Hello! Recently i have been criticized by people and i fully understand what they are going for. I am very inexperienced i been around for only a couple of days and i am already going big. I should try to learn and improve my abilities to an extent that i am able to run for Governor again.

I am KolSkywalker, officially backing out of this political race. I am giving my full approval to Bobby Cruz.

This topic will now be closed but i will still reply to the topic and maybe before the game is finished i will run for Governor.

    BYE!

    I appreciate your support KolSkywalker!

Don't be too discouraged. The game is far from being released which leaves you plenty of time to explore other options and build your knowledge and experience in the forums. Happy gaming!

You've wrote an exceptional thread and I applaud you for that but, what makes you different from everyone else applying for Governor?

They all have the same ideas but different ways to present them so why should you be picked?

I wish you the best luck nevertheless :)

This is a great question. First, I'd like to thank you for your kind comments!

It's rather difficult to try and distinguish myself from other governors on the forums and since the game is so early in development. It is unclear what exactly will be modifiable in politics. However, I believe that my platform, Involvement, Ideas and Impact, separates me from other candidates. One of the biggest aspects of my campaign and subsequent election, if I am elected, is the involvement of the citizens. Hearing from them directly will be absolutely necessary in creating a government that serves the people.

As far as distinguishing myself as an individual, I don't plan to have any business or other entities in the game. I know that some other candidates already have those set up, which is perfectly fine, but I believe that by me not having any other entities eliminates accusations of corruption or conflicts of interest. I plan to live a modest lifestyle and put in an immense amount of work into my career as a politician even if I am not elected Governor. Thank you again for the question! I apologize for my late response, I've been quite busy with school and work. Feel free to ask me anything else though, I appreciate it!

Frank has been good to us and I ensured he would have all his members back together due to the fact that he can't post! It was simply a favor. So don't assume I actively recruit criminals for fun like some fool. You wanna call me corrupt then call me corrupt! I know what I am. No slick talking cliche politician is gonna change that! And like myself and my manager just stated, we didn't state any one supported us. We stated that he was in OUR good grace. Please, read before you post. Your advice is to run a clean campaign, how's that going for you Bobby? I run my game campaign the way I see if. If I openly accept aid from criminals then so be it! I'll be committing no crimes if that's what you mean to imply! Remember this is a game and my policies work the best. Nobody wants the stress of the real world in a game. Stick to being slick Bobby. Run your campaign and I'll run mine. You wanna be the cliche politician go ahead. Don't get in a social brawl for what you feel may be a shot at my campaign.

    It's going well, thank you.
It seems you are getting quite defensive. I'm not taking shots at your campaign, I'm just calling your corruption out. It's just a game and all in good fun. Good luck.

Sabotage? No, I enjoy the competition. You may not be aware of this, but you cant remove forums once posted. I have rejected aid from all criminals, though I have not limited them from joining our political party. One group particularly has been very good to me! Bobby, this isn't a threat. But you don't wanna be an enemy to The Royal Family Political Party. Many who support me (good and bad) will do the needed to ensure I win and I don't want you to get in their way. @ThomasHetch  & @JoelKeys have found great favor with the party. It would be wise of us all to do the same!

I am fully aware. However, you are active on just about every Luprano Family post. Nevertheless, it is concerning that you actively recruit and allow criminals into your campaign. Also, you have yet to refute the fact that you will run a corrupt campaign. You state that the people who support you will do what's needed to ensure you win and that "I shouldn't get in their way". Sounds like a corrupt tyranny to me. Also, name dropping governors and claiming they support you when I don't see anywhere where they have publicly stated their support? I advise you to run a clean campaign.

Yes, yes I do think it's corruptible! That's why I've changed my view and went about things differently.  However,  I know my laws and government overall is most beneficial to the Island and I will do what's needed to ensure I win and keep out cliche politicians that have cliche policies that won't work. You can look at me as a mix between Obama, Trump and Lucious Lyon!

I still don't understand. How have you gone about things differently? The thread in the crime section of the forum is still up and running. Plus, you just said that you know your laws are better than anyone else's and you will "do what's needed to ensure you win". Sounds like you haven't changed your view at all, and still want to sway the election and sabotage the other campaigns.

@BobbyCruz, the only concerns I have are that with higher minimum wage ($15/hr), there comes higher prices of goods due to labor cost increase. This doesn't help the economy much. I'd say the education and training to receive higher paying jobs through hard work would be a better focus as opposed to a simple minimum wage increase.

Also, the rules set for use of force are to be dictated by the Cheif of Police in their Policies and Procedures. Split second decisions sometimes must be made, even if they happen to be the wrong ones. As for criminals with weapons, that is technically a justified use of deadly force. But of course each situation is to be independently assessed. I, myself, have been tased before in training. It's 5 seconds of immobilization, then it's over (although you still feel tingly all over). The only reason people have died from tasers in the past is because of high repeat of 5 second cycles (such as about 10 times, which is criminal) or prior heart or other medical conditions that I'm sure we don't have to worry about in the game.

When a you receive a 5 second cycle from a taser, your muscles seize up until the electric shock stops. During those 5 seconds, you don't breathe. Continuously cycling electric current through a body causes the muscles and organs to stop working for an extended period of time to the point where they cannot recover on their own.

It's not the taser alone that harms people. It's the mistakes and poor training that some officers receive that make all tasers and officers look bad. In conclusion tasers should be more acceptable in game and the usage/regulation generally falls upon the Chief of Police.

Thank you for your response Lil Fish! Not all my policies and stances are set in stone as we will have to see how customization in the game will be as far as government goes. However, my biggest campaign platform is hearing out citizens and I appreciate your feedback. I absolutely agree about the rules set for use of force. They should be dictated by the Chief of Police, thank you for pointing that out. If you have any more concerns or questions please feel free to comment or direct message me.

We'll Mr. Keys I consider myself a politician, but not a "professional" politician. I do believe there is a difference between something and a professional something. To be a singer you just need to be able to sing, to be a professional singer it takes a whole lot more! No matter I feel this debate has drawn out to long and I think you ended it very well! I don't believe this was the idea of The First Governor Debate Sporan had in mind! Do you know when he plans to have it?

Sporan is a busy person as most of us are. I'm sure that once he finds some free time he'll be able to set up a debate or interviews with candidates. No rush though since the game is awhile away!

Haha, reasons I can't explain friend.

Very well, I respect your decision not to speak about it. I am always available to talk about my stances on issues. Feel free to message me if you ever change your mind or would like to discuss anything else.

Arky, I'm interested as to why you don't think it's a good idea? I would love to discuss this further and get your input.

  11. According to the developers, making money will be equivalent to making money in real life. You'll have to work a job and get paid just like in real life. They are going for a life simulation so making it as realistic as possible is their goal. It won't be easy but it won't be impossible. However, it will be more difficult to become rich.

  12. Nice to meet you Skarekrow!

Looks like you have some great ambitions for the game! We share in your excitement!

If you want to check out some clothing designs, I believe the Identity Facebook and Twitter pages have some pictures. Also, check out the recent developer Q&A by Powergaming7 on YouTube, they talk quite a bit about clothing and lots of other cool stuff!

Great to have you here and welcome to the community!

  13. Hey Kracken!

Thanks for using our conversation as an example! I think this is a great thread you've made to help connect the members of the police community with those that are running for government positions. In my opinion, I think you'd be a great moderator if we ever had some kind of debate between the candidates for Governor!

    All the best,
    Bobby Cruz, Candidate for Governor
