  1. We're all obviously here because we are looking forward to Identity, but I think there are a few things that could potentially hurt the final game. Here they are:

    - Bad roleplayers: people who aren't playing Identity to roleplay and live out realistic arcs, but instead just want to have a super powerful character with no real story arc and no flaws, basically a superhero. also people who name their characters ridiculous things that just aren't names.

    - Twelvies: twelvies tend to ruin most games they find their way onto, and we can only hope they don't find their way onto Identity. they are not only 95% of the time terrible roleplayers who would be better fitted to GTA V, but also they ruin the immersion and have very little maturity.

    - Hackers / Trolls: both of these can be dealt with easily, with staff intervention, but if there aren't any measures in place to deal with them I can see them becoming issues.

Anyone else have any worries? Maybe staff can answer our worries?

    Thanks.

no more darkrp for me since my nazi rp experience xD

Well our server is set in 1955, so as long as you RP it realistically I'm sure you could play a neo-nazi who maybe escaped from Germany after the war. And we also have a gas chamber in the map, though it is only accessible to the Governor and used in executions of criminals.

  3. Not quite sure what you mean by provider, but we don't experience many issues if that's what you mean. While we have mostly good RP, we are looking to move out all of the bad roleplayers and rulebreakers and get in some real solid RPers from identity (like yourself) to populate the place.

  4. I figured if I was going to talk about my server, here'd be the place to do it. This sounds a bit advertisey, I guess it is a little, but it is under Arcade.

I've got a Serious RP server much like Identity that's recently gone up. We have a decent player-base, but we'd like more of the good role-players that Identity is attracting!

Message me or reply if you're interested. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!

Honestly you meet requirements of someone who would be annoying in-game

    - Minecraft picture

    - "Gamer" in username

    - Complaining about people calling him out on being 12

i honestly thought this was a joke at first then i realized it wasnt when i scrolled down

Not to mention is use of '..........', capitalizing every word in the sentence, or even every letter.

  6. Often younger people don't have as good a grasp on roleplay or rules. Sounds like a generalization but in my experience it's very true. If you can RP, great. But most twelvies can't.

Also, when young people say "I'm mature.." they very often aren't. They think they are, but they aren't. And because they think they are, they are all surprised when older people don't like them.

    Johnny,

You act like you are the best and only one around who knows what he is doing. I am just saying that you should make sure you can walk the walk if your gonna talk the talk. The big boys don't go around spouting about how they are the best or how everyone else isn't "real"! if you knew anything about real crime families then you would know that they gained respect out of their actions and not by naming themselves the best, like you have.

Never named myself the best or did anything like that? You are assuming a lot. And this is OOC. In RP I'm going to be a lot more modest to be in line with my character.

EDIT: Reading over my initial post I can see where you got that idea but it was only intended as a question, not to be read into quite as much as you have.

    Advertise much?

I don't think that the rose-port pirates meet the standards since it litteraly doesn't follow the basic things that any modern pirates do and the story is pretty much flawed so i guess you guys are friends?

I can say that your family is impressive everything is correct and precise same for the the Langston Family.

    Just my 2 cents.

It wasn't meant as an advertisement, I guess it sort of turned into that though. I don't mean the Roseport Pirates, they are definitely not a proper crime family. I meant the Roseport Mafia. And the Langston Family isn't a proper crime family as they aren't Italian, nor are they set out like a proper crime family. Thanks, by the way.

  9. So I've been wondering if there are any other proper crime families. Seems right now like it's just the Marianos and maybe the Roseport Mafia. Of course, the Mariano Crime Family is accepting members, but we don't just let anyone in. Message me if you're interested and believe you have what it takes. Anyway, it would be good to see some more real crime families emerging.

    Russians have rights.

Bit of an ignorant / pretentious statement. He wasn't denying this, simply saying that the language barrier could be game breaking. The logical solution would be a RU server. All depends if there would be enough Russians playing to call for one, but if not then that could pose problems for the EU players.

Wow, really? I've seen quite a few of your posts about ''roleplay'' & how this game is going to be all about that, as someone pointed out to you in another thread, that's not true. It'll depend on what kind of server you play on. You call yourself a 'hardcore' roleplayer and yet, via a forum outside of the game world, you've already established yourself as the Don of a mafia family AND a member of a crime commission, word to the wise here Johnny......'hardcore' would be spawning into Identity with just the clothes on your back & then actually trying to establish yourself as a mobster, forming a family, and actually working your way to the top, not by telling everyone on a forum that you're a Mafia Don and you deserve respect. Or should we all play by your rules?.....hmmm, okay then............

So my char' is going to be the Attorney General,, and after and intensive investigation spanning ten years I know all about your Crime Commission & my office has got you all on RICO charges.....starting to see how this DOESN'T work yet Johnny? See Johnny, in roleplay GAMES it's always been the tradition that the char' you choose starts at the bottom (okay so you're a level 1 wizard with 2 spells) and earn your way to greatness by actually taking part in the game......which is why we'll all be starting at the bottom in Identity (well not you obviously). You're not roleplaying, you're metagaming.......

Metagaming is any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game. Another definition refers to the game universe outside of the game itself.

In simple terms, it is the use of out-of-game information or resources to affect one's in-game decisions.

...........you don't speak for me Johnny, & you don't speak for Asylum, so before telling anyone else not to buy this game, and quoting rules at them, how about you find out what the rules actually ARE.

I don't plan on starting with a huge criminal empire. I plan on starting, like everybody else, as a nobody, and (hopefully) eventually building one up. I don't know how you've got it into your head that I ever wanted anything otherwise. In fact, rising up and putting the hours in is going to be half the fun. I also fail to see how I was metagaming, especially considering the fact that the game isn't out yet. But, I'm not here to argue and though I stand by what I said to that guy, I perhaps put it a little bluntly. My bad.

Jesus, I use to moderate a gmod darkrp server. WORST Decision I ever made......

I'm hoping for serious role play as well, not that semi-serious bullshit.

I used to own one. Trying to get people to actually roleplay was so damn hard.

Behold! As true candidate, Syym Kvasir is before your very eyes.

Best name for my ideology would be: Commerical Liberalism

All my policies will be influenced by economy. Money will have #1 priority.

Most candidates concentrate on civilian prosperity or rights and it will take quite some time and many procedures in order to fulfill that, or it may even fail midway.

By having strong fiscal policy we have strong economy, profitable businesses, prosperity within all citizens. Fixing "money problems" directly will vanish many other problems, e.g. declearing prohibition over drugs will increase their value, which will increase farmers profit, which will enrich rural areas, since they have more money.

Starting or salvation needing businesses will get funds. Businesses are #2 prority. Even if some businesses doesn't produce profit.....  money circulation is #3 priority. "Standing cash will make economy starting to ferment" - actual quote by: Syym Kvasir.

Fellow citizens, there is no point to hide importance of money, fiscal policy.

On elections day, i recomend you to vote for candidate, who has intrest in fiscal policy.

This is very well thought out, and with the proper planning, could actually pan out as you've written here. You're the only person here who has convinced me that my vote would be best with you than anyone else. You've got my vote.

Heh, i love it when people just write, Welcome to my crime family, we have ranks, and get money. It takes ALOT of hard work, and a Good leader, SMART leader and friends, to make a successful crime family on the pillars of success, because what these people will end up being, is more like a street gang. You think you can put on a suit and tie and start being macho, think again because the big boys are always looking for new chew toys.

Just to play devil's advocate for a second, this is (to an extent) what you've done yourself. Not attempting to start trouble, just observing.

Either way, it's a good point. You can't just stroll up and claim that you will run the underworld, you need a solid plan, organisational structure, and an intelligent leader. Either way I'm sure we can all agree that 'I.C.E' (which makes no sense, as Nicky said, why would the people of Identity run a criminal 'organisation' named after the game they don't know they're in) has very little chance of getting anywhere, and this guy pissing off every single mob boss on the server hasn't helped his case.

@Johnny I can't say I speak for the Devs, so I can't disagree with what you are saying. I just think we should all have a little more faith in Motwon And Paratus. If, by the time they have released the first module, and they still have been reading our ideas, then we should make a problem out of it. Until then, lets just wait and see whats in store.

That's fair enough, and we really don't have any other option, do we? And I'm sure I'm not the only one with a good deal of faith in them, otherwise we wouldn't still be here, but from the looks of it there are so many promising ideas and so much good feedback on the forums which seems to go unnoticed.
