I dont understand why everyone is so defensive of these fucking devs man, its like you know something nobody else does.

Because most of the attacks on them are unreasonable.

What happens after they finish the apartment system within the next year, hopefully? They have to develop a way for you to earn money, cosmetics for the game to be entertaining, and a multitude of other items. If there's still fixing bugs within the apartment system, they've got a long way to go before the town module can hold more than a day of content before backers get bored and request more.

    Why are you here?

First things first, I've never developed a game before nor am I evenly remotely qualified to but even I can see some big flaws in the development progress and team for Identity and instead of just complaining about it (Which at this stage I could probably do all day) I have some suggestions for them.

    1. Just release the module in it's current state, as long as it's playable no one is expecting a masterpiece for a pre-alpha build I understand you want to make it perfect so everyone get's hyped about how perfect it is and therefore donate more money but your constant delays are causing all your current fans to turn on you. I know based of everything that's happened so far I can't possibly recommend this game to any of my friends due to the fact we're virtually kept in the dark of progress.

    5. Acknowledge your mistakes, but more importantly actually learn from them. I understand that a game of this size is no easy task otherwise I'd have been down before but whenever someone makes a complaint on this forum they get attacked for doing so and then almost completely ignored, 99% of people here and complaining because they want this game and they're getting frustrated because they're not being herd and left in the dark. Respond to them if even with a generic message "We understand you're upset and we can definitely do better we plan on doing this so "complaint" isn't a issue anymore." or "We're currently working that issue by doing this"

These are my opinions on the current biggest flaws on the development progress of the game if you don't agree with my feel free to say so below I'd love to hear your opinions on what you think they could do better or how I'm wrong. More importantly I'd love the developers to comment on this post maybe some of this has been already incorporated and I didn't know or they plan on following some of this advice.

They can’t release the current version if there’s a flaw that causes a database crash... Don’t understand the logic in the first one.

Addressing number 5, your entire point is undermined by the fact that most people who are complaining are complaining based on an emotional response and a general lack of information on what’s currently going on. It’s not that fucking hard to figure out why they’re not releasing the current build immediately or why they’re not releasing the website (I know they have but it was a common complaint before). This isn’t rocket science.

I don’t feel like addressing any of your other points personally but if you’d like me to, I’d be more than willing to.

Nice assumptions. I've seen plenty of people concerned that the Town Square still isn't done and wondering why. That isn't complaining, that's voicing a concern. What you are doing is complaining.

And sure, there are some people doing what you're saying, but I've seen more people asking what is holding the release up (this is a very valid question) than complaining that it isn't out yet.

Except that these questions have been answered multiple times in exact carbon copies of these threads. It gets old dealing with these threads because it's just a shit storm of people who all agree that the game is going to be shit and/or will not release and we're stuck defending the title.

It's not difficult to understand why it's not out, and it's not all due to the developers themselves. They've had multiple stops with other companies waiting for assets/textures from their sister company to be implemented, their new website is being held up by the company assumably providing the means of hosting the website, and, despite others thinking the contrary, they've been developing the base mechanics of the entire rest of the game. Does nobody understand that it's not just 'apartment designing' and 'animations' but the actual systems that run in the background for the game?

Think about an operating system, and then the services running in the background. The services help the operating system function. The systems being coded provide function for the rest of the entire game. This isn't a difficult concept to comprehend. I've been following this game since their Kickstarter, checking in about once every three months or so since (hence why I didn't sign up immediately when the site went up), and the pace of development while seeming slow, was expected for what I've stated previously.

Wasn't the jump animation fugly since the last stream and was going to be changed? Why wasn't that listed on the tracker at the time?

Tell me where you’ve seen anything specific, such as this, on the tracker.

    7. Ask for Likes. Likes are given to those for contributing useful information in a discussion.

    8. Abuse reports. Reporting content because you do not like a specific user adds extra work for moderators.

    10. Make low-effort posts. Contribute useful information to the discussion, and avoid going off-topic.

    11. Discuss Politics/Religion. These subjects are sensitive and may offend others.

I'm particularly talking about rule #11. This is why it is a rule as this sort of crap happens.

Why is it that everyone who has a negative opinion on Identity can't even put together a sentence properly let alone spell things.

They lack the intelligence to form proper sentences, which means they lack the intelligence required to come to competent conclusions. This also includes researching answers to their own questions, reading the words on their monitor, and comprehending that just because errors occur does not mean everything is fallacious.

The obnoxious attitudes and stupidity that @HairyGrenade@LuckyDuck and the Identity team have to endure is unbelievable.

I don`t know how the idiot on here is, if you don`t like my opinion.

Then stop replying to me like a dweeb and go tell your mommy the internet was mean to you, and don`t agree with you.

What the fuck are you on a about? I’ll repeat my arguments for you, and hopefully you’ll be able to comprehend them.

Nobody wants to hear you bitch like a sperg. If you truly do not like the game developers and highly distrust anything Asylum releases, then ask for a refund. Your attitude overall on these forums is insipid and juvenile. It’s fine if you want to be that way, but no one wants to hear it. Get a refund and quit bitching or fix your attitude and reconsider what may be afflicting Asylum from releasing the module and/or their new website.

It just have relay bad dev`s.

State of Identity is that its first module is not released but available Soon™.

    See tracker for more "info".

Just ask for a refund already. All I see from you on the forums is bitching like a massive cunt. Nobody wants to hear it. If you do not like Identity and their devs this much, and you continue to choose to not refund your purchase, then you’re an idiot. Read where people are trying to explain to you what’s going on, and then make a decision on your opinions. Whatever this mess of thoughts coming from your head is right now, needs to be reconsidered before you make yourself out to be a sperg.

Ah, such as the unregulated markets within South-East Asia that provide their workers with less than two dollars per day without any health and safety Laws?

"Stupid ass response"... I am a future professor of the political sciences with a historical analysis of economic systems throughout the globe. Interested in engaging in a serious discussion without resorting to weak ad hominems?

A free-market capitalist system is a system that resulted in the thousands of deaths of children caused by work-related accidents during the late 1800s within The United States of America. I.E. Thirteen year-old chimney sweepers.

The “stupid ass response” was more caused by the fact that most people on these forums are children who can’t spell for the life of them, my mistake in assuming the same from you. You say future professor, may I ask where? And unregulated markets have never been good, especially when said markets lack sufficient laws for workers as you said. But America today has laws protecting workers from egregious work conditions. It wasn’t a free market economy causing the poor work conditions, it was a lack of laws as you said.

Communism/Socialism consists of more democratic characteristics than capitalism. In fact, Capitalism contradicts democratic values since the capitalistic system serves the interests of the "individual" while a democracy serves the interests of the "majority", which conflicts with one another when both systems interconnect. I.E. Lobbying.

Explain how Capitalism serves the interests of the individual.

    I had hopeful/positive feelings about the preview. It looks like a solid base. However I wanted to see a little more. Not everything of course, but more than what they showed on the clip. I feel we didn't get an adequate enough preview of gameplay but rather mostly showing off the graphics and layout of town. ^^;

I'm just hoping they fix the animations. I know they said they would, but I think Motown said he thought the walking and jogging anims were fine. They don't look... Human to me, I guess.

  13. Sorry, the last poll had 10+ choices and most of the options were negative. This poll aims to merely condense everything so it's not just 20+ choices of synonyms for 'sad' or 'angry'.

The next poll addresses feelings on whether or not you want Asylum to release more footage, or if you would like to wait and see for yourself personally when they release the module.

I ask that for the sake of keeping civility in this thread, that we do not bitch about the 'lack' of transparency from the development team or that we 'deserve' footage. If you would like to see footage personally, then say so in a reply. Nobody wants to see an entitled bitch be a pansy about the dev's not constantly releasing information 24/7 for any reason whatsoever.

Let me say that my faith has been shaken not only because of the 3rd delay(that I know of) but because of almost every single one of the ppl who I told about this game and got them to pledge, has come back to me pointing out these facts to me and I gotta tell you, your not helping your case setting all these deadlines for yourselves and then missing them. I got to be honest here...this last delay is a bit disconcerting for a lot of people that I've sent your way. Dev blogs with more promises that this won't take much longer aren't very reassuring after the 3rd time

...Let me state that I bought a PC because of this game. After years on console, the idea of a game this epic, that can really distinguish PC gaming from console, made me decide it was time to get a PC. Now if they can pull it off, Identity can give us a game worthy of playing on some of these insanely priced rigs we pay for. But honestly after all the hype, 3 delays that I know of, 2 of which were further from the first because they didnt want to come out with a date prematurely and miss it. Which they did twice anyway...Now there is a more detailed progress tracker, which is honestly what we shoulda had in the first place, that doesn't look very complete. It looks so incomplete it that it makes me wonder how they could announce and miss 3 release dates in the first place.

Now I'm not sitting here with a $15 to $30 "pledge"...In My Opinion that isn't a pledge. That's just trying to get an epic game for a pittance of what it's worth. I mean GTA went for $60 brand new for how long after it released?  Gta is only life as a criminal. Not to mention they had a blank check to make it with thousands of people involved in development. Identity is life from a criminal side, working class side, civil servant side as well as many other aspects. And ppl think it's gonna get made by "pledging" $15-$30, now imagine how watered down GTA would be if they only invested a quarter or half of what they did to develop it. They put roughly 265 million dollars into developing/marketing, just the criminal side of life. Now either the fan base expects you guys to work a whole lot of hours, or put 264 million on top of our 1.1 million...That is why I DONATED what I did because this game can be so much more than gta, but it won't happen without our help...

I am not asking for a refund, the money I put in was theirs to complete the game, or if they didn't. I really want Identity to become a reality. But if WE as their player base and investors, don't give them enough funding it won't come out. They'll either have to give up or get outside funding, if they get outside funding they could have to give up alot of artistic freedom's. We invest to keep the game WE want to see come to life...They would invest to make money, so certain things would get chopped. I paid for 60 my game, and gave another 190 towards helping Identity become real. I realize the scale of this game and what it's going to take to get made, and 1.1 million isn't gonna cut it. A massive portion of what it takes to make a game is man hours. People don't work for free...So if it took them so long to make gta with a blank check and thousands of ppl.

How long and how much will it take to make a game that is bigger in scale than one of the biggest games released to date. To say GTA isn't massive is crazy, and this is so much bigger than that. This is like GTA, meets the Sims, meets police, fire & EMT simulator, meets politics & government simulator, meets drug making simulator, meets hunting simulator, and so on and so forth. So I am hoping that things really are going as good as we hear.  But it seems to me that maybe we aren't being told the whole truth...are they getting enough funding, or something else...It seems that we are only hearing about the good side of development, honestly the only bad things I've heard is when a delay happens. I think we deserve to be kept in the loop a little better. At the very least more than a very cryptic progress tracker with no date and another "minor " setback promise.

I have $250 into this game, I don't wipe my ass with hundreds either, but a game that's this massive of an undertaking is gonna need as much help as we can give it..With that being said we've seen a lot of telling us how fast things are moving, and top industry talent is working overtime in overdrive, and things are moving faster than they thought, you guys have a powerful new server making nightly builds for testing on steam. Everything is beginning to have that polished feel you expect in a real released game? Yet 3 delays, and only a scripted looking "game play" trailer...And now no release date just a more detailed progress tracker that really looks like there is a very LONG wait ahead of us...yet its predicted to be yet again a very "minor" wait.

Everything you’ve listed in the beginning seems to be entirely your fault. Nobody pushed you to buy a computer. That was your choice. While it was good you got other people to pledge for this game that doesn’t mean they should come to you to bitch, because it was their choice to pledge, not yours, so I wouldn’t get too worked up over that.

Are you a dev mate? I happened to be one. You need to understand the lifecycle of every project which is determined before the project starts. If you plan your project to finish at a specific date, lets say late 2016, but you dont follow the timetable and waste time on useless things then the team lead is useless.
Also, from a business prospective is very unprofessional to remove the *TESTING*  date 3 days before the deadline.
One last thing. You said. ""Step in line with every other patient supporter. We all want the game, but delays do not entitle you to anything extra."" . Believe me this is not how it works nowadays. There is no line here. Unless you want something right and delivered at its time you need to push.

You being a dev doesn’t make you anymore correct (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_authority). Because you’re not lol. And you’re not even workinng on this project, so while you say they may be wasting time, the actual problem might’ve been caused by something they can’t even control.

Regardless if it is professional or not it doesn’t entitle you to anything extra. And how’s pushing gone for us? Oh-.. Oh right, it’s had absolutely no affect on the issue.
