  1. Well, welcome Gilbey! I must say, you are very unorthodox with asking for a little bit of humour, but I am sure we can work something out. That's an interesting job, a gemologist...  Here's a joke I totally didn't just Google for a quick lame joke...

Q: Why did the geologist take his girlfriend to the quarry? A: He wanted to get a little boulder.

A: He wanted to get a little boulder.

I hope that wasn't too terrible. Greetings from Australia! :)

  2. This thread should answer some of your questions.

    Career:

Yes, the government will appoint and elect people into authoritative jobs.

You would be promoted over time and with votes from the citizens of Identity.

I am not sure there is a time frame. But you could be demoted or fired if you make large mistakes or are not on the game enough.

    Same answer as above.

If you have any other questions @TravisGB, you can PM if you would like.

  3. Hey, @TravisGB, and welcome to the forums!

To answer your question, to become a member of the police department, you must apply while in-game. It's a difficult and mature role, so I hope you are up for it! Next, to change from being an immigrant, you must purchase a tier from the shop. It can be the lowest tier if you wish.

Also, if you do have a passion for the police force, I would recommend reading 'The Precinct' for more information on police. Finally, I also live in Australia, so I hope to see you in-game!

    Hope this helps.

You cannot have babies in Identity. However, there are medical professions, although I believe its only paramedics at the moment. This means there will be no 'doctors', just paramedics. The difference being that a doctor would stay in a hospital, whereas a paramedic travels to the affected patient. Though there will likely be hospital buildings, and I am only speculating here, you may only replenish your health there.

    Hope this helps!

  5. My whole plans for this game revolves around this 'corporation system'. One thing that got me interested most when reading "Identity Insider #1", was the statement; 'They have the added ability of owning assets and issuing work orders to their real-player employees.'. Issuing a work order? That must mean there are unique game mechanics just for manufacturers. Interesting.

I like what you have listed, but I personally think any careers that real players can pursue were covered with the original four (Delivery, Legal, Transportation and Manufacturing). Furthermore, we, the leaders in corporation creation, can design and create our own in-game logo! Incredible! And a telephone number. I am getting that feeling of hype that I haven't experienced since I first started day dreaming about what is game will become.

But keep the ideas coming, what we suggest now might be implemented into the game!

I'm so excited that the devs are talking to us again! :)

Ever heard of publicity? Publicity is intangible, meaning without physical form. That means I don't have to be playing the game to create a name for myself. When someone on the forums talk about weapons manufacturing, they think of me. Meaning, when we finally do get in the game, if you are searching for a weapon you know who to look for... Andrew Donaldson.

Also, if you plan out how and what you are doing before you get in the game, you will already be ahead of others who haven't planned for their career choice.

    P.S. I wouldn't fuck with @Herzog

  7. I can understand what you are saying, but if it costs that little for a gun, then everyone would have one. And that's something the devs do not want. As my character, Andrew Donaldson, is a weapons manufacturer, I have researched a lot about this topic; the devs don't want guns to be easily accessible to the players, otherwise it will turn into GTA. Depending on your job/career, someone could make make that money ($250) in a day, easily.

So yes, weapons should be at a reasonable price. But if they are too low, then everyone will have a pistol up their sleeve and have the ability to start a mass shooting.  I do hope the developers get this right.

  8. 16 hours ago, Profender said:

If you have a political structure made by the people who play on a specific server then they can vote on gun control, police, how to control "mafia"... gangs, etc.  Isn't that one of the special features of the game? Controlled by the players?

Yeah, it is. The system of government is going to be a very interesting system. I just hope they get it right.

  9. I also want to point out that weapons are difficult to get your hands on. Especially the more powerful guns. I know this as I am a weapons manufacturer. So that means that almost always, the police will have the better firearms in the fight. That means that criminals will be more inclined to avoid confrontations with police. If the server is public, the Devs have got admins who will regulate and ban users who do not follow the rules. Hopefully, this also applies to private servers.

  10. Listen, I have been on these forums for a while now, and sadly, almost all of what you have said is true. The devs aren't supplying us with updates like they should. We gave money to these people because we believed in what they were selling (a revolutionary RPG). Yet, no updates and rarely any pictures? Its infuriating. But, there is, and sorry for putting it so bluntly, jack shit we can do about it.
