Ah I see but I guess as I said above maybe the devs will give a option to disable trading/ selling those items

Also whats the point of buying the game if you don't play it and ruin it for themselves.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I am going to do it, I like to earn my in-game items, but there will be people that will take advantge. There was a big issue not so long back with the very thing in DayZ.

Last I heard micro-transactions will be purely cosmetic, but now I think they might allow apartments to be purchased with real money. Micro-transactions will only have items that won't give you an unfair advantage. For example, apartments are mainly for storage and a place to stay.

That sounds good, it not being anything to give an unfair advantage, but if these cosmetic items are tradeable in-game I think it will damage the economy.

Lets say a rare weapon, like the AK-47 is $500 in-game rather than play and earn that money I could just buy a coffee table for £2.00, trade it with a player for $500 in-game and boom, I got my AK-47 for £2.00

Well its not really hurting the economy, if its not hard earnt in-game money. Also once the other person has the in-game money, they more than likely spend it which means the money is going back into the economy. Also I don't know if maybe the devs will give an option for private community server owners to enable/ disable the feature of allowing cosmetic items being traded when bought with real money.... That would stop this issue you are thinking that will harm the economy.

But it is hard earned in-game money, that's what I am getting at lol. The point I am making is players will take advantage of it, why play for X amount of time to earn that in-game money if you can just buy something for a couple of pounds and sell it for a good price in-game.

It will depend on the item. If it is an apartment it probably won't be sellable or tradeable.

Apartments will be micro transactions? I thought they were purchased in-game? So it's possible that some purchases might be tradeable in-game?

  6. Hello all!

Me and another member was just discussing the items purchased through micro transactions and I was wondering what the plans were with regards to trading those items in-game?

For example, if I was to purchase a t-shirt for say £3.00 real money would that item be locked to my character or will it be tradeable for in-game currency? The issue I see with that is the potential to affect the in-game market/currency, and would basically be trading in-game currency for real money.

Well, clothing won't sell for too much will they, so not really a big effect on it and the in-game money they receive will be player earnt money.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree James, but I think we have stumbled upon my first question lol.

Well I want to do a lot of you say here, I will need to earn money quickly and so growing a substantial amount of drugs to be able to sell them and then to buy my buses for my bus company. Also I want to buy a mansion but will be driving one of my buses to earn money even while living a life of luxury. So I can't vote on any of these because I want to do them all.

I like it, doing a little wrong to do right, starting your own business. Nice! :)

Yes, but I am sure if you find a community server, they might not allow the micro transaction on there server. But also it can't be stopped unless in the server and also why would it be a problem, unless the item was only available through micro transactions then it would maybe be a problem with how much it sells for but otherwise the more they are sold the more the price drops and its player earned money getting traded not real money for in-game money so to be honest it won't matter.

But if you purchase an item for real money and sell for in-game currency you are basically selling in-game currency for real money, just with an item, if that makes sense? Which could potentially affect the trade market/currency a lot.

You don't need air veichles just to have parachutes. Did you even read the post?
How does having a hunger games like island  where you have to travel with other participants by some ferry break immersion?

So the parachutes will be for base jumping, that kind of thing?

But, there could be a work around this as people could take screenshots of your newspaper and post them on forums etc. Therefore avoiding payment.

Or just shoot you and take your paper lol :P

Well its not something to worry about because if they didn't have thatit will take out a lot of interactivity between players.

True, one thing to think about though is the micro transactions as this could lead to a way of trading currency, so maybe the purchased items should be locked to characters? Just an idea of course, but if you can buy a t-shirt for £3.00 and then go and trade it for $500 in-game I can see it being an issue.

  13. So I was just wondering, with a few different groups on here and with over 2000 members what the percentage was when it comes to good vs evil, will you be our hero helping out the new players and upholding the law?  Will you be living a life of crime and shady deals? Or will you be chilling in your mansion living the life of leisure?

I just thought it would be interesting to see the balance of players on the forum.

I would like to Pre-Order this game

Does the $15 Dollar pack (CITIZEN)  give you a key on Steam when it's out for Steam? Or is it only the $30 pack (FOUNDER)?

Just to verify as I was wondering myself, they will be generating Steam keys for pledges

  15. Guns will be visible if carried on your personal, at all times, you will be able to hide it in your car though, this is for knowing of a potential threat as I understand it, if you don't want to be arrested, don't carry a gun

  16. Hacking in general would be an awesome edition, would kind of remind me of Watch Dogs, I loved that game. If that was to be a career path in Identity I would certainly go for it, but I am not sure how it could be implemented and be fair at the same time.

  17. I am sure the devs will have a plan to stop people selling for real money, it was one of the most annoying and damaging things in WoW in my opinion, I hope it is nipped in the bud in Identity

  18. A similar post has already been answered hope this helps :)

This is subject to change, but as it stands right now there are a couple things to be considered here.

First, some crimes are automatically charged against you. This is necessary to keep people in check and help avoid the game becoming a big killing ground. That said, there is a threshold for certain crimes (each crime has a severity rating) which will not be automatically charged. In this case, someone who witnesses it literally has to contact 911 and will have the option to report the crime. Once reported, that person becomes wanted.

Now you mention that the police would be notified, but in this case even with a murder they would not be notified, you'd simply become wanted for a murder (which is a pretty serious matter). If a witness makes a report to 911 the police WOULD be notified.

There are some cases where killing someone has less of a severity in which case it would need to be reported, such as if you've killed someone in a rival gang or if the game determines a kill was likely in self-defense.
