Will the town square be similar to a GTA public session?

Recommended Posts

In Grand Theft Auto Online (GTA) the public sessions are free to do what you want. This means people can pull out all kinds of guns and murder or destroy anything they want, it’s chaos. Is this what the Town Square will be like, or will it be more controlled?

No town square will just be a social module where you can customise you house/ apartment only. There will be no guns in this module, they will appear later in the swat module.

No. Town Square wont have guns or driving. But when the game comes out people need to understand there is a bit of an RP aspect to he game it self. If you shoot people the cops will come after you. Thats the thing that is great about the game. It is people with common sense who have the jobs. Cops will be smart and have to follow code. Also Identity is going to be wayyyy more free than gta  believe. You can get a job and much much more!!!

Also, no jobs in Town Square, ergo no money. Some links below will provide you with some helpful information! :)

The thing to remember here is this isn't GTA, in fact it's GTA 10x better. In Grand theft auto you can only play the criminal and when cops arrive they instantly go to kill, the cops in identity won't do that, they'll only be allowed to use lethal force if you attempt to kill them or injure them using extreme force.

Secondly you'll be able to do near enough anything such as get a job or a career ( difference is jobs get easy money but not a good source of income whereas careers are full time and bring much more money in ), own your own business or brand and sell clothing or just about anything else possibly. You'll be able to go fishing and farming and even cook meth or other drugs and distribute or use them for your own recreational purposes etc.

This game will be nothing like GTA, it'll make GTA look like a playground compared to identity and because of the RP aspect you'll be able to do whatever you want in peace of mind knowing that 99.9% of the time you won't be disturbed by other players unless you come across some chancer who thinks it is GTA and wants to go try and mug every person he comes across. ( In my personal opinion I don't think young people should be allowed to play this and should be restricted to an 18+ game, after all it's based on real life and I don't want COD kiddies coming in like it's day one of a new cod game ).

That said I'm looking absolutely forward with full excitement for identity and I couldn't be more excited as each day goes by and the task tracker is completed more and more, so everyone so tight and enjoy the ride, because it's coming sooner than we think and it'll be worth the wait.

Thanks for reading.

That's for full release whenever that will be. Careful not to get peoples hopes up about Town-Square. Town-square will not be much more than a little taste of movement and act as a social platform you can walk around in and interact with other people walking around. With some apartment customization as seen in the video.

Player made business' are Jobs. The careers are the Government ones in this. Yes you can call it a career but it is a job within the game. Which careers, you don't have to stay working all the time. You get to choose and I am sure the business owner will tell you what they want from you though but it is still your choice.

So this is actually big because  it is also the base of the game. So we will see the modules for everything popping up faster.

This game CAN be so much more than GTA. Hell, even more than GTA AND The Sims put together and multiplied. But that all depends on US...You have to figure if it took Rockstar so many years just to make GTA, they are a huge developer with unlimited capital and workforce. Asylum is going to need ALOT more help from it's player base if it ever wants to get there. They can't just make a game tremendously more in scale to anything out right now, simply cause they want to. With so many ppl trying to get the game for bare minimum $15-$30, this game is gonna need so many more ppl pledging to reach its goal.

We need more ppl that actually want to help development and not just help themselves to a potential game changer. You know any other developer would be chargin for everything, from normal stuff to being able to branch out into other jobs careers and such. They'd have a drug DLC, the Law DLC, EMT DLC, and so on and so forth...This is a game we can't be cheap with if we want it to come to life. "Pledging" anything under $60, if GTA was worth $60 for years after it released, Identity should be worth at least as much before it's released. I think they are screwing themselves by letting ppl get this game for $15-30. Imagine how much less GTA would have if they actually let ppl pay less for it if they got it early. People who pay less than the game is worth usually wait for a long time to play it. Only on PC do they let you pay less for a game to put your money in early...

This is the Master Race somehow? Yet A subscription service is too much to pay for 6.99 a month for system maintenance  & NO CHEATERS! But, will shell out tons of money for digital skins and weapons...basically NOTHING! I pay 24.99 a year for my PC Origins subscription. We can't have better than console games if the people on console are paying $60 for most of their games...And The Master Race with it's $650+ Gpu's, and water cooling, RGB lighting, and my... "platform" is bigger than yours complex.  Won't even give what a game, one of the most ambitious endeavors for a game imo, is worth and wants to be considered as supporting development. Identity will NOT make it if ppl don't start ponying up some dough. Or we are gonna be waiting like 10 years as a small team the fraction of the size of Rockstar tries to make it with a fraction of the Support. I don't get how GTA got so much money and its got chaos as a criminal, and grinding to give them money and time for cooler cars and more missions to waste or time and money on. Everyone is a criminal on GTA. On Identity we could actually be a criminal robbing working class citizens, not just other criminals!

I'm not rich, or a streamer...I had to make sacrifices to give what I pledged, but I love GTA and this is like 10 GTA's. This is so many simulator games packed into one! The only reason I see this game not coming to the light of day is because of this PCMR that thinks so highly of themselves, will pay butt loads for the dumbest stuff but seems to think games should be cheap. I know I'll probably catch flak for the PCMR comments...but I don't care. I have a PC too. I didn't spend oodles for my PC system though to play cheap ass games though.

With every successful module release, people will be willing to place more money down. We aren't being stingy, everyone has the choice whether to pledge more and that mainly depends on the guarantee of delivery.

Well WE are the only thing that guarantee's delivery...You can't expect ppl to make a game that's massive compared to games being made by huge developer's, expect them to do it with WAY less resources and for them to do it with a $15-$30 pledge and think that's actually helping...If this game doesn't become a reality. It will be only because of the player base, that can spend $60 for a game that's a fraction of the scale of Identity, but need's a guarantee to pledge what the game is worth. I didn't ask for a guarantee when I pledged...I really wish they were a major developer, then they could make the game and wouldn't need our help to make it a reality. Then they could charge whatever they wanted.

You can't really expect a guarantee when ppl won't pledge more till they get a guarantee. It's kinda hard to ask for a guarantee when they are relying on us to help them guarantee delivery. The longer it takes for us to fund them the longer it will take for the game to come out simple as that. Money ain't growing on trees for me either, I had to make huge sacrifices to pledge what I did. But I realize the scale they are attempting to make Identity.  If GTA cost 280 million to make, and GTA is a fraction of the size of what Identity plans to be...how much do you think they will need and actually using a fraction of the manpower...If they don't get enough funding they will either have to seek outside help, which will certainly mean giving up some creative freedoms, or they will just kill it. It's a great idea but it won't be shit if we don't give it what it deserves.

I never pledged for a game in my life, but when I seen Identity I decided it was high time to get a PC if games where actually starting to distinguish themselves from anything on console. Based on how massive the scale of this game is, I thought it would be an insult to try and get this game for that little. I spent 60 on gta 4 times once for each platform.  So I had to come correct for a game this ambitious. They want to make the game, if they have the funding, shouldn't nothing else stop them from making it. If we cheap out on them then this will be like another iteration of 2nd Life, without the porn, or it wont be anything at all.

We are the only ones who can guarantee whether or not Identity becomes a reality. If GTA took, a veteran developer with NO limitations, YEARS to make. How long you think it will take a new developer team, a fraction of the size of Rockstar, to make a game that's bigger than GTA by a long shot if we are limiting their funding waiting on a guarantee they can't deliver till they know if they will have the backing to actually get there...

This is why I tell people to keep on believing. We must believe in the devs and make sure that we are able to trust them to get this done. Once the module is out there will be many things that will come faster than ever. this is why our focus should just be town square right now.

It's hard to do when they don't show anything for the first playable module and then state that as soon as that module releases they're going to raise the price. That's just a crappy business practice and if they actually want those of us that are skeptical to back the game then they should be more willing to show things that are on the verge of release and definitely don't raise the price as soon as it does release.

The reason they have cheaper pledges is to be fair to people who only want the game at full release or want to contribute and enjoy the modules + beta but can't afford to pledge a huge contribution.
