  1. If I remember correctly I think map expansions will be handled via the passport.  As they add areas you buy the passport stamp to allow travel to the new region.  I'm not averse to microtransactions too.

Actually hold that thought, we dont want an ARK Survival Evolved on our hands. The charaters look disgusting because some people will make really ugly charaters.
Maybe we will get an selection of preset faces to choose from, but we can change the hair, beards, eyebrows etc later.
    That might work the best

Good point.  No one wants the monstrosities that Ark brought about. :)

  3. The pet AI could prove difficult to make them behave properly in public spaces.  I imagine the house pets would be simpler to implement, parrot in a cage that talks smack when you walk in, or a cat that has shredded your couch etc.

  4. I can't imagine they'd miss out a character creation.  It would be a real shame to go for so much freedom/realism in the game world and then have all the player look the same.

I hope the town module gives us a chance to fiddle with our faces :D

Also, Jabba, I too would like to see an option for plastic surgery once I'm in game.  I'll want to change my face if I end up on a wanted poster...

  5. For a game like this I think a comprehensive food crafting/cooking system is a must.  It's exciting to think of buying fesh produce (player grown of course) and then cooking up a batch of 'Binky's apple pie' to take to the picnic.

  6. I'm in to this idea, kinda falls into the 'living off the grid' mentality.  I quite fancy role playing a grizzly, old hillbilly living out in the sticks with a field of...let's call them herbs...and a moonshine operation on the side.

  7. I hope we can develop/manufacture our produce into other products.  It'd be amazing to start small.  like if you could take raw ingredients and turn them into artisan products, make your product popular through advertisement and then end up with a factory making and selling your idea.

Greetings! Glad you could join us! Hope you won't do anything sexual with us, yet. But please do so to them herbs.

Also need a job or something then I am always here!

    Lol  :)

    Cheers for the welcome.

  9. I'd like to see animation customization options.  Better skill/proficiency could unlock fancy flourishes or weapon stances?  You'd go to a shooting range or a weapon testing area and prove your talent to earn the unlock.  You could even have career-specific animations too.  Police hold their gun different to a high-ranking gangsta for example, or a chef holds a knife different to a doctor?

  10. I'd be interested to know if player-business branding is possible?  Not the cattle-burning branding but rather the commercial kind.  For instance, can I design a logo for my company and then have that logo appear on billboards, truck/bus sidings, on TV?  Is it possible to create a product/brand with it's own identity???

One interaction i would really love, is the ability to shake hands, this would be great for everyone, such as making a business deal, and would add more immersion. Other interactions that would be cool would be the ability to hug and kiss other players, which they would have to accept to do the action.

I would love these emotes too.  The only issue i can see is player height and animations.  If our height is not and option and everyone is the same, or limited to say three settings (short, average, tall) then the animations could be worked out.  However, if it's slider based then the animations would be a nightmare to make them look acceptable.

  12. 'Not rich enough to own a server-farm?  Don't have a garden or a greenhouse?  Then why not get a plot at your local community garden?  For a low monthly rent you can own a small instanced plot and gain a footing on the ladder of self-sufficiency.

Limited to 15 plots, unsuitable for livestock, each community garden is a persistent Sub-Hub where you can get to know fellow green-thumbs like you.  Within your designated plot you are free to design the garden of your dreams, or use planters to grow your own food.

If you and your fellow gardeners feel like working together then you should consider entering the 'Bloom-Box' competition.  Produce a show-stopping garden in any of the categories and wow the judges to win wonderful prizes.'

I think this would be a great addition to the game, if it isn't already in the plans.  I like the idea of growing my own veg, or having a small hub of like-minded people to meet up with, a sort of randomly-appointed guild.  I guess the actual instance could hold more people than plots, that way visitors can come in and walk around.  Visitors could even pay an entrance fee or buy some of the produce from a player-supplied farm shop?

'But beware budding gardeners!  Allowing unscrupulous visitors into your oasis could result in the petty theft of your valuables.'

Maybe a low-rent allotment is cheap but can be stolen from, whereas a garden with a high rent could offer a guard or cameras to prevent theft when the gardeners are away.

    Thoughts?

TLDR; I want to be able to play with the farming mechanics without investing in an actual farm.

  13. Understandably, the land to actually farm will be highly-prized and priced.  So either the crops are fast/easy to grow or the harvest must be of sufficient value to make it worthwhile.  The effort and time to produce must balance or people wont grow that crop.

@Lord_Binky If Police suspect you of growing weed for the purposes of selling, I think they'd have to obtain a warrant first before entering your home. That'd give you enough time to either smoke, or sell your stash and get rid of the evidence!

They burst in to find a red-eyed Lord_Binky sprawled on the floor.  Binky looks at the policeman and says "You missed the party officer... Did you bring any munchies?"

So with a warrant the can gain access any home-instance?  If so that's pretty amazing:D
