Apartment furniture is fixed, some bugs like lamps don't plug in right away, Glitching through buildings has been patched for the most part, elevator is a lot better, UI is more stable, cinema is more stable, sometimes a black screen, most time it's playing movies. Painting is buggy still but works. Part of the alpha is working out the kinks, it's been getting a lot better i assure you. The past few updates had to be rolled back, that's why there was so many in that day.

No furniture aren't fixed, u can't use any of them, which is absurd because u can use same ones in the lobby, tv doesn't work either, and as far as I'm aware u can't hang them on the walls (clocks, keys etc) Basically from trailer we have seen nothing works yet, and big chunk of features shown on housing trailer isn't even implemented.

Glitching through walls maybe is fixed but u can still glitch in any table / chair / sofa.

Elevator is broken as hell, every time there is one or more players with u in it it won't take u to your apartment but someone else, players appearing and disappearing all the time, camera turning around once u get to lobby etc.

UI just lagging once u open new "tab" whatever it is inventory or pause menu, flickering on game start etc. Not ro mention it looks like some default theme from Windows 98 coloured on green, game itself jamming too, once per few minutes there is like 3sec lag spike / sudden performance drop.

Idk which game u play but painting isn't working for me at all, once i want to paint canvas my brush not showing up, retry few times, manage to paint something than want to switch colours and brush disappearing again once i trying to change size or colour everything vanishing from canvas, wasn't able to paint literally anything.

Can agree they fixed few small things but its still far from playable and very very far from any entertaining experience or even any gameplay, basically u can just login, switch some clothes, run around and log off.

Town Square isn't even as bad as I was expecting. In fact it was exactly what I was expecting for the past year or so. Because I was on holiday the day it released I only got the opportunity to play the game yesterday, I heard from a lot of Youtubers that the game was garbage due to it crashing and the amount of bugs it had and the lack of content, but I have been playing the game for a few hours now, and haven't experienced a single bug besides from a few objects not placing properly in my apartment. This is probably because they have fixed most of the major bugs by now, but still it is a lot better than some are making it out to be. I was incredibly impressed with the amount of clothes you can choose from as well as how much you can customize your apartment. As long as the devs frequently update Town Square, and add new content in the game until the upcoming release of the next module, I will be impressed and satisfied with my purchase.

Good work Devs! It's hard to rate a game which is no where near being finished so I'll give it an even 5/10.

Peoples couldn't even play for nearly two weeks since update to begin with, glitching trough objects, apartments doesn't work, elevator was absolutely bugged, game and ui jamming every minute, cinema wasn't working (maybe its still a thing but i didn't try it) painting is broken as hell, just from the top of my head and yesterday I downloaded 11gb update (size of whole module) just to get 13gb update right after that I not even bothering to finish because there is nothing to do in game,  downloading update would take more time than i spend in game.

Exactly, just like I have a right to be here and voice my opinion as well. Again, you don’t have to stick around. Have a good day. 🙂

So have your opinion but do not try to discourage people from posting whatever they feel, they have full right to do it and "stick around" and u are not a boss here to pick who can stay or who's not because they have different point of view than u.

2 years ago the "game" was still in production, so you didn't buy a game, you backed a project. Theirs a difference. A lot of people understand your frustration but don;t take into account the small team they have and the amount of times they've reworked the entire Town Square, about 3 times actually with the most recent rebuild being this past year. So yes, things in video will seem different from what you can currently do but that does NOT mean that's how it's always going to be. This is the first release, with a hand full of patches, they're doing the best they can with the resources they have. A triple A game company can spend 80-upwards of 200 million on game production and have issues worse than what Identity has seen. No one is forcing you to stay, we are hoping you be a little more patient and hope to see the hard work they are trying to accomplish for us.

How delusional u have to be...

Small team u said? If 30 employees is a small team u definitely didn't see small team yet.

The amount of times they reworked whole built is only another finger pointing on them how little knowledge about development they have and yet probably going to redo whole module again because none is working, ui flickering like crazy, jamming all the time, nearly 2 weeks after release and my game still freezing in loading screen, managed to connect twice and played about 30min while having over 2h game time on steam trying to connect.

When I actually connected none of features working except karaoke (not exactly as well because there are problems with voip). Painting doesn't work, apartments doesn't work (like absolutely, u can't place furniture as u want, furnitures itself are non interactable, none of changes to apartments apply etc) newspapers doesn't work, library is not even implemented, character can stuck in any object (chairs, sofas, tables, walls etc) elevator is absolute bugged, animations are hilariously bad, different layers of clothing sticking trough each other, consumables doesn't work. Im not sure there is a single thing that works properly so please stop spreading that bullshit about AAA companys and problems they have with their own titles because its not even close to what we getting in identity, most of games I own are early acces / indie / single person projects titles and none of them were / are close to that mess in identity.

So if u don't like outrage from peoples because they get something different that was advertised / promised " no one forcing you to stay here" peoples who paid for it have rights to voice their concerns or at least warn others to be aware of this game.

I have Patience and it hasn't diminished.

My beef if you will is that the problem has supposedly been fixed in the first hotfix but yet I can't even log into the game while more or less most of the community can.

I just want answers as to why the game still won't work and if there's any sort of fix coming anytime

That was my point, u was keep saying that since april, now u have to be patient and wait for fix but suddenly that rule doesn't apply now?

Nevermind that when the hell is the UI going to get fixed? Everytime I boot up identity it's always the same. The game gets to the screen where my character is standing and that's all that happens. No menus no option to make a character no option to play etc. Nevermind apartments when the hell are people like me going to actually be able to play?

I get that it's a social module and it's pre-alpha and everything is to be expected and that's okay but it's pretty damn BS that people can play while I can't despite having a laptop that meets the requirements of town square because it never loads despite reinstalling at least once.

Seriously why is it that despite several updates and hotfixes I still can't even just play?

This isn't a rant or criticism or even a go at the devs I'm just pissed off that I can't even play the module while everyone else can.

"patience" as u like to say, "patience seems to disappear altogether"

I know, and more programmers would always be good, but I don't know what's John's (Paratus) plan about it.

Are dev blogs will continue? Im curious how devs will communicate with us? Any chance of clear road map what is going to be added with updates?

Heard dev blogs are deleted so I'm assuming that way of steady information flow is gone? No more streams? Which official channel of asylum will deliver all information about further development and plans?

Motown left because he moved to the US to explore other paths. He loved his job but it was stressful. He was in the art side which is already ahead at the moment so it shouldn't affect development. I have to admit that his departure really shocked me. But I know he's a great guy and he's still around in the Discord, and will always support Identity.
    35jAdO7.png

Lucky Duck is just taking a break to deal with real life. He's still around as a moderator but won't do moderation.

Beach_Ball left on good terms and didn't renew his contract. We still don't know if he'll come back. At the moment, Olio and HairyGrenade is taking the Community Manager position.

He didn't leave after launch, he left before but didn't announce it publicly then. He wasn't expecting the launch to be rough though.
    dRJGvqr.png

As for myself, I've only recently joined the moderator team (11th of November 2018 to be exact). But since I've joined this community, I've always been on Asylum's side, regardless of all the drawbacks and unforeseen issues. I'd be lying if there wasn't a moment I've been upset. In fact, there's a few things that left me with mixed feelings, but I just learned to live with it and move on. Reason why I still support this project is because I know the team is dedicated, despite the mistakes (which happens). I know some of the developers work overtime even during weekend in order to fix those issues as soon as possible.

Does it change anything? People from core of team left, one of them was a founder which is absolutely worse whatever reason he had, leaving your own project u have been for 4 years, after that disaster of release says it all.

  9. 24 minutes ago, Edikosh said:

So it has been proven that the team has no experience in game development. Now with 4 years you can have more than enough time to learn how to use UE4 system and somehow develop a decent Town Square module. Maybe from now major updates will come basing on that last statement.

If 4 years, over million dollars and 20 artists isn't enough to even finish whole map there is no hope for me, they probably already running out of money and TS isn't a game yet, just bugged 3d chat room that jamming every 2 minutes. Just take a look at youtube 'fast lvl design' realize what game dev hobbyist can do in few hours, asylum probably learn as they go and doesn't really care what they will try to do tomorrow.

I haven't logged into the servers yet, aside from creating a character (with which the animations are lagged). I knew from that point that the servers aren't yet optimised for the game and thus the devs of like what, 5 or 6 people(?), are stretched pretty thin.

While your anger isn't really misplaced, does it really accomplish or achieve anything?

You're backing the developers to produce the game. That's what your donation was for. If you honestly think they should be doing much better, then take yourself to College/University, get a degree in game development, and join their team. It should only take you three to four years, so by that timeline, they should be just about to release the SWAT module :)

There was (at this point idk even anybody that rest of founders working on it) about 30 employees working on it 4 years, if thats for u small team u haven't seen small team yet. The fact is they were mostly artists and at this point its even more damning when u realize only that small fraction of the map is done, very limited character creator, very few clothing options, ui looks like from windows 98, jamming all the time and even animations arent done. Good games like firewatch or subsistence are created by single person, scum by about 15 peoples, without any funding, just in free time after irl work, talent is what count not number of devs, especially when it coming to so tiny bit of work like TS, servers weren't even up for release, they started booting them yesterday and they are only in US and Oceania, me from EU still can't connect 3 days after release, not a single word from devs whats wrong, when it going to work, still same old message in game that servers going to be up at Saturday night but we have Monday already... this game is absolute car crash, now I'm seriously thinking if I will be able to connect once before steam will take them down or they just abandon it without any information.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. Motown leaving in particular is a seriously bleak symbol at this point that is impossible to ignore.

    What a disappointment.

yeah, first fraction of tiny module doesn't even started working yet and big part of core team that started it is already gone, rats running away from sinking ship, probably barely anyone is working on it now (they said about 20 artist work on in so im assuming they are already gone) they enjoyed sweet wages for doing fuck all 4 years and now gonna blame this failure on us, already seen peoples on reddit and steam forum reporting it as a "broken product" unbelievable some peoples here still talking about it hyped for patches...

  12. yea, me too, its getting more and more annoying, first they delayed it, than taken down servers, than I couldn't launch the game at all, now game works but after loading screen it booting me to menu all over again... will I be able to even try it before its gone?

In my opinion, the whole project is a patience project. The team is working very hard to make this game and I personally believe they aren't going to scam us or any of that because if they did the whole Asylum community would face backlash and it just wouldn't make sense. To summarize though small team + big idea for a game = Long wait.

This game will be taken down from steam within month, Motown (one of founders) already run away, lucky duck (one of first mods on this forum if not first) left, first community manager (dont remember his name) left too, they will be gone until new year.

  14. So servers should be up today, i turned steam on, updated it and now cant even turn the game? when i hit play game showing "running" status on steam for few seconds and shuting down itself, no window pop up and nothing, so what now?

  15. 1 minute ago, Frisky said:

Yeah I couldn't believe after all this time... that was the character customization... like wth how after 4 years is that all you have to offer.

I can't play yet because game bugged on menu and i can't see any ui but all i can hear about they seems to be working on ui and apartments for last few months and peoples who was lucky to play said apartments doesn't work at all, and obviously ui either... so i would ask what the duck they did all that time since april?

Im considering launching my own game, put some nice video on kickstarter take all that sweet money and do fuck all as they did.

  16. 31 minutes ago, deamoniz said:

well... waited that long... we still have other games to play x( anyways we can only hope that MAYBE devs will manage and repair this issu. servers for game were still down, when i tried to enter. and turning vsync on helped picture pretty good xD

And yet so many peoples here still hyped and full of faith they gonna release it. All that lies about how first impressions is most important, how they want to release fully working product just to miss even steam date and shut the game down next day because nothing working. Now they banned all the peoples who talking about it and probably only matter of time when they gonna ban me, leave all fanboys here to have "health" community

What a dumpster fire it is.

  17. 4 hours ago, DLimit said:

I believe that these issues shall be resolved within the next week.

are u serious? They delayed release in aprit to "fix all the bugs" because they doesn't want "release broken product" and they release that thing? It looks like they actually started working on it since april, not past 4 years... there is not a single thing working in thus "game" absolute scam.

  18. 5 minutes ago, deamoniz said:

well yeah. even if they launched, does not mean you can get in towns square. had launched it, but never got further than buggy char creation screen.

FFS i couldn't even name my char because, everything works in 25fps lagging and stuttering, backspace in char name works like in web browser, it taking me back to creator again and when Im done? "Please wait" for 5 min now... And what the hell is "ShooterGame" it is redo of some example project in Unreal?

  19. 1 minute ago, dagtag said:

again they never said it would be up by then, publishing and releasing are two different words, when you publish something you make it ready for release. in other words you pass it on to steam to get it verified. that is what publishing is

OMG, its my last replay in this post because u dont understand what u talking about, u twisting words to justify bullshit  u spreading here

    1. They said steam page will be up until end of October, its 1 November, PAGE IS NOT ON STEAM YET.

    2. Publishing mean available to PUBLIC, not valve employs, PAGE IS NOT PUBLISHED YET.

    3. verification =/= publishing.

Its not like something big happens, but u and some other users here trying to spread false info and justify whatever happens. None of this happens.
