  1. The launch

Please read before commenting So the launch happened last night. So what went wrong? The biggest problem I saw while reading through discord and the forums while trying to play the game was Identity was put into a lose, lose position. They had the choice of launching the game knowing it's buggy and unstable or delay it and have people complain and freak out again. By no means am I going to defend what they released and the argument of "They aren't AAA developers" is bad as well, at launch I would expect any game to at least let me open it without the UI being bugged and I have to task manager out of it. I also saw that many people said "They weren't forced to release it" and again I'd argue that they were. If you want examples read the replies people made to the tweets, and look at what happened last time. I very much liked this quote people made the last time it was delayed. "I'm sick and tired of being lied to". Once again I'm not going to defend the launch of Town Square, I do very much feel that the developers got put into a lose lose situation. Now how could this have been avoided? So first off I know how hard it is to make a game, especially a multiplayer one. So I don't think delaying the game would have been the answer sue to the fact that they had people playing and testing it for a while before release, we as a community are the biggest bug finders because what do we like to do? Break games. So if delaying the game wasn't the answer then what is? Well this should have happened a while back, better PR. The developers and this game are so closed off from this community, it is stupid. If you look at the game Ready or Not, that community was promised a beta and a trailer in July, they still haven't gotten the trailer, however the developers are constantly interacting with the community on the sub-reddit. This might not be giving information out, but just being apart of the community and interacting, if you look at that community it's a lot of shit posts but it's not a toxic community like this one has become. The devs should become more transparent and interact with the community more, either that be one a week dev blogs or just talking on the forums. TL;DR: I see the launch as identity was in a lose lose, so they pushed the game. The Devs should have been more open and transparent from the start, and they need to start being transparent and open with us.
  2. Delay announced by Motown

How is this a break in promise? They said it will be updated everyday so if 1 day = 24 hours so if they update it at say 5pm and then they update it at 6pm the next day the tracker will show 1 day ago because 25 hours have passed, but the tracker was still updated that day. Or you can also assume that as soon as 24 hours pass it changes to 1 day ago.
  3. One delay to much

Well looking through the twitch clips and there official twitter and the official FAQ I never see any official dates give prior to November 7th 2016 for the March 21st release. Everything else I see the words "We hope" "Hopefully" "We think" "The ETA (Estimated time of arrival)" and even the fact that they even state "No ETA on town square yet" Would you care to prove me wrong with links? I will give you the benefit of the doubt because on February 29th 2016 they state "@PandaHDLewis There will be a playable preview, called the Town Square in the next few months!" https://clips.twitch.tv/FilthyCrazyCaribouNotLikeThis
  4. One delay to much

estimates and official dates are two different things. An estimate in this case being we hope and a official date being we will.
  5. One delay to much

If I am remembering correctly TS was never officially announced to release last year and the only two dates they have given us have been March 21st and April 23rd. I don't know about you but if you are calling delays being lied to then we as a community have been lied to twice unless you count all the features that they have changed for the better like server size, the animation quality, and other features then I can see your point. I just found your signature to be ironic.
  6. One delay to much

Two delays are just fine, this is not uncommon in game development this includes triple A games. I think people fail to remember is that they announced the game as soon as they started the development process due to the fact that they needed funding. Don't get me wrong I don't like the delay as I have been a supporter of this idea since close to the start. I can see how people get frustrated with these delays but it takes time. With delays comes a better game though, they now have more time to work on the game fix bugs and add more features that may not have been in the game if they pressed go on the intended date. Another thing we have to look at is how much this development team has matured over time. Remember when we never got dev blogs or update? I do. We now have a community manager, they moved into a whole new office space, we get a dev blog every month, along with streams that happen all the time through out the week, and we can now see what they are working on as a tracker has been added to the town square page and it has a link right to it on the front page of the site. With these delays the dev team has seen and acknowledge that people don't like delays, why they didn't give us a date when they said the delay, but they gave us a way to see their progress. I however fail to understand that people who want to play this game as much as they want win the lottery or people who just got on board are turning against it when this dev team has only gotten more transparent with us. This being said I don't think the dev team aren't allowed to be criticized (some of it being deserved) and people can't have their own thoughts about what is going on. I just think people are over reacting. But what do I know.
  7. Dev Blog?

It could just be taking a while to send out to everyone. The last dev blog it took a few extra hours for it to show up in my inbox.
