The developers had already stated that the first module would be just a social module and that it would be quite small. Everything they promised for the first module has been implemented, they even added more things than promised so people would enjoy themselves a bit more in game.

It's a shame most people either forget that the devs stated town square was going to be small or are just too young to understand that game development is a long and arduous but rewarding process.

I, like you and everyone else just ignores these scam card callers but a point needs to be made.

Your opinion. It hasn't failed yet.

And I would hope 95% of this community would belive it won't.

You guys have done so much for us by keeping us in the loop and the dev team has done so much more by not only bringing this dream to us but also by going above and beyond to ensure that feedback is listened to and things are added in earlier to stop boredom.

Seriously guys, thank you all so much.

The elevator bug is resolved in our internal build, and will make it into the next patch which will be quite soon. There are significant graphical overhauls and more stuff, too.

The elevator bug you're referring to is not an old bug at all, but came into being quite recently when we changed our VoIP backend system for better voice clarity. The bug was related to the switching of voice "channels" between your apartment and the outside world.

Thank you John, always helpful and quick to provide clarification as to what the problem is.

  4. Ah well the community still hasn't learned I see?

Seems a lot of people still don't understand how kickstarted projects work or how alphas work or how betas and modules work etc.

People pledged to this knowing it wouldn't be much until beta and despite the fact the devs have actually added more than they intended people still continue to act entitled and like they've been scammed.

You lot didn't learn before and you still haven't learned now, the devs are working hard and you will get your full product one day when they get there. Jeez it's like the last few years never happened and the prokecewas just announced.

  5. Jesus the detail on this is outstanding. And my God that bedroom/ apartment looks so damn classy.

Honestly man have to say when I eventually get to play identity I'm going to look forward to this a lot.

Is there a specific thread where people post their apartment designs for players such as me to drool over 😂😂

Your systems falls well below an other CPU in comparison to nowadays. It's WELL below an i5 and even below some i3 systems. Using that minimum requirements lab to determine if your system can handle a game isn't that accurate without actually going in game and trying to run it. You may be able to start it, but playing it for a period of time is different.

Your Radeon R4 tells me you're probably on a laptop in which case you will more than likely need to upgrade.

I have 16GB of RAM, the memory leak takes 7.4GB then climbs to ~8.3GB, your 4GB won't be enough to handle a memory leak like that, people with 8GB are having issues with running the Module.

Well I can only thank everyone for their input and apologise for getting hot headed but I didn't realise it wasn't a straightforward as if you meet minimum requirements for a game then you're sorted. My laptop isn't actually that old and was only purchase about a year and a half to two years ago but it isn't a gaming laptop and of course can only handle small scale games

There is a memory leak that's top priority on being fixed. It drains your RAM. 4GB is not a lot, and I'm surprised your PC hasn't brunt up playing GTA V. I would upgrade but that is a huge possibility why you aren't getting further then the title screen pretty much.

I am eventually looking at getting a high end gaming rig but it'll cost me about 1.3k.

As for gta I don't actually have it but I used system requirements lab to tell me if I can run GTA and Arma III on minimum requirements and I can. Once the memory leak is fixed that might be enough but if not then I'll just happily wait until I get a way better setup, thanks for the all the help anyway people.

Can you post your hardware specs? (CPU, GPU, RAM)

I'm unsure if it could be related to hardware, and how the module isn't optimized, but I am aware of memory leak issues. Unsure if it could be the cause of the UI not showing up. You may want to try a couple of times. I didn't get any major issues when I ran the game yesterday.

CPU is AMD A6-7310 with AMD Radeon r4 graphics card

    RAM is 4gb

Edit: I can run GTA V and Arma III on minimum requirements if that helps

Instead, go to Steamapps -- Common - Town Square - And delete the whole folder.
Then Open Steam, make sure its not in your library, if so, right click, uninstall, and reinstall
ONLY IF you want to go through reinstalling it again.
It's hard to pin point isolated issues like this one. I know of maybe one other person with this issue, and not even sure if they've resolved it yet either.

If the method you've just described has even a slight chance of working I'll go through the reinstalling process again. If it doesn't work then I don't have any ideas and if the mods or devs don't tell me of any other methods or solutions then well bugger me. If it does work then thank you for your help

  10. Okay the town square has been out for two weeks and i still can't even get past the first screen.

I get to the character screen where my dude stands and nothing happens at all. No menu comes up, no option to make a character or to be able to play and login.

All I want to know is why the hell I can't get past a simple character creation screen and into the game like everyone else can, I've waited my fair share of time like everyone else and despite all of these problems supposedly being fixed it isn't. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled and I'm not doing that again.

Can someone please for the love of God just give me an answer and an estimation of when this will finally be fixed?

I apologise for being hot headed but it's two weeks and several things have been fixed so why hasn't this?

That was my point, u was keep saying that since april, now u have to be patient and wait for fix but suddenly that rule doesn't apply now?

Again read my previous statement. I have no issue with being patient my issue is that the aforementioned problem was supposedly fixed but clearly hasn't been and I'm wanting to know if said problem likely be fixed anytime soon.

Yes I've been saying since April everyone needs to be patient and that applies to myself and in this case it still very much does apply to me. Just because I'm ticked off doesn't mean I'm impatient and it certainly doesn't mean I'm trying to preach something without it applying to me.

I just want to experience town square for even just a few hours to see what it's like and after that I could happily wait another 2 years before it's somewhere good. I backed this project with full knowledge of what could happen and at the very least I'm entitled to experience it for a while.

  12. 16 hours ago, wiebley said:

What are u even trying to play?

There is literally no content in there yet. Just wait another year and try again, it will be a much better experience.

I backed the project a few years ago and now that it's out I'd like to at least explore the town square, go do apartment stuff and have some fun and meet some people and then just wait it out while the game is updated. The town square was never meant to be a massive content filled module but I want to experience just something before things get added in.

    16 hours ago, Masa said:

"patience" as u like to say, "patience seems to disappear altogether"

I have Patience and it hasn't diminished.

My beef if you will is that the problem has supposedly been fixed in the first hotfix but yet I can't even log into the game while more or less most of the community can.

I just want answers as to why the game still won't work and if there's any sort of fix coming anytime soon.

  13. Nevermind that when the hell is the UI going to get fixed? Everytime I boot up identity it's always the same. The game gets to the screen where my character is standing and that's all that happens. No menus no option to make a character no option to play etc. Nevermind apartments when the hell are people like me going to actually be able to play?

I get that it's a social module and it's pre-alpha and everything is to be expected and that's okay but it's pretty damn BS that people can play while I can't despite having a laptop that meets the requirements of town square because it never loads despite reinstalling at least once.

Seriously why is it that despite several updates and hotfixes I still can't even just play?

This isn't a rant or criticism or even a go at the devs I'm just pissed off that I can't even play the module while everyone else can.

I click start on steam, then I get a message about what the town module is. Then I click "Got it! Let´s go." And after that it only loads and nothing happens. What can I do??

    Same issue for me.

My character just stands there in the room and nothing happens, can't make new character or play the game. This needs to be fixed urgently.

Hey guys! Just wondering if any of you have any hotfix suggestions or just in general suggestions for Identity say them here! Drop a like if you guys still love the game and or just feel like dropping a like!

Personally, I think they should try to hire a few more programmers and maybe one more art designer. This game is visually pleasing.

What's your experience so far? I can run the game and get to character creation but never been able to get past it

  16. What needs to be understood is that this is like making a plan.

You can make all the plans in the world, account for as many possibilities as possible and ensure everything is what it should be. But you can't expect an unexpected problem. Nobody and not even the devs knew this would happen because if they did they would have made allowances for more time. Everyone who is hating on the devs need to realise that this is still in alpha stage and is nowhere near full release, sure people keep on using the same old but they've had four years argument and yes they have but a small team with an even smaller budget and an even bigger idea means a very very long waiting period. If anybody expected launch to go off without a hitch I have to say that's some special kind of naivety right there.

A game like this can't be made by beginners. Perhaps they thought UE4 would do the job but the true is that when it starts to scale up, it gets harder and harder. And at that moment, you need someone with experience, someone who have already created a videogame on that system. Not even mentioning a guy who specifically takes care of networking code.

Here are my suggestions, of course it's an opinion:

    1) You did a great KS campaign. Somehow, you demostrated us how passionate you are about this project. Nonetheless, the team hasn't the skills for making it. Why not merging with a gaming studio?

    2) Go and learn UE4 from scratch. Or go to college and study CS. Maybe you guys skipped lots of important concepts and tried to start a game without programming experience.

    3) Shut this down and wait until Arma 4 comes out or work on designing a roleplay server on GTA V.

Personally, I would go with (3). Of course, you can decide to stay with the main plan:

    4) The game is unfinished, but magically someday it will be the game we all want. So "stop with the negative comments". O.o

I wonder if Steam can remove this game from the list...

Devs will never merge with another company and rightly so.

Merging with another company means other people having ideas the asylum team don't agree with and therefore leads to conflict. This is why they've said they won't go with publishers because they could end up making demands the team wouldn't feel comfortable with.

  18. All I'm saying is this. Y'all wanna go and get refunds then go and close the door on your way out.

The devs honoured their promise and eventually released the game but you can't expect people to see unexpected problems in advanced. Yes I'd have loved to play day one but you know what? I've been waiting 2 years at least so more time waiting ain't a problem to me. There's too many people that want instant gratification and have everything here and now.

You all knew full well this wasn't anywhere near the final product and that it was an alpha module designed to show pieces of identity and what we can expect in the future so don't sit here god damn complaining about issues in an alpha module for a game that's not even near beta.

I would agree with you, but people paid for a product, The devs do not do this out of the kindness of their hearts or for charity, this is all for monetary gain. People invested in the product and had expectations, and they were not met... They have the right to be mad.

No we didn't we pledged towards a project so Learn the difference before making false statements.

Was looking at my items and i started wondering if i needed another garage :3

What you probably could do is just have a car in the garage and the dirtbike outside housing, either that or buy the two garage separately.

So i have both a car and a dirt bike but only one garage with space for one car. Where do i store my dirt bike when my garage is full cause of my car?

Not sure why you're worrying about it at this stage considering you won't have access to vehicles until module 3
