Something more official needs to be done for the multi-threading of similar topics to stop. No, people shouldn't have to use forum search to find nuggets of information here and there when it should be made readily available on-site or on a dev blog. It is on the developers' shoulders to provide this information, not a mod, and these threads would be drastically reduced if the developers would take a few minutes out to do their job (and yes, keeping a playerbase updated OFFICIALLY on the whys and hows and whens IS the job of the developer, even if they give a community manager the power to make official postings about it and no I don't mean answering questions in the myriad forum threads. I mean actual, bonafide updates)

Complaining at the OP does nothing, as this is primarily a developer issue at the core. I don't like the repeat topics either, but there's an easy way to control this that's not being taken. For whatever reason. If updates aren't going to be done, maybe a Discourse section of forums could be put into place to funnel these sorts of topics?

^ Finally someone gets it, cheers bru

  2. Yallz mad/disappointed/scared cause you've made all these elaborate political party's and business ideas, factions, and all the art and stuff that goes with it...and your worried that if the game does come out in the next 2 years it will have lost its player base and it'll all be for not

This. I have run many websites and forums before (many more active than this) and it is nearly impossible to "accidentally ban" someone. I hope Psisyn isn't buying that, or at least is somewhat skeptical.

There's no way he was accidentally banned. Someone did it on purpose and a developer with a higher ranking knew the backlash they would face, thus leading to an unban. These developers are going on vacation with your backing funds, put a pair of contacts in and get real with yourself.

My exact thoughts! They know who PSI is and what kinda creator he is, and thought "yahhh maybe we should unban him" (I mean no negativity against you PSI XD)

first there will be another tracker to track how far the tracker already is.
The tracker tracking the tracker that tracks the progress will take about 2 months tho so there will be a tracker who tracks the progress of the tackers tracking tracker.

and yes i confused myself with that.

    * NOTE THAT THIS IS A JOKE *

I had to concentrate so hard to make sure i didn't get lost in that rabbit hole LOL

I mean I agree with most things you say but I don't think your comment on people asking for refunds is very fair. It's not that they "threw money blind without thinking," it's that they chose to back a game which has failed to meet up to it's own deadlines (which none of us set), and has failed to deliver on really any promise. When they chose to back the game they had an expectation that the game would come out at some point and had trust on the devs. With not a single promise being delivered on, they no longer have trust in the development team and therefor no longer wish to back the product. As much as I am on the devs team, that is entirely their own fault and I am sure even the project leaders would agree that they have made these mistakes.

Let's take a real product. Imagine you are pitching a real product to an investor. You mention how you will have a working prototype, you give them milestones and deadlines for the release of your product, you have an amazing pitch and based on that the investor chooses to invest. If that investor later finds that none of your deadlines have been met, you are months behind schedule and while you had a great pitch, that is really the only thing you had and everything else was just false promises, they will likely chose to withdraw their investment.

This is what crowdfunding is. It is a two-way exchange. It's not just we throw money at someone and say "you do whatever you want and take however long you need", you are investing into a product for which you have expectations. If your expectations aren't met, you may no longer wish to invest. I feel that there is some confusion on here about all of this. I did not 'donate' to this games development. I invested in it. I am willing to accept the failed deadlines and allow the developers the time and space they need, however some people are not, and I don't think it's fair to say those people just randomly threw money at a product without thinking. There is blame on both sides here.

Been waiting for a comment like this for months and months, i like the way you think and 100% agree

If I remember correctly no one originally told them to make a video. The devs back in like October said a video would come before the year was out, it never came. Problems like these don't originate from the consumers, but the devs. I hope the PR team learn from their past mistakes and prevent these types of things, or at least be strong about not releasing something and sticking to it.

^ agreed, i love the devs but PR has always been an issue for them

Most people that I've seen complaining about the delays are people who are more upset about the fact that they keep making the same PR mistake over and over again instead of just working on it and not being pressured to answer a question they might not be able to fulfill. While it may be frustrating to see people complain and be impatient, it's not bad for developers to be put accountable for things they said. I know some may be trolls, but through them there are people who are generally concern about the devs making promises instead of just working on the projects and just releasing it when they can. I don't necessarily see people who are concern about the development as not being "true" supporters, they are just people who are excited to see the game to be completed and are upset with continuously being let on by the devs about promised and what they see as expected dates. Honestly posts like these are unnecessary because they just stir up the pot even more and cause even more people to be upset, let the people who have paid for the game be concern.

  11. If the game play footage is released by the end of this month (which is my understanding) then the devs will instill a tiny bit of hope back into me, then all they need to do is keep their word about social module pre-alpha release in march (if i remember correctly)

this is what's going to turn this game into vaporware.

See, i always wondered if there was a specific word for that...and after looking it up, it turns out there is LOL thank you sir! but i couldnt agree more

They keep saying this is only an estimated release date they think it might be ready by, and if it isn't I hope everyone refunds. They still haven't given us n ee gameplay, sure they have design streams and some concept art but for a release date 4 months from now it's not good enough

Yeah my ONLY optimistic thought is that they are doing it for a "Surprise" effect...which IMO is kind of a risky move though

Well to be frank, the devs said they were "polishing up" the last bit of gameplay and buildings in Town Square back in July of last year, I know sometimes it might not be that close, but they made it sound like they were almost completely done with it and would be ready by Q1 2017.

^ i brought this up before and was told very aggressively several times that i was basically "Wrongly paraphrasing"

So the Devs shouldn't shouldn't listen to anyone that quotes them because in your opinion anyone that attempts accountability is wrong and should be shamed.

thats what i was thinking, i mean your not rushing them by keeping them to their words
