Why is everyone so hyped over Town Square?

Recommended Posts

Before I start, I wan't to say that this isn't bashing the townsquare module or anything but I just want to know why everyone is so hyped. Sure, I'm excited too but you guys act like you're going to want to walk around talking to people watching old movies, painting and writing books for more than like a day or two.

So why are you guys so hyped? Are you misinformed about the stuff you'll be able to do? Do you think it's gonna live up to your hype train? (Probably not)

I'm actually not hyped to see what stuff i can do, im hyped to see how the game is, the only thing im waiting for this 1st module is to see how beautiful is the map and the mechanics of walking and stuff, otherwise i dont really care until the game is done :)

The reason why he is likely posting with this question is because the first module is not going to include much and is mainly social stuff etc. and so what is so exciting about socialising in the game for everyone. Well this is what I think he is actually curious about considering the question asked.

This is why little kids shouldn't be able to play the game what so ever. They don't like to socialize in the game they just want to be cops and robbers. The module that comes out is gonna have basic stuff to do it's not gonna just be everyone sitting in a circle doing nothing other then talking to each other. This is also the exact reason I don't come on the forums what so ever because most of you guys are idiots.

I'm just excited to experience some of the cool features of the game that are made. I more or less want to see if this game is what i'm picturing in my head.

And I do agree there needs to be an age limit. Allowing little kids that most likely only ever play call of duty and grand theft auto to play a realistic role playing game is not going to work out. I have over 5000 hours on arma 2/3 life servers and very young immature players. most of the time, ruin the experience.

Yea, I agree about the age limit. Although I'm 15, I consider myself quite mature and professional so I'm picking up the game anyway. I mean, if you check out my company thread, which is in my signature, what immature 15 year old puts something that professional together AND has a decent looking website coming out for the company as well?

But there will always be those little kids that sneak their way into the game and plague the official servers. I think the best servers will be those that you have to get whitelisted to. For example, you send in an application, but even if you are 14-15, the admins should schedule a discord meetup or something to interview you in person and see how mature you really are.

Pretty much exactly what I was going for. Also kind of warning guys not to get too hype about townsquare because it won't be able to do much. I'm not hating on the game or anything, if you check out all of my other 247 posts I'm a very avid supporter of the game.

The only problem is you cannot do Interviews for a game that is as massive for this. Potentially millions of people will play this at the release date, doing interviews is almost impossible.  For the age limit I do understand that some kids are very mature and contribute to the community, for example I was very mature for my age graduating high school with a collage degree in engineering. This also draws in issue though whether or not there needs to be an age limit held as a rule. Yes white listed communities are most definitely going to have an age limit. For the public servers I assume there will be a system in place where they will remove the in mature trolls from the games, but how they are going to do it is going to be very interesting

So I don't want to speak for "everyone" just myself.

I am excited to get hands on with my character!

I will begin to create my Identitiy.

That's it.

Some people are ready to start shooting, or want to start a business already, or explore the whole map, or customize their house. Or car.

I don't really care.

I'm gonna sit back and wait for the devs to do they thing.

That's it.

When TSM is out I will be in there. Like I'm here.

I just want to be part of it and meet and interact with others, mature and immature alike.

Like IRL

It its an RPG after all.

and finally, new ppl gonna jump in on da train all the time, let's all try to get along.

CANT WAIT Y'ALL!!!

No, you don't get the point. There is not many exciting things about socialising and to be over whelmed with hype for such "non-exciting stuff" is a bit over the top to some. It does not mean those individuals don't like socialising, they just don't find it all too exciting like a lot of people here. I am all for everything we will be able to do and please be nice and don't need to insult people.

The devs can't do anything really, They are technically not allowing kids to play because the age rating for the game is an "18". It is the parents of those kids who allow them to play. Also don't forget people are immature in all ages and not just in the younger groups but the older ages too being Adults!!

I know one person who is active in this community who won't/ don't have an age limit on the white-listing but has a recommending age however allowing those Younger ages in if Mature enough.

On public servers, they won't really have rules as it would be to hard to handle / control everyone. They will ban only those hackers/ cheaters/ glitcher's who exploit issues to have an advantage over others. (My opinion partially)

You can't really talk considering you're 13 and why the fuck would I care about my post count? You're obviously the one caring about how many posts you have again showing your immaturity.

I am just hyped to finally SEE something. Although, I wouldn't say hyped. I am not overly excited, I just am anticipating being able to play what I bought. I see your point @Capped, I feel like some people are either misinformed about what they can do or waaaay more excited than they should be.

It's true, everyone is hyped for some reason or another.

I keep saying on the Discord channel for fun "Everyone is so excited for TSM to come out, you'll have it all finished in about 6 to 8 hours and then be looking for more waiting for what's next."

The games you've mentioned (COD, GTA) both have age limits.... Doesn't stop them.

We (the identity community that is hyped about the Town Square module) have been waiting for the Town Square module for a long time and still are as of right now. We just want to see how nice the game looks and how the mechanics work, as well as meet people in-game and make friends and allies.
