  1. So.... Is Identity dead?

A- it doesn't exist & B - it has not launched. We have a module....not a 'game',why is this simple fact so hard for so many of you to grasp?
  2. This ^^^ is why the Town Square was a potentially fatal mistake. This user talks about all of this like it's a full game, and the Town Square was never ever touted as 'a game'. You release a pre-alpha build to the public and you are just asking for trouble, reading these forums is absolute proof of that. NOTHING positive will come from the way this game is being built, and the idea for these 'modules' needs to be scrapped right now & go back to a traditional closed alpha where you could at least get feedback from people who fully realise & understand what it is they're doing.
  3. Just a Quick Disclaimer

Funny lol. One thing you, and in fact most of the people here, utterly fail to either understand or admit is that the 'game' is not coming out. What's being released as the Town Square is not even a beta, it's just a sample of what they hope will be a part of Identity. Once this is out, and reality kicks in, a lot of people around here are going to get awful bored really quickly because their imagination has turned this release into something far far bigger than it's actually going to be.
  4. Basic mistakes have, and are, being made by Asylum simply because they have never done this before. Announcing deadlines is,was, and always will be a huge mistake. Giving out steam keys for a product that is not even available for download is another. It's clear to see they are under a huge amount of pressure from people on a forum who CLEARLY have no interest in seeing a viable product come from all of this, they just want something now!.....me me me me me. FINISH it to YOUR standards, STOP giving out deadlines and the best of luck in your endeavours.
  5. Scope of this game is too large

Time will tell. Certainly Identity has the potential to be something groundbreaking, the question is, will it? For all the Devs good intentions there is a VERY good chance players will ignore the 'cool' stuff, or the novelty will wear off fast, and they'll reach for their guns. While it has the potential to break new ground, it also has the potential to be GTA with frills on. Being a Cop, strictly speaking, should mean serving the community, if you're dealing with a bank job every five minutes then it's just pointless playing, I can shoot guns in games a million times better for PvP than this one will EVER be. Same with being a criminal, surely the main objective of crime is to get away with it? Potential boils down to sensible game play.
  6. It's the ONE thing that has me worried atm. In that video they don't say anything about....''well these are just alpha'' and to be perfectly honest, compared to their surroundings those avi's are poor quality. So hopefully they're not the finished article.
  7. You've been here since the 28th of Feb, every post you've done has either been asking for a refund, calling Asylum scammers, or agitating. Tell me why you deserve anything, because from what I've seen, you've been anything BUT helpful.
  8. Over reacting much?

Was it bad news? well of course it was, but reading these forums you'd think the world had ended, relax, it hasn't. As I've said before, they have made a lot of mistakes thus far, and guess what, it's very likely they'll make some more. The transition from mod makers to pro's has been a rocky one for sure. Lets just be honest for a moment though. Isn't this hysteria all a bit too much? To be fair, Asylum have created quite a lot of it themselves, but even so, these forums read like the domain of a bunch of spoiled five year old kids. 'Wahhhhhhh I want my game'.....seriously? The only real danger here is faced by Asylum themselves, if they fail then they'll have to pay back every penny, not to mention the fact that their reputations will be ruined. All we have to do is be patient, there are much bigger projects, from far bigger developers, that have had a much rougher time than this......it could be worse, we could have invested in Star Citizen lol For now, lets all try to calm down and have a little bit of faith. what was once a very constructive community has turned into something silly, and people who have not invested in Identity come here and read all this....we're not helping, we're just making it worse.
  9. The Devs are smart enough to understand that corrupt cop is just another phrase for wanting to cheat the system in a game. No doubt they'll have them on private servers, but as always, it's gonna take a 100% selfless role player to portray one, and they are few and far between.
  10. Better to be arrested then killed?

That's not true, you don't loose everything when you die.
  11. I think it depends. IF they get the balance right between cops and robbers, & the other aspects of the game, then I think it will be massive. On the other hand, if this turns out to be a crime spree with bells on, then I think it will flop.
  12. Alright, I'm out.

Not in the slightest no. You modded a user interface lol, that's not game development now is it. You're not speculating, not in the slightest, this is the internet in case you didn't notice. People will read the rubbish you write and accept it as gospel, truth is that people like you do more damage to fledgling projects than any amount of alpha video's could ever do. Yes there have been a number of scams involving crowd funded projects, but the powers that be are starting to prosecute these people. Yes there have been quite a lot projects that have failed to make it out of the alpha stage, but that's the chance you take when you back them. But here's the REAL crux of this situation: you could easily have asked for a refund and gone on your way and nobody would have been any the wiser.......but you didn't did you, you had to kick up a fuss, and a fuss that included no evidence of anything other than your obvious total lack of understanding of what making a triple A title involves. Most of us here KNOW we took a chance on this product, most of us KNOW that Asylum have got a lot to learn, most of us KNEW they were a team of modders. I myself have not been shy of being critical in the way that they have handled the public before now, personally I think they made a mistake in bowing to pressure and putting that video out. So do most of us a big favour, get your refund and go blow up someone else's pipe.
  13. Alright, I'm out.

For someone who was 'out of here' you sure do hang around a lot. I'm still waiting for you to say something relevant about game development, anything, just say one tiny thing to make me believe you actually know what you're talking about. I'm with a modding team, we make a mod for Arma 3, just to get an update out for that mod, with a BIGGER team than they have here, took us the best part of twelve months. I was also among the first forty people in the world to see Lord of the Rings Online, when we were first invited into that game it was still in Alpha....most thing's didn't even have textures and there were placeholders everywhere, nobody on the planet would have bought into it if they'd seen it in that state..........there's a good reason game Devs rarely show Alpha footage, and that reason is people just like YOU. All you've written here is guesses, rumors and innuendo, NOTHING founded in actual fact. If, as you profess, Asylum are actually scam artists, then you'd also know, from just a few seconds research, that they would have to pay back every cent and more. If I were them, I'd give you a refund just to stop you bleating.
  14. Alright, I'm out.

So...you supported this for four months, or should it be MONTHS lol. In all honesty I could take the time to point out the gaping holes in all your statements but I think it's obvious that you don't actually have the first clue about game development.
  15. I don't know who told you that you can't get away with murder but it's not true. You can, in fact, 'get away' with any crime in Identity, it'll just require intelligent play.
