Hey fellow Law Enforcers With this topic I'd like to inform and assist you in understanding and creating a police department. It's important that departments are organised and have a structure to ensure officers are appointed to tasks and supervisors ensure tasks are completed. While rank structure is an important part of your department, it's also important to have a good divisional structure. Hopefully at the end of the text you're a bit wiser on how a police department works. We'll start of with Police Ranks. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Hierarchy Staff Officers Chief Of Police - In charge of the department and handles public relations with other departments aswell as controls internal procedures and protocolsDeputy Assistant Chief Of Police - In charge of the department when the Chief of Police is on absence Deputy Chief of Police - In charge of a large part of the department, known as an Office. Example: Office of Operations or Office of Counter Terrorism Command Officers Commander - In charge of a training within the department. Example: Sergeant In Training or Detective In Training Captain - In charge of a precinct or leads all patrols within a certain area and acts as a supervisor to supervisors. Lieutenant - In charge of a larger division and serves as city wide/ patrol wide supervisor. Supervisor Sergeant - In charge of smaller divisions or head of certain aspects within divisions. Alse the first contact point for basic officers Senior Lead Officer - A non commissioned officer who is in training to become either a supervisor or detective.. Investigator Detective In Charge - In charge of a investigation division and will handle day to day requests from lower ranked Detectives. Also in charge of casefiles. Detective - Basic detective who investigates crimes after they happened and observes organised crimes Senior Lead Officer - A non commissioned officer who is in training to become either a supervisor or detective. Non Commissioned Officers Police Officer III - Patrol officer who teaches the new officers the way around the department. Police Officer II - Basic Patrol officer who makes up most of the department. Police Officer I - Newly inducted Police Officers who are in their probationary stage and learn the way of the department. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Hierarcy With the previous mentioned hierarcy the base of your department should be filled. However it is always possible to adjust the ranks towards the need of your department. For example you can create a Senior Sergeant who would be a basic sergeant, but in training to become a Lieutenant. Another example is a Lieutenant I and Lieutenant II. Where the I would ensure larger divisions are kept under control the Lieutenant II would handle a precinct or multiple patrols. Ranks also work hand in had with your organisation. For example if you have 7 divisions it might be wise to have 7 lieutenants or a few lieutenants of the bigger divisions and sergeants of the smaller divisions. It's important to know your department, because some divisions will require more intense handeling than others. Warrants and searches require more knowledge of the penal code and law than a traffic division. For that reason it's better to have a Lieutenant handle the Investigation divisions and a Sergeant the Traffic Division. The higher the rank the more legal and situational knowledge a person must have. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Organization Chart _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Organization Know your department and its needs! It's very important to ensure your department has a wide arrangement of divisions people can join so their day to day tasks are never the same and never boring. A good structure is most needed in the department and every part of it has a person controlling it. Divisions by Sergeants, Large divisions by Lieutenants, Precincts by Captains, Offices by Deputy Chiefs and at the top the Chief of Police. The way a good structure works if that a basic officer will not have to complain to the Chief of Police. If he has a problem he should go to his appointed sergeant. If he can not solve it, the sergeant goes to his superior and so on. Because there are limited amounts of divisions in an Office there will be a good overview of them all. It's important that the division leader reports to the Office leader and the Office leader to the Chief of Police. Ensure to give your Deputy Chief of Police enough power to change his Office by only having to inform the Chief of Police with the changes. This way there is more control and better support for every division and they will know who too contact when there is a problem. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ GENERAL NOTICE: If you have comments or have questions about a certain aspect within the police department, you can always ask it here. I'll try to give a good answer to every question asked. Obviously if your question is important, it will also be added in the topic along with the explanation. If you have certain subjects to add aswell you can always PM me and it will be added into the topic along with credits too your name. This topic is aimed to give a detailed guide on how to make or understand a police department and hopefully the community works with eachother to give tips to other servers. Sorry for possible writing errors

"Mountain Films" Production Company is a film studio, television production company and motion picture distributor. The company was founded by Michael Costa in 1954 in Vinewood, the current head director and the CEO is Duncan Costa. The company moved to Red County with the aim to provide another level of entertainment to the residents of Red County. Since 1954, Mountain Films has distributed various commercially successful films, such as "The Creation of the Mountain Films" (Documentary, 1967), "Last Days of Micah" (Drama, 1992), "Ninja-Jack" (Unfinished version)(Action/Fantasy, 1992), and they're planning to create even more. Another purpose of the company is to find new talents and train them around Red County. The company plans to create colorful films in many genres such as: - Action - Adventure - Comedy - Romance - Drama - Documentaries - Horror - Science Fiction "It's time you to leave your country and move to Roseport!" - Nines Reyes, General Director of Mountain Films, 2011 "We at Mountain Films view ourselves as philanthropists. By recruiting talented actors, we give them an outlet for success! We turn the common rabble into pinnacles of drama and pop culture! In other words, we work to make you famous!" - Michael Costa, 1994 "That thing's huge, dad. Where'd you get it?" Ryan stared in amazement at the huge box his dad was lugging out of the Boxville. He leaped out and landed on his feet, and began walking toward their modest home. "Hard work, kid. Thats where I got this." It would take Duncan guts, strength, and a little bit more than hard work until he finally understood what his dad was saying. The year was 1990. The streets of Dallas, Texas were hip with promotions and kingpins in the film business, and his Ryan's dad was a large part of it, being the CEO of the film production company, which was then known as Volcano Films. Sometimes, Michael Costa would come home tired and frustrated, skipping on dinner and leaving his wife, Helen Rivers, to fend for their child that night. Things changed in 1994, once the two'd gotten married. Not only had Ryan, at age fourteen, began to view himself as an independent man, but the luck of Michael Costa in his film business. He began coming home happier than a sloth in slumber. It became known to us that his films were selling like Coca Cola in the 1930's. With this came certain luxuries; my dad bought not only a new Cadillac, but a bus for all his staff, and actors. One day, Michael had asked Ryan if he wanted to come with him on one of the film sets. Of course he'd done this a hundred times before, but this time, they were going all the way out to Nevada to film in Reno. The trip was splendid, because Ryan met lots of famous actors, the staff were really nice, and he passed through a lot of cities with pretty views. It was thrilling to be going so far away from home, and to be on the set while the movies were being filmed. When they got there, all the actors got off the bus, while the staff went to the back and retrieved the equipment. It took them quite a while to set up, but once the filming began, Ryan, oddly for the first time in his life, began to see the magic, the art of film. His entire life he'd viewed another's work, from the exterior. Looking at movies wasn't a critical thing, just entertainment. But what he saw in the interior was what mattered at this moment. He watched his dad direct the entire thing. He was creating this beautiful kinetic art with nothing but his imagination, stage directions, and a huge camera. It was these moments that sealed the fate of Ryan. In the year of 2000, Ryan's father passed away from an unknown disorder. In his will, he'd left Ryan his camera, money, and keys to the studio as well as the ownership papers, in his name. He'd left Ryan the business of Volcano Films. Not only did Ryan have large shoes to fill, but he had things to change. With his fathers business came the respect and disrespect of the locals. "You're a Costa kid. I know for sure you can pull this off." "Duncan, you're a try-hard with stunning determination. You can reboot the business." "If your father could do it, anyone could!" "I suppose its worth a try. You can pick up where he left off, continue his legacy." __________________________________________________ "You can't pick up where your father started." "Volcano Films is dead. It died along with your father." "Its over, kid. Go find yourself a nice job and try to forget about it." "Just because you're Michael's kid doesn't mean you can be as great as him." Ryan would eventually prove these men wrong. After days of hard work, a paintbrush, and some welding and printing, Ryan had redone his fathers studio, into what is now and will forever be known as Mountain Films. Immediately, he hired some actors and began business, creating his first feature film, "The Light Shines White". As he was the director in this film, he felt a certain power within. He was creating art. And it felt amazing. He knew it was his calling, he knew this was what he was born to do, and what he would die to do. His pleasure was cut short. After the film was done and was sent out into the world, Its reception was not so great. This caused Ryan to be short of the money needed to keep the studio and pay the bills at home. He only had $60,000 left in his bank account, and it would run out in 3 weeks time if he used it for all the bills and utilities. So Ryan withdrew everything out of his bank account, then a week later, filed for bankruptcy. But more than 5 years later, this wouldn't be the end of Mountain films. Requirements for Actors: Talent Requirements for Staff member: Patience and Hardwork Requirements for Extras: Existence Requirements for Cameramen: Camera (Amazing Screenshot 1.1) There will most likely be a green/white Bus and a Boxville wherever shooting is taking place. I have a violent obsession with food and cooking in games and how the food looks. The appearance and the stats of the food. I do not know what is already being a work-in-progress. I don't know if identity is a "survival" type game but it would be nice as it would give food a use and makes it more realistic. Other uses for it would be for health boosts but that seems more skeptical since I think Identity wants their PvP to be more realistic. It would be extremely nice for food to have the possibility to becoming something industrial in this game as well. Mass producing whole wheat flour for example. >You would need a wheat field and farmers to tend the fields. >The farmers would sell their wheat to a industrial factory in which they take the wheat berries and grind them into flour. >The flour is sold to a bakery or a grocery store for consumers to buy. >The bakery makes and sells whole wheat bread, muffins, and other goods. >The goods are sold to the customer to consume so they don't die of starvation. -To transport goods you must pay a truck driver, or truck driving company, or have your own trucks. Careers: Farm Owner, Farmer, Industrial Owner, Bakery Owner, Grocery Store Owner, Truck Driver, Security. Farm Owner: you can toggle to have random players come and pick wheat and they can choose to sell the wheat to a factory and you get a % of the profit or they can buy it from you after picking it for reduced price. OR you can rent out your plot to a player so they can become a farmer themselves. Farmer: When renting a farm or owning one you are permitted to use tools normal civilians cannot to help harvest crops faster. You should not be able to rob farm fields. Industrial Owner: Having more workers in your factory makes the production come out faster but it costs more money to keep it running. You should need a minimum number of workers to run a factory. You need to pay truck drivers to transport your goods to you or do it yourself. Security: Paid to keep crime at bay. Bakery Owner: You can run a bakery by yourself, or hire more people on to produce more goods to sell. You need to pay truck drivers to transport your goods to you or do it yourself. Security: Paid to keep crime at bay. Grocery Store Owner: You can run a store by yourself, you need to pay truck drivers to transport your goods to you or do it yourself. Security: Paid to keep crime at bay. Truck Company: You manage truck drivers. Truck Driver: You complete tasks given from company by moving goods. Security: Paid to keep crime at bay. Security should be a separate division from police. Such as a "Security Agency" which store owners can call to have a new guard on the premises because not all players can play 24/7 this can help aid in reduced crime rate all while the store owner can manage their business while be protected at all times. The guards are paid for their duration and if they don't do their job they can be fired instantly and only get paid for that amount of duration instead. Security would be more for players who don't want to hunt down the bad guys but want to still protect. While police would be for more head on and searching for bad guys and have an obligation to do so. Goods should be packaged and there should be card board factories that also provide boxes that factories also need so they can put their products into these boxes in bulk, then they can be hauled onto trucks individually by truck driver or workers. Multiple people can help to move things onto the truck so it takes less time to load up. For example a good transportation company will bring 20 people with them to load the goods on faster than a company that only brings 1 driver with them. These are all concepts that would be amazing to have implemented into any game.

Ok so i've been here on the forums for a while, now, and i'm starting to see a lot of private security companies being made... its kind of put me at an unnerve since Idont have anyone in my private security company and there are so many other more larger private security companies out there. so I might be changing business ideas if I get a really good idea. trouble is, I dont. Thats where you people come in, would you mind suggesting some business ideas for me to set up? (im not really wanting to join someone elses, its just a thing i have, sorry). (Hey, even if i dont manage to find a job i like the sound of and want to make, im sure that you could put some jobs here for other forum users to take a look at if they want to make a business but dont know what jobs are ideal).

Hello, candidates and fellow concerned citizens. After discussion with the candidates for the Governorship, most have agreed to participate in a debate, in order to discuss their ideas in a public setting, and let the general population get a feel for their candidates and compare one another. I think it's wonderful that the candidates and community want to become so involved in this, and I'll be excited to host or help with this event. If you have ideas about what platform this debate could best be held on (discord, forum post, etc) please, let me know. I want the community, as well as the candidates involved in this, as it'll be a lot of fun, and a nice bit of RP too! If anyone has any suggestions for this event, let me know. If you wish to participate in the debate, also let me know, I don't want anyone coming in last minute. Good luck to all of you candidates! Thanks to the candidates for working this out with me! Edit: We will be holding the debate next weekend, as to gather more details, generate notice, allow the candidates to prepare, and let the people know what they're asking.

Hey guys some of you may know me some of you may not. I run a YouTube channel with 5800 Subscribers at the time I am writing this. I am planning on doing a YouTube series as a police officer following along my journey and perhaps some funny encounters (I will also do other types of videos on the game of course).I am really looking forward to this game as there currently aren't any games where there is a real and good dedicated police force! I hope some of you will be able to join me along in this journey and maybe I'll see some of you on the field! My YouTube channel is TheDynasty in case you were wondering .

I do not come on here much anymore and when i have been on, i have yet to see another club like it so it could mean a possibility to found a club of your own. Good luck to you old chap. Herzog

See, here is what I think you're missing. Identity is a video game. That means the government doesn't need to fund a military, education, social security, welfare etc etc. Most people in the game are going to be fairly rich. ANY form of income tax, is a stupid idea because no one wants money cut out of what they make, and the government doesn't NEED the money to fund anything. Don't create taxes just for the sake of taxes. Create them because you actually need the money to fund something. Edit: The first comment was RP btw. Sorry if you got ticked off for real.

I feel that streamers/youtubers prefer to be the server owner to have control over the server its self. Capable of setting up certain scenarios as they like. Most RP servers have "server events," and would not be capable of having such events if they didn't have the power's they do. Having experience with this, Admin abuse and Owner abuse. . . well it's almost guaranteed. Simply for the fact. . . nobody wants to be embarrassed. I'm not going to go to the extreme of saying that every server owner abuses their power, but the majority of them do. And the only way to combat it, is to stay out of the BS, and don't play with Toxic people. And even if the server owner doesn't abuse their power, there's always one. . . I loved playing Life mod for Arma III, but the community became toxic, and repetitive. Continuing to do the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. . . Well that's just the definition of Insanity.

Hello~ I would like to know how much time we have left to get our passports, before the offer expires. https://www.identityrpg.com/shop/ I would like to get the Speed Demon, but I won't have the money for it until early January. I'm guessing it will expire and be replaced with some revised options once the first module is out, and judging by what I've read on here, it could be early 2017 too. If the offers will end soon, then I guess I'll have to settle for a cheaper option. If anyone here could shed some light on this for me, I would greatly appreciate it. cheers!

"Give me five or ten minutes to go get my car and I would gladly help" Kevin puts the unopened bills into the back pocket of his jeans as he turns to head out the door while grabbing his sunglasses off of his shirt and putting them on. After the short walk, Kevin runs his hand along the hood of his WRX, the water droplets from the rain the night before causing the dark grey paint to glimmer in the sunlight. Kevin slides behind the driver wheel and starts the engine. While the car idles he plugs his phone into the auxiliary cord coming out of the custom stereo and goes through his music library. He eventually decides on Jonny Cash's Hurt and drives off, stopping in front of the apartment building.

Well you need to hurry up because you have until end of February which is 3 weeks away. Then the time will be counting down day by day until they announce the release. Also they said we will see a video on "Gun Mechanics" before the module, which I would say will be around the time they announce the release to spruce things up a bit but really anything could happen.

A way for players to "illegally" change their identity to escape the police, harder to find those same players again. To be a surgeon that does surgery illegally they would have to be in crime and their client would also have to be a criminal. The surgeon would have past files of all the illegal surgeries they've done, so if they are caught their past clients are also caught. Give character customization more strict boundaries for this concept to work, such as having to pay for plastic surgery if you want to change your physical body (not haircuts or changing character body weight) just like the real world but your character has a medical record of what you looked like previously so the police can track you. While doing it "illegally" you do not have that medical record. This would also make "plastic surgeon" a career. Implement it by having players to actually pay for some kind of schooling. Not as long as a 8 year course but a way to limit the amount of players wanting this career; for example it should take at least 1 year and you'd have to pay a lot of in game money. Have a "surgeon" NPC already in game that players can go to so they can change their bodies if needed. When there are "surgeons" in the game just disable the NPC from being able to change a players appearance and have players look for other players that are surgeons. Such as going to a shop that does surgery. This would be interesting because it means Police could access medical files to see if a criminal has changed their appearance if done legally.

According to the developers, making money will be equivalent to making money in real life. You'll have to work a job and get paid just like in real life. They are going for a life simulation so making it as realistic as possible is their goal. It won't be easy but it won't be impossible. However, it will be more difficult to become rich.

Hi all, In the world of Identity I look forward to creating a business that collaborates with other players, to develop and refine their business image. "At Advensis Media Solutions, we pride ourselves in the quality and design of our advertisements, logo design, name and tagline creation. Our design studio is open for customer consultation and also to view our vast portfolio. We cater to all types of business, whether transport, retail, or creative, and is also particularly useful for more 'shady' businesses wishing to create a faux identity." Feel free to contact us in the meantime with any requests and we will get back to you shortly. Once our business begins to grow in game we will certainly be looking for a small number of designers to work with us at AMS, and continue to build a strong company image. Look forward to seeing you there!

I was just thinking about how the housing seems to be designed, and I had an idea: If you are an occupant of a house, you should get a Premium slot in the queue to join the server your house is on. This would help lead to the sense of accomplishment from having access to a house. To clarify, I think the house "occupant" should have the slot, NOT necessarily the homeowner. If the house is rented out to someone, there is not really a need to give the owner a premium slot. This may be something y'all already have in the works, but I thought I'd put it out there just in case.

Please search because this is one of the most common questions asked and answered via the forum and twitter. Answers can be found for many questions in my FAQ Extended and also you should look at the FAQ from the devs too. The developers have said that they have no plans for a console release but they will look into console porting after the full game release for PC; however this is not a promise that there will be a console release but more to look into it.

It's been a busy, eventful and productive month for the Identity team at Asylum! Only a few weeks ago we released our first video showing real in-game content, the player housing system, and Identity has gotten a good bit of much-needed exposure! If you haven't seen the video, visit Identity's YouTube channel. Our programmers, especially Henrik Sonesson, have upgraded our inventory mechanics and created two new important gameplay systems these last weeks. The library which you'll have access to in the Town Square module is now in place and functional. Players can both read public domain classic books in-game, or even write their own and submit them to the library for other players to read. In addition, the NPC shop systems are now in place. When you enter most shops you'll be able to find the items you need on racks or displays around the store. Grab what it is you're looking for and then make your way to the cash register to make the purchase. In some places you can preview the items you're holding even before buying; for example, in a clothing store you can go into a change room. This system even allows for shoplifting some items, although player-crafted or very expensive items cannot be shoplifted on official servers. On the art front, we've brought on new artists and are continuing to build the world you'll be exploring. We've also been focusing on the interiors of buildings and characters. We've gotten our first facial hair assets and are approaching a complete character customization system. An overhaul of character skin and hair has Identity's characters looking incredibly life-like in comparison to other MMORPGs. Next on that list for a re-work is the eyes.

There’s a good chance that there may already be an answer to what you are looking for! Please don’t 1. Troll. Trolling does not contribute to meaningful discussion. 2. Spam. Spamming clutters the forum and makes it difficult to find original content. 3. Flame, or attack others. Insults do not contribute to discussion, and will be removed. 4. Repost Deleted Content. Content that was deleted was removed for a reason, even if the reason is unclear. 5. Demonstrate or perpetuate toxic behavior. A user is considered toxic if they repeatedly make defamatory, threatening, insulting, or otherwise hateful remarks toward other users or staff. Please keep language civil when expressing your opinions. 6. Advertise websites or services unrelated to Identity. We do not sell advertising space on the Identity forums. 7. Cross Post. Cross-posting makes it difficult for users using the search function to find relevant information, and may be considered spam. 8. Ask for Likes. Likes are given to those for contributing useful information in a discussion. 9. Abuse reports. Reporting content with blank or inaccurate report descriptions will hinder a moderator's capacity to help. Please report content that is in violation of the rules, and not simply because you personally dislike another user. 10. Engage rule violators. You may accidentally violate these rules yourself by responding to others that you feel aren’t following these guidelines. 11. Make low-effort posts. Contribute useful information to the discussion, and avoid going off-topic. 12. Discuss Politics/Religion. These subjects are sensitive and may offend others. (There is a small place for fantasy politics within Identity's ecosystem. The Governor position will be able to tweak small settings within the game world, and must compete against others for power. The political systems within Identity are simplified and do not accurately reflect the processes involved with political discourse in the real world. Players may implicitly take inspiration from existing candidates or parties, but must not show any connections to real world politics through the use of logos/symbols, names (of existing leaders, existing parties, or of those within recent history), or slogans. By affiliating your party with a real world political faction, you are bringing such politics into discussion and grabbing the attention of those who recognize it. Real world politics typically invoke a strong emotional response in some viewers and can lead to vehement conflicts extremely quickly.) 13. Create multiple accounts. Only one account per person is authorized, so forum users can be easily identified. Avoiding a ban may result in further permanent action. 14. Operate a shared account. Sharing an account with another user will make conversation difficult should any of the account operators share a difference in opinion. Conflicting statements will impede our ability to help assist any single user on a shared account. Due to this, we request that each account is operated by a single, separate user. 15. Create forum posts that mention specific users in the title. Creating a new topic with the title specifically mentioning another user isn’t conducive to group discussion, especially if the targeted user isn’t comfortable responding in an open format. (For example, don’t make posts like “@usernamehere, why is x and not y?”) If you’re asking a question directly to another user, please do so using the inbox function on the forums. 16. Post Personal Information, or post links containing personal information. Sharing information about others can be harmful to their real-life. 17. Use forum features in unintended ways. Asking for likes, or making a game that incorporates the like/follow buttons artificially inflates user forum stats, making it difficult for other users to determine which content or user is contributing popular content to the site. 18. Discuss Moderator or Administrator actions Publicly. There are often reasons why a decision is made by a moderator or administrator that may be unclear to outside-parties, and off-topic discussion about an admin or moderator decision may be disruptive to a conversation. We politely ask that you trust and respect decisions made by staff. If you have an issue with a specific staff member, please report the matter to a Community Manager. 19. Impersonate Asylum Entertainment Staff or Moderators. When users seek assistance from moderators or Asylum staff, they shouldn't need to worry about encountering the possibility of dealing with an impostor. Always heed the official titles for staff roles on both the forums and discord to help avoid confusion. 20. Intentionally Spread False Information. Spreading rumors you know are falsified and portraying them as fact will only complicate Identity's development and serves to derail the actual constructive criticism offered by other users. Even accidentally giving out false information can be dangerous, so please ask a staff member or reference official statements (Dev Blogs for example). 21. Post or link to illegal, dangerous, offensive or NSFW content. Do not engage in activities that include (but are not limited to) the sharing of sexually explicit content, piracy, malicious code execution (viruses, malware, spyware etc.), gore. Please keep posts pertaining to the M-rated content in Identity reasonable. 22. Create or operate an account with the intention of solely boosting or supporting another user's reputation, poll votes, or opinions. We ask that all users contribute to the forums in ways that don't simply perpetuate someone else's particular viewpoint or account statistics. ***Moderators and staff have the final say on all matters. If you would like to report moderator abuse, contact a Community Manager directly. Creating public threads or posts that question or reference administrative decisions or potential administrative decisions is not permitted.*** ***Freedom of speech rights do not extend to privately owned websites, such as this one.
