My observation of this is that a lot of people happen to have eerily similar ideas about what Identity is, despite our initially vague explanation of the game. In many of these cases where we appear to agree with people and accept their suggestions, it's because their ideas are things we've already thought of and in many cases, have already implemented or written into Identity's game design document. We want our community to feel that Identity is their game too. We all funded this, together. It's yours as much as it is ours, and if that means eating our own pride to give you credit for an idea that is very similar to our own, it's important to us that you to feel that you've contributed to the project! There have been several ideas from the community that we have been very open minded towards, and want to make sure we include them as long as they compliment existing features and fit neatly into place. But please don't dismiss us as 'yes-men' trying to appeal to everyone at once! We've rejected more than we've accepted! Some ideas sound awesome in theory, but don't work out in practice. Probably the best example of this is the idea of working as an employee of a store owned by other players. That really does sound immersive, but the reality is, there isn't enough work we can give a player to do to keep them entertained in that position. You can only stand around waiting for customers for so long before you want to do something else! Most importantly, knowing that so many people seem to have the same ideas about what they expect to see in Identity, only strengthens our belief that we're on the right track! Now is the right time for a game like Identity!

The trains cannot be controlled only because a lot of player may rely on their schedule and giving control of that to players would cause all kinds of problems if a griefer got behind the... stick? The trains are not instant travel, but they're fast. They are actual trains driving through the land on a set schedule.

I don't think a governor should be able to go from raising taxes on healthcare to making it free, i think the devs will implement one or the other, and if there were taxes, the governor should just be able to edit how much.

I'll stick to the official servers because it will be more fair, and more regulated for rule breaking. Private servers might have people who are friends of the owners getting free money and houses and stuff.

It will be approx 250x250 km squared. About as big as altis life, or arma 3 life. VERY BIG. Also, hitmen will exist, it will be highly illegal to hire one, but you will be able to do it, just make sure it's not an undercover cop

The modules will be the first look into the game, allowing you to make your character, and walk around town square, and do many things, and this will be relatively soon, and there are currently 3 modules set to be released. Can't Wait!

It's nice to be here on this beautiful website. The people are great, and the forums are blooming. I'm Kevin Langston, the don of the Langston Family, or Dark Ace Mafia. I plan to run the crime in identity, make friends, allies, and enemies, just like everyone else. Can't wait to meet you all there.

Langston Family / Dark Ace Mafia vvvvvvvvvv CHECK OUT MAIN PAGE THREAD! vvvvvvvvvv Welcome to the Langston Family, or the Dark Ace Mafia. we have already recruited many men, and have made many connections. We are looking for more loyal men that enjoy the Mafia style role playing. This crime family will control everything from the production of drugs, the dealers on the streets, the weapons trade, smuggling, hijacking, robbery, and whatever else we need to do to get that money. Everything illegal happening on the streets will belong to "us". This means if their is a petty dealer dealing on our streets, well, lets just say he won't be there for very long without paying some fees. On top of all the crime, and money, we are a family, we support each other in times of need, and stand on the building blocks of loyalty that this family operates on. We will be a Suit Mafia, wear tailored suits, drive nice cars, and we treat everyone with respect, unless we are shown disrespect. Join this family, and have a lot of fun in identity, and make lots of money while doing it. Now a little about me not as a Don, but as a person. I am not the Don that sits in my office all day. I am not the Don that steals from the poor. I am the Man, that spends time helping the community. I give money to the poor, and just am a very public kind of guy. Am i scared of being public, sure, you never know who wants to hurt you, but living in a room, is not living. I hope to see many of you in the game. Who can join? Anyone, if you like crime style playing, and mafia type scenarios, this is perfect for you. What will we do? We will do all the things a Mafia does. We will control the drug dealing in the towns, with dealers operating under us, giving us a cut of what they make, and we give them more product. We will control illegal gun trading in the world, doing big role play like deals, with other Family's. We will break the legs of anyone trying to take our turf, and if it becomes necessary, use our assets to have them taken care of. This is just a glimpse at what we will do when the full game is out. Climb the ranks of the Mafia family and become high up and powerful, and make a name for you, and your family, on identity. RANKS: First I have to say, ranking up is not about the money you bring in. You will not be ranked up before spending a considerable amount of time in the family, and proving that you deserve to move up the chain through nothing but pure dedication and success. 1st, Associate: You will role with us and see how things are done. Bring in $500 into the family, and prove yourself to the family to rank up. 2nd, Soldier or Street man: You will scout the streets, bringing information of people selling anything from guns or drugs to the attention of the family, you will be able to also show other Associates how we work. Bring in $2000 into the family, and prove your loyalty to the Langston name to rank up. 3rd, Enforcer: You will be tasked with doing some... shall i say, dirty work. Now don't get ahead of yourself, your not a hitman. You will be an enforcer on the streets, intimidating, and maybe even kidnapping people who disagree with our rules on the streets. You will also be able to take soldiers and associates with you on jobs such as robberies and other various tasks. Bring in $10,000, 1 new recruit, prove that you deserve this promotion, and complete one mission for the boss to rank up. 4th, Capo: You will be in charge of territories and men. You will have your soldiers and associates, although this does not make it a competition between you and other capos, it is just that you are at the stage of control. You will have more leeway to do jobs and activities of higher caliber. Remember, we are a family, so no matter where we are, we always help each other. The capo can also give his own jobs and assign his own tasks to enforcers or soldiers, if he/she is confident they can get it done. Bring in $15,000 to the family, and 3 new recruits, show you are ready, and complete various tasks for the boss to rank up. 5th, Underboss: This rank will have limited slots. Whether i want 2, 3, or 4 is undecided yet. The Underboss(s) will act as the commanding voice of the family when the Don is away. They can assign major tasks to the capo's to then assign on their men. The Underbosses will be entrusted in handling many meetings with other family's, supervising major deals and shipments, to ensure everything runs smoothly. You are the ones with the most experience meaning you make the calls above everyone under you. Special Division 1. Hitman: What i meant to say was, special tool. To get to this rank, you must make it to the enforcer rank, and than come to the Don about this... Special job. You will be tasked with many, special assignments to say, clean up messes, or take care of things. You get the idea. RULES 1. Respect, 2. RESPECT 3. Loyalty 4. Obey higher ranks 5. Got a problem, don't freak out, come to the Don personally. 6. No Snitching, no talking to cops, civilians, or even your own sweet mother about things we do. 7. All rats will be caught, you wont last long as a rat, we'll have people watching over everyone, and you will meet our special tool. 8. All money collected on family related jobs, will be split to 70% for those who "collected" the money, and 30% for the family. 9. Family money is not one mans money, it is the money we use to further our organization, whether that be buying a poor soldier a suit, buying more cars for the family, getting "merchandise and tools" for the family, it all goes to the family, not just one mans personal pleasure. 10. Steeling from the family is not smart, as this makes you a thief to the family, and that breaks this rule, and rule #3. Not only does the Don himself despise people who steal from the family, but everyone does as your are stealing from everyone, as that money could be spent towards the family and gaining even more money. If your short on cash, don's hold back your % on jobs, simply ask someone for a loan, or even the Don himself doesn't mind loaning money to his family members, because that's what we do. 11. Don't do ambitious jobs or activities that could jeopardize the family organization without consulting the Don. 12. Along with the rolaplay fun of the family, take some time off once in a while and just have fun, try other jobs, it is a new game and if you want to try new things, just take a break, ask the Don. 13. Always have your family's back. 14. As an associate or soldier, before committing any crime at all, ask a superior if it is ok. 15. Last but not least, if your caught, it was your individual choice to do what you did and you had no influence from anyone else. Sometimes you just got to eat some dirt to keep your family safe. This will not go unnoticed as sacrifice, is a quality of a very loyal man. 16. Close members of the Family's wont be selling drugs, personally delivering illegal shipments, etc. This will be for outsiders that are under our control. This is to keep the crime semi disconnected from the family and helps insure the integrity of our operations. 17. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, are you to discuss plans, activities, operations, etc, with anyone outside of the family. Doing this will make you a RAT, and you know what happens to rats. Please message me if you are interested. Best regards, Kevin Langston

Hi folks. For both new and old users alike, the Identity Shop may be a confusing thing. Thus, I have devised this elegant FAQ article, with the aim that I should be able to solve any problem you may have, without you needing to post a help request. Info for Kickstarter and Old Site backers. If you purchased your pass on either Kickstarter or the Old Site, then you will need to claim your purchase on this page. In order to do so, you will need to create an Identity Shop account, which logs your backer details, rewards, amount pledged etc. Q: I'm being asked to create an account when I try to claim my pledge, yet I've already created an account for the forum? What gives? A: Though it may sound counter-intuitive, your forum account and your Identity Shop account are two wholly different beasts. You will need to create separate accounts for both - however, you can still use the same username/email address. Q: I have created my Shop account and have inputted my email address into the "Claim" box but no claims have been found? Why? A: As the little error box already says, this might be because the system auto-claimed your pledge for you when you created your Shop account. This only occurs when your Shop account email address is the same as your Kickstarter/Old Site email address. If you are still receiving this message, yet no claims have been registered on your account, then you may be using the wrong email address. Ensure that your Kickstarter/Old Site email address is the same one you want to use. If problems still, persist, be sure to contact a Moderator who'll be able to help you track down your lost goodies. Q: What about my exclusive Kickstarter backer's hat? A: Fear not. Any rewards - including the backer's hat, beta access, free motorbike/apartment etc are all tied to your claim and email address. You will receive them when you get your access key. Q: I originally pledged $25 in the Kickstarter campaign, yet this price has risen to $30 on the new site. Do I need to contribute a further $5 to receive my rewards A: Nope, the $5 price bump is simply a short rise in price (caused by inflation and the conversion from Kickstarter's US Dollars to Identity's Canadian Dollars) for new players. You do not need to give any more money to receive your rewards. Info for Potential/Existing Backers Thanks for backing the game! Depending on the extent of your pledge, you will receive your rewards upon the launch of the game. Q: Is there any benefit to backing the game now, rather than buying it at release? As an exclusive backer, you not only receive nice rewards (depending on your pledge) but also a hefty price reduction, compared to the retail price of Identity upon launch. You also get to support Identity's dev team. Q: I claimed my pledge - what now? A: Wait patiently. You will now receive email newsletters from the Identity team informing you of game progress until eventually, you will be sent your access code. Depending on the level of your pledge, this may either be for the beta, or the game's full release. Q: I donated money for one reward but have decided I now want the tier above it. Can I upgrade? A: Yes! If you log into your Shop account, you will see that all prices have now been discounted to different degrees, depending on your original pledge. If you want to upgrade, merely pay the difference between the price of your original purchase and the next tier up. E.g. You originally paid $15 but want the $30 pledge. This pledge has now been reduced by $15. Be sure to log in first though! Q: Where can I track my backer info? A: On this handy page here: https://www.identityrpg.com/account/view/profile. There, you can access the details of your pledge (including rewards), as well as change important account info, like your password, date of birth or name. Importantly, you can also link your Store account to your Steam account, which will enable you to claim your key upon launch. You will also be able to opt out of exclusive backer email updates too, if you feel the need. Your shop account can also be linked to your forum account. Q: I signed in with Facebook but have lost all my items? Where have they gone? Accounts created via Facebook are different to those created without Facebook. To find your items, be sure to sign in with the correct account. That's it, folks. If you have any other questions, feel free to post them in the comments - I'll be sure to answer them as soon as I can! Thanks! Felix

So as there are these perspectives and desires, to make money, to protect money, to find money- as is- is there a way, or going to be a way for way a criminal to hide, after just robbing a convenience store, or a way for police to remain undetected until they know the criminals are coming down so-so alley way, and are practically right next to them? As a opportunistic person, I feel being able to hide or be hidden and learn how the world is, where to hide at, will make for a rather unique twist to the mmorpg. And the ability to use stealth in other games, dishonored for example, made it that much more suspensful and creative (is the enemy going to come around this corner and see me, at all? Or notice me just enough? Or can I make a quick escape from this patrol group?) Just something I'd love to see in a game like this, especially where the criminal branch is actually kind of desired.

I imagine that idea might not work, simply because of how much of a ballache interviews would be to conduct. I suppose if the Chief wanted, he could do them if he wanted but I don't think it should be a requirement.

@DrFelixPhD Okay, so the processor and GPU you have is fine for modest settings on all games, just don't expect fireworks, especially on the likes of triple A titles or poorly optimised titles. If you have any money spare though I recommend you switch to Intel, you won't regret it. AMD have been known to release tech which is cheaper than Intel, but at the same time run hotter and draw more power. For your RAM use 2x4gb not 1x8, as the modules will run in tandem then which is faster to load random memory than a single module. Everything else is fine, power supply should be enough and yes use the provided CPU cooler, just be careful if you overclock though. Good reviews on the mobo, which comes with the bigger price i suppose, has three PCI slots which is enough for all three of your GPU, sound card and wireless card. HOWEVER I found with my motherboard that my 970 covered up one of the slots meaning I essentially had 2 slots, not three. Your card will be smaller than mine though, so not to worry. Oh yes, is this a build to be sent off and assembled btw?

As I recall, the Skylake CPUs are quite badly designed - there were loads of reports from people saying that they were sort of bending/melting under the weight of some CPU coolers. Really aren't worth it considering how little difference there is between it and the last generation of processors.

Do a comic about the opportunity in this game, Like you and your friends decide to go out camping for the first time but don't know about bears. Not gorey tho. Or perhaps the rich yacht guy that all the low wealthed players are attracted to, and he pulls up the yacht ladder and a shark gets everyone. And he has no clue, this dropping the ladder when it's all good. Or draw a comic about some dude making meth in the boonies and then blowing himself up cause he's a tweaker. Or what Will a small robbery involving cops be like? Police"hands up!" Theif"what? Who me?" Police"yeah, get on the ground!" Theif"uhm? No?" Police"maybe it's not him...." Get jiggy wit it

Hello there, Well, this issue can be explained into two parts: 1. Official Servers As far as my knowledge goes, and mind you I may still be wrong as this is old information from our old forums, the official servers will be moderated by a dedicated team of in-game Identity Staff. This is akin to most MMO's where you have "GM's" keep the peace by making sure everything falls within rules. 2. Private Servers All moderation that happens falls under the responsibility of said server's owner and the people they appoint in the position as 'administrator', 'moderator' or whatever they would like to call their peacekeepers. The quality and bias-level of this is not necessarily better or worse but keep in mind that these people usually are volunteers who also have a Real-Life to attend to and perhaps don't have much of their day to spent on doing this (I am in this position myself as one of the volunteer administrators from Asylum Entertainment's "Altis Life" community). I think it suffices to say that you should not worry too much about the Official Servers, I'm sure they'll be watched well. I however cannot say anything about how a Private Server will do as that will be all up to the their owners and their teams of course. Best thing to do is wait and see, of course. But nevertheless, you've raised a very good question! Kind regards, DJScias

We have discovered that some email services (ex: AOL, Yahoo) automatically blacklist mass email servers that they believe to be distribution large amounts of spam. We believe that this is the root of the problem for those who have not yet received an account verification email. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience! Edit: Verification emails should begin to be sent out to those who have not received them. If you still haven't received your email, please try to request a new verification email.

How about this- we act all friendly to earn his trust and think we're his friends (he definitely doesn't have any so he'll be gullible), then we invite him to DST server and play together. When he goes afk we build grass walls around him and once he's back we SET EVERYTHING ON FIRE AND WATCH HIM BURRRRN, LOOK AT HIS FLESH TURN RED AND SLOWLY DARKEN, HIS EYEBALLS MELTING OUT OF SCHOOL, HIS AGONIZING SCREAMS FILLING THE AIR! And then we steal all the stuff he had on him that didn't turn to ashes, ban him out of the server and continue playing like nothing ever happened.

I doubt that. They wouldn't get payed while they are off duty. I am a police officer in Texas in real life and I always carry a weapon when im off duty. I am also authorized, and expected, to make an arrest if I witness a crime even when im not in uniform. Like they say - a police officer is NEVER fully off duty.
