Who cares, I think I can tell you. Everyone who has asked about console release. Secondly, why you posting lion if you don't care.

I believe he's posting this to make the point that a release to the console market will not affect the PC community / release in any way, so why should we care about it.

@MadMcardle i've tryed to be polite but hey! never be polite except you want a kid to offend you.

tell me, is there a release for consoles?

you're obviously 12 years or younger.

you KNOW that a console is not made to play with a keyboard (well, except you're a retard or a 7 years old that thinks trees can naturally fly). if you want to use a god damn keyboard you can just avoid consoles by using a pc.

and now stop being a dick without dick and go play the sims 1

I'm sorry, but are you feeling quite alright? Because your attitude and grammar aren't showing that.

To start, it would be much nicer to comment a clear debate with a coherent sentence that doesn't require a translation team to decipher. Maybe you could consider checking what you've typed before you post.

Secondly, I think you misunderstand what the topic is about, we are asking why it would be good for a console release to exist, not if it is possible for a console release to exist.

Thirdly, what do you have against people of the age or around the age of twelve? @LionKingGamer is twelve years of age, which I hope he doesn't mind me saying, and he's contributed two good points, which is more than you've contributed.

Fourthly, will you stop being so incredibly aggresive? You're the only one here who wants anything more than a nice debate about a console release, you have started insulting other people. @MadMcardle never said anything to remotely insult you, so stop trying to dick meaure yourself against other people and stop being so aggresive.

    Same thing, don't really matter.

Silencers don't exist. There is nothing you can fit on the end of a gun that makes it inaudible from under 200 meters away. Suppressors make the gun slightly quieter, but exist mainly to stop muzzle flash.

Have they said if they will make this game VR compatible? I think that would be awesome.

I can't find the tweet, but the devs said that VR compatibility will not be something available from launch but will definitely be something that will be looked into maybe a few months after release.

    Sorry to break topic.

To say people may not be ready due to the platform they play on seems a little harsh, and as long as your having fun then your playing it right, right? Lol.

Look at DayZ for example, some play it for RP in a huge way, some more relaxed and others as a purely PvP game.

But DayZ is not designed to be an RP game, it's only the community that makes it RP. I can guarantee you that when DayZ comes out on console, there will be very little if any RP servers.

It may be harsh, but it is true. This game is meant to be played by the community, and without the RP, there is no substance to the game atall. There has never been a game on console that incorporates this level of RP, and, stereotypically I must say, console players are much less likely to incorporate RP or follow rules as much as PC players.

  7. In my opinion, I think that consoles being consoles have nothing to do with the server count. As Madmcardle said, there have been games that easily supported 200+ players on a single server. I don't see why anyone would think that consoles couldn't handle a large player amount, as it's only really a server side issue. I think there are two main issues with a console port, and that would be a controller scheme and the community. The controller's for console I believe will not have nearly enough controls to control something as in depth as Identity. This would mean they would have to revamp the control system entirely to make it work on console. The other issue is interest. Asylum is only a small scale company and, to use an example; Squad, the company who makes Kerbal Space Program waited over 3 years before they even considered a console port. So if there was little interest for a console port, why waste money making one. I also think that Identity is a game that requires a microphone to play, and less than 20% of all console players own a microphone.

Also, it maybe the case that the console community isn't ready for a game that requires player interaction on an RP scale, and might not play the game as intended.

  8. I am uncertain this would ever occur in the main servers. Although it is possible a gang esc war may occur between two governmental parties. I doubt a civilian revolt would ever happen unless it was a server event, which could more than likely happen.

  9. Ask yourself this. Does this thread really belong in the Town square? Or should it belong in the Ideas and Suggestions for them to improve this.

Please, do not clutter the town square with posts that aren't remotely related. such as this one.

    Thank you.

Identity island size: 200 Square Kilometers

Altis map size: 270 Square Kilometers

Altis is a bit bigger than the Identity island but I don't think it is the right size comparison in the image.

Yes, Altis is 270km square. Yes, the are size is a rough approximation using relative area measurement tools for Photoshop, but the Altis map's area is calculated by area of surface, so the fact that there are giant ocean inlets blocked by the overlapping island may make it look innacurate, but it isn't too bad of a comparison. Please, if you have better measuring software of your own and you think you could make it more accurate, please do.

  11. I'm not sure if this has been done before, but here is a size comparison of the Identity island compared to Altis.

    BE AWARE:

This is highly inaccurate and only exists to show a rough area. The detail on the Identity island is not remotely finished and will not look like this atall in the released game, as you can probably tell, because the size of a house on the Identity map is about the same size as a small town on Altis. I am simply using the map as an area base for the actual size. Enjoy!

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Although the Identity map looks smaller, it will actually only have slightly less land surface area, because it will most likely not contain the giant bay in the center of the island that Altis contains. The Unnamed Island will be approximately bigger than Los Santos, and the same goes for Chernaurus (though they are still both dwarfed by Panau :3).

I actually think this is a perfect size for a map, as it is not too big as so that it is hard for players to interact, but it is not too small so that logistics road trips are not possible.

Most of the owners of the biggest company so far are just over 15, and the head of recruitment is only 14. So you're wrong.

When you say "The biggest company" are you referring to a corperation within Identity or something else?

  13. For those worried about identity using a sponsor or publisher like Electronic Arts. That is highly unrealistic. Identity will be released on it's own platform with it's own money and will very much likely not be using any sort of publisher. Even if they do, it will not be a triple A producer like Ubisoft or EA, that's impossible.

May I suggest maybe in some way we can implement like a kind of overwatch like csgo has for some things that would make it harder for people to break roleplay and discourage them? Just an idea.

What do you mean by overwatch? I'm not familiar with the system. If you are referring to a noclip camera that can be used by anyone to spectate, then this wouldn't work. It would be very easy to ghost and metagame by abusing it. If you are referring to a sky camera that admins can use to look at players in the world, then I agree.

  15. I haven't been disturbed in RP by any hackers atall, and I consider myself lucky, as quite alot of people I know have encountered them, and I can understand why it would be so immersion spoiling to encounter them. The devs do promise to include a good anti cheat system, which I hope will be thorough and strict.

Bad Roleplayers are, in my opinion, the biggest threat to Identity. The game relies on the community to make it what it is, and without a good community, the game is literally useless. I have to agree with Johnny here:

    5 hours ago, Johnny said:

The best way to do it would be a whitelist system

Also, keeping the game at a high price may filter out the unwanted guests. After all, trolls will not go as far as paying £30 to annoy people.

As for twelvies, I am unsure. I have met alot of people of the age of twelve or just above or just below that are nice people, but even though they are nice people, they are immature, and will not grasp or engage in the concept of the game properly. It's quite a difficult situation go deal with, because we don't want to be massively segregative, but we also don't want to ruin the RP experience, so, like Johnny said, a whitelist with a thorough test is in order. Maybe not for the official servers, but definately for the community hardcore RP servers.

  17. The devs confirmed this a while back but I can't find the tweet for whatever reason, maybe it has been deleted.

All vehicles will require fuel, and will consume it at different rates. The MPG (or KMPG) will vary depending on the vehicle type and its modifications. As to who will set gas prices I am uncertain, but it will be most likely the mayor, or the owner of the gas station.
