I'm pissed off, not about the fact that the game is delayed releasing , but the lack of communication and dare I say "lying" to feed us misinformation. If you've found more bugs that need patching pre-release, fine, just tell us! If you forgot to upload the game in time for a deadline, fine! Just tell us. Otherwise you keep people in the dark and that's when you lose them. We don't mind waiting. We mind not knowing.

Ive been here for almost 3 years waiting on this and im still gonna wait. Yes im disappointed, but theres no point crying about it. The devs will work it out thats their job.

On everyones behalf I am sorry for how everyone acted. I dont think people realize that this is what happens to most indie games at launch. I just hope you guys can work hard to fix all the big bugs and that the community can settle down so we can get this show back on the road Cheers, Aidos

The good news is all those who are flaming right now will not be in the game with us. I am willing to wait more.

It's not even been 24 hours since the ''release''. Lets stay positive.

Honestly, it's SOOOOO ANNNOYYINGGGG. I knew about this game ever since it was first announced and I'm not mad AT ALL about there being issues, it's expected. This is why people don't like doing stuff for others because of this very reason. Keep on they're going to abandon the game and y'all will really be mad. GTA online had the same problem starting off and its ran by a huge company. It was playable at first, but now they're trying to fix it. THIS IS A SMALL TEAM, so STOP.

I get why people are upset, I was disappointed as well, not what I was expecting and my expectations were low. Although they're working on it and my hopes are still up, I believe they can turn this whole situation around do something great, they'll have to work harder, though. Also, for those who haven't been paying attention, it's been said multiple times that Town Square is a socialization module, I'm not sure what you were expecting other than a ''glorified chat room''.

Not disappointed, I expected this. The game is hugely ambitious, and the development team is inexperienced. If this had been a Rockstar game I would have been disappointed, but it isn't - it's a major game being developed by inexperienced developers, so many people have just placed unrealistic expectations on it. Frankly I think what has been created so far is beautiful and promising.

Doesn't took long to realize it was another lie on top of all previous lies... Seems like all they were talking about bugs they have to fix and stuff they have to do is just pile of lies... Im actually terrified about peoples here still justifying all lies they made and hoping they will fix all that and eventually release it.... My first kickstarter i backed, and last one for sure.

I was a little disappointed about the release, but I still have hope for this game as well. : )

I believe that these issues shall be resolved within the next week.

I honestly can't say i'm surprised. 4 years. 4. years. They have no excuse. I was banned from their discord for no reason. I don't know how to request a refund, but I want one.

A game like this can't be made by beginners. Perhaps they thought UE4 would do the job but the true is that when it starts to scale up, it gets harder and harder. And at that moment, you need someone with experience, someone who have already created a videogame on that system. Not even mentioning a guy who specifically takes care of networking code. Here are my suggestions, of course it's an opinion: 1) You did a great KS campaign. Somehow, you demostrated us how passionate you are about this project. Nonetheless, the team hasn't the skills for making it. Why not merging with a gaming studio? 2) Go and learn UE4 from scratch. Or go to college and study CS. Maybe you guys skipped lots of important concepts and tried to start a game without programming experience. 3) Shut this down and wait until Arma 4 comes out or work on designing a roleplay server on GTA V. Personally, I would go with (3). Of course, you can decide to stay with the main plan: 4) The game is unfinished, but magically someday it will be the game we all want. So "stop with the negative comments". I wonder if Steam can remove this game from the list...

I 100% agree with you on that. No matter who it is or wat they're doing, seeing such harsh backlash will interfere with at least something. As I've been told, never criticize unless you have a solution, or an alternative. A lot of anger has just devolved into the developers being inept at something they've dedicated years of their lives to.

The servers are offline, so you won't be able to play. It's "broke" because this is basically pre-alpha, and the TS hasn't even been out 12 hours. They couldn't fix bugs and glitches that they didn't know existed. The module released and these issues were discovered, and therefor need to be fixed. This is how game development works, and this will continue to be a common occurrence over the next couple of years as the base is polished and new modules are released. If you can't handle the development process, stay away until the end game is finished. There will be a lot of development issues, so there's no point in getting upset over it now.

They've published the first module to Steam - It's clearly not a scam, just not what you were expecting. Move on.

I am understanding his point. This game hasn't been in development for 4 years, it required a kickstarting funding before anything could begin. Also, people are expecting Rockstar development from a small team of brand new inexperienced developers with limited resources. Many games take years to become anything worth playing, especially if they're developed by small companies. This is an ambitious game being created by a small team of amateur developers, something that has currently only been done by major gaming companies with ample experienced staff and near endless resources. You're expecting a Lamborghini when you're paying for a Chevy Spark.

Please read before commenting So the launch happened last night. So what went wrong? The biggest problem I saw while reading through discord and the forums while trying to play the game was Identity was put into a lose, lose position. They had the choice of launching the game knowing it's buggy and unstable or delay it and have people complain and freak out again. By no means am I going to defend what they released and the argument of "They aren't AAA developers" is bad as well, at launch I would expect any game to at least let me open it without the UI being bugged and I have to task manager out of it. I also saw that many people said "They weren't forced to release it" and again I'd argue that they were. If you want examples read the replies people made to the tweets, and look at what happened last time. I very much liked this quote people made the last time it was delayed. "I'm sick and tired of being lied to". Once again I'm not going to defend the launch of Town Square, I do very much feel that the developers got put into a lose lose situation. Now how could this have been avoided? So first off I know how hard it is to make a game, especially a multiplayer one. So I don't think delaying the game would have been the answer sue to the fact that they had people playing and testing it for a while before release, we as a community are the biggest bug finders because what do we like to do? Break games. So if delaying the game wasn't the answer then what is? Well this should have happened a while back, better PR. The developers and this game are so closed off from this community, it is stupid. If you look at the game Ready or Not, that community was promised a beta and a trailer in July, they still haven't gotten the trailer, however the developers are constantly interacting with the community on the sub-reddit. This might not be giving information out, but just being apart of the community and interacting, if you look at that community it's a lot of shit posts but it's not a toxic community like this one has become. The devs should become more transparent and interact with the community more, either that be one a week dev blogs or just talking on the forums. TL;DR: I see the launch as identity was in a lose lose, so they pushed the game. The Devs should have been more open and transparent from the start, and they need to start being transparent and open with us.

They better be getting their asses in considering their shit pile of a game is sinking faster than the titanic

Perhaps if people were more patient, and after all most of those who were complaining actually backed it, you wouldn't need to apologise.

I am certain that they will manage to fix most things when time goes on. All we can do as we have done for years is wait.

You don't wana miss out on the "EXCLUSIVE IN-GAME HAT" Are you kidding me?! I payed 8 € for a damn hat?! And what happende to the "You won't be able to get early access once the firt module is out" I pre-ordered it to have that "exclusive" gameplay and now the ones that didn't buy it gets it for cheaper?!

Give the devs a chance to make up for this unfortunate start. It's very early to judge the game. Fingers crossed, it will be an amazing game over time.

I must say. I am a little disappointed. All of the waiting and ive still not managed to get a lick of gameplay from this. Ive been waiting so long for this day to come and hoped that the game would be ready to go. Its just such a shame to see so much money, time and effort go into this. I would have at least hoped i could browse the menu without it breaking. Despite my honest opinion. Im still rooting for the devs. If they are gonna make their dream come true, they will do it in due time. Keep up the good work guys and please try to fix this im dying to play over here.

Expect the game to never release. When it does, you're pleasantly surprised, and you skip all the stress that most of you are having now.

Seems like a lot of people are expecting the full game or beta to be released with this Town Square module. The devs have said countless times that this is just a small part of a town (social area) where you will be able to see features the game will have to offer. Streamers are even so dense that I heard one saying he doesn't see how the 3 modules will make a full game when the town square is so small. I am a kickstarter backer of identity and everyone needs to be patient with it. You aren't going to lose a leg if it doesn't come out today and there is no reason to stress out the devs over what is essentially a preview of features. Yes, they said it was coming out way earlier and never did, delayed. Yes they do lack highly on PR and a proper response to the issue which is holding them back from releasing today, Nov 30th like they said they would, but some people need to calm down here with the "scam" accusations and be a little more patient than you are wanting to be. And to the developers, keep up the great work in development; Get much better at PR please and keep us more up to date on issues especially when they are happening. Nothing worse than the developers MIA without much of a word on what is going on and everyone waiting around for something to come out. tldr; I think everyone can afford to be a bit more patient for something that is essentially a "demo" of features and not even the full game rather than freaking out over it not going live as expected due to some sort of error.

Release Yourself When Ready Once your page has been approved, you will need to use the green "Release App" button that appear on the top of your product landing page in Steamworks at the time you wish to release your title.Approved titles will not release themselves -- you need to use these controls yourself at the moment you wish your product to be released. You can check our Release Options documentation for more information on the types of releases we support. SO DAGTAG COME BACK WITH SOMETHING YOU KNOW ABOUT. Btw i work for Rockstar Edinburgh so i know when something is submitted to steam and it goes on a countdown its up to the makers to release it then. stop blaming steam

Keep in mind that Asylum is a small company which is making a game which big companies such as EA or Bethesda haven´t even thought of.

I tried to stay positive... but this launch and all the issues the people who did get to play mentioned... just proves how poorly this development team has put this game together... and their pr is terrible

Lol hard to keep faith after hearing NOT EVEN GETTING TO PLAY YET. How horribly riddled and unplayable it is. We expected bugs not a pile of shit.

Very disappointed after 4 years of waiting for the official launch. Full of bugs, unplayable you have to hope can be another 4 years like DayZ to have a content worthy of name. Let's keep faith ....

well yeah. even if they launched, does not mean you can get in towns square. had launched it, but never got further than buggy char creation screen.

    1. Its a little buggy right now and 2. i believe the servers are down until they fix said bugs.

I agree that the release was kinda disappointing, but I'm sure the devs will fix the problem. I believe you can contact support through email or something like that for a refund but I'm guessing it may take awhile because the devs are probably addressing the current issue, don't take my word for it though. Have a nice day, brother.

Kind of glad i only put in the $30 for this game. Weird how Fallout 76 is getting all the shit over a bag...at least the game works. We shall see tho. Im sure the devs will get it working.

No, Asylum is lying to us about the game releasing. The dev pushes the button on letting the game out, search it up. They are lying because they fucked something up or they are embarrassed because they fucking lied to us again.

@jjustgreg In the Twitch clips, it's been said that it's a possibility that we will have the option to upload small images for shirts (or company logo), which will be moderated. Although, you won't see that in the modules for now.
