2 pointsSo after reading the FAQ a bit more in dept I saw this sentence in one of the questions: "Players cannot access another players home without an invitation." This makes me a bit concerned since that means no robbing of players houses will be possible. Robbing houses is one of the most fun and thrilling things to do in Gmod DarkRP, and if the developers think that robbing peoples houses will have a negative impact on the housing aspect, here are my suggestions: * Give players the ability to buy alarms for their houses (Locks come with the house). * Nerby cops and the player owning the house gets alerted immediately when a house alarm has gone off. * Robbers have to buy a crowbar/lockpick to be able to get inside of the house if the door is locked. * Crowbars/lockpicks will be very limited in stores. * Robbers are only able to slowly carry one object/furniture at a time making the robbing process take loads of time. * Players can buy cameras which can be accessed via your phone (this will probably take loads of time to implement and I don't think it's really that necessary). * To keep certain things safe in the house, players can buy safes. * Robbers are only able to rob a house if it's empty of players (Just to keep the houses safe places to chill and hang out with firends) With only a few of these suggestions implemented, robbing houses would become very hard, which is a good thing since you wouldn't want players houses to constantly get robbed. Also one thing to keep in mind is that the houses in DarkRP are often empty which means that you can easily find the valuable stuff fast, while in Identity, the houses will be filled with loads of furniture making the search harder for robbers. I really hope that the developers will consider these suggestions since I think it would add to the immersion of a game like Identity. EDIT: After some discussion I feel like I need to clearify a few things. Since the developers have said that the only way to enter a house is through an invitation, because the performance will be an issue, I will try to explain my ideas how this could be fixed. So since houses will feature an instanced loadingscreen, the robber could be transfered into the house with a loadingscreen, exactly the same as when a player gets invited. The only difference is that the robber didn't get an invitation. And for example if a player could only invite 10 people to a house, then only 5 robbers and 5 cops should be able to enter the house and there wouldn't be any noticeable differences in the performance. The only problem with this is that if the loading times are long, there could be situations where the cops and robbers could be in a loadingscreen at the same time, which would result in them passing by eachother without the cops or the robbers noticing eachother. The solution to this problem could be to have a display on the door indicating if a player is about the get in/out of the house, or have a blurred verson of the avatar remain standing outside the door while loading. Another thing with the houses is that they are places where you are able to just chill out with friends and such, without any action or robbers. How to fix this problem is to only make robbers able to rob the house if there are no players inside (which includes the owner and the players invited).

2 pointsSo you walk through a room into a thick cloud of virtual smoke, and are presented by a group of sharp dressed gentlemen with cigars in one hand, and a glass of whiskey in the other hand. Half of them are sat in the lounge area, the other half with cards in hand halfway through a game of Texas Hold'em. Don't you guys think it would be great having something like this in game? No pre game lobbies or nonsense, just the ability to walk in, have a virtual toke and play a few rounds. That would be sick I think
-
2 pointsYou either must be terribly uninformed or don't smoke it yourself, because I couldn't disagree with you more. The majority of people don't suffer from Marijuana withdrawal whatsoever and any psychological damage only comes from a strain with particularly high levels of THC in it.

2 pointsHaving done Bank heists in altis life in arma 3 I can agree with you but a bank heist should be almost impossible. its meant to be a real achievement and it would give something for the player run radio stations to talk about.

I mean it's running, so I'll probably repaint it, throw on some decals, new body kit, lower the suspension" *Kevin begins walking around the car forming a vision for it* "A custom exhaust system couldn't hurt, get it to sound real good, and maybe a custom interior. Oh, and underglow lighting of course. Probably give the engine bay a good scrubbing, get it shining"

2 pointsThere you go again, blabbing on and on about how the population will take up arms if a government is created in your imaginary world. In reality it would only be a select few insane rednecks including you. Voids get filled, and by creating a void, with the elimination of government, you shouldn't be surprised that it too will fill. Have you even stepped a foot into the world of economics? sounds like you haven't. Patents, copyrights, and trademarks have nothing to do with welfare. Patents have fueled innovation. Sure I'm not against the right to bear arms, but you must understand that not everyone can use a gun. Not everyone can defend themselves. It is indeed an arguments, either a foreign government will take the land, or a new government will form in that land. That is it. Just because you have guns doesn't mean you are going to defend yourself against something like that. It would be like the U.S military vs Somalian pirates. good luck with that.

2 pointsYesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

2 pointsAll very good questions. We continuously plot our budget to hire as many people as we can (accounting for up to a years pay in most cases) in all essential areas. This essentially means that in order to make more room for more artists or programmers, some of us have to do multiple jobs at once. For instance, I'm both the Community Manager and a 3D artist. Paratus, besides just being our project manager, is also a full time programmer and technical artist for Identity. He's always busy with one thing or another and It's not that he's taking 6 months to do one thing. it's more like that he's actually moving from one priority to another with the video never being at the top of that list. The longer it takes him of course, the higher priority it becomes, and it's certainly far past due now. He knows that and isn't intentionally avoiding it. We've had a lot of people offer to help us for free, but we've also had a few offer to help for a price. We have hired a couple freelancers in the past from our community on Twitter, but we do have incredibly high standards for our artists, and not everyone is capable of meeting those standards, and that kind of talent doesn't come free. The other issue is that, perhaps hypocritically on my part being the exception, we feel very strongly against accepting free work. With our budget in check, we can't afford to pay these people if they were looking for a paid job, and don't feel comfortable exploiting their services for free. There are a lot of moral and ethical concerns regarding that, even if the person providing thinks they are ok with it. From our experience, eventually they are going to want compensation, which leaves the door open for potential legal issues. I think this post particularly is a wake up call for our entire team. As a result of our lack of communication, we can observe how damaging false accusations, like that posted on Reddit can be, especially when noone from the community has been provided anything in support of countering these claims. Worse still, this burden is my responsibility specifically, and I absolutely do feel like I am underachieving by not being able to provide new information to our community with any kind of frequency. I will work with Paratus to see what we can move around to develop a new strategy for dealing with our PR issues.

1 pointHey fellow Law Enforcers With this topic I'd like to inform and assist you in understanding and creating a police department. It's important that departments are organised and have a structure to ensure officers are appointed to tasks and supervisors ensure tasks are completed. While rank structure is an important part of your department, it's also important to have a good divisional structure. Hopefully at the end of the text you're a bit wiser on how a police department works. We'll start of with Police Ranks. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Hierarchy Staff Officers Chief Of Police - In charge of the department and handles public relations with other departments aswell as controls internal procedures and protocolsDeputy Assistant Chief Of Police - In charge of the department when the Chief of Police is on absence Deputy Chief of Police - In charge of a large part of the department, known as an Office. Example: Office of Operations or Office of Counter Terrorism Command Officers Commander - In charge of a training within the department. Example: Sergeant In Training or Detective In Training Captain - In charge of a precinct or leads all patrols within a certain area and acts as a supervisor to supervisors. Lieutenant - In charge of a larger division and serves as city wide/ patrol wide supervisor. Supervisor Sergeant - In charge of smaller divisions or head of certain aspects within divisions. Alse the first contact point for basic officers Senior Lead Officer - A non commissioned officer who is in training to become either a supervisor or detective.. Investigator Detective In Charge - In charge of a investigation division and will handle day to day requests from lower ranked Detectives. Also in charge of casefiles. Detective - Basic detective who investigates crimes after they happened and observes organised crimes Senior Lead Officer - A non commissioned officer who is in training to become either a supervisor or detective. Non Commissioned Officers Police Officer III - Patrol officer who teaches the new officers the way around the department. Police Officer II - Basic Patrol officer who makes up most of the department. Police Officer I - Newly inducted Police Officers who are in their probationary stage and learn the way of the department. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Hierarcy With the previous mentioned hierarcy the base of your department should be filled. However it is always possible to adjust the ranks towards the need of your department. For example you can create a Senior Sergeant who would be a basic sergeant, but in training to become a Lieutenant. Another example is a Lieutenant I and Lieutenant II. Where the I would ensure larger divisions are kept under control the Lieutenant II would handle a precinct or multiple patrols. Ranks also work hand in had with your organisation. For example if you have 7 divisions it might be wise to have 7 lieutenants or a few lieutenants of the bigger divisions and sergeants of the smaller divisions. It's important to know your department, because some divisions will require more intense handeling than others. Warrants and searches require more knowledge of the penal code and law than a traffic division. For that reason it's better to have a Lieutenant handle the Investigation divisions and a Sergeant the Traffic Division. The higher the rank the more legal and situational knowledge a person must have. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Organization Chart _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Organization Know your department and its needs! It's very important to ensure your department has a wide arrangement of divisions people can join so their day to day tasks are never the same and never boring. A good structure is most needed in the department and every part of it has a person controlling it. Divisions by Sergeants, Large divisions by Lieutenants, Precincts by Captains, Offices by Deputy Chiefs and at the top the Chief of Police. The way a good structure works if that a basic officer will not have to complain to the Chief of Police. If he has a problem he should go to his appointed sergeant. If he can not solve it, the sergeant goes to his superior and so on. Because there are limited amounts of divisions in an Office there will be a good overview of them all. It's important that the division leader reports to the Office leader and the Office leader to the Chief of Police. Ensure to give your Deputy Chief of Police enough power to change his Office by only having to inform the Chief of Police with the changes. This way there is more control and better support for every division and they will know who too contact when there is a problem. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ GENERAL NOTICE: If you have comments or have questions about a certain aspect within the police department, you can always ask it here. I'll try to give a good answer to every question asked. Obviously if your question is important, it will also be added in the topic along with the explanation. If you have certain subjects to add aswell you can always PM me and it will be added into the topic along with credits too your name. This topic is aimed to give a detailed guide on how to make or understand a police department and hopefully the community works with eachother to give tips to other servers. Sorry for possible writing errors

1 pointHello everyone! Some of you might remember that I had a thread on the old forum with an Imgur album containing all pictures posted by the developers on Twitter and Facebook. I just wanted to let you all know, both those who might have seen it but had forgot about it, aswell as new people who found it just now that it still exists and is updated as soon as a new picture is released. You can access it here, feel free to use it (or not use it) however you like. Take care!

1 pointHey! Came across this game stumbling across YouTube recently, and I have to say, you have gotten me pretty hyped. I'm pretty much an immigrant and at times a bit of a nomad, so i'm sure I'd fit right in in this game. I'm originally from South Africa, lived in England for 8 years, and have just recently moved to the US. I have one question though, if pledging, would i get early access beta, as in game play which is currently available? Or would I only get access when the Beta opens up in 8+ months time? Thanks! And good luck guys!

1 pointYou can click on the link in my previous reply to learn more about them. They are basically small parts of the game that will be released and updated continuously until the full release.

1 pointIf People decide we are making laws to help our company they can vote us out of Office, however there will be no link between the Law and Parliament, they are two different companies, under the same name. We thrive as a group to support and listen to our people. If they think a law is unfair and unjust we will remove that law.

1 pointIf you commit a crime they should not just get your name as a White Flag they should have to talk to players and collect information it's hard to solve crimes and that is the reason it is a problem if it's done right it is very hard to convict someone. People should have to contact the police they should have to investigate it. As for robbing the bank i would want it to close to empty have people in on it go in as "hostages" then kill the real ones to show them not to test me. let of people in on it out and have them kill the cops from behind if it starts going south.

1 pointI don't think they are adding race tracks and so it is only illegal racing e.g. street racing. Also you can mend/ fix cars but not to the extent of building them.
-
1 pointUnderstandable, James. One should also note that the game shall be hosted within the south-eastern regions of The United States of America, indicating that one shall be capable of defending their persons and property against hostile and violent criminals.
-
1 pointWell this is what i am doing investing in it with my friend.
-
1 pointYou don't know to argument do you? Instead of telling me valid reasons not to feature robbing you start to threat me in-game. Robbing is certainly not everything I'll do in this game, I want to host radio channels, be a cop or start a business. it's just a feature that fits the universe of identity where everything is possible. Please don't assume that I want this game to be darkrp just because of this one feature which will be entirely different to the one in darkrp. Also don't tell people to fuck off just because they don't have the same opinion as you.

1 pointAn answer to your question is pretty simple, yes. The group known as the FFA (fruit freedom army ) was created a while ago. we played games like tf2 and payday! I know it seems a bit odd, but it has its origins.

1 pointIndeed, the consumption of food products and water should not be the main priority within the game. However, death should be inevitable if one neglects consuming any food or water for more than a few days. Stages: 1. Bloated (May lead to vomiting) 2. Full (Refrain from overeating food products) 3. Content (Content, yet capable of eating more food products) 4. Slight hunger (Secure, yet recommended that a player should consume a meal) 5. Hungry (Decrease in productivity) 6. Starving (Decrease in productivity while being at the brink of undergoing health issues) 7. Malnourished/Famished (Health issues begin to arise, resulting in the inability to even walk at a normal rate) 8. Clinical (MUST travel to a hospital or contact the local EMS) 9. Unconscious (A witness or bystander must report that the player has been unconscious in order to be revived with medical treatment) 10. Dead (Loss of a small percentage of wealth) The first five stages should remain common as long as one consumes meals on a daily basis. However, subjects should "starve" if individuals labour extensively without consuming any water or food products throughout the entire day. Finally, subjects shall be malnourished for refraining from consuming any food products for more than a few days. Eventually, it shall be clinical to the extent that one should seek medical assistance due to the lack of nutrition within one's body. Otherwise, the subject shall be unconscious prior to undergoing death. One should be expected to consume nutritional food products, as-well. One cannot merely survive on consuming cookies and cakes throughout the entire week.

1 pointPlatoon C would be a platoon that handles for example big disturbance of large groups, hunt down people with arrest warrants on them. They could also do patrol with more equipment or are generally trained for more dangerous situations or situations with lifes on the line. Could also be something else such as a motorcade division, COMPSTAT division, High Speed Pursuit Division, or much more things. The draft I made is just an example and it's totally possible to add more or remove some divisions from the department.

1 pointYea, no pay to win as you will only be able to buy cosmetic items which won't give you an advantage over other players.

1 pointFrank: "No were going to need a whole lot more than 5 million. However, we don't have to build our own. The old Ace High casino is gonna close pretty soon. The place is sturdy. We just buy them out, pump a few million into that place, gut the interior, put new stuff, get our licenses, fix up the outside a bit and it'll be good as new. I got a connection in ash hill that could do the decorating for a discount and our friend in the Senate will speed up the process for our gambling licences."

1 pointHi Shadow, The business plan was developed quite far back when there weren't a lot of concepts set in stone for game design. Today, we have the home security services in place for various reasons. Our Regular Home Security Package monitors the perimeter of your home 24/7 with state-of-the-art intelligence technology and provides customer support in the event something happens. An example for this use would be if someone is threatening you and your family inside of your home and it is unsafe to leave your house. You might want to call the police force but there is little they can do before something happens and prioritize critical situations over threats. With our Premium Home Security Package, perimeters are now monitored both by our systems but also a personal security guard. Our clients are the most innovative, successful, and influential people in Identity, so we know how important security is and that people may target them at their homes, a very vulnerable area. This package also includes a transportation vehicle suited to get you and your loved ones out of an unsafe situation securely. Please visit our website here where packages of our services are displayed for further information: http://aegissecurity.wixsite.com/aegis/purchase Thank you for your feedback! 1 pointThere won't be a career out of the racing thing, but you could always do it underground like as its a illegal thing already but yes it would make a good thing in the far future. The second career has already been mentioned and well the answer was sadly a no as because it will take a lot of network resources which they need for other things and so it won't be possible. ( I also wish that it would come true in the far future.)

1 pointIf so, using anything you can grab should be integrated into the game. Drink my cup of coffee, or smash my half cup upon a dome piece? Play pool, or beat somebody with it til it breaks? While carrying my brief case to work, it turns into a tooth removal kit? Just a thought.
