It would be great for private servers to be able to customize their government to a system where they feel is best. Some places will want a casual server, a serious RP environment, or even a hardcore RP environment. Maybe a game mechanic can be created where you can create a branch / agency and add what power that position or department has. Or they can choose just to modify the current agencies or positions. The person can set divisions specific roles as well. Like a CFO can fire anyone in the finance department or the Captain in patrol can fire any officer in patrol or whatever. The following are examples of options you can add (if possible). Healthcare: We want everyone to be able to have care with all the obvious crime there will be. So, if you make less than $20 an hr you will be granted a fee of $100 per month. If you make $20 - $50 you'll be charge $200 and if you make any higher than $50 an hr you'll be charged $300 towards your health insurance. This monthly bill will provide unlimited health coverage for all your health needs. The Tale of Lucious Times Lucious Lee Times (myself) is a character that grew up homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In a city of crime Lucious had to be on the lookout at every turn. In Lucious' young life he grew to be very aware of the crime filled city and knew he had to do something to ensure his safety. At 15, Lucious started an organization with a few neighborhood boys called "The Peacekeepers". These boys were brutal. They cleaned the streets of crime in the most direct ways possible. Showing up to criminal hideouts and wasting away every member present, making fake visits to prisons and jails to poison and eliminate those criminals on the inside, making appointments with the LAPD to let THEM know how things would be done. The Peacekeepers were vigilantes at the finest. The city soon had a crime rate so low new schools were being built and more people migrated to the lovely city of Los Angeles. Through all the harsh deeds The Peacekeepers had done Lucious never was present for the actual action. He was the mastermind, the planner, the brain of the whole operation. Sitting behind a desk as leader of The Peacekeepers. Oh how things looked great! Lucious had made something out of nothing and became a city icon and hero as he grew older. Though soon, things made a turn for the worst. Lucious' closest partner, his beautiful fiance was capture by a man known by the name Gustavo Fring. A now well-known high profile methamphetamine drug lord. He did so becuase by cleaning up the city Lucious' made distribution for Mr. Fring come to a complete stop in the area. Lucious grew furious, so furious he began to walk into a whole new light. The Peacekeepers became a weapon at Lucious' disposal. He thought long and hard and then finally had a plan. After finding where Fring was located Lucious and his team of over 200 men approached the location, guns loaded and ready for anything. However, Fring was already aware of Lucious' presence and decided to retaliate. Fring killed Lucious' fiance, then sent out total war upon Lucious and his men. In the end only two men were left standing; Fring and Lucious. After few words, Lucious caught leverage and killed Fring. Though Lucious was severly injured by gunshot. He called the LAPD. With quickness, Lucious was saved and had chance to speak with the LAPD Chief of Police. He thanked Lucious for his doings and after a long conversation of tears the chief left. Lucious began to realize how much he'd loss. All his men, his fiance, his hold on the city from crime all gone! Three weeks later Lucious walked out of the hospital, grab all $789,211 he'd raised with his people, and began to leave town for a new home. A place called Turtle Beach on Identity Island. However, when he got to the town line he found something waiting for him. Over half the city was standing their with gold-colored gold-scented candles. Some of them stood to give thanks, but many stood ready to follow him wherever he went. A woman by the name of Dorris Jean approached Lucious and told him this: "We give these candles to represent who you are to the city. Forever will you be the gold we all love, the gold we all know has provided, the gold we all know will pay the price. For to us you are a leader and friend. For you have become like royalty in this city. And with you royalty we be your royal family." Lucious was proud. All negative feelings previous washed away. Lucious now felt the obligation to continue to lead. For he knew he was wise and could give great leadership. This time he wouldn't limit himself to the leadership of a groups of boys who run a city, no. That was below him now. Now he needed to lead in higher heights where he could have greater impact and influence. A position of power such as Governor would do the trick! So he then decided to venture into the political field of leadership once he arrived in his new home. A few hours later after a celebratory evening Lucious and the now called Royal Family left. 12 days later they arrived in Turtle Beach on the Identity island and the rest is soon to be foretold...

Healthcare is going to be a hot button issue on the island and I believe that it shouldn't be a government issued thing at all. This is going to be a big point of difference between me and the other candidates running for governor. There are many reasons why I feel this way. The first reason would be that the government has a track record of doing a poor job in the healthcare area. If you look at a real life example in Canada you will find huge waiting lists and people actually coming to America for operations and procedures. Another reason for no governmental healthcare is that I don't want the government to be responsible for your life. This may sound harsh but I don't want to take the blame for lives lost due to a failed healthcare policy. The third reason is the cost, the cost of healthcare to the government would be high and the care provided would most likely be lackluster (very generalized). With limiting the cost of healthcare to the government, the government could spend the money elsewhere like businesses for one example. With no government healthcare and leaving it to the private companies this would promote competition (which would drive down costs), and give you better quality care. There will be some money allocated to help private healthcare companies though. It will be small maybe 5% of the money that the government takes in will be allocated towards that. Corruption is going to be a huge issue especially in the police and government. This topic is going to explain my view on this issue and the way I'm going to combat it. For starters I'm going to make a law that makes all elected officials live by the laws they propose/pass (including myself) through. The next thing I'm going to do is set up districts where the people of those districts vote for representatives to represent them in a congress like set up. The only requirement is that they have to have no prior illegal gang involvement or criminal record, as well as no party affiliation. These people will help uphold a system of checks and balances to make sure no law is too overbearing. This will also assure that the will of the people alone will be met from that district. There will be a lawyer appointed from the reps (of the districts) to look into the governmental spending and cabinet members accounts. He must have no criminal record or party affiliation. This will make sure no money is flowing into criminal accounts. The police will have a strict vetting process and training to hopefully route out any bad eggs. There will be term limits. You can only be governor for 2 terms, each term being 1 year (may change). The governor will then peacefully pass down power to whoever was voted in. We will do this so no one becomes a dictator and will promote fresh ideas. The last thing is that the government will produce a public budget report at the end of each month. This will state where all the money was spent unless that information is classified for whatever reason. Questions? I have to open the discussion regarding the layout of the political system in identity, as reading through the forum posts I can't seem to find answers to my question of "How individuals participate in the political process". Will individuals be elected to stand for a political party like we do in the US? i.e. primaries and debates? So players can join together to create an official party (for example the Democrats and Republicans) and meet to create policies to then present in the election? Or will everyone be standing as independents in attempts to run as Governor? Constitution (Preamble) We the People of Sage Island, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for Sage Island County. Article 1 Legislative Section 1 All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in the Senate. Section 2 1: The Senate of Sage Island County shall compose of two Senators from each City, chosen through a vote by the people thereof, for one Month; and each Senator shall have one Vote. 2: The Senate shall assemble at least once every Month. 3: The Senate shall choose a Chairman to preside over Senate meetings. 4: If Vacancies happen by resignation, or otherwise, during the recess of the legislature, the Senate Chairman shall then make temporary appointments until the next Senate meeting, which shall then fill such Vacancies. Section 3 1: The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. No person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two-thirds of the Senate members present. 2: Judgment in cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than a removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, trust or profit under the County of Sage Island: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to the Law. 3: Just Cause for Impeachment includes: Treason and Felony. He shall hold his Office during a Term of one Month, and be elected as follows: The Citizens shall appoint by a popular vote, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of Electors, equal to the whole number of Senators in the County of Sage Island: but no Senator or person holding an Office of trust or profit under the County of Sage Island, shall be appointed an Elector. The Electors shall then meet and by majority of written votes elect a person for the Office of the County Commissioner from a list of candidates. 2: The County Commissioner shall receive compensation for his services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the treasury of Sage Island County. 3: Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:- “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of County Commissioner of Sage Island County, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of Sage Island County.” Section 2 1: The County Commissioner shall be Commander in Chief of the Militia when called into the actual service of the County of Sage Island. 2: The County Commissioner shall have the power: To appoint each member of his cabinet; Vice Commissioner, Secretary, Treasurer. To grant reprieves and pardons for offences against Sage Island County, except in cases of Impeachment. To appoint, with advice and consent of the Senate, heads of office of the County of Sage Island. A person shall be elected as Sheriff to head the Sheriff’s Office. This position shall not be appointed by the County Commissioner. To fill up Vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, which shall expire at the end of their next session. Section 3 1: He shall from time to time give to the Senate information of the State of the Union. 2: He shall take care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of Sage Island County. Section 4 1: The County Commissioner, his Cabinet, the Sheriff and all civil Officers of Sage Island County shall be removed from office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Article 3 Judicial Section 1 1: The judicial Power of Sage Island County, shall be vested in one Superior Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Senate may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the Superior and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good behaviour, and shall, receive for their services a compensation, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the treasury of Sage Island County. Section 2 1: The judicial Power shall extend to all cases, in law and equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of Sage Island County, under their Authority. 2: The Trial of all crimes, except in cases of Impeachment, shall be by jury. Nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of Law. Nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. Amendment 6 Rights of Accused in Criminal Prosecutions In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the County wherein the crime shall have been committed, which shall have been previously ascertained by Law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense. Amendment 7 Civil Trials In Suits at common Law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of Sage Island County, than according to the rules of the common Law. Amendment 8 Further Guarantees Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. Amendment 9 Unenumerated Rights The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. Amendment 10 Reserved Powers The Powers not delegated to the County of Sage Island by the Constitution, are reserved to the people.

With all the crime there must be lawyers . There can be straight laced fighting for the cause lawyers and lawyers that can be crooked and help the Mobs. Governemnt- what type of town will this be? Will there be mayors and political aspects of people who keep order? Could be fun!

Hey Guys, Here are a few tips for you if you are looking to create political parties. First start with something you know and adapt game knowledge to it. Usually you can do this by watching movies and a youtube series on politics. Politics for Dummies is a great place to start. Second, Do NOT over expand. A lot of people that try to create political parties want to expand wider and wider. This is a bad thing to do. Start Small. Keep in the back of your mind that politics in games never work out for the best interest of everyone. Not to mention they often fail and fall apart before they can do any good. Third, choose something easy to work with. Do not worry with cabinet members, or secretaries. Keep it small to a number of 3 or less people at the start. Fourth, Do NOT give up. The first moment you let someone else take the reigns of your creation, you have lost the war. Your dream will be gone, and there will be no resurrection of your dead political party. ---------- Q: What political parties work? A: Dictatorships. Explanation: Dictatorships work because they do not rely on other people who can often times be unreliable. Q: Should we attempt an American Congress (American Politics)? A: No. Not only will you fail miserably, you will establish hate for your character. Q: What about any other country's government? A: The only government system I have known to work was a British Parliament. It worked for about 8 months on an Altis Server (It has since shutdown, ie, could not find the name) Essentially they built a voting system for law changes in the game. It worked for a long time considering the nature of servers. Q: Where have you seen a Dictatorship work? A: I've seen Staff on many servers become dictators, or were already dictators. Dictatorship establishes discipline and respect. It's only when you shy back from the dictatorship and allow for more democracy when it fails, and your community fails. Pick something and stick with it. Q: From where do you have your knowledge? A: Come on guys.. Let's face it, we're all Arma 3 life aficionados. All of my knowledge comes from failed systems and servers.

Do you think it would be likely that a civil revolt, revolution, civil war or war of independence would occur in Identity? I think it would be interesting what would happen, especially for the two latter, as separate groups and militias would arise -such as US loyalists and separatists- and fight for power. It'd be also interesting to what caused these events and how the government would deal with them. Political turmoil could also add to the roleplay of the game.

So this is something I found on another area of the forum, but thought it should be posted here. 1. What about having embassies? Since every server will have it's own government, you could have embassies for each on all the fficial servers. i.e., on Server 1 you can find the Server 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc embassies. This would add more jobs, as then as governor, you could appoint ambassdors to all the other servers. 2. With these embassies, you may think, what's the point in these embassies, this is where inter-server trading comes in. If you make something on Server 1, then people in the other Servers can purchase your item at the Server 1 Embassy in their own servers. 3. If not embassies, this could be a use for the airport, having it so that if you take your goods to the airport, people in other servers can then buy them at their own airports.
