game.
