Player Resting/Sleeping

Recommended Posts

in recent Q&A on youtube with thedynasty, Devs mention that sleeping has no real affect and it isn't a necessity. a suggestion for this area is much like how world of warcraft has a rested XP system for logging out in "rested areas". Depending on how long your logged out for you receive rested XP which basically gives you a bonus 25% XP increase for the duration of the rested XP. maybe DEVS can implement something like this for identity.

There is not such a system for XP. The game won't really have XP levels or such with actions performed.

This is still something that confuses me... why would you not have an exp level system? It shouldn't have any bearing on the game itself, but it could be good for the social aspect (bragging rights, or when talking to people you could know whether or not they're full of knowledge).

Each level up could provide some form of bonus for the player, as in like an extra $100, or items that are typically available might be added to the players vehicle or home just to save them a few $$$.

The developers want newer players to be at the same level as a veteran would be when they join, having it give rewards or unlocking special items will be going against that.

This game is going on realism and a level system giving bonuses and what not, goes against realism. That is for the other MMO's and this game will not change the MMORPG genre if it adds in the things which will make it the same like the rest.

What about stamina? What about those people that run everywhere but don't get faster or are able to run longer periods of time? Will that happen

No, you won't get such perks like in PERP on Gmod. With this sort of thing it could be something that could be added but I don't believe it will be anything still. Everything is always "Subject to change" and might stay the way they are. We will never know until we make that turn down the road.

But perks like that make sense. If you train in real life you get better at doing the thing you trained for, like running. You run around a lot, you run for longer / faster.

Sleeping and training are two separate things. They may or may not add temporary buffs (or remove negative ones) for sleeping. At the moment, there's not much information and it can be subject to change at any time.

I possibly derailed the conversation a bit with my last comment about a leveling system... but I'm sure in the introductory video the dev mentions that while they don't have leveling as a feature, they do have skill progression, which is what would align with YOUKNOWBRO's suggestion.
