2 points*Frank walks in the backroom of the club, Antonio and Paulie behind him. He hangs up his leather jacket, and pours himself a dram of whisky. Frank: "Hey boys, what going on? By the way did you hear that a new high rise condo was just proposed for Schuyler heights? That's close to our turf and that means they should build the condos with our concrete, if they don't want that building to fall. Hehe, you know what I mean?"

2 pointsWill do man! Look forward to seeing you in game pal. Thank you, it was really just something that came to mind, as The Warriors is one of my all-time favorite films.

2 points*After sitting for a few minutes and collecting his thoughts, Kevin grabs his gun off of the table and heads out to his Velociraptor. He climbs into the truck, and places the handgun in its spot in the center console. Kevin drives through the business sector, stopping at his other shop just on the outskirts. He unlocks the door and heads inside, where he sets to work on the 1968 Mustang GT still sitting on the lift. As he works he starts muttering to himself* "Great going genius, it's bad enough having the mob higher ups expecting you to work on their expensive cars, but now you have started getting involved with the fucking Yakuza" *Kevin hears the chime of the door opening out front, so he heads out to see who it is, grabbing a large wrench off the table* "Hey who's there, we're closed today"

2 pointsIt'd be cool if you could indulge in dif. activities in jail instead of having to sit there doing nothing the entire time (like how Arma life jails are ). If you could establish a fighting career in jail (through an underground illegal fight club like Mafia 2/Luke Cage had), have a better cell if you had a powerful position prior to being jailed, work out in the recreational yard, have corrupt correctional officers (through RP), have the ability to pay bail, shank rival gang members in the cafeteria, etc. then that'd be amazing. You should also be able to make money (maybe through fighting, trade) or even establish a reputation for your character to set yourself up for when you are released (if you wanted to join a gang, form a group, get jail connections, etc.) You should also be allowed to leave whenever you want (of course after serving your min. jail term depending on the crime). When you are ready to leave and you've served the min. amount of time, you could request to "modify your sentence" and ask the judge to be released early (just to follow RP), ultimately allowing your release. Anyways, just an idea, if you'd like to build off/take some pieces from it go right ahead. Maybe busting yourself out and living as a fugitive could be an option? (with the help of friends. etc.) Overall the game looks great! Keep up the good work dev team, can't wait to play it.
-
2 pointsAfter you server your sentence you can choose to stay longer!!!! (confirmed by a developer) Ok, so there will be a lot of different activities in the jail you can do and its already been stated by the developers "it is like a whole new game in prison"

1 pointWe at Asylum Entertainment are very excited to tell you, our community, how you will be able to get into the game sooner than you think! Identity's modules are small portions of Identity which will be released before Identity is ready for the world. This lets you experience part of the game months sooner than otherwise possible. The first module you'll be getting your hands on is a social environment which we've called Town Square. The Town Square will include all major social components, and will allow you to finally create and customize your characters. You can meet hundreds of new people and explore several cool features of the peaceful city life. For more details on Town Square, check out the modules page on the Identity website. Following the release of Town Square you'll experience SWAT player versus player action and eventually vehicle races of all sorts. We'll be bringing you more information on the modules as they progress!

1 pointHello everyone! Some of you might remember that I had a thread on the old forum with an Imgur album containing all pictures posted by the developers on Twitter and Facebook. I just wanted to let you all know, both those who might have seen it but had forgot about it, aswell as new people who found it just now that it still exists and is updated as soon as a new picture is released. You can access it here, feel free to use it (or not use it) however you like. Take care!

1 pointWelcome to the LPU (Liberal Progress Union) ! In this party, we care about the people and the economy, but it is our duty to make as many people happy as possible all at once! As our name suggests, we care about bringing people together as well as progressing our economy to the highest it will ever be! With a dedicated team of staff, we will lead you and all of your friends into the future that you want! What we offer We offer a fair society, everyone gets a fair trail and a free decent lawyer to go with it! Our team of dedicated lawyers will lead you through the tough times and will try as hard as they can to ensure your bail. We want to increase the amount of Police to ensure your safety on the walkways and in cars. We will keep taxes to a minimum to keep our economy thriving and so all of you people out there pay an equal percentage! ( This of course will need to be checked with other things first to ensure this, such as if we wanted to add free healthcare and education as well as free transport for the working class then taxes would most likely rise by a large %!) We wont be stuck in our offices all day, we will be out there talking with you to see what YOU think, and how we could improve things! Our website : www.lpuparty.wixsite.com/homepage We are open to discussions and are looking for new members to push our ideas forwards! We will see YOU on the other side! 1 pointHello, world. My name really is Jared. Before I get started, I would like to disappoint everyone with the following information: I am not a Subway pedophile, who is related to Peter Parker, and owns a jewelry store. I come from a military family, so I have called many places home. There is one city that I have moved back to five times now, and it's in Florida. In that sense, I consider myself to be from Florida, though I was not born here. To further disappoint you, I do not ride my pet alligator to Publix on my way to Disney World. Currently, I am seeking part-time employment, while studying full time at a university with cybersecurity as my major. At school, I am a member of a youth activist organization known as Turning Point USA, and I plan on joining AFROTC. Outside of school, I am a fledgling and not yet a full member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. As for my interests, I love to think. Philosophy, strategy, life plans, you name it. I love being academically engaged. That said, of course I love the rigorous sport of chess! Man, I get myself shaking from the adrenaline from a good chess game! Some hobbies of mine include reading, computer gaming, and airsoft. Some other interests include history (especially medieval), philosophy (already mentioned), politics, crafting (currently, I am working on chainmail, a European 4-in-1 aventail and an Asian 4-in-1 Korean Swajegap), and learning in general. I've been on the forum for a little bit now, having taken a break from studying for my last final, and so far, I am liking this community. I look forward to getting to know this community. Regards, Jared

1 pointso i know someone already asked about what kind of smart phones we're going to have, and i agree with them that having different smart phones or being able to choose the os that you like more would be great... also smart flip phones like in japan maybe? possibly? too weeby, okay. just drop kick that idea. my actual question//suggestion is the features that a phone can do. will people have their own unique number or some sort of idea that can be used for texting or calling people? will you be able to call or text a person if you have them in your address book? would the two then be forced to be in the same server in order to call or text? i would think of texting as like private messaging. i get that you can call for authorities, but will those be the only people you can call or could you call your friends? i think if you're making a call or typing a text your character should do some animation like you're calling or texting(depending on which one you're doing). then i understand facefile is facebook, but will facefile be used as a sort of character look up system? like if you have a name for a character will you be taken to their profile and be able to add them to your friends from there or is there going to be a requirement of meeting in game to add people? will phones have little game you can play, and will these games be ones made by the staff or will there be a sort of coding language in game that a person could use to make a game and make money that way? or even like every month or something have a poll with a bunch of different games made by the community, and whichever one gets the most votes will be added to the game. would we be able to choose which games we had on our phones and which we don't want to have?

1 point*Rosso checks his phone while he watches the three truck leave the driveway of the hanger. He puts his phone back into his pocket, grabs his keys, and gets into his car. He reaches over and places his coat on the passengers seat before starting the car and begins leaving the hanger.* "Jesus, its really coming down. I can barely see" *whispers to himself* *Rosso reaches over to turn the windshield wipers on but before he can, out of the corner of his eye he sees a man come into view in front of his vehicle. He hits on his brakes and comes to a skidding halt. Looking up he sees a man in nothing but a tee and jeans. Rosso lets down his window and calls out to the man* "Hey, what the hell are you doing out here. Its almost ten, its like forty outside and it's pouring... go home!" *Rosso lets up the window, waits for the man to pass by, and then gently eases out of the shipyard entrance and starts to head home* ((Next day, since everyone seems to be on the next day)) *Rosso wakes up and rolls over to check the time.* "Eight forty four, hmm" *He walks over to the edge of the bedroom and steps out onto the balcony and takes a deep breathe in before leaning over and resting both arms on the railing. Down on his pajama pants he feels a little tug and looks down to see his pup playing tug-of-war with his pants leg.* "Hey hey hey, why you got to be so destructive? Its to early to be restless." *He smiles and picks the little pup up* "Jeez your getting too big for this, lets go get a bite" *Rosso puts the pup down on his bed and goes into the bathroom to changes into dark blue jeans and a white collared polo. He comes out and gabs his phone, wallet, glasses and then snaps his fingers to signal the pup to follow. He gets downstairs into the garage and walk over to a table with a wooden bowl full of car keys. Looking down at the pup and sighs* "Alright its your turn" *He picks up the pup and sets it on the table next to the bowl of keys. The pup goes face first into the bowl and pulls out Ferrari keys in its jaws. Rosso puts out his hand and the pup puts the keys in his hand* "The 488 huh? You just like the convertible top." *He grabs the pup and walks over to the white 488 Spyder and sets the pup in the passenger seat. He starts the car, opens the garage and gate, and takes off down the road towards the diner.*

1 pointIdea - JOB ARTICLES I Think it would be cool if someone looking for a job could go to a building which contains articles for jobs around the area. These articles could be placed by business owners looking for new employees or the game could generate jobs every once in a while. This would allow People to easily spread news that they are looking for an employee. They could also have specific needs on that CV where people would be rejected if they did not have them (e.g Driving licence, Experience) You could also have it where multiple people could give in submissions and the owner of the business could pick the person that they feel would be good for their job (they may be able to organise interviews). I feel like they could also add Training where a specific person would need a certain training licence on their 'CV' to do that job. The Employer would need to pay a fee to put it on the article so it would be a fair system. This would help the employer , looking for people, the employee, finding that job. It could also open up illegal activities like CV forgery so they could get that job or people could hire an employee and take them hostage. This is just an idea, if anyone has any other improvements please let me know. - JT

1 pointMy opinion is that if somebody is pissing about on a role play server with no intention to stop within say a few minutes, they should just be insta banned. The people who want to roleplay will keep roleplaying, the ones who mess about clearly aren't that bothered about roleplay full stop.

1 pointThe Gentlemans Club is rising up slowly but surly. Currently at 14 members and rising every day. It's nice to see people so interested in this club and want to say a big thank you to all those who have joined and want to invite those who are thinking of joining. I can definitely say we will all have to get involved in a hunt and a feast once the game releases as a thank you and welcome. Jolly good show old chaps! Herzog

1 pointHello Joelkeys my good sir, I have recently posted a new "Union" so to speak for men and woman of only the utmost honor. You sir seem to be of the fitting category. The Platinum Club as we have come to calling it a prestigious formation of high class people on which the very foundation is built upon us, the rich, the famous, the leaders, and the powerful. Our goal is simple; to control and manipulate the production and distribution of high end goods and resources throughout the island of Identity, and of course to retain a healthy profit from doing so, as well as to increase our wealth and status or at least maintain it throughout the game world.. We are currently accepting CEO's of affluent businesses such as the one you own yourself, Celebrities, and of course political figures to hold sway over the commoners of Identity. You sir would make a stunning edition to the Platinum Club, and we would love to have you aboard. Please reply on this post or PM me if you would prefer if you would like any further details, or if you are interested in joining the club. More information can also be found on my post found in the business section of the forums. Cheers, Bob Ross, CEO of Bob Ross: Promoter of Fine Art, and Founder of The Platinum Club

1 pointOh you got to have the option to be an undercover cop, infiltrating at all levels, from the streets to the corporations, including budgets on request to fit in and buy product or pay for undercover life style, when some one is suspected but there's insufficient evidence. This job possibly stemming from internal affairs job success. Also tattoo removal.

1 pointSit down for a minute and consider the complexities of running/owning a server for Identity. We're talking about putting into place all the systems you'd need for a fully functioning US State IF (note the big if there) you want to take advantage of everything this game will offer. So a political system, all your emergency services.... Fire, Medical & Police, a functioning judicial system, prison service etc etc.....think about it, it's mind boggling. The scope for this game is enormous, huge, beyond anything we've seen to date. Or....you can rent a server and let people run around shooting each other. I know which one I'm aiming for.

1 pointYou won't lose the apartment, the apartment is permanent on all servers, but it don't include what you changed in the server that closed down. (if you got it in a pledge) Well don't work and buy a house if you can't keep getting on every week to pay its bills.

1 pointI could not bother to read all the comments and my apologies for that. I just want to know how you will pay the government officials, how you will get elected by the 1% and how you will get voted on by government officials considering the taxes are what pays them. Capitalism is what the world runs on and it is beautiful. This is not capitalism. This is a liberalistic -socialistic party in my sight. Please explain a bit more how you will drive the jobs of taxers, bankers, and other jobs connected.

1 pointYesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

1 pointToday we publish the first Identity Insider update, bringing you detailed information about key systems in Identity. Our website has expanded with a small page detailing corporations and their classes, also available below: Corporations in Identity You've made a lot of cash working odd jobs, or maybe even the odd less-than-legal task; now that you've had a taste of success, it's time to forge an empire. Corporations will allow the successful with a little extra cash to become driving forces in Identity's dynamic economy. Corporations are organizations similar to, but separate from, gangs and other social structures. They have the added ability of owning assets and issuing work orders to their real-player employees. Some assets, such as the largest cargo trucks, are available only to corporations. Once formed, the corporation is assigned a telephone number for public contact and the director (owner) can build a logo using an in-game design tool. It's then time to hire a staff and get to work. Classes of Corporations Delivery Delivery corporations can buy large vehicles for big hauls, vehicles not available to the general public. While any player can deliver goods in vehicles such as vans, to get the big-bucks you'll need to join a corporation. Legal Let's face it, crimes happen and criminals are going to be arrested. They'll need someone on the outside to convince the jury that they did nothing wrong. This is where legal corporations come into play, and their services aren't always cheap. Transportation People need to get from point A to point B and they don't always have the means to do that themselves. Transportation corporations own special vehicle assets including taxis and more, helping those in need get where they need to be. Manufacturing From the shoes on your feet to the sofa under your seat, almost everything in Identity is built and crafted by other players. Manufacturing corporations give their employees access to a wider variety of constructables and resources, for a cut of the profits. Always Expanding As with most things in Identity, we at Asylum will constantly be expanding this system adding new classes of corporations and building on those already available. Identity's release is only the beginning. If you have any ideas for a well-suited corporation class, let us know on the forums.

1 pointHello citizens! It's been too long since our last developer blog entry, so I wanted to take the time today to update all of our backers on Identity's current state of development, as well as give a little more insight into the process behind the scenes. During the first year and a bit of development, most of the time was spent developing key backend systems. Networking modifications, weapon physics, character customization, voice communication and so on. That's all behind us now, and I'm happy to say it's gone as well as we could have hoped. Now and for the past couple of months we've moved on to gameplay development, making those backend features do the fun stuff. This Month in Development In this last month our lead character artist, Miroslav, has finished up everything we need for your characters going into the Town Square release. We're always going to be adding more character customizations over time, but to start you'll have the choice between 4 male and 5 female race options. After selecting your base race you can customize further with skin tones, blemishes, scars, eye color, hair styles, hair colors and tweaks to facial features. Identity is expanding on the usual character customization, though, as some of the options available can only be gotten through achievements. Prison tattoos are an example; if you see someone with such a tattoo you know they've done something to earn it. A lot of work this month has also gone into the player housing systems. In following our previous messages, our home customization system has been in place for some months although we've been expanding the floorplans in preperation for the Town Square module release. Sean, or Motown as you may know him, has prepared the various apartments you will have in the Town Square. If you have made a smaller pledge to Identity and do not have an apartment yet, we're going to be giving you access to a temporary (small) home in the Town Square so that you can play with the cusomization features. If you've pledged for a package containing an apartment, Town Square will show what you'll have in the full Identity game upon release. Just this morning our lead programmer, Henrik (AKA Mathalion), finished up the karaoke systems. It's a minor feature for Identity as a whole, but it's going to be loads of fun in the Town Square module! Just off the lobby of the hotel is a slick little bar, complete with a karaoke stage. You'll be able to queue up your favorite songs on the karaoke machine and see the lyrics on one of the monitors around the stage. The microphone on the stage really works, too, amplifying your voice out of the speakers so that your singing can be heard by everyone there! Most of us are terrible singers, so karaoke is going to have a lot of hilarious moments. If you're just there to watch, the restaurant by the stage is fully functional, too! It's Been Too Long I'll just come right out and say it: we at Asylum Entertainment have really had poor PR these last months, and you guys deserve better. You deserve much more frequent updates, and we're committing to give you that moving forward. We're a relatively small development team today. Currently a core staff of 5 incredibly talented full-time developers, I'm amazed every day with what this team can accomplish. Outside of our core we have a handful of part-time workers, mostly artists, who are also very skilled. Because we're a small team, many of us have to wear several hats. For example, Sean is our community manager but also a 3D artist. I myself am the project manager, a programmer and interface developer. This leads to few resources to dedicate towards PR as there's so much work to be done on the game itself. This is something we knew though, and we're going to set some time aside regularly to keep you in the loop. The Town Square module is coming soon. We're in the final months of 2016 now, and you'll finally be inside the first piece of the Identity world in the first quarter of 2017. It's a little later than we originally hoped since we're dedicated to making sure everything is smooth and stable from the first moments. Identity is an enormous undertaking, but the most difficult bits are behind us and we're drawing near! What to Expect The first stage of game development is always very boring to talk about, and also doesn't give us much to show you. Creating those backend systems that drive the game behind the scenes is one of the most important phases, but it's not very glamorous. It's for this reason that most games aren't announced until they're a couple years into development. Now that we're past that point, we're going to be able to start showing you real Identity gameplay. The first gameplay video you'll see is going to be in November and will show you just how detailed and in-depth Identity is becomming! You'll see a walkthrough of our housing system, showing just how far it can be customized and some of the cool fun features you'll find in there. Following that video we'll give you a glimpse of the Town Square features, leading up to its release. It's been a ton of work and a long time coming, but we're moving forward at a great pace and everything is about to get very exciting over here.

1 pointIt doesn't matter. What do you have against creativity. Let us be. We aren't gonna stop just because you post the same unnecessary paragraph over and over again. Btw this is a role play community. We know this stuff isn't real yet but at least we are coming up with something to do while we wait. And it's also practice for those who aren't the best at roleplay. Not trying to be harsh but we don't need you to give us a reality check bud.
-
1 pointObviously this was well thought about, great idea :) I'd like to see it in-game, good luck.

1 pointFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
