  1. I have a few different plans, each character will probably be established on a different server:

A Canadian Lumberjack that spends most of his time in the woods; Hunting, fishing, logging, Growing weed, etc. Polite, kind, and helpful when he sees someone in need, but mostly minds his own business.

A No-nonsense Private investigator that works for anyone that can afford him. Not afraid to go above or around the law, and certainly not afraid to get his hands dirty if need be.

And a Psychiatrist that starts out with good intentions of rehabilitating criminals, but ends up going mad, kidnapping criminals, murderers, and cruel individuals, taking them to remote locations, questioning them, and deciding what to do with them based on their answers. Eventually he attempts to form a group/cult with the sole purpose of opposing and converting criminals from their ways, either through words or through force.

  2. Personally, I think 300 people per server in a 225 KM squared map is plenty. (Although more would be cool)

Even 100 people in an area that size in, for comparison a game like Arma or DayZ is a pretty dense population. I'm confident that with some testing they will find the sweet spot for the Player cap. :)

  3. I'm not worried about it personally. Different teams often do things very differently, and I have plenty of room in my steam library for both.

Competition in a market like this isn't always a bad thing. Naturally it was only a matter of time for this game style to develop into a genre with all of the mods etc that have been going strong for years.

That all being said if 'Everyone' has shitty P2w things like being able to buy money etc I won't be playing it, Fuck microtransactions, IMO.

No, as in what you said was not comedic, in the slightest. The 'ha ha ha' sound did not come out of my mouth.

Good for you? I didn't recall saying it was a funny joke, not sure why you're trying to be so edgy here.

NVM looking at your posts I'd say you just take things a bit too seriously, I understand guy it's okay.

  5. Now back on topic of the actual discussion at hand; I think the player will always find ways to be corrupt to a degree, whether its through mechanics or meta-gaming in general. BUT Hopefully the systems in place will prevent Cops from griefing or being too terrible to an extent. I am sure there will be ways to RP a corrupt officer though.

I am curious about how that will work exactly, but I'm sure it will be subject to change even after release if something proves problematic. I intend to play as a (Mostly) Crime free Civ so it would be nice to know I'm not going to get arrested for no reason. :)

Nah you're just bad at making jokes mate xD

Ah, I will be sure to use many Kappas and Lels when joking as per internet tradition, legit meant no disrespect to the fella haha

If I quote a person, I will give source. If you simply wanted a source (which you did and that is fine) I would have replied like I am doing now with this exact answer.

I remember reading about it from one of the developers regarding this issue but they did not speak a lot about it. Whether it was on Twitter or here, I do not remember nor can I quote them as I am absolutely too lazy to find it. But I can assure you it has been said that the corruption will be an official law on official servers. However the philosophy of corruption will never be tainted nor fade away. So of course rules can be implied for that one person. I am sure you will receive a much more better quote or answer from someone whom is either willing to link you the source or either give you an answer as a staff member.

I am also going to point out that this forum has not really developed any sense of humour so not really any point in trying that, either way I apologise for the late response.

No worries bud, I was more a bit off-put at Kickapoo's odd response than anything, Thanks for sharing!

I know that on the official servers "You cannot be a corrupt cop" as I have asked and got the answer which was there will be a system in place to stop corruption.

Thanks, It seems my attempt at humor was lost on some of the folk in here.

Considering he tried to help you out I'd try and be more greatful. If you are looking for information that isn't so to speak 'Out of our butts' then you won't find an awful lot. Check the official announcements for that.

Considering I'm not the person that asked the question and was mostly making a joke I 'd try and take 2 seconds to think before you jump in to their rescue.

Allow me to translate for people with 0 sense o' humor or ability to discern hostility from casual conversation:

He said it in a pretty-matter of fact way with quite a bit of certainty behind it. Considering I typically follow/read all the dev posts already  and have heard no such statement made me wonder if it was a legit answer that has been made, or if he is Just inserting his own opinion as fact. Which in turn James actually answered for us.

Can say whatever you want here, but its a pretty healthy idea to remember to specify if one is using speculation, or quoting them directly.

There will be a system regarding corruption as it will be an official rule stating that you can not be corrupt as a cop or government official regarding the police force.

Is there a source for this or are you just talking out of your butt?

Wow you've really been brushing up on your Shakespeare! Well done!

The 'Westworld' series on HBO really got me back into it. (Plus it will come in handy for menacing N'er do-wells when they try to rob me)

I believe right now you don't need to process it at all. You can grow it in an RV or your apartment and then sell it. There might be a mechanic added that adds more steps before distribution is possible.

Cool! I always found it kinda lame that cops could camp the only place you could produce them in A3L.

    Thanks for the quick answers!

    Player vehicles.

    Okay thank you!

I have one other question; Is there a stationary NPC Vendor the player needs to process/sell the drugs they make to similar to altis life? How do you sell them if not?

Not sure if this is something that's yet to be decided but I figured I'd throw the question out anyway.

There will be different types but they won't be customizable. At least not on release, sorry!

Are the Meth RV's player vehicles or are they stationary places you go to?

Religion in Identity? I foresee cults conspiring...

The Church of Natural Philosophy welcomes all, my brother. Especially those with combat and drug production skills

I promise, we're a totally legit religion and definitely don't kidnap people and bring them into the woods for lengthy Sermons on the betterment of mankind.

  17. I plan starting off as a Canadian lumberjack to make money initially, and just role play a normal Civ while I get to know the map and whatnot. Once I'm over the normal Civ life I would like to try to start a cult/gang that kidnaps/converts people, and does general hired work for other gangs and organizations while claiming the Cult is a Non-Profit Religious organization as a cover story.
