  1. Well, the day is almost here.

Yes, this is just a taste / proof of concept. You see how long this little taste has taken them. Unless they expand their team drastically, I do not expect to see a full playable game until 2020 / 2021. No joke here folks. With them scraping all previous work for a more ambitious player count on servers is the reason for my thoughts. Hey, I hope I am wrong, but we will see how far off I am when it finally does happen. I just hope they stop putting out false release dates and they truly hold to their not paid to win stance throughout.
  2. I feel betrayed

This topic has been covered previously. (closed by devs) Their response is that the money will help further develop the game and they will not sell items that give advantages etc... It seems like the whole world is accepting micro-transactions and it is ruining gaming in my opinion. Want that cool shirt? Give me $2.00 real bucks and it is yours! Poof! You don't have to go our and EARN it, just get instant gratification for a fee..... Ok, enough of my rant.
  3. Delay thoughts?

Oh boy.... another delay? Yes, yes delays happen we are all fully aware. STOP GIVING DATES!!!!!! It does not build trust with your community when you continue to not deliver on what you say. I know it takes time etc.. but stop giving dates!! The only thing I can think of is that you are trying to promote your game or stay relevant in some news somewhere by giving out dates. First impressions are important and what did the vid you guys hurried out the door show us? You have MUCH further to go than everyone thinks. Take your time, make your game but please stop giving out timelines you are unable to meet.
  4. This Is What People Were Talking About

Round and round we go.... some one makes a thread defending the devs and some one makes one attacking them. Of course people asked for a video, they will ask for anything they can. The devs didn't have to provide one though. The video they released felt rushed and incomplete in my opinion. It showed me personally how far they have yet to go. They are a small team and it is what it is. Look forward to the Town Square and see how it goes from there. I humbly ask that everyone stop posting all these passive / aggressive threads and relax. Go play something else and check back in 2019 / 2020 when it might be close to getting complete.
  5. About that latest video

I could be wrong here, but it seems like they still have a VERY far way to go based on the video. Yes, I know there are placeholders in place and things will change but shouldn't it be updated since the last video by now? If the release date in March is real, then are we all going to be running about like that when it is released? That will actually be hilarious seeing everyone running around like that if so. I was hoping that they were further along. This video is very.... telling. They are a small team and have accomplished a good amount but we are in for a long wait for a QUALITY end result. The Good: I like the multiple steps involved in the drug cooking mini game. Character models looked good. Gun play looked good. Saw deer (wildlife) run off when cop was approaching RV. Cop car model also looked good. Keep it up guys! I am hoping for success here.
  6. Recent Community Toxicness

Extremely well said sir. I have the exact same feelings on the subject. Disappointment aside, I wish the devs would just stop giving out dates no matter the demand. I don't think that is an unreasonable request. It gives hope to people only to be let down when things get pushed. This could all be avoided by simply saying that you will get it when you get it. You can emphasize how you say something like we "might" or "may" but it sends a misleading message in the end. One that doesn't build faith.
  7. Micro-transactions in RPG will tottally kill it.

Nothing in life that is worth anything is easy to get. That is what makes it WORTH having. Maybe the game play for some is actually working to get things in game and when you can just throw cash at it, it DE-VALUES the assets. Everyone will enjoy different aspects of the game but that is what drew me to the game personally. Working the jobs will be fun to a degree but when you see someone whiz past you wearing that outfit that you have been saving for on day one, it defeats working for anything. I actually laughed out loud at this. I am 39 years old with 4 kids, I know money doesn't last forever. That is why I said charge more for the game up front instead of microtransactions. Develop other ways to get money along the way. Monthly subs where you get access to an exclusive resort / behind the scenes artwork or something...
  8. Micro-transactions in RPG will tottally kill it.

They make money selling the game. That is why we buy it. Selling items that you work for for real world money de-values the efforts in getting them in my opinion. What about user created content? Can those be bought with real money? I played and enjoyed Arma life greatly. Without micro transactions. I know this is a much more ambitious effort. Overall it is their project and it is their choice but i am concerned about not only the longevity, economy but the gameplay itself.
  9. Micro-transactions in RPG will tottally kill it.

That is a shame. I would happy to pay it. I understand that the starting price point is a very touchy point and can alter sales quite a bit. It comes down to confidence in the product in the end. The bad thing about this situation is that it will potentially ruin the game itself.
  10. Micro-transactions in RPG will tottally kill it.

Well said! I would rather pay a full AAA price tag up front instead of watching these microtransactions unfold. Ok, the point is roleplaying but we roleplay to earn money. To buy stuff. Magically making money appear isnt roleplaying.
  11. Micro-transactions in RPG will tottally kill it.

It is the way life and gaming has become. No one wants to work or earn things and so the devs cater to this. The cosmetic items are exactly what we work for! To show your friends, hey looked what I earned! It adds value to items other than $$$. I understand that you guys are trying to fund development past release etc... I just wish there was some other way. Completely ruins the point for not only this game but gaming in general.
  12. Mini games

Yes! This a hundred times over!!!!! Billiards Darts Fishing Go Karting (race courses) Basketball Casinos Bowling Cornhole (bean bag toss) Golfing Not everyone wants to grind all of the time or play PVP. One of the biggest draws to me about this game is the ability to do chill activities as well as the other. It is an awesome feeling to get a way from a game within the game itself. GTA tried this but their mini games were too buggy and not fleshed out enough. Awesome mini-games would go a long way in keeping people playing.
  13. 2018 is here!

I am interested in seeing it in action (aka more vids) myself. There are a lot of lofty promises and everything SOUNDS like it will be the best game ever made, but can they pull it off? Town Square won't prove that, but it will be nice to animations, art and overall "feel" for the game. I am hopeful they can pull this off, because with the right community it could be exactly what the industry needs and myself included.
  14. New Screenshots (UPDATED)

    LAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMPPPPPSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Introduction

Hey guys! I am new as well. I have been monitoring from the shadows for a while now but finally decided to register. I look forward to the release of Town Square and beyond. Played Altis Life quite a bit and I am hoping to have that and then some with this game. Everything I see and hear sounds great so far. I look forward to see folks in the square.
