  1. I honestly embrace it, the world will feel fleshed out as a living breathing world if it sustained hundreds of people simultaneously, always a job to be had or a business to rely on! You will really feel enthralled in the depth of the community and the people that surround it, the stories they tell and the life you live aside it; No more ghost towns with the occasional pedestrian!

I imagine proper repercussions will be put into play, like "realistic" car/character damage if you decide to drive carelessly or having to pay the state a considerable fine (adjustable by current political figures) to retrieve your vehicle from the impound lot; Not to mention tickets or even jail time (w/ fines), atop that you'd have to pay to acquire your driver's license I can imagine. In the end, if a nice vehicle is truly a challenge within Identity, like owning and maintaining one in the real world, then people will probably learn to respect and put considerable care into such a precious possession keeping accidents (hopefully) to a minimum.

I am only really concerned about the crime rate which we can all agree will only be as bad as the Law Enforcement that surrounds it. We can only hope determined confident individuals will aspire to be great Officer's of the Law working to keep a balance and harmony among the people. I can only hope people actually put effort into maintaining character consistency and not doing something ridiculous, like rebelling against a perfectly fair system. - Take the time to establish yourself in a fairly realistic sense, what will YOUR story be?

  2. Nobody's perfect; Good - evil, they're two sides of the same coin. Hill, he doesn't open up much, hiding behind a broken shadow of a man. He see's the world in black and white, forgotten what it meant to feel joy. He searches for answers far and wide, a sign.. help - alas' he couldn't tell you what for.

There is no place for Hill. Hopes, dreams; Shattered, flickered away through the night. Hill tries to see a good in the world, anything to keep moving forward. A tired, strugglesom man he fails to hold a job, every day feeling different from the last.

He likes to be alone, at least he convinces himself he's better off that way. He's renown for his unhealthy obsessions, he's your every day conspiracy theorist. Holding a particular grudge against certain political figures, he feels they're all plotting against the true American values, freedom; and he will not stand for it.

Well, to be honest I expected this. Not the first time Asylum are excusing themselves. Let's hope the wait will be worth it.

Not the first time a game, show (Rick and Morty), or whatever's been delayed. Nevertheless, if they make it worth the wait I'll be more than happy to excuse their miscalculation.

Development is hard, otherwise all of us here who have the time to be complaining about it all day would probably be even looking to help the Identity team themselves; After all they're always open to new talent.

I hope community ran server's will have the option to configure things to work their way so we can have more of a "hardcore" style of game-play. Balance is key though and I imagine they'll get it right.

I feel like this may be a stretch, but at the same time, hear me out, because this GENERAL topic does in fact trigger my utmost interest as an upstart networking student and developer myself. Consider perhaps, PAYDAY 2, or PAYDAY and how their system works with marking cheaters with a spade and red name. So perhaps, apply that to a more complex scale. Players can have an inspect page with a general RP bio of known things about the character at first glance or easy to find information, all within their profile, as well as their amount of followers, kind of like a social media click. However, those players can be reviewed and or marked by others with a personal review that does not personally effect their ability to play. Such as the quality of their RP, marked under that page with a colored RP symbol, as well as combat, and job reviews from coworkers and supervisors of different kinds, gauging your teamwork and effort as a person, and your social interactions, similar to that of how profiles get a display of how good they are to play with with the XBOX account reviews.

Actually this gives me a great idea regarding the in-game "social media", I think it could easily be fitted whereas you can rate people and businesses on Identity's provided "social media". Whether it's being a food critic, business critic, or whatever. Ultimately it will all be a part of that communities world and help establish competing and "premium" businesses in the overall community rather than being compelled to buy from the first business that shot up out of nowhere proclaiming to be the "best" without any reliable references.

So you want to order some furniture but you're worried about that petty delivery time? Good news! Now you can find a business with good reviews in delivery!.. Uh, probably.

Personally I hope we can follow people on "social media" and be notified of their activity on "social media" I.E. a political figure.

Well I don't think that will be possible because you have to make a new character for every new private server you go on. e.g. no stats will be linked in private servers.

I like the idea, but what if the server has a bad rating because of trolls and things and then no one else joins because of that. Their rep is forever ruined if no one will join them.

    (Will add as I go).

It's a compelling case.. perhaps before you can rate a community you have to have an X amount of play time on that community; Most trolls probably won't stick around for a week before rating a community and by then you should have a fair opinion of the general role-play provided and enforced by that community.

Also, every user has an ID, so I imagine the ID can be "rated".. but again trolls. I personally support the idea of a server rating system over a player rating system, just thought I'd bring it up for discussion.

  7. Imagine the real world, the general functionality that is our society. Now imagine bringing that to a virtual world; IDENTITY. Of course though these individuals are sitting behind the comfort of their own computer screen.. there isn't necessarily any real fear for loss of life or assets or even time in prison; You can't always guarantee someone's not going to ruin your immersion or overall be a dumb ass and break obvious rules that don't make sense in any real world implications.

This is why I strongly believe a good balance in terms of the repercussions that come with certain ramifications that led to your inevitable per say crime or even death would require a sort of stat loss (something players care about) to improve the overall quality of role-play for that server and player; Perhaps certain server's will only accept player's with a certain rating.

Honestly, I envision a statistics system that logs a server's overall and player's individual average crime/business/kills/life-spans/faction-balance/wrecks/wealth/etc and general player initialized star rating to determine server's with an "excellent/fair/modest/poor" role-play rating via server list. This will help those whom are searching for a quality role-play community find one based on that communities provided statistics (quality) of that server and maybe that server will only accept you if you have a high enough rating in terms of overall quality; Like requiring a 2+ KDR to join certain clans in FPS games.

I think this would be a useful function.

  9. Honestly, with the amount of individuals that are going to be pursing a life of crime and the amount it costs to purchase a property like that.. your home (let's pretend people could break into) would be broken into every time you turned around. Ultimately, it wouldn't be worth it if that was the case unless only 1 person (or party) could break into your house per X amount of time.

In the real world, because crime comes with serious repercussions, people are stuck with a serious decision. Of course that's why most of today's criminals are lowlife dirt bag's who can't think more than a minute ahead. Otherwise maybe they'd consider what's actually coming and what they're actually risking when they do what they do.. or maybe they've got nothing to lose, don't care about themselves anymore, and generally have such a low self-esteem to as even worry about something like jail time; Some people are risk taker's, after all..

Of course though they're risking serious time, or worse.. death. This is why I personally support long jail times, sure people don't like it but that's the point! Jail sucks, get used to it; Regardless, you're not guilty if you don't get caught so put a little consideration into your next move. ;)

Over all let's consider a balancing act, a compromise; So when you begin to break into a house let's assume you have a lockpick (for a lock) or a crowbar (for a window), now let's say it takes 1 minute to successfully break into a home (based on your 'experience' (which I assume is a system they'll have).. A silent alarm (or evident one as configured by owner) could trigger notifying local law enforcement. Chances are, a patrol officer will happen to be nearby.. can ya guess what's next? Bad boy bad boy, whatchia gunna do... Yea, you get the picture. (I imagine the alarm will be purchasable so only people who actually have stuff they care about will have an alarm and you can only attempt to break into someone's house if an X amount of law enforcement are on to prevent abuse) - Ultimately if this were the system, I'd be happy to say I support the function to break into other people's homes.

  10. I imagine there will be no sex and I am can confidently say there won't be children.. unless per say someone were to "RP" as your son/daughter. Of course, people won't be able to model their character's to resemble a child so your son/daughter will generally be 18+. Of course in relation to "sex and having children" it wouldn't make sense for abortions to exist in this case.

Regarding marriage, of course marriage (straight, gay, or whatever) will be a thing in confines with role-play in general.

Now pet's I am not completely sure, I couldn't confidently guarantee it but I think at one point a Dev said they were "looking into it". Again, don't quote me on that; It's too early in development regardless to determine this yet.

Well it's been decided that the Government won't be based around any pre existing one. At least not from what I've read and seen. Technically it's up to the government on that server. But I'd like to think we make it the way we want it.

Like I said, the gang should go in and mold their character and stance in the environment that surrounds them. Grow, evolve, believe in, know and love your character. Don't just create a random crazy lunatic and run in guns blazing straight off of the literal highway to hell.. oh, and most importantly.. be consistent. Far too many people forget consistency.. one moment they're your friendly neighborhood farmer scrounging some bucks, the next a dangerous psychopathic lunatic mugging Charles the local bar keeper.. and often their excuse is they were "bored" and it's just a "game".. they forget, it's a role-play game.. people come here to role-play, not get bored and purge every few days.. =/

  12. So basically you're a gang revolting against the Government because you believe it's not in their right or their land to take, although technically the Government (if I am correct) will be American based making it a Government for the people, by the people? Let's say you somehow manage to "take over", what then? Would you then become a Government in a sense, ultimately turning into what you fought against? (imagine another gang like yours then coming in, the dilemma lol) Would you ultimately earn your riches thus becoming the rich leading you to look down on those whom do not believe in your cause, those who are not as rich and powerful?

Question, what makes you think it is in your right to "take back" the land? What makes you think it belongs to you? No offense, I just think that sounds like power gaming. What happens when another group comes in claiming it's actually their land? Or the house you just bought is their house because of whatever alibi they concocted?

A Government is structured to create order and fairness, you describe it as an evil unjust system of corruption and horrors unconceivable to the human consciousness; Ultimately though, a Government (or stance, for that matter) is only as good as the people who run it. I wouldn't join a community and revolt against a perfectly fair, justful, caring, and rightfully run Government just because you claim the land belongs to you, that everyone else is evil and the rich are condescending arrogant monsters.. the rich provide jobs for the poor.. and you can't deny having money comes with power and with power responsibility, it represents a person who stood against the system and against all odds climbed their way to the top; A person with skill, strength, intellect, persistence.. or maybe it was just given to them.

Just a thought, I would highly discourage aggression unless absolutely necessary.. like they say, know your enemy, don't just go based off of assumptions, mold your character in its given environment. Do you really need to hurt innocent officer's of the law or even innocent bystanders just trying to do their job, pay their bills, even feed their families? People have responsibilities, lives and other people and things to consider..

  13. Diseases that can be treated and cured would be sweet. What would be sweet also would be the ability for server Admin's to start their own epidemic and perhaps an established Disease Research Department could attempt to find a cure before everyone becomes infected.

  14. Love the voice acting man, would be interesting and probably unfruitful to run into someone like yourself. So long there aren't too many people going around causing mischief or people killing when they feel like it only because that's what they do (I feel like a lot of people will try to do that..) then it should work out great.

  15. I believe there will be radio station's that can be utilized by players to broadcast music, talk, or whatever. Regarding custom personal radio, perhaps you'll the capability to play your own music in your ride, radio, or cell.

  16. Abandoned building's would be very useful to those looking to lay low or otherwise unable to afford staying elsewhere. I support the idea of abandoned mine-shafts, cabins, and etc. Abandoned buildings in towns and cities though should be able to be rebuilt by the Mayor of said town or city, of course this would come at a price. This function however would be rather complex and may not be in the game on beta release, it would be an interesting expansion though.. a kind of political expansion pack. ;)

  17.  Regarding the farmers and other various southern folks, it's really up to the individuals that play the server you do whether they'll have those particular traits in their background story or not. There will be houses that only 1 person can own/rent at any given time with a number of people if they so choose living there, if you or someone you know owns one of them you or whomever could avail oneself to said property for whatever reason(s) you may have; It may also be possible to break into one of these homes, this does not however include apartments.

Based on what I have seen there will be quite a few physical home properties available for purchase (likely 50+), I imagine it would take a good while before an individual can afford their own physical property they could live with other people in; Also, perhaps there should be a tax that if left unpaid would put the house into foreclosure for someone else to acquire like in real life which would mean homes owned by inactive players would be foreclosed on and made available to be utilized by some other active person(s).

  18. I am personally interested in being a part of this project, I have plenty of ideas regarding rules and regulations and have a good bit of Management experience that may come in handy along the way; I have been managing modded Minecraft communities on and off for years now, the one I am currently running has been going for 11 months 6 days now.

Please note this is solely as an example to you and not for advertisement purposes (" http://webshockmc.com "), I want to take what I have learned  to possibly help your Identity server. I have expressed my passion for Identity and role-play ArmA life in the past, and some people from my community are interested in being part of a hardcore Identity server. I will be signing up soon, I hope this is still an enthusiastic project of yours. :)

    Kind Regards,
    Hill

I personally would have 1 week max jail time as it brings more role play and will cause people to think about their actions.

Hell, I'd play there. xD  Now that's hardcore.

Edit: Oh, so I see you have plans for an Identity server. I'm intrigued.
