I'd join any server dedicated to hardcore RP! I don't plan on being a cop or anything, just a normal citizen :-) Maybe help run a food establishment or something. But if someone decides to make an RP server I'd love to join. I'd be happy to chip in for a rented server. As for the name honestly if you just put [Harcore RP] as a tag by it I think we could have a lovely community. I love helping new RPers out too and making them feel welcome, I don't like seeing Rpers giving shit to other players because they do something 'wrong' etc. I've seen it happen and I hope it doesnt happen here D:

DEV BLOG #001 Greetings Citizens, It has been just over a year since you helped successfully kick start Identity into existence! We want to thank you all for your continued support by providing you all with regular updates following the development process for Identity. Engaging with our community is one of the best ways we can show our thanks, and a development blog is a perfect opportunity for us to bring you along for the ride. As you’ve seen throughout the past year, there is no game out there that is quite like Identity, and through your support, you have proven to us that Identity is a vision worth turning into a reality! Feedback has shown us that you all really appreciate our attempts to respond to virtually every question we receive on social media. Twitter and Facebook have been a huge boost in exposure for Identity, and so it is time we begin to explore other avenues of exposure to help our community understand a bit more about the game. In the coming months, our fans will see their first glimpse of gameplay for Identity! We are all extremely excited to show off our first gameplay video, which will fully explore the mechanics of apartment and housing customization. With this video, you will see that we have stayed true to our original art direction from the original Kickstarter trailer, while maintaining high standards in realistic lighting and graphics. We can safely say that we have improved many of the areas of our design that needed attention since February last year. Apartment & Housing Customization Apartments and houses within Identity will have a fully customizable interior. You will be able to change the wall paper on every wall in every room, place furniture anywhere there is space on the ground, swap out doors, windows, baseboards, crown moulding, and even wainscoting! We have made no compromise to the level of detail in which you can customize your apartments or homes, in order to truly express your sense of home decor. With this level of control, there is virtually no chance that the interior of two homes will ever look alike. There will be hundreds of furniture items available to purchase in-game in every style and design, from traditional to contemporary. Furniture in Identity can even be crafted, sold, or traded to other players, and those who wish to try their hand at crafting hand-made furniture from a variety of materials can place a crafting table anywhere they wish inside their homes! And if you wish to share your space with a partner, friend, or even a group of friends, homes and apartments will be available for sale throughout the world that support multiple roommates depending the size of the space and how many bedrooms are available. The home-owner may even grant build permissions to any number of roommates, even visitors, to help them decorate their living space. When you are finished, invite your friends over to compliment you on your interior decorating skills! If you’re anything like us, we know you will spend more time cleaning up this virtual home than you do your real one! Radio This week, our team has also placed a lot of our development efforts into building a functioning radio system that will allow you to listen to your favorite real-world radio stations through placed radio objects inside your virtual home, or car! Yes, you can flip through the channels in your car radio, which will also broadcast to the immediate area outside your car. Imagine driving down the street and having everyone you pass know you listen to NSYNC! One other major part of this feature that we are excited to tell you about is player operated talk-shows which you can personally host, or tune-in and listen to, from your car radio or home. The way we currently have this planned out for hosts, is to have actual physical broadcast stations on the map that you can enter as a player and begin hosting your own radio talk-show. Player’s listening from their car or home can browse a list of channels currently being hosted at that very moment, and listen to you live, talking about government conspiracies and UFO’s! We are really hoping that this feature will have a major social impact for Identity. Like you, we see a lot of potential in something like this for budding stars within the community. We would absolutely love to see many of you sprout a career that started in a game we developed, and ended with us listening to your lovely voice on our actual car radio! The Town Square (Social Module) Many of you already know of, and are eagerly anticipating the release of the planned “Town Square” module that is currently still in production. While we can’t give you an exact date on when that will be ready, progress is steady, and we are as excited as you are to meet you all for the first time in a virtual environment. You may already be aware that Identity is largely influenced by a landmass in the south-eastern portion of the United States. The Town Square itself is only a small portion of a larger city built into the final version of Identity called Ash Hill, a reference to Asheville, North Carolina where we had originally planned to move Asylum’s office. We picked this area of the world particularly because it offered a wide range of geographical variance. The transition between Identity’s mix of biomes needed to feel natural, and this area offered most of what we had been looking for. As for the other cities in Identity, their influences may become more clear to you now. Myrtle Beach is obviously Turtle Beach in Identity, and Roseport is less subtle, but a mix between Atlanta and New York City. When we first started, we kept everything, including the structures and world props level to the ground, a mistake we have since corrected. We quickly realized that cities are rarely ever flat, and knew that setting that precedent now would benefit Identity in the future. The next time you see The Town Square module, we are confident that you will notice the difference compared to earlier screenshots, what such a small transformation makes for immersion in a game environment. Moving Forward We want to thank our community for being so patient with us. Over the course of the past year, we’ve seen many work-in-progress screenshots of assets destined for Identity, and while we believe they serve as a sample of the work we have already put into the game, we know that many of you are still anxious to see video. Our current priority is to get things ready to show off, or more specifically, the housing/apartment customization first. We are convinced that many of you will appreciate the time and effort we have put into this feature, so that you will be able to fully express yourself through your character and virtual home. We know we’ve been pretty quiet this past year, and the criticism we’ve heard from our fans on that through social media and the forums have not fallen on deaf ears! We will start to release regular updates through development blogs and continue to find new ways to interact with our community, to show you our gratitude for your support. You yourself can become more involved by contributing to the discussion with your ideas at www.identityrpg.com/community. We’ll see you there, and thank you again! Always remember that we are gamers too and we are as excited as you are to play Identity at launch!

Hello everyone! Some of you might remember that I had a thread on the old forum with an Imgur album containing all pictures posted by the developers on Twitter and Facebook. I just wanted to let you all know, both those who might have seen it but had forgot about it, aswell as new people who found it just now that it still exists and is updated as soon as a new picture is released. You can access it here, feel free to use it (or not use it) however you like. Take care!

@lickthecloth You must understand, Aegis is more than just a company. Our company is structured as a close knit group of people. We all have each others backs and will support the company in any way we can. This is the core of our business model. After that, the rest is easy. All we need is a good core structure, and we can do anything that we set our minds to. For the time being, that is providing the best private security you can find in Identity.

I don't think how many views we get on our thread determines if we will be able to pay our employees. We have formulated methods in order to manage this issue and like @lickthecloth said it looks good on paper, but of course anything may happen in game. Nobody knows the answer to a lot of things for this game, so we will have to wait and adjust our company plans and objectives accordingly.

Greetings Lickthecloth and welcome to the forums I don't believe I have ever stated that ASC will be big. We are training operatives with the intent of creating a quality security service with a wide range of services in order to fit the needs of all individuals in Identity. Of course the idea of a company is to make revenue, and in order to do that in the future we would need to expand, but this idea is being planned out as of now. Goals, mapping schemes, and co-ordination as a company have contributed to building a solid foundation. Without proper organization, I agree, no company would be able to expand into massive influential businesses that we see today (McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, etc). Now I am not sure what you meant by, "all the shit in your post," but I will let you clarify that in your response.

Okay, I have just had to make an account to reply to this thread, because as a gamer and student of games design / development this annoys me, I mean, sure I get that the devs wouldn't like to include "useless" NPCs, and I get that roaming NPCs aren't seen by the devs as useful, but striker has a point, there might not be enough players to bring the game world to life especially on lower population servers, they're not going to be frequent enough, and whenever I've gone into a city it's been teaming with thousands of people, I get that you think that Striker is going to go into a city full of NPCs and butcher them like he does in GTA and admittedly he might give that a shot, but the game has systems much more complex than GTA to prevent that, such as the police force, criminal records, realistic weapons limitations etc, that and the cops aren't idiotic AI which has accuracy rivaling a stormtroopers. NPCs would serve a very important role if they were included, they'd make the cities / towns etc feel more populated like you see in the real world, and a lot of people will choose to be cops and robbers, so that really doesn't leave all that many civi players in the world. (I'm aware that I layed out my point and hit it with an axe, but I really am not a master of words for say, and I've just found out about this game so I might be a million miles from what the game is about but I think I get the jist and it looks really good regardless, apologies for the massive ass paragraph which could probably suffice with a single sentence). ^.^

Looks good on paper, but I don't think it'll really be as big as you're thinking on launch. Think about scope. Would be better to start small with short term goals with all the shit in your post as more long term. That's just me though.

If you get shot not "shoot" then you will be able to limp away if you don't get shot in the head or any major areas, but you will most likely have to go hospital to get the wound fixed/ healed.

So I know that communication will be through the characters phone instead of a text box. So to send someone a message you would text them, instead of inviting someone to a party, you would call them. What I was thinking is that everyone should also have a phone number. In most mmos you can add people to your friends list, so instead we should be adding people to our contacts. This could also help with advertising, I could give my friends the number of a guy who could "get them things". Lawyers or real estate agents could put their number on a sign or billboard. I think this would make everything feel a lot more realistic and I think it would be awesome. If anyone has anything to add please do! Thanks

The town spquare is not the whole game but only a standalone part of the game. Be Patient. I believe A lot of people have been waiting from the start of the kickstarter and they are waiting patiently.

Aegis coincides with the police force, completing different objectives to provide increased security to a different demographic. While the police force is meant to serve and protect the island, Aegis operatives focus on solely their clients thus increasing efficiency and security for those individuals.

Thank you for your input. Our thread isn't as updated as we would like, so I apologize for that. I am not sure why SAS wasn't up there because we have referred to their unit on numerous occasions and also unsure why JTF2 wasn't up their either because I am Canadian and they are kick-ass

Hi Geoobomac, ASC provides employees with custom uniforms which will be designed when more information regarding clothing customization and design are released in the game. Early concepts of what the uniforms will look like are in design phase, so we may see what ASC uniforms look like down the line. The ASC uniform will include hat / helmet, shirt, pants, and boots. As of now, weapons and equipment will be purchased by the employee from our partner Donaldson & Guns with a discount. With our associated partners, we get specials on drinks, discounts on gear and services, as well as access to an exclusive employee database on our site.

So will you guys supply your operatives with the weapons and gear needed? Also, considering you'll be able to make your own clothing, would you get custom uniforms?

It would be cool if you could work at the morgue and you have to deliver corpses, and burn them, that way they wouldn't stay there forever but they also wouldn't just disappear, and theres more jobs available.

I have recently heard of this game and have been psyched ever since. I've been waiting for a game like this all of my life but no one has ever been able to deliver. Identity has the best chance of making my dream game come true so I desperately hope at least some of my suggestions can be implemented in the game. 1) Freedom of Choice: This is the most important aspect of the game I'm looking forward to. I've always wanted to play a game that is focused mainly on the Sims aspect of real life as opposed to a game like GTA 5 that is basically just a game focused on criminality with limited option to do anything else. I want to have the freedom to lead my own life without being forced to engage in any type of activity. I know Identity is being built mainly as a police/criminal type of game but the ability to add non-criminal gameplay in addition to the detailed Sims aspect of the game makes this game ideal. My main suggestion here is please focus more on the non-criminal aspect of the game, try to make non-police non-criminal aspects/activities/careers of the game just as detailed and comprehensive if possible. 2) Realism: Realism is another big issue for me, making the game as real as possible would be perfect. My suggestions here are making the day/night cycle much longer than in GTA 5. You want to really enjoy each time of day without it passing by in just a few short minutes. I wouldn't even mind having to wait for my character to sleep for a decent while at nights if that's what it takes. I understand some players may not want this so having different servers with different settings could accommodate all types of players. Other suggestions are realistic walking/running speed unlike GTA 5 where first person mode always had you running. Realistic stamina so you wouldn't be able to run indefinitely like in GTA 5. Realistic season changes if possible. Realistic trash/waste/dirt forcing the player to do regular cleanup of the house/office, putting out trash, and washing clothes/etc. Bigger city sizes: if possible please make the cities bigger than Los Santos in GTA 5. Though Los Santos had a decent size a bigger city would be a lot more immersive and fun especially with lots of available activities. 3) Careers/Jobs: Please try to add as many different jobs/careers as possible. This is extremely important in giving the player freedom of choice and lots of options to explore. It will really increase the game's replayability. Here're some suggestions: - Doctor: Instead of having an EMT that heals players it would be a lot more fun if you had an ambulance driver who'd delivery emergency patients to a hospital where a player doctor would do the healing/surgery/etc. The doctor could take care of both "dead"/severely injured players as well as treat regular patients with common sicknesses. - Financial manager: Someone who will invest/trade for other players assuming there will be a decent and dynamic stock/commodity exchange in the game. - Garbage man: Assuming there would be trash in the game, waste management worker(s) could take everyone's trash once a week using a garbage truck. - Postal worker: Instead of delivering mail directly have a post office where the post office worker receives and delivers all player mails. - Regular office work that could somehow relate to other aspects/jobs in the game (examples> DMV where players would need to renew their registration/license/get car inspections/etc. Insurance worker, realtor, accountant, etc.) - Hotel manager: Assuming there will be hotels/motels where players could stay when out of town. - News reporter/anchor: You could be a reporter or anchor either filming real in game events or reporting on them, could include weather, business, and sports news as well. - Cook: With real cooking where you'd have to correctly use ingredients and process them correctly, etc. - Gym trainer: Where you help people in the gym. This could give a strength boost to the player working out giving them results faster so they'd have an incentive to hire a trainer. - Lawn maintenance: Where you have to maintain people's lawns and landscape - Cleaning service: Where you clean other players' houses, businesses, yachts, etc. - Regular jobs like managing a store/business, attending doors, bouncer, farm worker, assistant of all types, security, dog walking, etc. Some of these jobs can also be done by AI in the absence of players. 4) Activities: Please for the love of god include A LOT of activities in this game. One of the biggest let downs of GTA 5 was that it had a big map with very little to do. Almost none of the buildings could be entered and a lot of easily programmable activities were not included. Here're my suggestions in this area: - Allow players to enter/explore as many buildings as possible even if they're not directly related to the game. - Allow players to interact with as many things as possible, little things add up and go a long way to significantly increase immersion, a lot of it is easily programmable. In GTA 5 for example they had built a theme park but you could only do two quick activities there even though the structure for much more games/rides/activities were already built. - Sports: Soccer and basketball are the two most important but any additional ones would be welcome. Sports should include skill levels that increase the more you play. Your stamina/endurance/strength would also affect your performance. - Snow/ice activities/sports like hockey, skating, snowboarding, skiing, or just sliding down the mountain on a sled. - Public swimming, tanning, spa, billiards (pool), air hockey, arcade games, cycling, jogging, hiking, camping, kite flying, frisbee, flying drones (with camera if possible), etc. - An extensive gym system with lots of available machines/free weights/treadmills/etc. requiring a player to go through a decent routine and spend some time there regularly to become fit. 5) Businesses: Once again it would be great if you could include as many businesses as possible, some could require a direct player involvement, some could be done by AI. Here're some suggestions: - Parking Garage/Lot: Someplace players can park their cars for a fee, great for busy locations with limited parking space! - Laundromat: Where players can have their clothes washed - Restaurants and cafes - Bars, clubs, and lounges - Internet cafes - Malls, regular stores of all types - Car washes and auto shops - Tanning salons, spa, barber shops, arcades, etc. 6) Other: - College/University: Perhaps you'd need to get a degree for certain jobs like medicine where you're required to sit in long/boring lectures every day for some time before you're qualified. This will ensure only patient/interested players could go through the process to get the job same as real life. - Park-o-meter on some locations? - Online business rating where players can rate businesses. This will ensure the businesses who do a good job get more clients just like in real life. - Game events have consequences in different areas. For example if there is going to be a dynamic stock exchange a business/corporation performance will have affect on its stock price. Or commodity prices fluctuate based on weather/in game events/etc. - Car GPS has real GPS sound with directions not just a line on a map. - There should be AI in the absence of players. If a players is not available to attend a business/job an AI should replace his role. You shouldn't go to an empty business/store/etc. Also some AI could be added to increase population density and have them do boring mundane work regular players wouldn't do. - Video games: There could be video games in the game, you could play on your phone, computer, or in an arcade/internet cafe. 7) Flying: I know this is probably not going to be in the game initially but I think this is too important a field to be completely left out. Perhaps after the initial release when you work on adding even more size to the map you could introduce flying. This game just won't be complete without the ability to fly and it would add an extremely fun career of being a pilot. I've heard there's a plan to double the map's size by adding another island in future DLCs, you could then introduce airports and give the player the ability to travel to the other island by air. Please don't rule out this feature.

To be honest, i like this, it means no player will just kill a cop for his gear or car, so has no reason to needlessly kill cops.

The devs had said in an interview that they did not want to add aviation of any kind, but i do think it would be super cool if you could say, take a helicopter tour, and that could be someones job, to give the tour. They defiantly will not be adding personal planes of any kind though.

Another thing id love to see incorporated in the game is the use of garages, mechanics and dealerships. This idea came up to me when I thought of Test Drive Unlimited 2 and the way they used dealerships and used car lots to buy and sell customer cars. Images are for reference from TDU2 The first image is a high end dealership which sells super and hyper cars. I think a layout like this looks clean and shows the cars designs very well rather that a drop down list, also giving you freedom to view, testdrive and inspect the car before purchase. The second image is a reference to dealer modifications and optional extras. I'd incorporate this to keep cars unique to the user. The third image is a used car lot. Running low on cash? Sell your car and other users could have a chance to purchase and own it with the exception of dealership optional extras. Since its a used car dealership, cars could be modified to the previous owners taste. This could be changes from the rims, paintjob, engine mods, running gear, decals, exterior and interior. This would only be possible with a car tuning shop (chop shop) to improve and style vehicles which is another feature i would love to see. A motorbike and other vehicles dealerships could also be used in the game. Thanks
