Here are the stream notes for Identity's twitch stream on January the 30th. Remember - Certain elements are subject to change, especially specific numbers, etc... -- Sorry I haven't done any steam notes for the past 30 days, have been really busy, but hope to start again now so people who can listen to the dev steams have an easier way of viewing them. -- Not much on this one as unfortunately the lead Devs had to be somewhere for half of it. DLC: None really planned, and only will be decided on after full release, as there are a lot of things to add before that. If there is DLC, it will probably just be new Islands that you can possible fly to / take a boat to. Module Language: English only for first module, as they want to get everything out first. In full game, there will definately be many language options, and there will be servers that people will go to depending on how close they are to them geographically. This could mean that there may be servers with their own languages, such as French servers developing. FAQ: FAQ coming soon in discord, for an easier way to find info on the game. FAQ is currently here: http://www.identityrpg.com/community/topic/7-frequently-asked-questions/ New site: in development, with new FAQ and more. In game purchases: You can not purchase in game money with real money, only things you can buy with real money are cosmetics, such as wallpapers for your house. Possible vehicles and apartments may be purchasable, but they will be lower-end ones, not good sports cars etc.... Nothing good will be purchasable, and the Devs are strongly against Pay To Win games. Price of full game: Planned to be around $40-45. The Devs want it to be cheap, but not too cheap so cheaters can keep buying accounts. System Requirements: Optimisation will be a main focus to make sure most people can play it, but with very realistic looking items it may be a bit hard to run. It is too early to say, as a lot of optimisation is still to come, so it’s hard to tell. Possibly GTX970+ Can the community contribute to development?: Not planned to have community help with making textures, and nothing is set in stone, but there could possible be events where people make textures for a contest that could be put in game. Clothing Types: Lots of different clothing types, e.g. baggy, type. In Town Square, there will be mainly generic clothes from modern culture. Past then clothes from different social groups clothing, such as what you would see people wearing in high school, will be implemented. Production of clothes: You can craft clothing and with a corporation you can mass produce clothing, e.g. with company logos on. Clicking on clothes in the inventory will give some info on it, such as who created it / what corporation created it. Clothing Layers: You can wear shirts, jacket, pants, shoes, gloves, 3 accessory slots (rings, necklaces) and a hat simultaneously. There will be outfits that will be the whole clothing slots filled in one. Religious Clothing: Undecided still, as not only could it be used in offensive ways, but it could break immersion, with for example an armed nun robbing a bank. Still undecided and could still be added. Day/Night: Day/Night cycles will be in Town Square Module in March. Jail/Prison Visits: You can try and visit people in jail as jail is not instanced, but prison is so you can not just walk in there. Pardoning: It’s still undecided if governors can pardon someone of their prison sentence. It will be hard to implement due to possible abuse of power. XP: There will be a sort of progression system, where for example if you cut a lot of wood, you can learn to cut wood faster. The game will not implement people having an advantage over other people due to experience, and you won’t have to grind to your friends level to be able to play / do stuff with them. Animations: Animation that require two parties require consent from the other person, e.g. kissing/hugging/ high-five. Marriage: You can get married in game, but it won’t make much of a gameplay difference. Negotiator: This job in the police force won’t be its own job but police can send one in to negotiate, and cops will receive penalties for harming/killing hostages. Self Defence: If someone pulls a gun on you, and you kill them in self-defence, at the moment they haven't got a plan for it, as it’s hard to detect who the gun is aiming at, so its very difficult to tell if it was a murder or self defence. A method will hopefully be added. Healthcare: You will have to pay for doctors, but it won’t ruin you financially. If you can’t afford the fee for a broken leg, you will have to find a way to fix yourself up, or go for a hop. Robbery: When being robbed, there will probably be a pop up window to give the robber the money from your hand, that he is demanding. Skiing: There are snowy mountains, so it can be added but probably on full release. Fishing: Definitely a planned way to get food, and sell fish. noti3, then they have to deliver it:p they are not good with dates indeed, and i doubt we see the gameplay vid this month. If we dont get that in january, will the town square be there on the 21st of march? who knows, might just not arrive at that date. I dont want to be negative about this but fact is they are not good with dates so im really wondering if we will see TSQ in march to be honest.

Please use the search function. Back in October we announced the Module would be released March 21.

Click on "shop" at the top of this page and select a package to buy. *Note that you have to purchase at the bare minimum the $30 dollar package to have access to Module when it is released. The passport which you will get is included with that package, as well as anything over the $30.

Seems the dev's have went through a lot of trouble to make this game as real as possible. To many aspects to point out but 1 that I will point out. You can WORK to make money to purchase even the trim around your windows if you choose to do so. That being said, I cannot in real life take my 1986 Honda Moped into a bike a bike shop and magically turn it into a 1972 Harley Davidson FX Shovelhead or my torn up 501 Levis and turn those into formal pants. The same way I cannot take my old ass 1971 Ford Pinto and magically turn it into a Ferrari. For me, this whole game is about living a life (outside of my own) and WORKING in order to buy things in game. Your job is your choice. Your income is your choice. I will WORK and earn my money and buy the things I need and want. My initial payment for the passport that I bought was it. I will pay no more for anything else in this game. I do not have a magic card in my back pocket for skins or anything else of the sort. Being able to purchase such things (in my opinion) is just plain cheating and nothing more than a way for others to make more money off of the game. If others stop playing because of greed then so be it. Your choice to make the game anyway you want to. I personally would not do so. Keep it real fellas. That's what has attracted so many folks to begin with. *Steps off my soapbox*

“ which is why many games have them nowadays.” Would have to completely disagree on that. 90% of the Games companies (it’s actually not the devs) but shitty companies like EA, Ubisoft that put micro-transactions on for one purpose to make more money, not to improve the game.So we are not seeing micro-transactions now days in many games because it supports to update the game at later date but just to make more and more money. There are games out there that make millions of dollars yet they still have them. And on top of that you have season passes and about 4 versions of games going up to 130$. Its all just a way to milk of money from people. I said 90% because there are still some indie studios and companies that actually put those money towards development. And yes development is expensive, and sure put micro transactions in it for support but not in a way that ruins the progression of the game. Look at Witcher from indie studio had no micro transactions, had content for 200+ hours and they still provided free content after release. There are tons of examples, list may go forever of games that have micro-transactions but had no free content updates at all after release.

March 21st is the Module 1 release date not the video release date.

It's not just about giving an advantage it is also about paying money for a shortcut on the game. The whole point of this game is buying better items, cosmetic and non-cosmetic. So for example you can show off your expensive apartment to show that you really put a lot of time in the game. Not that you just pulled your real life wallet. This can really put off a lot off people, and the devs have to be careful about this. SWBF also never really recovered from the scandal.

you'll have a Sense of Pride and Accomplishment -EA (you'll probably not get op when paying real money in identity)

They can maybe get them in as a cosmetic item, but they most certainly won’t function as cameras ingame
  17. 1 point
Unfortunately not, cameras are too much to network and would decrease server performance.

    I wish you good luck.

Yes I get what you mean and I am not to sure but hopefully the devs have thought about this already as I am sure they have while they have a fix for it. Otherwise just because it is such a good point, I will bring it up in a discussion and see what the solution they will have for it.

Goodmorning citizens! These new screenshots of the Town Square include paint overs and images to add edits and proper realism to the final product so the TS won't essentially look like this on release, but here's some new pictures for you to enjoy as we draw closer to March 21!

Happy Holidays From Asylum! The holidays are upon us, and the team at Asylum begins their short rest! We've been busier than ever, and this coming January is shaping up to be one of our biggest months in a very long time, if not ever. Our expanded team has been working hard on game features beyond the Town Square, and you're finally going to be getting a glimpse of true Identity gameplay very soon in the new year; that's just the start. Keeping it Real Primary systems in Identity such as weapons and vehicles are being developed to operate as realistically as possible. Last week a few of the developers braved the freezing temperatures at a local range to record audio directly from a slew of real firearms in all sorts of conditions. It's very important to us that the weapons in Identity look, sound and react as close to reality as possible. We've even modeled the ballistic physics based on real-world mathematical formulas. Powerful weapons are going to be rare in Identity. Assault weapons, for example, will likely be used in major circumstances. For the most part players will have access to less powerful weaponry; melee, hand guns, hunting rifles, and so on will be the norm. Here it Comes! With the Town Square development moving along, we're not far off from showing the world real Identity gameplay! Like I said up there, January is going to be a big month. For us in the studio, we're excited to get our hands on a few new technology demos that might have a huge impact on Identity! For our fans, January is going to be the month you see the first true world gameplay video. Not only that, but soon after we're looking to release a Town Square trailer! Keep your eyes out on Identity's Twitter and Facebook. The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday (except on this coming week due to holidays). We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet
