Yeah, lol. Honestly I know people irl who would cry and such if they were ever robbed and people who swear to god they'd kill someone if someone messed with 'em. :/

True but often times people talk big but when it comes down to it, they'd cry as well.

It just depends on the person man, which adds to the realism. There's always a risk when doing a crime. There's no risk if someone has to comply.

Never thought of it that way, true I guess.

    1. In Identity anything on you will be gone when you die.

    2. I am guessing you'll be able to take the money out of their dead body

    3. Honestly If I didn't have a gun on me I'd let the person take the money (in Identity) cause i wouldn't want to die, you could shoot them in the leg if they try to run since gunshots affect you apparently.

But people who don't care much for roleplay might rather they get killed than hand over the money willingly, because the result is the same.

I think it would be cool if the market was dynamic, for example in GTA V if you blew up a specific airline and invested in a competition's stock, the airline you blew up's stock would go down and the competition's stock would go up, making you money. But I believe that it making a profit on the stock market shouldn't be chaotic lol. Perhaps if a certain area usually seen as a ghetto, gets rejuvenated and is now a thriving and safe community, truck transportation could then travel through rather than avoiding this section of the city, thus making trips faster and cost less gas. So therefore, gas company stock would go down (less gas being purchased) and the companies using trucks to go through would reduce cost and increase efficiency, thus upping their stock.

The problem is that will lead to people shooting planes out of the sky, or the equivelant for whatever business they invest in. A stock market would be great, but it has to have the potential to ruin you if you aren't smart about it, otherwise they may as well make a 'free money' button.

  5. It will add to the realism of the game. In real life you'd have a better chance of carrying out any violent crime with more people, so the same should transfer into the game. If you're getting at adding more NPCs, that isn't gonna happen. The game isn't the sort of game where you have more NPCs than real players, it's the opposite.

But you have a good point about the robbing thing. What if, when getting robbed, people fight back 100% of the time instead of complying. Most of the time, people would be too scared to do anything if confronted by 2 guys with handguns, so there should be in-game measures to make this so in-game as well.

Like FearRP in Garry's Mod. Otherwise what's the point of robbing somebody, if every time you try, they fight back and you end up killing them and having a murder on your hands?

  6. You'd want to have a decent computer. From the looks of it the game will be fairly demanding, so don't expect to play it on a crummy laptop or mac. Apart from that there are no official system requirements.

@Vix will probably have some more insight.

    Paratus has also said

" While you can't own one of the banks in the world itself (which may be prone to being robbed), there's nothing stopping people from forming a corporation and advertising loans. In fact I imagine you could get incredibly wealthy doing just that if you had enough capital to invest and get started. Given that people are unpredictable, I'd say the hardest part would not be degenerating into a loan-shark and threatening people. :) "

Banks in real life provide other services aside from atm's and "safe" money storage. I don't imagine the banks in the game will provide such services such as interest on accounts and administering loans. The bank I plan to be running will be mostly for long term investments and savings and not as a repository for non-cash.

I actually saw Paratus saying this shortly after and meant to correct myself but forgot. Anyway, yeah looks like you will be able to run a bank of sorts. Who knows, if there is an IRS-type body, and you were willing to get your hands dirty, you could even store illegal money for people who couldn't put it in the bank.

    GTA kid? Nah not really

Well every post of yours I see you are asking them to add some unrealistic GTA feature which would ruin the game. It just seems like you don't realise that this is a roleplay game, not a GTA game. You have to spend time roleplaying (talking to people, watching TV, eating) and not just getting in your car and driving over 50 hookers.

There are so many types of protection.

    Police

    bomb squad

    FBI

    SWAT

    CSI

    Specialists

do you think they will all be represented? What differences will each bring?

There will definitely be normal police, obviously, which you will start as.

Since bombs are not in the game, I cannot see the bomb squad being part of it.

FBI will most likely be in the game, or I hope so at least. What they could do is merge the CIA, secret service, and FBI, because there might not be enough for people to do as one of the jobs, or even enough people to do the work. But if they merged them into one body that managed all the things those three organisations do, that could work.

SWAT we know will be in the game.

CSI I can't see being in the game.

Detectives definitely will, but I don't know what you mean by specialists.

  11. When a person calls 911 (or 000, depending on what they go with), the police should be able to detect where the call is coming from, as long as the person stays on the line for long enough. It could take, for example, 1 minute, or 2 for the police to properly trace a call, and if the person hangs up before then, it fails.

Say somebody is in a hostage situation where talking on the phone would get them killed, they could call the cops and leave the line open so the cops can hear everything that is going on, and also trace the call so that they can find out where it is going down.

Also, wiretaps really need to be in the game. For phones, so that the feds can listen in on organised crime related calls, but also bugs that can be hidden away in houses. I just can't see them not being in the game.

And of course if there are going to be wiretaps, there really need to be payphones. Mobsters often use payphones because they cannot be bugged, whereas their own phones will often be bugged. Having bugs and wiretaps would add more to the FBI job, because not only would they have to install them, but they would also have to listen in on them for incriminating information.

  12. People should have to call 9/11, and the police should be able to detect where the call is coming from, as long as the person stays on the line for long enough. Nobody really texts the police, but what you would do is call them and leave the line open so they can hear what is going on, and track your location.

Honestly a lot of these ideas are too big to comprehend, it would cost a fortune to get a car modded and extremely hard to get. If there are even going to be car mods i think that while the mod is being installed, the car is taken away from you for a long time.

People are forgetting that this is a game about realism, so you aren't going to get an armoured batmobile with machine gun turrets on either side no matter how much you pay.

  14. Since most stores will be run by NPCs, will there be any room for protection money rackets? Extorting people like this is serious business for the mafia, so it would be a real shame to leave it out. In case there isn't already some protection money feature, maybe one could be added?
