  1. As we know political gameplay is going to be a big part of this game with careers in law and order, journalism and writing, gangs and crime, and government. I am curious to know where everyone aligns on the political spectrum, or if not at all. And more importantly, what we're going to be aligning our roleplay with. This should be an especially fun thread for those of us who plan to dabble in the political part of the game.

I know that political discussions can get heated, so maybe save debating for another thread, the main purpose of this thread is to gather some fun and potentially useful information, and to have a good discussion and share stuff about ourselves with each other. Sorry if I forgot anything, I have done my best, feel free to expand in the posts of the thread! :D

For the record, I will be voting (classical liberal, libertarian left, and centrist).

  2. To play the devil's advocate, it isn't like the Devs haven't given people a lot to worry about and haven't warranted mistrust. I feel like most people will come around; including myself when I see people playing TS and seeing what they deliver. I still hope for the best for the game and the team behind it, however. I've just seen super ambitious games fail, and devs behind those games lie too much to not be a little suspicious.

  3. This is a public work, and as it is especially being backed by the public, is game for criticization. I am sure the developers are fine with being criticized if they are serious about their work. They should know that the critics are A. Wrong, and will be proven wrong in due time. or B. Have a point and they should take some of the criticism on board and do better. Also, the people who are criticizing Identity and the development(or lack of, depending on who you ask) of the game aren't doing so without reason. To pass it all off as bullying is nieve and misguided.

  4. As much as I dislike pessimism, this sort of mindset isn't helped by the Devs being in hiding. They've been working on a UI problem for ages now, it's the last module, the prices go up and no one knows what's happening with the game. If people were about to see or do something tangible to do with the game, like actually try this module that has been coming out for a long time, then people would probably be a lot more comfortable waiting.

I did question family building, Are there going to be KIds in the game? Babies? If so, How do they come about? I might have missed any explanation on if couples will be able to start families, Life simulator doesn't seem Life like without a certain amount of Family Growth. Just wondering.

That's a good question, I can't imagine it being in the game, or how it would work, but they could be NPC's etc, maybe you can make a thread and ask this, would be cool to see the Devs answer.

Let's not forget about GTA V either. With it's Strip Club, sex with prostitutes, and even fully nude colonists (Both male and female).
    Which also exists on consoles.

In other terms... Where there is a will, there is a way.
I highly doubt there's going to be any "sex" mechanics in the game. But really, you don't need that.
You can always just roleplay it. I bet there's gonna be private servers just for that stuff.

You have a good point with GTA. I probably got some things wrong or have an outdated view on the rules of releasing on consoles. And I'm sure there will be private servers for that sort of roleplay. Not to mention the distant plan of mod support, god knows what people will cook up, just look at the very explicit Sims 4 Mod 'WickedWhims', the imaginations of slightly perverted nerds is endless. One of the wonderful marvels of this universe.

    Hello!

I'm curious about finding out where everyone is from!

As I am from Sweden myself, I'm considering starting a Private Server for Swedes! And I'm curious about finding out where everyone else is from!

I couldn't include all the European countries, so if you selected "Other", please feel free to comment down below letting me know! :D

    Kind regards,

    Alphoni

Watch out for all the refugees invading your server :o

  8. I appreciate your optimism, it is quite refreshing. However, I can understand the other side. Yes, you shouldn't complain, and whine, and pester developers of any game to hurry it along. But most of these people are investors, not just fans. And they deserve to know exactly how the project is going, they have stakes in it after all. But, I also believe that once you give someone money, it is out of your hand and you already made the decision, now it is time to wait and see what comes of it.
I think it would help if there wasn't so much radio silence from the devs and mods most of the time. I don't think a forum for an up-and-coming game, especially one that is as ambitious as this, should ever feel like a ghost town. There should always be something to talk about.

I think the next few weeks will be a crucial time for Identity. I sincerely hope they can deliver :)

Do u mean nudity or sex? cause what i know that The Witcher 3 contains a lot of sex scenes and nudity and it's on ps4!

    i think it's on xbox 1 too.

You could be right, I guess it's explicit sex, so nudity would probably have to be limited to breasts if your game isn't going to be considered porn. I'm not sure of the exact rules. I'd have to check back up on it, but I see your point with the Witcher.

The age limit for videogames is only a recommendation.

You clearly don't live in Australia, you'd think you're trying to buy cigarettes trying to buy an MA or R rated game here as a young teen. I remember when I tried to buy one of the an MA+ game, I think it was when I was like 16 and I had to get my mother to buy it -.-' And that was from EB, our equiv of GameStop.

Fail to see why people are complaining. Steam verification process is nothing compared to how long we've all waited. We don't need negative posts every week.

If the Devs were concerned about negative posts every week, they could make a postive one or two a week, instead of radio silence all the time. Would it hurt to release more clips/screenshots/etc?

The reason they're not doing that is because, as Paratus said himself, that if they had included body shape/type (buff, skinny, fat etc.) they would of taken forever to create a single piece of clothing since that piece of clothing will have to be adjusted for each body type.

Regarding your questions, A: I'm not sure if it's confirmed but I did hear that they will include those kind of buffs when going to the gym and B: no, and the reason is the one I stated above.

    Hope I helped :)

Oh, it makes a lot more sense when I think of the clothes etc.

  13. This game seems to be promising to be an amazing roleplay experience, and a huge part of roleplay is character customization, and forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this part of the game has been fully explored. I am not saying I'll be disapointed if the customization was not in depth, I've played many a game, especially MMOs that have had a small amount of detail in their character customization and have been fantastic games. But the games that do have great character customization are unforgettable as well. So basically, what can we expect in the full game? Maybe some these for example?:

    • Many hairstyles, colours and lengths.
    • Many different facial and/or body hairstyles and features
    • A lot of different skin colours and features, scars, blemishes, etc.

    • The ability to have multi-coloured hair, highlights, tips etc.

    • A height slider

    • A weight slider and visible effects on the mass of the body

    • The ability to add muscle mass, fat and definition to the body of your character

    • A breast slider for the females (and even males for those who want it?)

    • The ability to change the size of individual body parts. So the legs or butt, for example, can be disproportionately larger than, say, the upper body.

    • Walking styles and mannerisms (i.e. the Sims 4), so you can have a posh walk and mannerisms, or tough guy, or lazy, etc.

    • Age slider that adds older looking skin, wrinkles, liver spots, so on

I think that is all the main stuff, but everyone else can feel free to add stuff that I have missed.

Thanks for any answers, especially from the mods and the devs, I'd just be super keen to know what to expect, I am also aware that everything at such an early stage in development is not set in stone and can definitely change. And I will also add that I am already super impressed with what I have seen so far! Even if not much more was added, it'd be a pretty good amount for an MMO. Anyway, that's my question!

Hey there, Gyms are in-fact in the game, but they however won't change your body size by full game release as it a bit out of the scope. However the developers want to add that potentially in the future after the full game release.

I wonder why this would be the case. Like I understand if the developers think it is a minor thing and don't want to include it in the original release of the full game. But it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibilities, they have done and said they're doing much more ambitious things. I can think of a few games that have the feature already. Sims 3 and 4 have the ability to lose weight, gain muscle and muscular definition. GTA 5 seems to have the ability to get more in-shape. I think the ability to do it is there, but they just need to decide whether it's worth the work and setback time or not I suppose.

I wonder, though, if they are not going to include the ability to change the body of your character through work at the gym and their diets, will they instead make it that either:
    A. You get buffs/special abilities from using the gym. I.e. More endurence so you can run longer or faster. Stronger so you can hit harder in a fight? Something like that?
    and
    B. If they will have a relatively in-depth body customization in the 'create-a-character' phase?

  15. Preface
I do not know if this is the right section of the forum to post specific gameplay related questions regarding jobs, currency and items. I also don't know whether these questions have been asked before, so sorry if I get any of that wrong.

    The questions
I know already that there will be a library in the Town Square and maybe some other locations and that you can submit your original writing to those libraries, but what I don't know is if you can be a writer as a career in the game. So the questions I have are:

Can you write books to sell? Can I write a book and publish it for people to buy and read in the game and make in-game currency from doing so?

Is there cover art; can I design it? We have seen the painting in the game, I am curious if I can design the covers of my books with a similar tool?

Do the books exist physically in the game? Will we be able to hold, transport, and store the books. Seeing them on surfaces or in bookshelves?

    And finally.

What are the career opportunities of a writer, in game? Will it just be to write stories for other players enjoyment? Is journalism a thing? Blogs?

Thanks in advance for any information!

  16. Just that. In light of the TS Module being delayed (again), and it apparently being so close to being finished. One would think that you would see some more gameplay videoes and screenshots coming from the devs to whet the appetite of those excited and to calm the nerves of those skeptical. It's just a weird choice not too release more in my opinion. Thoughts?

Unfortunately threads like this put doubts in people's minds, someone like me who has had full faith from day one now doesn't know where to stand because my mind is pondering on whether it is a scam. Deep down I believe this is genuine but the lack of communication from the devs doesn't help anyone and only makes it worse when the delays happen

I've come to understand that to believe the devs lately you need 'faith', and 'belief', gaming is a science, not a religion, this is why I haven't pledged. I'm not signing up for something that could be snake oil, which it is beginning to seem like it is.
