  1. Account Support FAQs

Hi folks. For both new and old users alike, the Identity Shop may be a confusing thing. Thus, I have devised this elegant FAQ article, with the aim that I should be able to solve any problem you may have, without you needing to post a help request. Info for Kickstarter and Old Site backers. If you purchased your pass on either Kickstarter or the Old Site, then you will need to claim your purchase on this page. In order to do so, you will need to create an Identity Shop account, which logs your backer details, rewards, amount pledged etc. Q: I'm being asked to create an account when I try to claim my pledge, yet I've already created an account for the forum? What gives? A: Though it may sound counter-intuitive, your forum account and your Identity Shop account are two wholly different beasts. You will need to create separate accounts for both - however, you can still use the same username/email address. Q: I have created my Shop account and have inputted my email address into the "Claim" box but no claims have been found? Why? A: As the little error box already says, this might be because the system auto-claimed your pledge for you when you created your Shop account. This only occurs when your Shop account email address is the same as your Kickstarter/Old Site email address. If you are still receiving this message, yet no claims have been registered on your account, then you may be using the wrong email address. Ensure that your Kickstarter/Old Site email address is the same one you want to use. If problems still, persist, be sure to contact a Moderator who'll be able to help you track down your lost goodies. Q: What about my exclusive Kickstarter backer's hat? A: Fear not. Any rewards - including the backer's hat, beta access, free motorbike/apartment etc are all tied to your claim and email address. You will receive them when you get your access key. Q: I originally pledged $25 in the Kickstarter campaign, yet this price has risen to $30 on the new site. Do I need to contribute a further $5 to receive my rewards A: Nope, the $5 price bump is simply a short rise in price (caused by inflation and the conversion from Kickstarter's US Dollars to Identity's Canadian Dollars) for new players. You do not need to give any more money to receive your rewards. Info for Potential/Existing Backers Thanks for backing the game! Depending on the extent of your pledge, you will receive your rewards upon the launch of the game. Q: Is there any benefit to backing the game now, rather than buying it at release? As an exclusive backer, you not only receive nice rewards (depending on your pledge) but also a hefty price reduction, compared to the retail price of Identity upon launch. You also get to support Identity's dev team. Q: I claimed my pledge - what now? A: Wait patiently. You will now receive email newsletters from the Identity team informing you of game progress until eventually, you will be sent your access code. Depending on the level of your pledge, this may either be for the beta, or the game's full release. Q: I donated money for one reward but have decided I now want the tier above it. Can I upgrade? A: Yes! If you log into your Shop account, you will see that all prices have now been discounted to different degrees, depending on your original pledge. If you want to upgrade, merely pay the difference between the price of your original purchase and the next tier up. E.g. You originally paid $15 but want the $30 pledge. This pledge has now been reduced by $15. Be sure to log in first though! Q: Where can I track my backer info? A: On this handy page here: https://www.identityrpg.com/account/view/profile. There, you can access the details of your pledge (including rewards), as well as change important account info, like your password, date of birth or name. Importantly, you can also link your Store account to your Steam account, which will enable you to claim your key upon launch. You will also be able to opt out of exclusive backer email updates too, if you feel the need. Your shop account can also be linked to your forum account. Q: I signed in with Facebook but have lost all my items? Where have they gone? Accounts created via Facebook are different to those created without Facebook. To find your items, be sure to sign in with the correct account. That's it, folks. If you have any other questions, feel free to post them in the comments - I'll be sure to answer them as soon as I can! Thanks! Felix
  2. Possible Ways to Publicise the Game?

I agree but hype is pretty much all that is keeping this title afloat right now. If the game launches without an active playerbase, it begins its deathspiral before it has even left beta. If we stir up real support right now, we can guarantee a future for the game for years to come.
  3. Hi all. Christ, it's been a while. I apologise for being so inactive as of late. Work has taken its toll and after a year of uncertainty, I'm back and better than ever. In short, I hope that phrase can eventually be used to define Identity. Honestly, the game has gone through something of a slump in recent months, with many previously-active backers losing interest and moving on to other matters, while more and more delays are announced. Thus, I propose that a radical new strategy is needed to propel Identity's popularity once again - something akin to the endorsement of FrankieOnPC from years gone by? What can we do to stir up new support, generating new forum members and dedicated players? How can both we and Asylum prove that Identity is not yet dead in the water? We need ideas, people! Regards, Felix
  4. Possible Ways to Publicise the Game?

Glad to see you too mate. The prodigal son has indeed finally returned. I agree with you about the screenshots. They're the most concrete reminder we still have that this game exists. 3D models are fantastic but people don't care a jot unless they see real, well-imagined environments that look entertaining and engaging. The Facebook posts are nice enough too but I imagine the real draw for most gamers will be to see the game in action. It might help to instil some more backer confidence too, given that most people seem to have given up How goes the forum Discord actually?
  5. Hello from Germany!

Hi mate, and greetings from England! It's nice to see someone who isn't afraid to introduce themselves properly here! I hope that you remain an active member of the community
  6. Account Support FAQs

Hi crew. Felix here. I've been absent from the forums for some months, so after a lovely email from @LuckyDuck , I've given it a much-needed 2018 edit. Hopefully, you all still find it useful. Cheers.
  7. "Like Limit"?

Hey all, I find it slightly odd that the forums include a sort of "like limiter", that means that a profile can only like 10 posts per day. I understand that while it can induce spam, I reckon an increased limit of perhaps 15 or 20 would be more appropriate - 10 just simply isn't enough :L Any thoughts? Thanks
  8. Hey all, So while I know this was a thing on "Ye Olde Forumme", I thought it might be a good idea to provide quick way of accessing every screenshot and piece of concept art that the dev team releases on Facebook. Hopefully, I'll do my very best to keep it up-to-date, but don't hold your breath ;). If anyone finds any that aren't included here, feel free to put them in the comments. Thanks! Your chum, Felix.
  9. Identity Dev Blog Update

Hey all, The Asylum Team sent this email out to all of their newsletter subscribers, discussing progress with the game: I'm pretty gutted about the delay, obviously, but it sounds like the devs are once again making progess - can't wait to see the results. Felix
  10. Hey all! Firstly, I have to apologise for my recent absence. I'm aware that it's been well over a year since I last retained a consistent profile on these forums, so I need to keep up. Secondly, hello to all the new players that have joined since December 2015! It's fantastic to see the game undergoing something of a second coming, so I can rest safe in the knowledge that there'll always be a huge number of people to share some great times when Identity (finally) reaches its release! But on to my original question; I'm currently undergoing something of a PC upgrade and not having really delved into the world of PC construction in the past before, I could use some help. I have already ordered the parts online and with the help of my far more experienced SO, I'm planning on starting work in a couple of days time. What is worrying me, however, is the possibly of a hardware limitation when attempting to play Identity. For instance, I bought an i3-6300 (yes, I'm aware, not overly fantastic but it was all I could afford on my shitty income), a GTX 1050 and 8GB of RAM. With the fairly sub-standard quality of the dual-core i3, will it be possible to play Identity easily (even on a lower graphics setting) or not at all? I understand that we are still awaiting news of system requirements, however, given its similarity to other titles - Arma 2/3 etc - does anyone have any clue at all? Thanks in advance and once again, hello! DrFelixPhD
  11. Robbing a Bank

Hey all, So we already know that's it's possible to rob a bank (as teased in one of the very first pieces of concept art) but I was wondering quite how in depth the robbery system would be? Paratus mentioned that it could be compared to something along the lines of the Payday series, which obviously has quite a complex premise and might not be the type of thing that would be entirely possible on the game's initial release (no offence to the devs), especially combined with the rest of the product. I then suppose my question to both the community and the dev team is what exactly will a heist include - will they be particularly hard? Will they follow a similar idea to that of GTA Online's? Is there the option of stealth tactics or would it just be guns blazing? Thanks! Felix
  12. HOW PART OF THE TOWN SQUARE WILL LOOK LIKE (video)

Been years since I've seen any of this. A couple of months ago, I was trying to find them again to reupload them for anyone that hadn't seen them. It's odd that they weren't publicised more and couldn't be found on the Official Identity YT channel.
  13. First RP

Never once tried an RP within a video game, but I am member of the Star Wars cosplay community, The 501st Legion, in which we dress up as Stormtroopers, march around and wonder why women don't want to date us. Definitely a lot of fun and the people you meet are incredible - lovely to see fellow fans of such an awesome movie franchise. Here's me with a mate of mine at an event in London a couple of years ago - I'm the one on the left
  14. Old brands.

Perhaps an inclusion of GTA's Fruit phones, Facade or Lifeinvader?
  15. Good day all! I apologise for my inactivity in recent months - unfortunately, I've been weighed down with exams and college, though now, I am completely free! Thusly, I wanted to try and re-engage myself with the forums and catch up on the game once again. So, what's the general progress of Identity? Has anything catastrophic occurred since March? Is Motown still in to Motown music? I'm curious! Thanks! Your homie, Felix
  16. Should I pre order?

Unfortunately, making regular updates isn't exactly the Asylum's strong point. Like Crafty said, I'm sure we'll start seeing far more information the closer we get to release - just keep an eye out for dev blogs and the occasional video. If you want even more justification before you ever feel like preordering, just either send a forums message to @Motown or the CONTACT US button at the bottom of the page. Have a fantastic day and good luck with your purchase!
  17. The First Thing You'll Do?

Hey all, Just wondering, what's the first thing you're going to do when you boot up the game? I decided I was going to head to the pub, grab a pint and wait for all of this to blow over
  18. Illnesses and Hospitals

Hey all, I finally began paying attention to the Identity Twitter feed and, as it turns out, a lot of useful stuff is mentioned on there! One thing that seemed especially interesting to me was when they mentioned "illnesses" here: So I began wondering what type of sicknesses could exist in the game? Could you perhaps contract sepsis from drinking from a dirty bottle, or maybe if a wound gets infected? Perhaps you can gain diabetes from obesity and insulin becomes a factor in the game? Any other thoughts from you guys?
  19. Animations?

    Or krumping!
  20. Animations?

    Nah, mate - I'm still allowed 10 :L
  21. Animations?

I'll have a look It's like moderator, yet even more voluntary!
  22. Animations?

To be honest, the site just needs some kind of "dev Twitter feed" so we can keep up with everything Asylum posts. Kinda similar to the "dev tracker" thing.
  23. Post your favorite music!

    Yessss
  24. Post your favorite music!

Damn, I fucking love Eric Clapton - really nice, smooth relaxing music. And by the way mate, you can pour some sugar on me anytime
  25. Post your favorite music!

So Aerosmith, GnR, CCR and Led Zep then?
