never. this isn't a free community. we all have to trust and obey. trust. obey. trust. obey.

I like how communities begin with equal amounts of respect. However after reading a lot of your posts they come off as somewhat trollish. While I still respect you as a member of this community, I am not sure that you show the same amount of respect to others. Suggesting that a player go play elsewhere is not the community that is intended. If it is, I am a part of the wrong community.

Hey Chillbilly and thank you for your kind words. I just thought by having an already prebuild house would minimize the lag issues. I am in no way looking for a "building game", but customizing is always something I will enjoy doing! But I see what you mean with instances, like the ones in GTA, right? I guess my suggestion is not a good one for this type of game! But maybe the devs will figure something out :) cheers!

All suggestions are good suggestions. Think of us as an affordable think tank. It's a great suggestion! Lag is the problem.

I think another good tip is, read all info on the current parties, and don't try to just go and start one if you are going to have a lot of the same views.

Has it been defined if the government was a democracy? Because if it isn't a democracy voting won't matter.

  4. Hey guys. Just sharing with you an example of what a local government could look like.

Now what we are looking at in the photo is a basic political structure backing the various public services. This is based at the local government level, better known as a town or city. The police and EMS / Fire, are not elected officials in this Org Chart, just examples for all intents and purposes. The department of transportation would be a local DOT, specifically charged with the task of overseeing transportation matters. It should fall under commerce.

Man, you sound like you have a lot of experience in these matters. How would one go about finding these humble people?

The great thing is, they find you. You can start a community, or be involved in one. Have an idea and start doing it. The people will come and work on it without you having asked them. Those are the humble people you will find.

You invited 300? Goddamn dude, what do you do outside of these forums? Do you run your own Arma 3 life server or something? Could you possibly give me an example of what you mean with the streamers?

Sure. Here are a few for you to look at. These streamers are what we in the Arma 3 community consider "Power Role Players." A long time friend Timmac, met him in Arma 3, been friends for years. www.twitch.tv/timmac. Another would be another long time friend I have met in role play, Ming Jingtai, otherwise known as MrBong011, his twitch is www.twitch.tv/MrBong011. There are several others that I cannot think of their twitch stream names, but just google Robert Walkins, Dougal McGuire, Liam Williams, Gee Famous, Joey Balsedepe.

As for me. I am Allen Camel. I know everyone, and everyone knows me. I am not a streamer, but I do YouTube. www.youtube.com/chillbillysauce. Take a look at my Arma 3 footage.

We take role play to the next level. There are some that are power role players and others that are not.

What? haha, you find the people who don't want to be in a position of power, and put them in a position of power? I am confused. I have never seriously roleplayed, so I don't know how to find people 'worthy' of a authoritative position.

Right. People will do the job without being recognized for having done the job. You have to find someone who is humble, works hard, documents and so on. Someone who is only after the title will do nothing but have the title and delay progress.

'The game itself needs to cater to that of streamers...'? Like what? And, like I said, I don't know what the Arma 3 population is like. How many Arma 3 people do you think you could get to become loyal to Identity?

Sorry I misspoke, I've since edited that to the servers of identity. Streamers must be given a certain amount of leeway and shorter advancement. I invited 300 to the forums yesterday. Many had no idea it existed. I was bombarded with IMs for about an hour.

The trick is; finding those few who are qualified and capable.

That's easy. You find the ones that don't want it, or don't want the title. When you encounter someone who wants the title, your experience turns to proverbial shit.

Honestly, I think that due to the demographic being 90% of Arma 3 life people, that new 10% (like myself) might actually help. Or maybe not, I don't know. Also, the devs that are working on Identity are making it a player driven market, meaning your systems might actually be easier to implement then what they were in Arma 3 Life. But I wouldn't really know as I have not played Life mod.

The problem with Arma 3 Players is that they are Arma 3 players. They will come in the game with expectations, and if their expectations are not met or fall short, they will complain until the cows come home. However, if their expectations are exceeded, they will be insanely loyal to whomever and whatever exceeds their expectations. I guess you could say this about any group of gamers, yet knowing we are dealing with a predominately Arma 3 community it's hard to say what their reaction to "actual" structure is going to be. They may find it limiting or they may find it comforting.

Many a community has tried to corral that of the Arma 3 Community. I am sure you have heard the expression "Hearts and Minds." If you control their hearts and minds, you control the population. The servers themselves need to cater to that of the streamers that support Arma 3 to succeed. It's an unfortunate thing, but it is what it is. The streamers determine the next popular server.

You sound very generous, you don't get that a lot around here.  You should finalize it, it could be extremely helpful, like you said.

It has been tested in Arma 3, I will have to wait until the Beta to test it in Identity. Perhaps then I can work on some other ideas I had. I will be posting a few other systems today throughout the forum. It's important to remember that all of these have been tested in Arma 3 life, 90% of our audience. However, they have not been tested in Identity, which could prove to be a challenge.

That is some impressive marketing skills you have. Why not create your own marketing advice company? Or a shares business? I was thinking of investing, and you have helped me greatly. Thank you for this guide :)

Sounds interesting. I enjoy making systems, rather I enjoy making systems that work and help players. I might look into finalizing this system on a server of my own, then perhaps sharing it with other servers. Ultimately anything I make is free to the community to use, however I cannot manage them all.

  13. Guys,

You are thinking too big. I love the idea of new and exciting opportunities for players, do not get me wrong. A centralized government needs to be small. If it expands too quickly it falls apart. I trust the developers of the game, but ultimately it is the servers that will maintain these governments. It is my fear that it will be over expanded and essentially do nothing. Once crimes, times, and laws have been created, it becomes an idle job. It isn't like police or the criminal justice system, that are ever changing with new policies and what not. The Government is great at the start, but only needs to be managed by few.

I am not saying to create a new contry i am saying to make a system where an "ambassodor" would have to manage the flow of none player produced objects. becouse 300 people is not enough to produce everything. If you got a better system please tell me

I'm confused. The ambassador produces product?

    @ChillBilly,

thats impressive if you do actually have 10 years irl experience. Do you plan on becoming a police officer? Or a paramedic!

I believe the community will make the 'codes' for others, so I agree that we shouldn't do it. But I know little about this topic...

I haven't really made any plans as of yet. I am actually deciding if I want to carry on as a lawyer as in previous characters or if I want to just space out from it all. I definitely do not want anything to do with the medical side of things. My years as a paramedic were shorted by a life altering event which made me lose a long term partner and friend. Not to mention inaccuracies in medical science kind of piss me off. If I were to do a public service it very well might be the police, or maybe even sanitation or a tow truck driver. Allen Camel Towing has a nice ring to it.

    Thanks for agreeing with me!

I read very little about families and since its a simulator will it also focus around that or is it more you pick a job and you just start getting active? There is no active NPC and everything is done by players so i don't think its possible to have a family in the game. So it is hard to play the game when all you see is adults running around? :(

I would love to see that there are smart NPC being family members so the city comes alive! Do you know there are lots of fans who are dying to see this from the sims series? So if no smart NPC then its a big lost because this game is rare simulator!

And also i don't see alot of ideas being talk about how families can be run and what they do? Will they be schools to go too for instant?

All the search i have done shows that families are more about gangs and crime. :( So if no emphasis is brought to make families like in real life then it would only be like game such as GTV 5 so the game will be all about fighting and bringing in the criminals.

I like to also add that there is Chronicles of elyria and they have built into their game families but its more low fantasy. So why should they be getting all the fans who love to play as families? Identity should also be about families too and making it so it just as important as crime.

Very worried that this game will become just a job simulator with hardly any believable virtual world, just a playground of crime. :( So please tell me this is not going to happen! Because there do not seem to be any interest in the community about wanting this? So what is the point to have a home? Customize character if it is all going to be alone? You can have players but its better with NPC because they will stay in role play and they can always be there when you want them to and follow orders and even sometimes disobey because of personality.

    http://chroniclesofelyria.gamepedia.com/Families#Children

Don't go play the sims as suggested. You are about to embark on a journey. I think, if you aren't already involved in hard core role play servers in Arma 3, you are going to be surprised. Not all families are "mafia types" You will see tons of families spring up, sons, fathers, mothers, daughters, brothers and sisters. You will forget that NPC families even held a place in your heart.
The friends you are going to gain are going to astound you.

It's not fair for anyone to tell you to go play something else, so don't listen to them, you are welcome here and I think you will be very surprised!
    Glad to have you!

I do agree, its a idea which has not been mentioned, but at the same time there will be people against it being rp'ed and some for it. Also he will probably have to find a few people/ friends he can rp that sort of thing otherwise its going to be boring for him. @ghost586

I've witnessed some incredible psychopathic role play in my 10 some odd years in Arma Role Play, and other role play games. I am sure he can figure out a way to have it just the way he wants it.

    Hey Developers!

I just found about about your game, and it sounds like a lot of fun! I was wondering if there is a any chance of having a house in the woods? And if so, can u customize it? Like, repainting, maybe get a pool, plant flowers etc etc. Thank you!

Hey WhiskeySalad, Welcome to the forums by the way, love your name. Kinda want some whiskey in my salad now.
Now for your suggestion, I would be afraid that painting houses and even placing houses would cause lag, do you have any suggestions that may combat that problem?
Also, you should check out the apartments as well. The houses, as far as I know will be available for purchase and for rent, and the apartments are instanced so pretty much everyone will have one. Motown is a talented developer I am more than confident he will come up with something we are all going to like.

    Awesome suggestion!

Hello, I offer you ideas: 1) how to become a rapper realties, to create their own group or to become a rock star. 2) Enchant Weapon. 3) Ability to travel across continents or islands. 4) Ability to create a virus or illness (as a computer virus) Let's character became a scientist and made a new virus. 4) The ability to join a secret organization realties (military or gang) 5) This idea is likely to be too fantastic but suddenly, the opportunity to make a cybernetic arm or leg it well, and so on. 6) add to the game a variety of sensitive buildings or bunkers. That is that these are my ideas, if something else come up with the write.

I think it's a great start OP, post more of your ideas!

Also criticism can be good, better to have it and improve upon it

His criticism is bashing a player for posting ideas. Then bashing me for defending his choice to play whatever his idea was. That's not good criticism.

it's not skyrim, it's not call of duty, it's not gta, it's identity. end of discussion. peoples like that will obviously be put into psychiatrys (most probably you too). now stop argueing.

I'm not arguing. I believe the game is called Identity. He and I can choose to play whatever we wish on a game. I would suggest you stop criticizing him for having other ideas. So what if I want to be a "psychiatrys" or a psychiatric, it's my character. I didn't intend on playing one, but now I think I will just to spite you.
