Early 2017?

Recommended Posts

Is it just me, or has the first module been 64% done for the past year? They have 3 modules coming total, if the 2 others are gonna take as long as the first one, the game will be out in 2025?

Just wait, how hard is that. All games gets delays and the devs don't want us to play a half finished early access type game. They want the game to be perfect, feature packed and not shit. The game is better late than unfinished / its been about 5 months at 64% but they will deliver when the module is completed not half done.

Not once did i mention an unfinished game is better than it being late. All i said, was if they keep up this pace, we will have flying cars before they are done

You are both right. Yes the devs did say that they would like all 3 modules released within this year and it doesnt look like they will but as James said. Making a game isnt a walk in the park. The devs are trying to stick to their schedule but it is easy for a game to break at any point. Bugs and other annoyances can come out of nowhere. Its up to the dev team, which may i remind you is a small one, to get rid of those bugs and make the game playable. Not necessarily when the game is 'finished' will it come out but also once its stable. The devs know that this is a loved project and its up to them to make it a possibility, its up to us to support them and give them the space they need. Yes it will take longer that expected to get our hands on this game but you just gotta be patient. If you arent patient enough then why are you wanting to play a life simulator where patience is a big factor? Myself and @JamesLuck01 have been here since the kickstarter so we understand how most of the community feels but you just gotta wait it out bro :)

The devs will let us know when the job of testing the game comes up, just sit tight.

Well the first module takes the longest as they will have to get the gameplay and majority of the coding done, the second and third modules will take 4 months at max as it will be a little bit of coding and map development.

Don't be too specific with time on making a game because its really unpredictable.

Shadow Thats actually not true and the other way round because Town Square is just for socialising but Racing is where they have to get cars which takes a lot more coding and The Swat they have to include weapons and all sorts of things so really we will only see one module this year and possibly late next year full release at their current pace.

How about just everyone stop giving a estimate time frame unless you know how hard it is to create a game and how long it takes (those who actually have tried)

Ahaha agreed. I have used Unreal and yes its easier than making a game from scratch but its still a hard process and some people just cant seem to get that into their head.

I don't think it matters how hard it is or how long it takes, what the issue is is we haven't received an update in over 3 months despite being told that updates would be regular and they continue to say that the game is on track for a 2017 beta release when we're more than halfway through 2016 and haven't seen anything that remotely suggests that's a possibility. The problem isn't how long they're taking it's how they're keeping everyone in the dark and have honestly nothing to show for all the talk. The lack of trust is completely normal considering many past Kickstarter games have been canned after getting funded. They either need to come out and admit that an early 2017 beta was too ambitious for a tiny team and show us at least some progress or come out and prove us completely wrong.

@Kalebninja

I think what what you are saying is the hard truth to be honest; no one wants hear it, but its true. I am still on the hype of this game, and its kinda blinded me in to the possibility that this game isn't coming out early next year. I think they should update us more often, I didn't spend $90 USD to be kept in the dark, and I know others have pledged more.

either you both go away or stay. that are the 2 options. not everyone wants to see EVERY part of programming code they create.

it's a rpg that is a reallife simulator at the same time. just visit them in canada to find out something or contact someone who paid 5k via kickstarter only to contact the developers via skype. you think i don't want to know anything too?! if there is no game at all i'll just take my money back

Yes but I do also agree and understand what @Kalebninja is saying.

Well you im pretty sure if you leave your audience in the dark for like 3 months of course their gonna get worried. I just think early 2017 is a very ambitious because we dont even have one module and it half way 2016 so like im pretty sure their is gonna be a delay from what we are seeing right now

Honestly LionKing, if you're gonna keep whinging then just leave the forums. You complaining about it constantly won't speed things up, and if anything yours and everyone elses moaning is bogging our forums down with misery when there should be nothing but discussion and excitement for the game.  The old forums were a LOT better because the people on them made interesting posts, ideas and used their imagination to make it a community worth staying in. And let me tell you now you and the rest are fucking killing these forums. If you ever lose hope in this game that is fine, it's just pointless telling us about it so the best thing you can do is leave the forums, try and forget identity ever existed and move on with your life.

You are right but I will be honest a lot of the admins are just people who played on their Arma 3 server, so will be as clueless about it as we are.

Stop assuming that the admins know anything about it.

Besides Paratus and MoTown, none of the admins know shit about the game.

95% of the Admins are just the arma 3 Admins.

I understand the effort it takes to make even a 2d snake game from scratch with no art and no knowledge of programming what so ever. That being said i have been programming for years since then and that is something i could make in 5 minutes. Now the reason i am saying this is i want to make sure people read that i have had experience and can't tell me otherwise. A game called star citizen is the worlds most crowd funded game they had a problem with a guy called Derek Smart, he decided that the game couldn't possibly be made to what they said it would be. Since then a lot of people questioned important people leaving and getting fired which in turn made them refund there game packages. Now i'm not saying this is the case here but what i am saying is they still have tons of followers even when it was a team of 6. They kept there backers involved in everything but left the big release things to major events, this is why they have been successful. I have read and understand that the devs would rather work on the game to get it out quicker and working great then be on here telling us whats going on and they only have 9 people working on the game at any given time. But a little advice to the devs would be do a monthly update at the minimum or you may loose quite a bit of followers especially if this game will take a few years to make.

Honestly I Dont care about what  you say. Although i understand your point of view but i already pledged and im not leaving wether you like it or not. You might hate me for some reason that im always moaning oh when it the video ready and when is the module ready.. and yeah i understand but you dont have to be agressive because if i leave not much will change except for my presence. New people will ask and as more come in your gonna get annoyed but its not my fault not everyone knows as much about this game as you do.
