It seems the political landscape has changed drastically in my absence. Not too many of us around anymore. I guess it’s time to come back.

I think a lot of the would have been candidates have decided it's not worth the effort.

Regardless I still support you and see you as the best suited individual for the position.

This is my first post on here. Problem is people are salty because of what has been going on with this game or vaporware or whatever it is. I'm going through this right now with Camelot Unchained. Over 3 years backing and delay after delay.

The problem is the development team here isn't doing ANYTHING to calm it down with transparency. Everyday we come on here and it's the same bullshit and people just get more and more angry. Funny thing is there isn't anything really to do in Town Square honestly. You will run around for 2 hours then be bored and all of this will start all over again until the next module comes out in 2025.

So people just start picking at each other. The worst offenders that tick people off the most are the white knights. This is just my opinion, to be honest I'm over this and glad I never put any money down.

No the ones that tick us off the most are the ones who come on here day in day out week after week moaning and whining about the same things in 1000 different topics.

I'm on these forums everyday and I can assure you there's hardly any white knighting.

On the other hand there's nothing but constant whinging and whining and moaning and insulting from people who want the game now and on the spot.

They already stated that you can buy these things with in game money. The stuff on the shop is for those who don't want to work their way up to buying a new apartment when they get started.

Pretty sure devs have stated before that everything you can buy on the shop you can buy In-game.

The whole point of all of these is they don't give you an advantage over anyone else. Why should I care if someone buys a penthouse? Or a good looking sports car?

Yeah my point exactly. There's nothing wrong with the devs trying to get a little extra funding by selling ingame items separately or in packages earlier before release.

  4. I can see both sides of the argument.

End of the day we need to be patient and let the devs do their thing. Constantly asking for a progress report is only going to delay them because they're spending already valuable time working hard and going back and forth releasing a blog with little to no information is only going to slow the process.

We're all on the same side and we need to let them work.

  6. With all due respect, people need to pop the vein back in.

We get It, every week and every day there's something new to complain about 100 times and despite being given honest and truthful answers by lucky and the others people choose to find errors in the detail.

You can't keep complaining and getting on the devs back and then whining about why nothing gets done if they're having to keep stepping in and answering people on the forums.

If you ask a question and receive a fair and honest answer then accept that and move on.

You all have the right to complain and voice your concerns but you do not however have the right to keep hassling the devs and mods and acting in the way people have been. It's one thing to debate and discuss, it's another to demand answers and then treat it like it means nothing.

In short, be respectful and appreciate that the devs are trying and working as hard as they can and appreciate that the mods are being as honest and truthful as possible and they can't speed the process up.

    Hello Preston_bodhi_343,

Some users have been experiencing an issue where the shop page doesn't recognize their previously owned package, specifically the Up-Sized and The VIP. The items from within those packages should still be appended to your account, however. You should be able to see an "Items" tab on http://www.identityrpg.com/account/view/profile to verify what you own.

The issue lies in the fact that items were added to both those packages, so you might have seen the shop try to sell you The VIP for a discounted price. If this is the case, then what's happening is that the system is just trying to sell you the new items that were added to The VIP when in reality they should've been appended to your profile already. Our web developer has been notified of the issue and has been working to rectify such an oddity. If you're still encountering problems with The VIP, feel free to send me a printscreen or explanation of what's occurring and I'll be sure to forward it to the web developer so he can view your case specifically.

    Thanks for the response beach_ball.

I realised after I made this post that the items I pledged for are in fact still on my account and therefore concluded that the shop must have an issue which I sent you a message regarding, the fact it's been acknowledged means I can sit back and relax about it.

    Thanks for the speedy response.

I just don't understand how weve been on 1 task in testing for 2 months?

Simple it's called game development, it isn't easy and it isn't fast.

For all those saying it's a scam I can assure you devs wouldn't spend 3-4 years going to this effort if they were trying to get money and dash, it wouldn't be worth it and you don't need a degree in being a genius to figure that out.

Why is it so hard to understand that these devs aren't experts in this genre of gaming development? Or that a game this large takes an incredible amount of time, effort and resources? Bearing in mind most of them have lives outside of identity and separate jobs which means they have to plan all their time ahead.

We know it isn't a scam and people need to take a step back and accept that the devs may have "faults" if you will, but end of the day they're trying as hard as they can and if that means they don't always keep a constant update then so be it.

The new website should be enough to confirm this is genuine of all things.

Personally I don't care about a new website, they should just be concentrating on getting the Town Square module released...

I mean it's funny because a month ago and longer people were constantly moaning about the delay of the website and now that it's here most people don't seem to be too bothered about it.

  10. I've just checked the store and I happened to come across all the current pledges, I pledged 500 dollars to get the VIP package and according to the store I don't own it. Instead it says add to cart yet the store recognises I own the citizen and founders pack.

Is there an issue going on and if so how soon will it be fixed because I paid for a pledge and I'd rather not lose it.

  11. Everyone needs to remember that without an office with sufficient space to house all the dev team members the dev team will find it hard to work. They clearly must have private funding/ backing otherwise by now they wouldn't be where they are and I certainly don't mind whether they tell us who's backing them privately or not.

In business and development you got to speculate to accumulate i.e spend money to make money and if that means buying an office to help get the process going then go for it.

Also the devs don't do this as a full time job, they have jobs outside of developing identity that's how indie developers usually work to my mind. So give them some slack.

  12. Truth be told we can sit here and keep going over this but what's it going to do? All that'll happen is lucky and others will keep explaining to people what the current situation is and people will either listen or won't. My advice would be do other things until another major announcement from paratus comes in.

At this point we're running around in circles.

This game is dead in the ditch before it could even release a single module. One that they said would be out in March. This is just piss poor management and I have no faith or interest in this game anymore. The gameplay doesn’t even look that good to be lied to by the developers. Hype train has officially left the station and isn’t coming back

There wasn't a predicted release date after March, this is what's wrong with the community people just making out random predictions and then whining when it doesn't come out. The module will release when it does and if that isn't until September or whenever so be it.

People need to learn to chill and stop making up predictions.

  14. What I genuinely want to know is why having sex in a game for mature adults is such a bad thing. Even If the game is for people 16+ I don't understand why it's so controversial. What is so bad about having sex in a game? It's based on real life, nobody's going to die from seeing sexual content in a life simulator. At least consider it in the future way after post release.

We are still here because they use words like "soon" and "imminent" several months in advance, also the tracker is no where near transparent with us, it's quite useless. We can all tell the drive and moral is very low right now. People have the right to complain about this, some people invested some good money.

I know people have invested good money Into this game, I'm one of those people who invested the full 500 top tier and why you might ask? I have full confidence this game will release and will be a success, I understand that development takes a lot of time and effort as well as money and that things don't get done overnight, I understand that delays happen and things go wrong and that the devs need to spend more time working on the game instead of advertising and talking about it.

This is 100% exactly how I feel, I have thought long and hard about the same thing happening. This is the best description of what could and most likely will happen. There will be so many other Great games out by the time this rolls around, no one will care at all. I don't feel your post negative at all, it's real.  The way I look at it, ok, we paid the 30, ?? amount of money to get this off the ground  people are going to hang around in the TS module for a little while, get bored, move on to other things, and then the Devs after yet another year, will drop the 2nd or maybe 3rd Module and the base will be playing great games, no one will ever even remember, Identity. I have seen it happen, too many times.

And yet here you still are. So many times I've seen people complain and be adamant the game is never coming out yet you're still here. If you don't believe in any way the game will succeed then go and get your refund.

People keep saying the Town Square is "the base of everything and everything after that will go faster" and that is false. It is not the base for all of the gameplay systems. It is nothing more than a tiny social module with character customization, apartment decorating, and some limited interactivity with the environment. That is all it is. It is not the base for every system in the game, nor is it going to be the most complex part of the game.

They said it would be out in 2017. It wasn't and still isn't. "Estimated" or not, they still missed it by a longshot. Other games get shit for this, Identity shouldn't be an exception.

The other modules will be more complex, they are the ones with the bulk of the gameplay systems as well as the advanced physics they'll need to simulate semi-realistic vehicle and ballistic behavior.

How would releasing smaller, more frequent modules change anything? You'd still know what's in the updates and what you can or can't do, just like with the current modules. Not having certain things implemented is normal for a game in development, and isn't going to be any different than the modules. The Town Square is missing almost all of the planned functionality for the game.

Your whole thing about Star Citizen is honestly irrelevant. The cost of their items means fuck all to how they're developing the game and performance has improved dramatically with both 3.1 and 3.2 (I have about 300 hours in the game, my framerates have more than doubled since 3.0 released at the end of last year to the point where in averaging basically 60fps at max settings on a 970). The quarterly updates have done wonders for the morale of the community as well. Since they've started, and met their release goals, almost all of the topics on their forums like the one we're currently commenting in are gone. They're no longer releasing an update every year, they're releasing them every 2-3 weeks on average now with a large update every three months.

All I'm reading is the same thing everyone else complains about. If nobody has anything relevant or constructive to say then people need to just stop posting, it's boring as hell seeing the same shit every day either people complaining about the game or people complaining about people who complain about the game, judging by what people like you say it's pretty evident this isn't just voicing concern about the game, you're just full on whinging about everything and expecting it to be done now. Said it once before and I'll say it again, if people are this bothered about the progress of development then either put up with it or get a refund but then you'll just say some ususal crap of well I want the game to succeed yadda yadda yadda. Instead of people whining every week just let the damn devs get on with it sheesh

You know what? Im actually fed up with coming here now even to the point that I cant even be bothered to actually care if it comes out or not. There are a few genuine people that make good posts but it seems the majority are just moaners who in essence shouldnt really have pledged or childish two year olds who just like to stir sh*t up for kicks.

Don't lose faith over a few naysayers. Every week we get the same s**t, some whiny ass mofo whining for the sake of it and people trying to give the game and devs a bad name when they don't deserve it. Forum needs to be regulated more often and posts where people are just spouting nonsense to complain should just be removed. This is unreal how many people are doing this and we're all fed up with it.

  19. I understand a lot of people compare this to GTA but I'll be glad to have my apartment look unique instead of everyone having the same interior. ( Except for like one apartment in GTA which most people don't have and barely counts as being customizable. )
