Well hello there, back about a year ago I saw this lovely game idea on kickstrarter and thought to myself I would love to be apart of it's development and community. I donated my 25$ and was excited for it's development. But truth be told, I kinda forgot about the whole thing and drifted off from my passion for roleplay games. Recently I saw a youtube video in my suggestions about Identity and remembered this unique game. So I came back to the website to check out what was going on and was surprised at the abundance of life sprawling on these forums. So i'm glad to announce myself as the newest member of this lovely forums. I'll probably be off and on a lot, but i'm hype to be a part of this community!

I can't stand Reddit to be honest, but that's a different story lol. I think it's pretty biased what your saying, but that's your opinion and what's a community without a nice little debate.

I see pretty much all the time on twitter, those players wanting Identity for console, But i don't see why they ask it. First off, consoles don't have a good player amount per server. Identity needs a lot of players on a server to be successful and that is never going to happen on a console with there server sizes. Identity is about interaction and also the map size is huge and so far I don't see how it will work if other games failed with interaction. PC is not a master race, it might be able to run more games but it don't make pc gamers any better. GTA has 24 max players on console, the map is not filled at all. Most places are dead but it has the AI to make up for the emptiness. Identity has little to none AI, and none at all driving around and so the map will be empty near to all the time + the careers, how will you be able to do everything this game offers? 24 players, what if 1 person is wanted and then he is in the middle of nowhere and your a cop, it would be near impossible to catch them. Identity would be great if console could handle everything like 300 players per server, give us an option to join a certain server and player interaction which failed in other places, but the question is would it actually be successful or would it be a downfall? I would definately play it if the devs could make everything be the same as the pc version work on a console version but as I said above, there is little hope for it to work. (just my opinion). Please don't argue, just put a reasonable opinion of your thoughts on this. Also I know it was tasked about before but it turned into a argument. This is purely because i wonder what benefits it would give on console/ which things won't change either. Also I would love it on both but I doubt it would be for one for atleast maybe 2 years after pc release that they would be able to even accomodate it to work on a cnsole.

The abundance of knowledge known as reddit. But DayZ is not designed to be an RP game, it's only the community that makes it RP. I can guarantee you that when DayZ comes out on console, there will be very little if any RP servers. It may be harsh, but it is true. This game is meant to be played by the community, and without the RP, there is no substance to the game atall. There has never been a game on console that incorporates this level of RP, and, stereotypically I must say, console players are much less likely to incorporate RP or follow rules as much as PC players.

In my opinion, I think that consoles being consoles have nothing to do with the server count. As Madmcardle said, there have been games that easily supported 200+ players on a single server. I don't see why anyone would think that consoles couldn't handle a large player amount, as it's only really a server side issue. I think there are two main issues with a console port, and that would be a controller scheme and the community. The controller's for console I believe will not have nearly enough controls to control something as in depth as Identity. This would mean they would have to revamp the control system entirely to make it work on console. The other issue is interest. Asylum is only a small scale company and, to use an example; Squad, the company who makes Kerbal Space Program waited over 3 years before they even considered a console port. So if there was little interest for a console port, why waste money making one. I also think that Identity is a game that requires a microphone to play, and less than 20% of all console players own a microphone. Also, it maybe the case that the console community isn't ready for a game that requires player interaction on an RP scale, and might not play the game as intended.

Am I missing something that's really obvious? Lol. I just don't understand this three years later thing, has it been this way with another game? It just seems strange to me to release something so much later just because it's on a different platform, or is that the norm? Look at it this way, if you were on console instead of PC would you be happy to wait years to play a game? I know I wouldn't lol, releasing it that much later would be missing the window of opportunity if you ask me, someone will have done something different/new in that time.

I think it's a bit unfair to say people won't interact, it depends on the players/teams etc. Some of my good friends I met playing on console, and are still friends with to this day, it's like saying all kids are immature, it's simply not true. MAG was huge when it come out, won a lot of awards and was actually a really tactical game with huge teams and a lot of communication to win, it really was a lot of fun. I'm actually met a lot more trolls/unfriendly people on PC to be honest, but I wouldn't go back to console now either.

Did you not read his post, he stated it that M.A.G has had it at 256 players at one time. I guess population can be done there but can every control be fitted on a controller. Also there are more trolls on the xbox. Also why did they do max 25 on xbox for GTA? and also how big was that game in general because none of the latest games which would be good has that many players. Also people won't interact with each other and there will be no control over anything because there won't be people moderating players. This game is not really going to work with no player interaction but really will be just another GTA if on console (my opinion).

Umm these cars are nice don't get me wrong, but the game is based on modern life so I am not sure these will be the sort of cars they are going for.

Mechanics will have a tow truck that much I know, if there are factories making cars then they will need to be transported to the car dealerships so I am hoping this is the way it will go

Arma 3 also runs with controllers, but they're terrible on Arma, and since this game has even more features , I doubt it will go smoothly for controllers. Console headsets include microphones, which they use to communicate. Only like 2% of the console gamers have stand alone mics. So, shitty headsets mean shitty audio feed, which is annoying as hell.

Main issues: Too many controls for consoles. Consoles have shitty headsets. Low server population on consoles. Me hating on consoles: They suck. They suck. I suck. You suck too. We all suck. They suck.

Firstly I am very sure this has been asked and answered, and here it is Parachutes Post Answered So just to begin with it, please can you stop posting things on the forum when you have not searched using the search bar function which is there for that specific reason so that the forum don't get overloaded with the same shit. Thank you. now please go and look at the answers in the other post and you have the question answered. Also yes, maybe they will because you can jump down from tall buildings in real life they might add it in the far future after game release but i doubt it right now.
