I've been a VIP backer for a year and a half now. . . I know some others have been backing for longer than that. So far what I'm seeing is a major disconnect between the developers and the backers. We've been delayed far too long, and we don't even know what we're backing yet. There's been "small" "game-play" videos, but no actual "fruit." I am now getting to the point where I feel like I've been waiting too long for too little, and considering refunding. I don't necessarily want to go that route, because I am excited, and have been, to see what Asylum has to offer. But, Asylum was supposed to start "sharing" more with us, and I feel as they haven't met that expectation. Yes, there's been videos and streams of development, but I've gotta say it's far too little far too late. We haven't seen ANY of the content that we've been backing for, with the exception of the incredibly small video's which have been released relating to Town Square, and a horribly scripted RP meth lab shootout. Not to mention the TS module tracker that goes days without being updated. . . I don't mean to rant, but what's going on Asylum, what are we waiting for, and how much longer can we expect to be delayed? So far it's been pretty redundant, standby and wait to standby and wait longer, oh and by the way. . . Since we've delayed twice already, we're not gonna inform you (the players and backers) when to expect the NEXT delay. . . Asylum, the least you could do, is show us what our pledge's contain and give us a timeline of when we can expect to see the TS module. And to be clear, I'm not counting "place-holder" assets. Please Asylum, give us something to feed us, I know I'm not the only person who feels this way.

As a real life EMT, I would definitely be interested in seeing a medical system that is simple yet revolves around role play. Things like blood pressure, heart rate, bleeding control, saleen, etc. Here's how I would imagine the medical system to be programmed: Each civilian normally has 5 liters, or 5000mL of blood volume. A single gun shot would cause blood loss ( 2mL per second on the limb, and 4mL per second on the chest or abdomen) Stab wounds are also a possibility. Multiple gun shot wounds or stab wounds would multiply the bleeding affect. Normal blood pressure = 120/80, normal heart rate = 75. Each 1/2 liter (500mL) of blood loss causes a 10 point loss in blood pressure. Each time the blood pressure drops 10 points, the heart rate increases 10 points. (I can explain why if you want). ***Any blood pressure under 80/40 will cause the patient to pass out, any blood pressure under 50/10 will cause the patient to "die", but can still be resuscitated with CPR. A player will be able to function normally with wounds for an amount of time until his low blood pressure causes the player to pass out. This will allow the player to continue the gun fight with wounds, or give the player enough time to apply first aid to himself or a teammate. However, if a player passes out, he will need a medic to administer fluids for him to wake back up. At that point the player can either refuse further treatment, or elect to go to the hospital/be treated in the ambulance until the blood pressure is stabilized. The incentive for transport to the hospital being that a medic can give fluids to a patient up to 140/ 100 for an extra buffer of health!!! This will encourage role play. Okay so here's an example: one gun shot wound to the chest = 4mL of blood loss per second. 1 minute = 240mL of blood loss, therefore a person loses 1000mL or 1 liter of blood in approx. 4 mins per gunshot wound to the chest or abd. That means it would take 16 mins to die from one gunshot wound, and 10 mins for a player to pass out from a gun shot wound to the chest or abdomen. Double that time for gun shots to a limb. Now, of course more gun shot wounds would cause a multiplication of blood loss, so be careful out there! Maybe armor would deflect 5 bullets before losing its effectiveness??? There are 7 "compartments" on the human body. 1) The chest 2) The head 3) The abdomen 4) the Right arm 5) the left arm 6) the R leg 7) and the L leg. Head injuries: Laceration, fracture, gun shot wound...maybe a helmet deflects one or two bullets before losing its effectiveness??? Chest injuries: Laceration, broken rib, gun shot wound...maybe a Kevlar vest deflects one or two bullets before losing its effectiveness??? Abdomen injuries: Gun shot wound, laceration. Limb injuries: Gun shot wound, laceration, open fracture (bleeding), closed fracture (non-bleeding) Blood volume, blood pressure, and heart rate chart: Volume: 6000mL, BP: 140/100, HR: 55------- Volume: 5500mL, BP: 130/90, HR: 65------ Volume: 5000mL, BP: 120/80, HR: 75----- Volume: 4500mL, BP: 110/70, HR: 85----- Volume: 3500mL, BP: 100/60, HR: 95----- Volume: 3000mL, BP: 90/50, HR: 105------ Volume: 2500mL, BP: 80/40, HR: 115 (Pass out)----- Volume: 2000mL, BP: 70/30, HR: 125----- Volume: 1500mL, BP: 60/20, HR: 135----- Volume: 1000mL, BP: 50/10, HR 145 (DEATH)----- Volume: 500mL, BP: 40/10, HR: 0 (Can still be saved with CPR)----- Volume: 0mL, BP: 30/0, HR: 0 (NOT able to resuscitate and must respawn) CPR and Resuscitation: CPR can be administered by anyone, and will prevent the pressure from dropping if all wounds are bandaged successfully. However, it can only be administered if the player "dies", i.e. blood pressure at 50/10 or less. If the patient "dies", they can still receive defibrillation by a medic. However, defibrillation will only work if the blood pressure is 90/40. So...the medic will need to give saleen up to 90/60 in order for the defibrillation to work. This will also encourage teamwork between the two medic partners. A patient who has been successfully resuscitated via defibrillation MUST be transported to the hospital by the medics and MUST receive the health buffer of 140/100. Now let's apply this type of scenario to a whitelisted server... "New life rule" does not apply unless you actually re-spawn. The time it takes to transport a patient who has received defibrillation is enough time to make his return to the fight reasonable. Since the medics are a neutral entity, they cannot be within a certain distance to an active gunfight, therefore the victim's teammate will have to be able to carry the victim away from the gunfight and toward the medics. A feature to load an unconscious player into a vehicle would significantly aid this process. Example: Officer down, teammate stops the bleeding, carries him to the patrol car, loads him into the patrol car, drives him 200m (or whatever) to the medics on stand-by, medics commence patient care. The officer can either wait for his comrade to be healed, or drive back to the gunfight. OR...depending on EMS AND POLICE policies, there might be tactical medics equipped with vests and helmets that are permitted to go into an active firefight and operate ONLY TO STABILIZE AND TRANSPORT THE VICTIM BACK TO THE NEARBY AMBULANCE VIA CARRY ANIMATION. After reviewing this system and looking at practical application, most of the time the bleeding can be stopped by applying bandages to yourself, therefore medics will rarely be needed unless a person suffers multiple gun shot wounds over time. With that said, personnel who are not trained in first aid, i.e. civilians....would have a lower probability of successfully applying a bandage compared to a police officer who would have a higher probability due to police training. (Medics having 100% success rate). These probabilities/percentages can be programmed into each type of player character. Bleeding control is very important, since bleeding is what drops your blood pressure. Trauma and Medical conditions: -Gun shot wound to the chest: 4mL of blood loss per second (requires "Occlusive dressing" or blood pressure will continue to drop) -Gun shot wound to the abdomen: 4mL of blood loss per second (requires "Trauma dressing") -Gun shot wound to the head: 8mL of blood loss per second (requires "Trauma dressing") -Laceration: 4mL of blood loss per second for lacerations to the head, chest or abdomen, and 2mL of blood loss for lacerations to any limb (from stabbing or blunt force trauma, i.e. non-bladed weapons or fists)...(blunt force trauma with probability of 1:10 to cause a laceration), stabbing = 100% probability of laceration. Requires "Medium gauze" -Fractured limb (from MVA a.k.a. motor vehicle accident higher than 35mph) OR (fall from higher than 20 feet)...could be an open fracture or closed fracture, open causes bleeding. Requires "Cardboard Splint" -Fractured spine (from MVA a.k.a. motor vehicle accident higher than 50mph) OR (fall from higher than 35 feet)....causes neurogenic shock, which instantly drops the blood pressure to 80/40 (passes out). Requires "C-collar and Spine Board" -Dehydration: Not drinking enough water will cause the blood pressure to slowly drop. Maybe 1mL per minute? Player will eventually pass out and need medical treatment. Requires "Saleen Bag" -Low blood sugar: Not eating will cause your blood sugar level to slowly drop, causing you to pass out. Maybe 0.5 points per minute? Normal blood sugar: 70-140mg% (pass out at <40mg%). Requires "Oral Glucose" (can be store bought) if they are conscious...or "Saleen Bag" followed by "Dextrose 50%" if they are unconscious. via medic only -Smoke inhalation: A result of not cooking meth properly, causes the player to have decreased run speed and inability to eat or drink. Also causes decrease in shooting accuracy. Requires "Oxygen Mask" by a medic. Resolved after 5 mins of O2 therapy. -Drug overdose: Causes the player to pass out, slowly lowering the heart rate. A heart rate less than 40 causes death. Requires "Mucosal Atomization Device" by medic. -Emphysema: A result of chronic smoking. A condition that causes decreased stamina or slower run speed. Requires "Oxygen Mask" by medic. Resolved after 2.5 mins of O2 therapy EMS equipment: -An ambulance and gurney where you can take the gurney out of the ambulance first(animated), roll the gurney to the patient with the crew member holding it (animation), then load the patient on the gurney, then roll the gurney back to the ambulance with the patient on the gurney, and finally load the patient into the ambulance (animation). Both crew members should be able to sit in the back of the ambulance with the patient in order to treat them further. -Blood pressure cuff (to take blood pressures) https://www.google.com/search?q=blood+pressure+cuff&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj55afs-qrhAhUKsZ4KHRv6CAUQ_AUIDygC&biw=1920&bih=937 -Small gauze (band aid): -Medium gauze (4x4): https://www.google.com/search?biw=1920&bih=937&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=yfOfXL7ALsfj0gKa_JmwCw&q=4x4+gauze&oq=4x4+gauze&gs_l=img.3..0l7j0i8i30l3.35879.38439..38548...0.0..0.161.1040.0j8......1....1..gws-wiz-img.......0i67.XilFtcmrn6A Large gauze (trauma dressing) for bleeding control: https://www.google.com/search?biw=1920&bih=937&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=MvufXJXAFOaM0gL_1I3gDQ&q=large+trauma+dressing&oq=large+trauma+dressing&gs_l=img.3..0.8702.9827..10055...0.0..0.125.726.0j6......1....1..gws-wiz-img.......0i7i30.LPNNAsFsE9Y#imgrc=m2umye0WXEeN8M: -Occlusive dressing for gun shot wounds to the chest. https://www.google.com/search?biw=1920&bih=937&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=8POfXO6SOqqu0gLOspHoCA&q=occlusive+dressing&oq=occlu&gs_l=img.1.0.0i67j0l4j0i67j0l4.68636.70332..71616...0.0..0.234.851.0j5j1......1....1..gws-wiz-img.....0..35i39.fEq8cUpVREE -0.9% sodium chloride intravenous access (saleen bag) with 500mL, and 1000mL sized bags. Asylum Entertainment would like to present to you, the first look at Identity's gameplay trailer, giving you a vertical slice of what you can expect from the upcoming MMORPG

I was just pointing out that not all developers use SpeedTree, there are also some very impressive custom vegetation systems for Unreal created by individuals and/or small teams. I've seen several with support for fire propagation, procedural trees, shrubbery, and vines, etc. Some of them are actually more impressive than SpeedTree is.

I agree to the Networking problem. UE4 is know for that and they would have to write their own server or use something like Photon. Maybe Photon with GamesParks and those are not free of course.

Actually Bethesda doesn't use SpeedTree any longer. They created their own custom vegetation system for Skyrim.

Hello all, Thank you for reading my introduction. I'm looking forward to the release of Identity. There have been a lot of other games with a similar theme, whether it be a modded version of a shooter franchise or a standalone MMORPG, but none of which have honed in on the niche that is described by the developers of Identity. I've been a gamer for many many moons. In 1994 my friends and I started a gaming community where we got together in our basements and hooked our PC's together to game. As time went on we invested into implementing our own dedicated gaming servers online, leasing servers and hosting several different genres of game-play. By 2003 we we're running a PC storefront, where we built new PC's, modded existing ones and even performed Xbox modifications. We leased the old grocery store next to us and hosted 150 to 300 person LAN parties. We had competitions, prizes, giveaways and even big name sponsors. It was a different experience back then. Internet was dial up at the start, connections were miserably slow and LAN's were the only way to have a fully immersed experience. There were games we hosted that had more than one server and we imposed a strict RP policy on some of them. We had a lot of fun with this aspect of the game and have been waiting for something a little more refined to come along. Could this be it? Could it be... Identity?

There are 3 Modules and then the Beta before the full game. Module 1 will be the longest module to be developed, Module 2 (S.W.A.T. Module) will release the quickest but Module 3 (The Racing Module), there will be a lot of hurdles to clear, with some brick walls the devs will hit and will take more time than Module 2 but will be shorter than Module 1 in development. Then we will need all 3 modules to be joined as 1 before getting the Beta while also adding in the rest of the features which are planned for Full Game Release including the full map. The Beta is for general testing, stress testing and bug fixing. Your opinion is optimistic about the full game coming 2019 and I totally hope so but my opinion it will be at least 2020 and I think that is optimistic for me to say. I have faith in the developers but I want to not get my hopes up. I am 100% with them, but we need to wait longer if we want the game we want.

You are assuming you know the guy and stating he don't have knowledge about something when you don't actually know him in person. You clearly have not been here too long because you are "practically" saying that the developers have never stated they have made mistakes. Well I can say they have stated they have made mistakes, but I don't see any other company doing so. They are still new as a game company and so things are to be expected to be out of place. Everyone knows that amount of money is not enough to develop a game. There were only 3 developers for an entire year. They are now a 25 man team roughly. This has not been in development for 4 years yet. Good games take a couple years, Great games take several years. The team is smaller than a Triple A company but it still has hope to deliver a game of such high standard. The new and small team needs 1. Time 2. Support 3. Trust. Trust is always last to have with someone. Oh and the information which DagTag gave you came not only from the Moderators, it came from the Community Manager. The Moderators get their information from the CM. Don't assume you know somebody unless you actually know them.

There is still a difference between total arrogance and trust... you say you backed a lot of games before, thats possible, but remember that not every development team/company is the same. There is a very good chance this game will release and i am not saying that because i am arrogant but because i have experience with development, they are two complete different things. And "crap module"? I know its just a social module with the basic things but that doesnt mean its going to be crap, they have been holding the release back for a reason and thats not to "stall" but do they can perfect their game.
  12. 1 point
I would like to read that from you, but i dont think you have the answer. As @Oroboroussaid, you are an example of arrogance. Blind folded by an idea. Its clearly that your experience in such things is little to non and do not want to accept the reality. I backed many projects in my gaming life and only two of them got released; The Long Dark and KONA. When I tell you that this gaming company does not look promising AT ALL, then i speak from experience. At the end of the day, you ll get a crap "module", which you ll hate, but at least you ll learn from your mistake.

Ignore my other post I put up, its in the wrong section. Hi, just signed up, my name is Nami May, but in the gaming world I go by several names, one being Faith Mable. I've been looking for a good roleplay game or server on a game but I've always been disappointing. From games like Gmod to conan exiles to second life. I've been sifting through and looking for a proper and good RP experience and this game looks like it would really fill the void for me. So just some questions: 1: Do you have a discord? Discord servers I've found to always be helpful, good for chatting and I do prefer voice chat. 2: What is the status of the game? I just got here and oblivious to where things are sorry. 3: Can I preorder the game, back it or whatever? I'm interested I won't lie, kinda want to hop in asap. 4: What can I expect in the game, is it proper roleplay in the form of a city roleplay or something? Need some clarification I'm busy in real life doing housework so I posted this here to await replies, thank you in advance and have some virtual cookies from me.

Beta is after all 3 modules. The modules are 3 standalone small pieces of the Game.. We are expecting Module 1 not the Beta. 1. $15 for game access at the full release on steam. 2. $30 for game access at full release on steam, 3 Module and a Beta also. To question 4: The map of the Island will be 225km2 and the full game servers will have around 300 - 500 players per server. @FaithMable

I did question family building, Are there going to be KIds in the game? Babies? If so, How do they come about? I might have missed any explanation on if couples will be able to start families, Life simulator doesn't seem Life like without a certain amount of Family Growth. Just wondering.

@Bushido0, @Zomaka Let's not forget about GTA V either. With it's Strip Club, sex with prostitutes, and even fully nude colonists (Both male and female). Which also exists on consoles. In other terms... Where there is a will, there is a way. I highly doubt there's going to be any "sex" mechanics in the game. But really, you don't need that. You can always just roleplay it. I bet there's gonna be private servers just for that stuff.

Well don't you think a official statement would not fix up the insane confusion? Do you think anyone is going to believe what you may overheard on some chat on discord? Not trying to go hard on you at all, Just getting absolutely tired of how things are being handled by Asylum. You stated that you trust Asylum with your money, Haven't most of us did? But with constant changing of mind, no transparency and excuses it's very card to continue to trust.

"Oh he trusts in the company he puts his money in, he must be arrogant". Before I back a game like this I look at whether it can be done or not, and it can... For a small company game development isn't an easy thing, was I disappointed when the game got delayed, yeah sure but me keeping quiet about it and supporting the game nonetheless doesn't mean I "roll around" it means I trust this company with my money, that's why I gave it in the first place and that was my point of the previous post. A lot of people don't trust their money to this company, I am not telling anyone they should trust them, I am telling them to think about it before they decide to pledge.

You're an a very example of total arrogance and seriously, being an ostrich does not help here. If your head is in the sand than, sure keep on rolling over.. Major issue with gaming community today is simply just the fact that people "roll over" each time a developer screws up and this has been going on in the gaming industry for a long time. Truth of the matter is that this became a habit and allowed any gaming company to give the community ridiculous turn around and we have been doing nothing but buying into these silly games. Too long we have been patting these developers and simply accepting this ridiculous way of them doing whatever they want. Founded or not, there is money involved, and we should pay attention a lot more to this because it's our money involved..This demands some kind of answer, Not maybe, perhaps, No.. you have to give us an answer. If you mess up, admit it, when there is transparency there is trust. I don't have any trust in this guys because they are not being transparent. I love the idea of this title but there are way bigger values that matter than that and i am not going to break them for anybody, nor should anyone.

The finishing touches Greetings, and again thank you, to all of Identity's backers receiving this dev blog. Everyone's been hard at work putting together a game that can change the industry, and you're soon going to be getting your first taste. With the Town Square (Identity's first social gameplay module) nearing release, we're hard at work testing and putting the finishing touches on two of the major features. Everything's been progressing very well and I'm quite proud of the team. These last systems are the art/canvas mechanics and the player housing. Both of these have been functional for a long time, although a couple tweaks need made before we push Town Square out the door. A few minutes of decorating an Ash Hill penthouse We've added a new button in the elevators to allow you to visit a public version of any apartment. You can run around and see them in their default state before committing to buying them for yourself. This will be a very useful way to explore the available options, given that some of the floorplans will be very rare to come across with other players. Above is the penthouse after a few minutes of quick decoration. I'm not exactly a decorator, myself, but you can get a good idea of the way it looks now! It's a huge space with three large bedrooms (which means you and two friends can use it as your home) and tons of storage. We've had to refactor the backend of the housing system a good bit, but the end result you see is everything you saw in the prior Identity Insider apartment video. All features shown then will be ready for you soon in the Town Square! We have lots of other cool features coming for your house parties that you haven't seen yet, too. In case you hadn't seen that video, or you want to see it again, I've linked it below. Identity Insider: Housing - CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO Town Square gameplay live stream With my last developer blog post I included a link to gameplay video from our live stream showing character creation and the exterior environment in the Town Square module. Recently, I joined in on another development live stream to show about 20 minutes of more Town Square gameplay. This time I showed off interior environments as well as a few of the gameplay mechanics you're going to come across in the Town Square. YouTube Town Square preview live stream 2 - CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO The team and I are so very excited to show you guys what we've made in the Town Square and beyond. The Town Square isn't enormous on its own, but it's a very good way to give you an idea of how the world looks and feels. The task master The Task Tracker is a new tool on our website which displays up-to-date data pertaining to how much work is remaining for the Town Square release. If you've been following our progress through the tracker, you'll have seen that just a couple of days ago it progressed to its current point, with only two tasks remaining at the in-testing state (the ones I described above in this blog post). Keep your eye on the tracker to get the best idea of when we're ready to go. You will of course also get notified by email when the Town Square is published on Steam! The future of the Dev Blog This may be one of the last couple developer blogs being sent out in this format as we're planning on soon transitioning to more frequent developer video blogs! In the past, it's always been myself who wrote these blog posts. They've been a great way to reach out and letting everyone who doesn't follow us on social media know what we've been up to. That said, I think I speak for most people when I say video is more interesting and entertaining! Look forward to meeting the team face-to-face in short but frequent videos. Some will be general updates about our work on Identity and some will be focused on certain aspects within the game. Also, on that note, you're going to be getting a very interesting Identity Insider very shortly, covering criminal activity and gameplay. It's a major part of the game and we've surprisingly not been asked many questions about these systems in the past. You'll be getting all kinds of juicy new information and ideas of what you're going to encounter! The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday. We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet

Totally missed out adding "Republic of Ireland". Northern Ireland is included as it's the UK... I am from England.

I do not think this would happen, for phones would be given to the player at the start of the game, and wouldn't be optional to own one or not. I think phone cases, and other cosmetic features could be bought, though. I also think I read that new phone models could be purchased, also. I don't think this would happen, but it might. If it does, however, it would probably not be in the Town Square. Check the Twitch Clips Directory for more info on any other topic that has been answered, and feel free to ask more questions if your question has not already been answered!
