  1. Hi guys!

Some of you OGs may remember me, but for those who don't; I'm DoctorFosterGloster from NZ! I've been following the game since FrankieOnPC's video back in 2015, and remember when this new forum was created!

In game, i'll be running some form of shop (I originally was going to start a shop called Modsmouth/ as seen in my sig).

Haven't pledged yet bc i'm a poor student lol, but one day...

    So hiya again guys!

We've had a lot of development progress and are right on the verge of Town Square release. There will be a new Insider very soon as well as a dev blog to catch you up in a few days. Check out the Dev Blog section on the forum here for a recap on those. :)

On the video front, there are these.

The task tracker, found on the Town Square module page on this website, also shows progress for Town Square release. There's not much need in monitoring it anymore since there's only one task in its final stage, though. When that completes you'll see Identity's Town Square module on Steam.

Hey awesome man! Good to see how much the game has progressed!

I think I'll resume lurking these forums again -- Hype!

  3. Well essentially there won't be any 'background music', however there will be radio music and radio talk shows (I hope so atleast). These will play a handfull of songs created by the playerbase.

I also hope that they'll be able to have real-life songs in game -- I don't want to listen to XX_LAYLAYLAY_XX scream out of my speakers 24/7

  4. So, as with any online game many people will end up being killed in one way or another. But what happens to these dead bodies when their soul is forced out by bullet or falcon punch?

Well, the suggestion is simple. Players will play as undertakers and drive around in hearses collecting these dead bodies. This will mean bodies do not just de-spawn in game. These dead bodies, for potential RP purposes, could have a funeral held in their honour.

This option will add RP value and realism to the game of Identity.

With this option it is also possible for players to collect bodies and add them to their collection - as you do.

  5. Shamelessly taken off the Nationstates forums

No we're not planning on getting married, we are just going to create a projected future of the Earth

The aim of the game is that in each new post you create an event for that posts year

    Rules:
    One year per post
    Don't skip years
Be semi-realistic - don't start getting futuristic technologies too early in the topic (i.e. no massive space colonies in the year 2019)
Take into account the previous poss. A past post may make your post redundant (i.e if the sun explodes in 2019 don't go posting about the discovery of dinosaurs in 2026)
Big events (wars etc) can last multiple years, but don't let them last too long

    I'll go
    2018:
Donald Trump is a victim of a failed assassination attempt. Naturally, he blames Mexico and gains more funding to finally start building his wall

    (you go next with 2019)

  6. Townsquare will be far too small do do much driving, and like the rest have said it'll be solely for player interaction and testing the game. Racing module will be the first you'll be able to try driving out

  7. I've said it before and I'll say it again PLEASE can we have annual/ special events which have carnivals and things show up. A haunted carnival would be awesome for Halloween, and then something else could also be done for the 4th of July. Other games implement new and fun things for April Fools and Halloween events, so it's certainly possible to do, though it would take time it would be a fun and unique experience for players.

  8. Busses are confirmed for identity. There will be two variants; urban busses and coaches (between cities) both will be 100% owned and operated by the players. I have also heard of taxis being implemented into the game, as well as naval ferries.

  9. ... Also I'm not sure if players can actually rent/ lease buildings to others. They might implement a rental system, but that may be paying the server in-game money to tenant a space. Otherwise you would just have to buy the building upright

  10. I agree with what's said before, looks like someone's taken their town from Cities: Skylines and chucked it into a standalone game. For some reason this game looks a little bland, perhaps it's just the architecture - oceans of identical houses in the suburbs and rows of high rises with no real difference between buildings in the CBD - but to me the prospects of interesting game-play here seems minimal, in fact I get a Habo Hotel sort of vibe from it - nothing offensive or obscene and no violence or crimes. If they're wanting to make a Utopian society rpg then they've certainly succeeded.

As for it competing with Identity? Well, they say that whoever is first on the market owns the market right? Identity came known before this, so therefore it shouldn't face too much opposition from 'The Real Life'. Identity also seems to offer more than this other game, ie crimes, violence etc, which should attract more people to it. Identity has also gained publicity and grown a reliable community, for instance the well known youtuber FrankieOnPC made a video on IdentyRPG about 1 or 2 years ago and since then the community has grown immensely, meanwhile this is the first I (and probably many of you) have ever seen this game, and I doubt it has such a community like IdentityRPG does.

So in all, it shouldn't really be a threat for IdentityRPG, it would (as I imagine) be popular with very casual and younger gamers who look for an easy way to socialise and meet new people, sort of like Club Penguin

(Now I really must finish this geography paper that's due tomorrow...)

EDIT: regarding the trailer, they could've possibly used better music and camera shots to display their game. What's in this trailer does portray it as somewhat bland, but we will have to see just how it turns out in the end.

  11. I fear that there will be a large amount of criminals and cops while the business professions stays small - leading to a massive gang war and no legitimate economic activity. Luckily it looks like the opposite with this poll.

  12. Limit: Because the Power Granting God studied economics at uni, you can only ever create a total of 53 cents to avoid inflation

Power: You can teleport to anywhere on the planet
