  1. npc around the world?

Devs have said that there will only be NPC's at cash registers etc with no 'walking' NPC's like GTA has.
  2. Hunt For The Worst Game Ever

I'm pretty sure IGN use space apes to do reviews lol, and while I didn't actually play Isolation my eldest son did, and he loved it. I was shocked when the class action lawsuit brought against Gearbox failed, the game was an utter rip off, classic case of a game gone wrong and the company putting it out to re-coup some of the development costs.
  3. Hunt For The Worst Game Ever

I have a hands down winner for my number one worst game.............Aliens: Colonial Marines by Gearbox Software.
  4. This game feels too ambitious ?

Yeah sorry about that, I'm not a huge fan of trolls, tell you what....how about you stop being lazy and find the answers yourself? They're ALL on page one of this section...like I said three posts back
  5. This game feels too ambitious ?

You already beat me to it m8 lol (and in case you missed it, that's irony )
  6. With this level of detail, I can only imagine the amount of bugs we're going to be working to find in the beta Keep up the good work
  7. This game feels too ambitious ?

Actually, a rant is exactly what it is because: A - You're not an executive of Asylum nor are you a Dev, ergo you're not in a position to do anything, at all, about any of the things you mentioned. B- All your questions have already been answered, and answered in this section of the forum, AND on page one, AND not just once.....so in fact you didn't even have to search for answers to your questions/concerns *rolls eyes* (oh and in case you might have missed it, yeah that's sarcasm )
  8. Hence the need to find a balance between role play & game play if (like us) you'll be running a RP server, and the suspension of belief I mentioned, not everyone who gets shot has to be dead & not everyone who shoots someone has to be a killer. For years Rockstar have used the excuse that on open servers you can't just ban people for 'playing the game' but the point is....there actually IS no game. When you do CEO missions or missions for the Biker DLC, and you're armed and ready for trouble nobody will attack you....but be stood outside somewhere just talking and some moron will drive past and throw a sticky bomb. I can't see how it'll be any different on Asylum's servers unless they specifically state that 'random' killing is not allowed. The obvious answer is the simplest of course, make it consensual.....i.e you cant be attacked unless you flag yourself for it.
  9. First of all, you need to forget about public servers, Asylum will run those and what will be, will be. Most of us have experience of public servers in GTA Online, the prime example of what Identity WILL turn into if players are let loose with no rules. It's a game, and either through hacks or over time, players will get access to all the weaponry & they will use those weapons.....fact. GTA Online is a pyramid game & the single worst example of one ever hoisted upon the gaming public. There IS no actual game, the only goal is to gather cash, which Rockstar then remove by 'giving' the players 'free' updates.. Players who inhabit public rooms exclusively do not 'work' to earn their in game cash, so they buy shark cards.....and on and on. If a game has a system where the player can buy game currency, then any attempt at an in game economy WILL fail. So lets cut to the chase here. In order to make your server work to any degree then MURDER (not death, murder) is going to have to carry some kind of heavy penalty.& not just to discourage grief play. Forget real life too, even on a full server (300 players) just fifty murders a week would be huge, with such a small amount of people then death, & lengthy prison sentences, are going to have a massive impact on your player base. But at the same time, if people are free to go around killing, with little or no consequence, then anarchy will ensue & you will end up with GTA Online. At the time of writing it's still something we (and by we I mean the server we'll be running) are still trying to find an answer for. The death penalty is an interesting possibility, but almost impossible to implement, huge fines for murder would impact the economy. One thing is for certain though, even on a rp server like ours some kind of suspension of belief is going to be needed or this won't work at all.
  10. Who will make the laws/rules?

For example, on the server we have planned: The owners will set the rules & the Admins will enforce those rules. The Government will set the laws & the Police will enforce the law, they are, or should be, two separate entities.
  11. Who will make the laws/rules?

Asylum have hinted that criminals will be 'flagged' for committing certain crimes IF said crimes are witnessed and/or reported. Beyond that I would imagine that what Kickapoo stated will be the most likely scenario with server owners/admins setting out the laws, and with governments/law enforcement there to see they are implemented.
  12. Evidence and clues

    L.A. Noir did it brilliantly
  13. Who here has law enforcement "experience?"

Thirteen years real life experience, plus one of our group is a serving officer (also in real life)
  14. Who is your favorite artist

    The Stone Roses
  15. [FR] Addict Life RôlePlay

Yeah you need to stop doing this, you're not an Admin and you don't speak for/represent this community.
  16. battlefield 1

What evidence do you need other than IT'S THE SAME GAME? The series does not use ballistics, so a gun is a gun is a gun, yes it has some variations like the tanks, but esentially it's still the same game, with the same game modes (with one exception). That's not to say it's a bad game, because it's the best shooter out there still, but they're getting lazy in the same way that CoD did & just releasing the same thing over and over just dressing it up differently...
  17. battlefield 1

I've seen them dominate a map yeah, but they're not indestructible. If they have a full crew then they're a real handful though, especially the German one, but aircraft or anti-tank grenades wreck them. Maybe with a full crew they do seem op, but that's really because of the players manning the tank as opposed to the vehicle itself being op.The only real problem I've seen so far is with the damage model on infantry, I've shot many an enemy in the face just to see him run off & that can get frustrating. One thing I did forget to mention, is that if you do get the game you should check out Operations mode when you go online, it's probably the games saving grace.
  18. battlefield 1

It's the exact same game as B4 or Star Wars Battlefront but in World War One uniforms. Clear enough for you Shimo????
  19. battlefield 1

It's actually not that great, the campaign is really more of a tutorial for the online mode (although it does have one stellar moment) & if you've played BF4 & Star Wars Battlefronts then you've basically played BF1. it also bears very little (almost none to be honest) relation to WW1 combat or battles & the large majority of weapons in it are experimental weapons that saw virtually no mass use during the war. It's two redeeming features are tank play & the utterly destructible terrain, which, it has to be said, are awesome.......a tank with a full crew is really deadly. Honest opinion, it's BF4/Battlefronts re-skinned, but with better battlefields.
  20. Is this even true...

*sings* 'The wheels on the truck go round and round'................and here we are again, back at square one. I have a question: How many times are you people going to get dragged into this same shit storm by forum trolls who are OBVIOUSLY disgruntled Altis Life players? Ring any bells? [–]ShlongSamuel1123 1 point 4 hours ago Me and my freind have been trying to expose asylum for a long time now. Our forum names are Luca Santarelli and Dj Bobby Vee ................seriously, wake the hell up and stop replying to this shit. Whoever the hell runs these forums needs to start I.P. banning these morons so everyone can get back to what's important, developing the dam game. Just let these posts die, for the love of god use your brains, because you keep giving these bottom feeders air time it's actually starting to damage Asylums reputation.....and on the subject of Asylums reputation.... Maybe it's time you gave serious consideration to shutting down Altis Life, because lets face it, that's where all your problems are coming from. That's a free mod, this is your business, pick what's important ffs. I know it's your baby, I know the sentiment that goes with that kind of thing, and I also know that there are players there who are actually worty of your time and effort, but Altis Life was yesterday, Identity is today. It's time to get serious.
  21. Silence is golden, and now we've finally put this bugbear to bed, maybe we can get on with things. Thanks for all the replies, especially Motown.
  22. Identity (or to be more exact the idea of Identity) wants to change what an mmo is, a grand gesture indeed. In reality however most of these changes are going to have to come from the players themselves, sure Asylum can present their 'vision', they can provide the tools, but it's how those tools are used that will, ultimately, make or break Identity. Crime & the criminal are going to play a large part in that. So what makes a successful criminal? Simple....not getting caught. Now most of us think that is a fairly obvious statement, but when you consider it in terms of online 'games', it really isn't. In fact, in most 'life' sims the average criminal, more often than not, will go out of his way to bring about some kind of conflict with law enforcement. If anyone hopes to build a server that caters to ALL walks of life, then this is going to be one of the most difficult problems to solve. Because there is another very simple statement that is also true, having to duck bullets & avoid being mown down on the sidewalk every thirty seconds, drives 'community' players away. Go from one extreme to another, look at the toxic world of GTA Online where you can't even manage to get through three words without someone throwing a bomb, then consider what Identity 'could' be. Criminals live ordinary lives too, they co-exist with the rest of the community, they go shopping with their wives, go to clubs, bars....they even bathe! Think about it, IF (and yes that's a big if) you stick to one server, once you've been arrested the police are going to know you. For example....Herzog is only the President of a Motorcycle club....until he, or one of his club, get arrested for gun running.....then, in the eyes of the police, he's the leader of an organized crime gang. What all of this means, for the potential criminals of Identity, is that if they attempt to live their lives of crime OFF the police radar....then Identity has the potential to be a real game changer. If not, then we're looking at GTA with frills. It's the players who will make Identity great, you. Think outside the box, be the best.
  23. How do we become cop and is there an age limit?

There are almost always exceptions to a rule, but speaking about maturity levels in general........well go and spend five minutes in GTA Online with voice turned on, but be prepared to have your ears bleed lol.
  24. Thanks Motown, much love man, we'll see you in Identity
  25. This Is not a good idea...

I'm going to fly in the face of convention & actually agree with some of your original post. When we open our server (that's if Identity ever actually gets off the ground) most people will be starting at basement level. There are obvious exceptions, first response services etc will need predesignated leaders right from the word go for example, but crime gangs etc, nope. A forum signature will not make you 'the best', you are going to have to get in world and both prove and earn that claim. While it never hurts to plan ahead, claims on a forum about biggest and best don't mean a thing until the game actually starts.
