Why would it be good for a console release?

Recommended Posts

I see pretty much all the time on twitter, those players wanting Identity for console, But i don't see why they ask it.

First off, consoles don't have a good player amount per server. Identity needs a lot of players on a server to be successful and that is never going to happen on a console with there server sizes.

Identity is about interaction and also the map size is huge and so far I don't see how it will work if other games failed with interaction.

PC is not a master race, it might be able to run more games but it don't make pc gamers any better.

GTA has 24 max players on console, the map is not filled at all. Most places are dead but it has the AI to make up for the emptiness. Identity has little to none AI, and none at all driving around and so the map will be empty near to all the time + the careers, how will you be able to do everything this game offers? 24 players, what if 1 person is wanted and then he is in the middle of nowhere and your a cop, it would be near impossible to catch them. Identity would be great if console could handle everything like 300 players per server, give us an option to join a certain server and player interaction which failed in other places, but the question is would it actually be successful or would it be a downfall?

I would definately play it if the devs could make everything be the same as the pc version work on a console version but as I said above, there is little hope for it to work. (just my opinion).

Please don't argue, just put a reasonable opinion of your thoughts on this.

Also I know it was tasked about before but it turned into a argument. This is purely because i wonder what benefits it would give on console/ which things won't change either. Also I would love it on both but I doubt it would be for one for atleast maybe 2 years after pc release that they would be able to even accomodate it to work on a cnsole.

I guess a lot of console gamers don't know about the differences really, they just see an awesome game and want to play it. I myself was a console gamer until last year and I didn't know anything about the limitations to be honest, all I saw was the graphics and for good graphics consoles are a lot cheaper and you don't need to know anything about computers to get one etc. Also consoles are a thing most young kids go for as they are easy to play to start with, my first console was the original NES playing titles such as Mario, Isolated Warrior and Double Dragon and it was awesome! Lol. Most kids from my generation were brought up with consoles as they were the new thing to have back then, so it's no surprise kids want to join in with their parents and the console continues on.

Some games do have very small slots on console, but there are exceptions, M.A.G. being one of them, that had 256 players at one time, so the potential is there, server wise.

Yeah I actually recently sold my ps4 as it was boring cause I didn't play on it and I have more games on steam. I agree and servers would be needing looking in to as we're gonna need a lot of people to make the economy work and have a stable government.  On consoles there are more trolls and it's just not fun cross platform on rocket league for example you have steam players and ps 4 players and it just no it doesn't work. I'm a pc fan and I'll always will be I grew up with windows xp and gta San andreas.  Maybe one day it will be on consoles but as you said James I don't see it be a stable financial system of players growing the economy

Main issues:

Too many controls for consoles.

Consoles have shitty headsets.

Low server population on consoles.

Me hating on consoles:

1. You mean too many controls to put on console? but it will work for a controller on pc so it will work for console "controls" wise.

2. Headsets have nothing to do with it.

3. Pretty much yes.

4. Could just say everyone sucks xD

Arma 3 also runs with controllers, but they're terrible on Arma, and since this game has even more features , I doubt it will go smoothly for controllers.

Console headsets include microphones, which they use to communicate. Only like 2% of the console gamers have stand alone mics. So, shitty headsets mean shitty audio feed, which is annoying as hell.

I have a Headsey with a mic, and its good (Razer Kraken Chroma) also got a turtle beach for the xbox. its fine though for me.

Also I guess it will be hard for controllers. I will use a steering wheel for driving though :)

OK, back to the topic. Why would it be good for a console release.

I hope more people give opinions because I know that a lot more people did when someone asked if it was going to be on console.

Only issue i see with console is server support, This game, with the map size and all the things you can do would need at least 200+ players... I don't even know if consoles would support such a mass number of players.

Other then that, I can see it being good on console.

Yeah exactly my point why I want to try and stop people tweeting about it until there is a answer if it would be even possible.

My reply to them should have been 'Could you see arma 3 on console? no? then there's your answer' ;D

Ok so we dont know if consoles can support 200 people as its never been done before. The example that is the closest is GTA with 25-30 players now thats in general not a lot and for a map of gta 5 its pretty boring with other people. the Servers in  identity = 300+ and will need to be on at the same time playing together . PCs can handle it for example Minecraft or other games on steam with a lot of people needed to play and its fine but the problem is people keep asking because everyone is on consoles nowadays. but the true reality is  that they are not ready for 300 people doing actions speaking and an economy bascially lots of actions happening. My Point is that we dont know how the consoles will be with 300 people and the controls will be mixed. In general i wouldnt like it to go on consoles cause i hate them myself and there are more trolls and i dont think its worth it but thats up to Paratus thats my opinion and i would like some critism to this if possible Thanks and #PCFTW

Did you not read his post, he stated it that M.A.G has had it at 256 players at one time.

I guess population can be done there but can every control be fitted on a controller. Also there are more trolls on the xbox. Also why did they do max 25 on xbox for GTA? and also how big was that game in general because none of the latest games which would be good has that many players. Also people won't interact with each other and there will be no control over anything because there won't be people moderating players. This game is not really going to work with no player interaction but really will be just another GTA if on console (my opinion).

I think it's a bit unfair to say people won't interact, it depends on the players/teams etc. Some of my good friends I met playing on console, and are still friends with to this day, it's like saying all kids are immature, it's simply not true.

MAG was huge when it come out, won a lot of awards and was actually a really tactical game with huge teams and a lot of communication to win, it really was a lot of fun.

I'm actually met a lot more trolls/unfriendly people on PC to be honest, but I wouldn't go back to console now either.

Its possible. I think if they really wanted to PlayStation could make ample space for it as a lot of games they have offer decent server sizes. Granted each server size is different, I don't see why PlayStation couldn't allow 100-200 players per server should the game get big enough. I mean for planet side 2 the max was 1200. Anyway, I just think it all comes down to the success of the game and the appeal to the general public. If they could get this game to console, actually even on PC this game should challenge GTA. So lets make sure we all support the hell out of this game because well, anything is possible.

Like " MAG was an online multiplayer-only first-person shooter video game developed by Zipper Interactive for the PlayStation 3"

seriously, I don't think a game like it would work because its about interaction, talking/ socialising, also controllers won't be able to support every mechanic in the game and it will lose a lot if they can't fit everything on the controller. Controller has 14 buttons including clicking in the analogue sticks down + 2 more (start and back button). enter a vehicle and exit is (Y), Jump(A), Crouch (B), emotes (D-Pad), interact to NPC's(X), moving around (rotating left analogue stick), looking around (rotating right analogue stick), back button to change from (first and third person views), and a lot more. It might fit but still GTA's controls only just fit and this will have more.

I just don't see it happening but I do not care if they do, I just think its going to be hard for it to work out right.

You must have heard of PlayStation Home? That was all about player interaction and was popular for a while too and with control pads being supported on PC I don't see why it wouldn't work on console, I think if the devs want to make it as big of a success as they can, and its possible to make, they should go at it!

Go beast it go home as we say lol

Nah I never heard of that game MAG either until you mentioned it. I am a xbox player. And only played battlefield, COD, Fifa and GTA, Minecraft when it released also. (mainly played MC on PC). but yeah, I guess it might be possible. But my point is Why can't it be PC only, because the consoles have games which are not on the PC and they are making it specifically for PC. so maybe after 3 years after release they release it for console would make it good and give more time for them to make a console version. Also then we can enjoy it as a pc only game for the first years.
