So in all those 'patches' you listed... there was no actual new playable functionality?

I think you will be lucky to get a new shop with nothing to buy in it and some additional karaoke songs! ;)

They enabled alcohol consumption, and marijuana effect, not much but it's something. Also, in case you haven't seen the new dev blog (#22), there is a couple of planned features that will be coming up later on.

    The Town Square Roadmap

    • - Guns, guns, guns! The shooting range in the basement of the police station will be opening up, giving you access to a few guns to try out (like the one pictured here).
This will give you a taste of how guns will work and feel. We'll show you how awesome the gun systems are with a video when we come closer to this release.
    • - TVs in apartments. You'll soon be able to watch YouTube and Twitch with your friends in your apartment by using TVs.
    • - Radios in apartments. Select from a dozen radio channels to stream into your apartments. In the full game, the available radio channels are chosen by the server operators.
    • - Improvements to the control and animation of players. We'll be polishing up the way players move to make everything feel smoother.
    • - Added security and ownership systems for apartments, allowing you to assign roommates and more.
    • - Lots of added clothing and character customization options.

In addition to the features above coming to the Town Square, we're also pondering work/job elements that can be brought into the Town Square as we'd like to introduce currency.

This guy is either very lucky, or has taken a real life course to handle a spin-out. :D

He actually met his beloved partner: the ditch xD

But in all seriousness, I used to play a lot more back then, I mean I still have 2900+ hours on ETS2 alone and 500+ hours on ATS I have all the DLC from Steam store and some extra from a few events. Now I've been more on a spree of playing FS19.

And the things that have already been advertised as content yet aren't there? Where is the build of the game in the videos they're continuing to use as advertisements? Where's that gameplay? Oh right it doesn't exist. They're lying and I don't understand how you can defend this game purely on potential

There's just a few things meant to be in Town Square that aren't available yet, like the option to watch TV for example. Also some of those builds you've seen (like in the crime video) are developer builds specially made for the video. Town Square is meant to be a social module from the very beginning, and I knew that from the first day I've learned about Identity, back in Q4 of 2016.

  4. It was already said that patch notes are posted on Discord, Twitter and on the forum. As for the main page updates, those seems to show Dev Blog and Dev Tracker sections only. Also, it was holiday times, which is totally understandable that there wasn't much updates. I don't see how that could greatly affect the image of the game though.

  5. Hey, it seems like nobody has replied to you.

I have a brickwall running through my apartment

This glitch has already been fixed.

Are we able to purchase furniture? If there is I have yet to find out how to even access them.

Furniture can be obtained from the Hotel Clerk. In order to access them, you need to enter your apartment, then open your inventory to see what you obtained.

Could you all add a stairwell so when the elevator is out we can access our places by stairs?

I don't think they'll do that for now. You'll have to remember that apartments are instanced (a bit like in GTA V online). Adding stairs would likely requires to rewrite some code and is prone to add more issues.

Why aren't the sinks, toilets, showers, refrigerators, cabinets, windows, etc etc accessible?

Players won't be able to interact with cabinets (in terms of animation). But it's a possibility that they'll add animations for using the tub/shower. For the rest, those are just little details, but it would be cool to add interactions for those down the line.

Have you all fixed the part where you sit in the movie theatre and get stuck trying to leave?

The bug where you get glued in the cinema after leaving seat has also been fixed.

  6. I know some features on the second module has already been worked on, especially on the art side. But for now the focus is on bug fixing. I know they added consumable effects the other day and more recently finally added the claimable apartments (about time for that one ).

    1) If I would like to buy a larger apartment, would I still pay full price or have my current apartment's cost deducted?

EG; One Bedroom to a Two bedroom - Two bedroom = $200

Is it still $200 or would I only pay $100?

You'll have to pay full price, since you buy each apartments separately and it's not an upgrade from one tier to another.

    2) As Identity expands beyond Town Square into the world, how complex will our interactions be with that world, specifically related to weather?

I'm a huge fan of Extreme Weather and Stormchasing, so I  would love to see Thunderstorms or Tornadoes on the plains and other types of occurrences like that sweep across the landscape!

The plan is that when you come up to something, if you think you should be able to interact with it, it's likely going to be interactive (but not everything). As for weather, there won't be anything special. There will be rain that's for sure, but no random events caused by weather.

    1 hour ago, disembodied said:

    3) And if there is weather like this, would the damage they cause to the world be only temporary or would it be constantly there until it's repaired?

EG; Telephone/Power Lines are downed in a storm and make a road impassable to normal traffic, temporarily cutting off normal traffic along that road until Utility Crews or Players themselves clear and repair the damage?

    4) Will our vehicles be able to be customized/upgraded and how will they react to the environment?

EG; Would I be able to eventually go Off-Roading and modify my vehicle with better equipment for such an activity?

And when I'm tired of getting my vehicle all muddy and dirty/dinged up, could I take it back to my garage or into a Town with a Car Wash or Auto Body to clean the mud off and fix it up?

Of course you'll be able to customize your vehicles. The type of vehicles and tires installed will affect the performance on various environments.
Car wash is one of the things that'll be added later on after the full release.

    5) Will we eventually be able to have our own maps of the world like the one on the wall in the Police Station's Lobby?

Will have to ask for that one. There's really not much info about the map. But the one in the police department is outdated.

    6) You mentioned that eventually there would be houses, and that these would be a limited aspect as opposed to our Apartments.

Therefore, would we only be able to purchase houses with money we have earned through work in-game?

Or would anyone just be able to Sign In, put money in their account via Paypal and buy a house like that?

Houses are unique and has to be purchased with in-game money. I know you haven't asked, but pledge apartments are special and can only be obtained from the website. There will be similar layouts in the game that you can buy with in-game money though.

  8. Can you post your hardware specs? (CPU, GPU, RAM)

I'm unsure if it could be related to hardware, and how the module isn't optimized, but I am aware of memory leak issues. Unsure if it could be the cause of the UI not showing up. You may want to try a couple of times. I didn't get any major issues when I ran the game yesterday.

Their is already player made paintings in the gallery

I recognize some submissions which were manually put in the gallery. I'd need some confirmation if the submitting feature is actually working or disabled. (I haven't personally tried it)

  10. There might still be issues with VoIP (communication protocol). From my experience earlier, I could hear someone, but my friend couldn't hear him for some reason.

As for players, yeah the collision can be weird and oddly you can even send people flying in the worse case. Unfortunately, us moderators cannot do anything about any players on the servers yet.

If you find any bugs, please report them individually (preferably) in the bug report section.

So why did they say we can try out apartments and check out the customise mechani cs

What was said is that you'll be able to customize your pledge apartments, and if you don't have any, you'd be given the small Studio one. Ironically, everyone has the Studio due to a bug. Also, there's a public version of each apartments which is only to preview how it looks, with no option to customize it.

  12. It's possible that the source of that bug is deep in the game engine, but I don't have any accurate information at the moment. I would also love that it gets fixed too. I had to try like 20 times before getting a successful login attempt.

Was a free UI software the previous one?

    4 hours ago, LuckyDuck said:

No, the other one I am not sure, but I dont believe the software was free as far as I know. However I find it was better IMO.

Previous software was Scaleform (no longer supported), current one is Coherent. With a little bit of searching, the Scaleform UI required a licence to purchase in order to use the software. As for Coherent (GT), it offers a free demo, which leads me to believe that it also requires a purchase in order to fully use it.
