  1. Finally decided to pledge

Welcome to Identity. I pledged one step below VIP, as I could afford it at the time. Recent updates are suggesting the module will be available soon, hopefully. I too am excited at the prospects of this game.
  2. The Liberal Progress Union

Ahh my hard earned taxes going towards criminal players does not sound like an enjoyable gaming experience. While I understand the whole free representation in real life, I don't quite see it in a game setting. While we're not yet sure of how things will work in game, I'm pretty sure being brought to trial in game would denote incontestable guilt. My response is based on the assumption that criminal activity will be recognized in the same way other games recognize it. I don't believe players will be able to make false accusations against other players, nor will police be able to detain anyone at any time, from my understanding. Like other similar games the player should trigger something in game, whether by witness or not, when they commit a criminal act. This would cause them to be flagged as a criminal in the game. If crimes are witness dependent - meaning all crimes must have a witness report - then there is the possibility that crimes will go unpunished. However, all crimes punished (brought to trial) will need the game to register the crime, meaning that the crime was actually committed. ArcheAge had a trial system, however all players brought to trial were done so after they had committed a crime - there were no innocents, and the entire trial depended on how many jurors pitied the accused, not whether or not they were innocent or guilty. In fact, many of the accused were repeat offenders. No one 'learned their lesson ' or stopped doing whatever it was that got them there - their entire goal was to commit crimes. As far as this game goes, a large portion of the population plans to do nothing but criminal activity, exclusively dedicating themselves to the criminal life. In reality legal representation is important to prevent a false positive - an innocent going to prison for a crime they didn't commit - however in this game a false positive will be impossible. Provided that the crime recognition in this game will likely function the same way most other games do, every single player in need of legal representation will in fact be guilty, with no possibility of innocence. With all of this being said, players who play the game 'legally' shouldn't have to pay for the enjoyment of those who play solely to commit crimes. Free legal representation to players who knowingly and willingly commit crimes is not something I would ever want to pay for, especially considering the fact that most of them will require 'free legal representation' multiple times a day. Basically you aren't offering 'free legal representation,' you're offering legal representation paid for by someone else, and strictly to guilty parties. Honestly what you're professing is counter productive - on one hand you claim you'll free criminals, while at the same time adding to the police force that is responsible for arresting the people you'll be freeing. You'll free more criminals which will require you to hire more police, which will then lead you to arresting more criminals, which will require you to free more criminals, which will require you to hire more police, which will.... well, you get the idea. It works best if you're not refilling the boat that you're trying to bail out. As for the whole 'free healthcare, transportation and education ' (not free, someone has to pay for it), I'll stop before I get on my rant about the utter absolute failure that is socialism. I wish you luck with your campaign, although I don't see it gaining much footing in a game where people don't want to give away what they've worked so hard to earn. Edit: Being very politically active in real life, I take things entirely too seriously, especially when a game played to escape the everyday politics of reality is mirrored in said game. My political passion will follow me wherever politics are in play.
  3. What rank have you bought from the shop ?

I just bought the Speed Demon.
  4. Will the "Town Square" module be late ?

I'm hoping it's released on a weekend, though I suppose I'll be grateful no matter when it's released.
  5. Drive-Bys

The last thing I want is for a GTA clone. Sure criminal activity will be part of the game, but the absolute chaos of GTA was the entire reason I stopped playing. Crime in Identity actually has a purpose, and hopefully very high risks with severe impacting consequences. If you're into driveby shootings, mass random acts of violence and destruction, GTA is the game for you. If you're into crime that takes thought, planning, and skill, Identity is the way to go. Identity is not and will not be another GTA.
  6. Town Hall will be available until beta, though you will be able to play the additional modules as they come out as well. I don't thing gameplay will be stagnant with the release of the additional modules. The first module is going to be the biggest (I assume), and I believe the others will come out relatively quicker.
  7. Apartment/Housing Customization Video

Any floor plans? I'm honestly debating my purchase based on apartments for offer. I'm assuming the 2 bedroom is the one shown in the video, though I am curious on the 1 bedroom luxury apartment.
  8. What will you RP in identity?

Honestly I haven't decided yet. There are so many possibilities and so many things to try that I don't want to commit to any one thing until I've had the chance to try them out. When I first found the game, I was ademant about sticking with the familiar - EMS or LEO - however that has changed as I've learned more about other possibilities. I could own and run a business, I could be a fashion designer or furniture creator, and by chance an artist or a writer (two things I seriously enjoy). Regardless of which path I choose, I'll definitely be sticking to the right side of the law.
  9. VIP package

I also plan on buying high, either SD or VIP. The whole apartment and clothes thing is a big draw for me, not to mention the car.
  10. Male/Female in Identity

As a female, I can't imagine playing as anything else. Hovewer, to each their own.
  11. Police Department

I haven't yet decided where I'll be going, though I feel I'd be better off sticking with EMS as originally intended. This is not to say it won't change or that I'm against the PD.
  12. Police Department

I'm definitely interested! I think it'll be great to have some organization to it as well.
  13. Hello from New Mexico, USA!

Hey everyone, my name is Kaitlyn, and I'm joining you all from the Four Corners area. I have been playing video games since the NES was released (I'm not Atari old, just NES old). Growing up I have been an avid gamer, everything from solitaire to World of Warcraft and Battlefield. I'm always itching to play a new game and experience something new. I have been following this game from afar for quite a while, avoiding getting my hopes up. This game looks like it has amazing promise, and hopefully a different gaming experience than we've ever encountered. While I haven't committed just yet, I will in the coming weeks. I have been severely burned by investing in ID games before. This game has been making steady progress and has become something I'm eagerly anticipating. I'm hoping to not only find a wonderful game that I can lose myself in, but a great community as well.
  14. We have a Huge problem!

I never said anywhere that we should be against Everywhere - odds are I'll try it too. I own hundreds of games, and tend to give most every game a try. Never did I say we should be down on or trash it, I'm simply replying to those who believe the sky is falling. I'm respond tho those who believe that Everywhere is going to kill Identity - it's not. I'm simply highlighting the differences and the reasons why Identity is safe. I hate to say some are overreacting, but some are overreacting.
  15. We have a Huge problem!

I'm not worried at all bout Everywhere, and the reasons I've mentioned remain the same. You can fret and worry about this, or you can just relax and wait to see what happens. Either way, its release is out of anyone's control, so there's really no point at all in making a big deal about this. This game is being developed as quickly as they can, and what you believe is a threat will not make it come out any sooner, nor do we want it to come out unfinished. If you're more interested in Everywhere, then by all means follow them, but don't expect everyone else to panic and jump ship like you. It's just a different game, it's not the end of the world, nor is it the end of Identity.
  16. My Start in Indetity

Hello and welcome to the forums! Business is a very popular choice in Identity, and I too am interested in it. I can't wait to see how the crafting process works, so I can see just how unique business can be. (i.e. does everyone create the same items in the same colors, or is there a way to ensure your product is unique to you or your business)
  17. We have a Huge problem!

@Mlam I wouldn't give it that much credit. It isn't being created by Rockstar, just a few people who left Rockstar - it has nothing to do with the company. Also, the developers of Identity have been building on ideas and plans that have been in place for years, so their experience and vision will have a far bigger impact than that of someone just deciding to do it. Let's say you're interested in something, so you put forth an enormous amount of effort into researching, creating and developing it, and you do so with a lot of passion because it's what you've been focused on for a very long time - you know what you're doing, and the product you create will show it. Someone else then comes along and says, "hey, I could do that. It would probably make a lot of money." That person then rushes out a basic copy/paste version of what you're creating. It may be similar, but it will not be the same. Even if it releases early, I'm not worried about it stealing from Identity. Besides, I never put much effort or interest into pay-to-win games like they have been creating.
  18. How long will the Modules be up for?

That is awesome! Thank you for responding so quickly.
  19. How long will the Modules be up for?

Will the modules and even beta have a NDA that would prevent anyone from sharing footage? I do some YouTube, and I think some of the coverage would help generate more interest and more investors, in addition to increasing the number of players in the module. Considering the fact that the module will be coming out in the following months, and that the price per account will go up as well, it'd be great.
  20. Being A Cop

As far as policing goes, I'm pretty sure there aren't any guilds per se, at least not yet. From what I have seen, criminal and business organizations are gathering together people, though I haven't really seen this elsewhere. Perhaps there will be as the game progresses and we see a light at the end of the tunnel, but nothing major right now. Most of us are simply scoping out players we'd like to play with.
  21. We have a Huge problem!

Not a problem from what I can see. First off, he left Rockstar, so therefor he loses the Rockstar backing and the Rockstar feel, not to mention the financial support. Rockstar games are popular because of the brand name and the experienced team they have together, not because of a few people. He's leaving that all behind in hopes of bringing some of what he's learned through them to this new game, which doesn't necessarily guarantee it any success. Secondly, the development is just beginning. From what I've read on it, there are no clear plans, just ideas. It may turn out to be similar to Identity, or it may turn out to be a very different game with the same ideas. The great thing about games is that you can have multiple games of the same type, and each will be very different. I'm certainly not counting out Identity, nor am I fearing for it at this point in time. I have no doubt the developers here know what they're doing, and will deliver us a great product. From what I've seen, they're already surpassing the customizability and creation that is allowed with any GTA game.
  22. Hello!!!!! From Russia!

@Santaclus thank you, same to you. Hopefully you'll find a great spot within Identity to call your own.
  23. Q and A

I'm watching it now, very excited for it!
  24. Hello!!!!! From Russia!

Hello and welcome to the forum! I recently started learning Russian, that's awesome! I can't say I'm fluent in any language but English, though I am learning, and know a little bit of several languages. I'm loving Identity too, and can't wait to see it become a reality.
  25. A simple hello

Welcome! I too was interested in starting a company dealing furniture, though since we don't know quite how items will be created, that's on the back burner for me. What is your intended focus?
