It seems like your one problem might not be much of a problem after all. In Identity, it's mostly just low influence (mostly cosmetic) items which cannot be lost. Things like your debit card, your clothing, and so on. Items which don't give you a strength but instead offer convenience. Most other things can indeed be lost. If you die out in the woods because you thought you could fist fight a bear then you might not have lost much, as there's a good chance you could get back to that place before everything despawns. When someone else is around though, they can loot your corpse and take what's dropped. This is mostly an issue of convenience, and we go for a balance of such versus risk. We fully understand that for life to be exciting, death has to be scary. At the same time, why make people go back to their closet and change their outfit over and over again?

"Announcing the release date this month" ... no offense but this has been "announced" multiple times and just delayed. Not to mention release dates are, most of the time, estimates... Now all I see is false hype being created by people who have yet to understand there is barely anything to do in this module. Really makes me worry for the game's development process.

    Yeah, it's sad it's all a scam though #SARCASM

Unlike unsung story, the devs here are actually showing progress screenshots, dev blogs, doing Q &A streams, and just recently got a community manager. The unsung story dev team hasn't done jack squat and left backers in the dust for months and even years, not even mentioning as to what was going on, just your "were making good progress well keep you updated." They couldn't even do updates, which is sad. But nah i hardly see the similarities, one is making progress(taking a while but still) and showing it, while the other went quiet and peaced out, giving it to a random studio.

As a gamer with professional experience in product management, and having worked on a life server in the past, I find it interesting how every new game gets the "It's never going to happen" treatment. Regarding your worries about the development process, if you have never worked in software development or ever had a go at setting up your own altis life server, I encourage you to try it! What you will find is a never ending list of things to implement, bugfix and balance. I worked at it in a team of 3 and you very quickly realize the amount of time it requires to make a product people want to play. I spent many many days working 14 hrs or more on the project. Then I would hop on to an Asylum server and see they added 10 different things and balanced this or that, all on a network of servers to cater to 400 people at a time. Its impressive. Now completely change game engines, learn what its limitations are, change development languages, and all the new math you need to figure out AND get it to work together nicely together with everything else without so much as mistyping a single semicolon. It takes even more time. Honestly the little bit of video and media they have presented seems impressive to me. As far as people get concerned with a lack of constant updates, my best guess is they are too busy working on the backend(as they stated + videos of lines of code aren't as sexy as a pile of drugs and guns) and having to balance that with a need as a company to manage their public relations and put their best foot forward. It all takes time. On the business side, they just hired more people on, rented an office. As someone who has run a company making first to market products, these steps by Asylum certainly DO NOT scream to me, scam artists! What it does seem like, is they are pushing FULL forward to making the game they, and others could see that altis life could be. And as far as the release date for the alpha goes, yea it's hype by them, but they definitely need those that support it to tell their friends and raise more cash $$$. Someone might say, but they raised "800k-1million dollars!" I can't say for Canada, but in most of the US, every employee a company adds, their payroll costs the company like 15-18% more than what you see at face value. So if they now have 10 employees(idk) they might have this year covered but I'm sure they still need more. That's not forgetting, but not getting, into the interpersonal dynamics of running an efficient team while keeping them motivated and on task. Making ANY new product takes a lot of time and balls. Maybe some have done it faster and more that you never hear about quit, not every game is developed by a 1 man wonder, sometimes it's just regular people with passion for an idea. Asylum didn't let me down as a casual on their Arma servers and with the 10 Oct update I don't have any reason to believe why they would now.

Langston Family / Dark Ace Mafia Welcome to the Langston Family, or the Dark Ace Mafia. We have already recruited many men, and have made many connections. We are looking for more loyal men that enjoy the Mafia style role playing. This crime family will control everything from the production of drugs, the dealers on the streets, the weapons trade, smuggling, hijacking, robbery, and whatever else we need to do to get that money. Everything illegal happening on the streets will belong to "us". This means if there is a petty dealer dealing on our streets, well, let’s just say he won't be there for very long without paying some fees. On top of all the crime, and money, we are a family, we support each other in times of need, and stand on the building blocks of loyalty that this family operates on. We will be a Suit Mafia, wear tailored suits, drive nice cars, and we treat everyone with respect, unless we are shown disrespect. Join this family, and have a lot of fun in identity, and make lots of money while doing it. Now a little about me not as a Don, but as a person. I am not the Don that sits in my office all day. I am not the Don that steals from the poor. I am the Man, which spends time helping the community. I give money to the poor, rent properties to people, create opportunity for those who seek it, and am just a very public kind of guy. Am I scared of being public, sure, you never know who wants to hurt you, but living in a room, is not living. I hope to see many of you in the game. Who can join? Anyone, if you like crime style playing, and mafia type scenarios, this is perfect for you. What will we do? We will do all the things a Mafia does. We will control the drug dealing in the towns, with dealers operating under us, giving us a cut of what they make, and we give them more product. We will control illegal gun trading in the world, doing big role play like deals, with other Family's. We will break the legs of anyone trying to take our turf, and if it becomes necessary, use our assets to have them taken care of. This is just a glimpse at what we will do when the full game is out. Climb the ranks of the Mafia family and become high up and powerful, and make a name for you, and your family, on identity. RANKS: First I have to say, ranking up is not about the money you bring in. You will not be ranked up before spending a considerable amount of time in the family, and proving that you deserve to move up the chain through nothing but pure dedication and success. 1st, Associate: You will not be in the family yet, but will role with us and see how things are done, and could be a street dealer, or deliverer for us, etc. Bring in $500 into the family, spend good time with the family, and prove yourself to the family to rank up. 2nd, Soldier or Street man: You will scout the streets, bringing information of people selling anything from guns or drugs to the attention of the family, you will be able to also show other Associates how we work, can be a pick up man for cash, and join the family on missions where we need the numbers. Bring in $2000 into the family, and prove your loyalty to the Langston name to rank up. 3rd, Enforcer: You will be tasked with doing some... shall I say, dirty work. Now don't get ahead of yourself, you’re not a Hitman. You will be an enforcer on the streets, intimidating, and maybe even kidnapping people who disagree with our rules on the streets. You will also be able to take soldiers and associates with you on jobs such as robberies and other various tasks. (All medium level jobs must be cleared with a capo, and high risk with the Don. Bring in $10,000, 1 new recruit, spend lots and lots of time in the family to prove that you deserve this promotion, and complete one mission for the boss to rank up. 4th, Capo: You will be in charge of territories and men. You will have your soldiers and associates, although this does not make it a competition between you and other capos, it is just that you are at the stage of control. You will have more leeway to do jobs and activities of higher caliber. Remember, we are a family, so no matter where we are, we always help each other. The capo can also give his own jobs and assign his own tasks to enforcers or soldiers, if he/she is confident they can get it done. Bring in $15,000 to the family, and 3 new recruits, show you are ready, and complete various tasks for the boss to rank up. 5th, Underboss: This rank will have limited slots. Whether I want 2, 3, or 4 is undecided yet. The Underboss(s) will act as the commanding voice of the family when the Don is away. They can assign major tasks to the capo's to then assign on their men. The Underbosses will be entrusted in handling many meetings with other families, supervising major deals and shipments, to ensure everything runs smoothly. You are the ones with the most experience meaning you make the calls above everyone under you. Special Division 1. Hitman: What I meant to say was special tool. To get to this rank, you must make it to the enforcer rank, and then come to the Don about this... Special job. You will be tasked with many, special assignments to say, clean up messes, or take care of things. You get the idea. This job will be rarely used as i personally do not like a mess, I rather people understand right off the bat, so don't expect much. 2. My men on the inside. People I have in law enforcement, politics, and more. These people will be critical to the longevity of our operations. RULES 1. Respect, 2. RESPECT 3. Loyalty 4. Obey higher ranks 5. Got a problem, don't freak out, come to the Don personally. 6. No Snitching, no talking to cops, civilians, or even your own sweet mother about things we do. 7. All rats will be caught, you won’t last long as a rat, we'll have people watching over everyone, and you will meet our special tool. 8. All money collected on family related jobs, will be split to 70% for those who "collected" the money, and 30% for the family. 9. Family money is not one man’s money, it is the money we use to further our organization, whether that be buying a poor soldier a suit, buying more cars for the family, getting "merchandise and tools" for the family, it all goes to the family, not just one man’s personal pleasure. 10. Steeling from the family is not smart, as this makes you a thief to the family, and that breaks this rule, and rule #3. Not only does the Don himself despise people who steal from the family, but everyone does as you are stealing from everyone, as that money could be spent towards the family and gaining even more money. If you’re short on cash, don's hold back your % on jobs, simply ask someone for a loan, or even the Don himself doesn't mind loaning and even giving money to his family members, because that's what we do. 11. Don't do ambitious jobs or activities on behalf of the family that could jeopardize the family organization without consulting the Don. THIS IS PRIORITY AND FAILURE CAN LEAD TO COMPROMISING THE ORGANIZATION AND WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION. Although on your own time, not in the family, if you want to do illegal things without consulting us, do not use our name, and take your own risk. 12. Along with the roleplay fun of the family, take some time off once in a while and just have fun, try other jobs, it is a new game and if you want to try new things, just take a break, ask the Don. 13. Always have your family's back. 14. As an associate or soldier, before committing any crime at all, ask a superior if it is ok. 15. If you’re caught doing a crime, say it was your individual choice to do what you did and you had no influence from anyone else. Sometimes you just got to eat some dirt to keep your family safe. This will not go unnoticed, as sacrifice, is a quality of a very loyal man and will lead to your recognition. 16. Close members of the Family's won’t be selling drugs, personally delivering illegal shipments, etc. This will be for outsiders that are under our control, and soldiers. This is to keep the crime semi disconnected from the family and helps insure the integrity of our operations. 17. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, are you to discuss plans, activities, operations, etc., with anyone outside of the family. Doing this will make you a RAT, and you know what happens to rats. Please message me if you are interested. Best regards, Kevin Langston

Beginning of a new era Wow, what a month; busy and exciting and full of promise! While the developers have been hard at work getting the Town Square module ready to go, I've been preparing our new office space and interviewing potential Asylum developers. We've raised almost $800,000, allowing us to expand in a big way and bring on loads of new talent. Asylum Entertainment's new home If you read my last dev blog you'll remember that we had just scouted out office space and had narrowed our search to one. Now we have the keys and I've been working hard to get it operational. I never want to see another hex key again! It's almost hard to imagine that we've been working on Identity with a team spread out around the world. The talent of our small team has astonished me. It's exciting to consider how finally working in a formal setting is going to boost productivity. Not only is working in an office such as this going to make it easier to work together, but we've been on a hiring craze. Having sifted through hundreds of applications over the past few weeks and interviewing dozens of skilled individuals, we've selected most new developers to join our team. Our programming manpower is now three times stronger. Finally, after all this time we're now able to afford a full-time community manager. Joining our team at the new office location next week is Identity's community manager, Brandon! You'll be hearing from him very regulary. We're committing to keeping you in constant contact with the development team. Keep an eye on our website as well as social media! Town Square on the horizon! With our new studio starting up next week and the new programming talent coming on-board, our goal of the Town Square release is getting nearer. It's big news: the official Town Square release date will be announced in the month of October. With all of the changes affecting our productivity in such a positive way, we need to see how everyone works together over the next few weeks. This will allow us to give our fans a date with which we can be confident. We've got the Twitch We wanted to give you a glimpse of the game development process and have been streaming on Twitch to show you how it's done. Four hour (or more) long streams have gone live since my last dev blog; keep an eye on Identity's Twitter for future stream announcements. We try to have at least one development stream per week. As a fan of Identity, one of the things you're going to enjoy most is the flurry of videos which will be coming soon showing off the social features of the Town Square. For a simple social module, there's a good bit of fun things to do! New in the Town Square Our lead programmer, Henrik, has been hard at work these last couple of weeks refactoring our housing system to make it more stable and better performing for the Town Square module release. Everything's looking great at this point and he's very excited to get a bunch of new help over the next couple of weeks. With more great talent joining our art team, we're producing assets and new environments at an astonishing pace. Interiors we only hoped to have in Town Square by its release have gone from concept to reality very quickly. Last dev blog I showed you the concept art pieces produced for the police station. The police station was something we didn't expect to be available in the initial Town Square release, but with our art team hard at work we're getting a lot done. Below you'll find the lobby as it is in-game. The police station in Town Square will be a place for you to learn about the policing career, but it will also eventually feature a shooting range for you to test the weapon systems in Identity. Police station lobby in Town Square Our character and clothing team has also been adding a large variety of things to wear in the Town Square. Both clothing and accessories are being added all the time. Note the attention to detail and excellent quality of the clothing pieces in Identity. New sweater clothing What's to come In summary, we've been moving along with Identity's development at a great pace considering the size of our team; however, our team is growing in a big way right now. New developers are selected and some are starting at the new office as early as this coming week. Once the new guys have been oriented and we get an understanding of their work, we're going to be able to analyze the tasks remaining and give you a release date for Town Square. This is a big deal; Town Square isn't all that far off now and we're already preparing and planning for the next module: SWAT. I hoped to release a video showing combat systems already, but most the remaining work for that falls on myself as the other developers are busy with the real systems for Town Square. I've not had much time over these weeks from preparing the office, so that's on hold a bit; my priority is getting the Town Square module into your hands as soon as possible. Because we're getting further along now, and with the added manpower, we're going to soon start releasing small gameplay videos showing off the different aspects of Town Square. Finally, Brandon is joining Asylum as a dedicated full-time community manager! Brandon will be keeping you up to date constantly. Our silent days are soon to be over! -- John VanderZwet Deja Vu! (I've just been in the place before...) Salutations again! This time it's Brandon talking. John's been too busy to update the site, so I'm here to finally add the 10th Developer Blog to the corresponding section of the forums! You've most likely seen this update if you've been active in "The Town Square" section of the site, so I apologize for not having anything new to share in terms of screenshots or stuff like that. D: No need to get the pitchforks out though! I might have a few things to tide you guys over! (Please don't poke me aaa.) Charles (the game developer sitting beside me in the office) is currently in a skype call with another programmer on the team getting the 411 on the current build of Identity. They're walking through some stuff in regards to the Unreal Engine and talking about all sorts of things that are t o t a l l y beyond me. I took some java and C programming courses as electives when I was in University and MAN, I've had a newfound appreciation for coders ever since. I'll see if I can get some tangible information about the specifics of what Charles is working on after the call, because all I see is a mixture of math and player models! In other news, I've been hanging around in the discord, answering questions where I can and seeking advice from the higher-ups when I'm stumped. It's been going quite well actually! There seem to be a lot of fans enthusiastic about seeing more of the office, so I'm going to try and get a picture or two up on the @Identityrpg twitter. Charles has a 3 monitor setup that looks pretty sick, the lucky dog... Oh! Have I mentioned that there's a channel dedicated to posting small WIP models and other treats in the discord? It's #new_media! Check it out when you get a chance! The fiber internet for the office has also finally been installed! Like, completely! No more router issues or anything, I'm typing this up from a wired connection right now! With this, I should be able to join the stream later today so I can finally speak with the other developers. I'm very excited, and I hope to see some of you there! I don't think I'll actually be playing a game (I'm absolutely trash at most shooters but I swear I'm gunna train up for module two), but I'm very interested in getting my voice out there and meeting some of the developers that I haven't had a chance to speak with yet! Thanks for sticking around everyone! I'll get more information to you ASAP! Have a good one! -B

Hello. Some of you may know me, some of you may not. I have very close connections with many members of this community, and over time I have been using those connections to gain information. Information which could lead to the unfortunate dismay of anyone who crosses me. I cannot reveal much, but I have extreme influence over some powerful figures in this community. I have decided to go public with this so I can begin to give and get what I want to anyone I want, not just those who already have worked for me.

With Semi trucks and delivery vans(commercial vehicles) being driven by players trying to get from point A to B with products and illegal items, I was thinking about ways Asylum could add more immersion for a vehicle heavy game and create some unique experiences for both drivers and law enforcement. Abridged Background: Commercial vehicles in the USA and Canada are governed under Federal law. The major points being: The # of hours they can drive in a shift(11hrs US/13 CAN) with a mandatory rest period of 10 hours before they can drive again. The next being the weight. In the USA, a max weight for a truck and trailer is 80,000lbs, where 45,000lbs of that is useful and the truck and empty trailer is something like 35000lbs combined. Last piece is that commercial drivers understand with that CMV license in their pocket, police can basically pull you over whenever, wherever(even bother you in a truck stop), check your bills of lading(whats in the trailer, drug test, and lastly pull you into a weigh station. These weigh stations also have a EZPass transponder system where you can be allowed to pass the station without pulling in, or the officer on duty can turn it off, and all transponders beep and flash a red LED indicating for the driver to pull in. The above is a high level overview of how it works for the sake of conversation. There are all kind of exceptions, and ways drivers work around and within the mentioned rules. To my point, What if Identity had a weigh station. Opposed to the Kavala(& others) checkpoint type system where someone had to be there to have any real meaning. I’m thinking since all of these goods made/purchased by players will be transported by delivery van or truck, with a weigh station, depending on where it was, could create a sense of vunerability for someone running drugs or the like with the risk of having their paperwork and trailer inspected. As far as the weighing goes, I would imagine hauling most goods in Identity will feel pretty weightless in game, so no overweight violation at the scale; but what if a FULLY loaded semi with certain goods(drugs, guns) would trigger a light or signal in view of the officer and they could direct the truck for inspection. So now maybe players sacrifice some profit on a haul because the fines aren’t worth tripping the weight sensor.(Realworld fines can start at $100 and hit over $4000 and more, depending on the officer of course:) And of course, if there is no officer at the weigh station, well then keep rolling. I think it would be something cool that would perhaps give low level police some experience and keep drivers on their toes, whether hauling legal or illegal goods. What does anyone else think?

Aside for the logo you can add on your vehicles (or is it not a feature? I can't recall) I don't think so EDIT: Maybe the mechanics can change the appearance with some assets?

Lets say if i parked my car and walked away from it for a few minutes and came back and found that my car has been stolen or if someone robbed me and stole some valuables in my inventory will there be anything in the game like insurance which will cover me and if not i think this should definitely be added into the game. also if this is added into the game could you work for a insurance company?

No I do not think they are similar at all. You can even go to the developers stream ask them questions. Even see them working on the game at times. Unsung story did none of this. They also still own there game. As the original developers of unsung story sold there game to another developer.

Never claimed this game won't happen. Just want to see what people think is so special about this "release date anouncement".... There have been plenty of "release dates" mentioned. So why is this one so special? I'm glad to see how people are so sensitive on this forum they come to conclusions so fast without reading. P.S. - What I said about people overhyping this release, is people are forgetting that this is a SOCIAL module, which will be VERY basic in terms of gameplay. I am just very worried and stated my opinion on the development process. I didn't even imply that I think this game isn't going to happen. Uninstall that term from your hardcore fanboy heads, because I believe this game will happen and will be great, but alas, only the future can tell.

(Man this RP is dying fast whats up peeps?) A Cargo van stops in the middle of the street of a busy intersection. Luckily it was in the middle of the night so not too many cars were on the road. Matter of fact no-one was on the road but that rats crossing the street. White Mask steps out of the cargo van and makes his way to the back of the van. *knock knock* "Hello is anyone in there that wants to play?" Screams and laughter is heard from inside of the van. White Mask bangs on the van door one more time to get them louder from inside of the van. The van back door swings open as White Mask steps to the side and bows holding the door open for the murders, The Insane, and the Crazies. White Mask stands up as a group of them just stand there looking at him. "Gentleman this is your city now..." He raises his hands up "Go forth become a throne in the side of the PD, become the person who goes bump in the night, Become a MONSTER!" They cheer and yell. One of the patience just snaps and runs towards White Mask screaming. With out even thinking white Mask pulls his pistol from his thigh holster and points it at the crazy patience running towards him. With the squeeze of the trigger he sends three rounds into him. Two in the chest and one right in the head. White Mask sighs and holster his pistol. "Damn it Crazy Lou...I really wanted you to make something of yourself. I really enjoyed your work." White Mask shakes his head and looks back at the group. "Just go be free..." He says in a sad voice. "But you and you" He points to Bob and Tom. "I want you Bob the Butcher and Tom Two Times, to come with me. I got a plan for us." He waves them over and tells them to get into the van. As the group scatters into the darkness. Meanwhile somewhere on the island. "Welcome back ladies and gentleman we are in the 3rd period and your very own Ice Sharks hits the ice. They lead two to Zero." "That's right Jack if the Storm wants to get back into the game they will need to play these last minutes with hard and score early before time runs out." "Oliver they need to score quick and then score again and again. Then play some defense to get the job done." Jack: "The Ice Sharks has been skating real nice and hitting hard making the Storm look like fools but I have a good feeling about this last period." Oliver: "Lets look back at the last two periods and see the highlights." "The Ice Sharks (6-1-1) are off to their best start since going 7-0-1 in 2003-04. The Storm (5-2-0) are on four-game winning streak. The Ice Sharks Goalie made 33 saves in the final two periods. As The Storm made 19 saves So far. The Ice Sharks scored its first goal in game with a slap shot from the left point at 17:48 of the first period. The Ice Sharks checked The Storm forward player along the wall, Then the Ice Sharks picked up the puck and passed back to to another Ice Shark, with that the Ice Sharks made it 2-0 at 15:37 of the second period. The Storm had an 18-5 shot advantage in the second period but could not score on two power plays. And that is your highlights so far now lets get back to the actions as your very own Ice Sharks get ready for the third period." A Cargo Van pulls up the ice arena. Security Guard: "Hey you can't park here!" He moves to the passenger side of the van and knocks on the window "Hey Buddy!" *BAM* shatter glass burst on the side of the passenger side window, and the security guard goes down. White Mask climbs out from the driver side of the van as the back doors of the van opens and two men hop out with a someone tied up and a black hood over their head. White Mask laughs as he hops his way over to the down guard grabbing his radio. "Officer Simmsssssss..Come out and play..." White Mask stands up and makes his way to the front doors of the arena. "Simms there is an officer down...well security guard down at the Ice Sharks Arena. And yes Im here....Im here to get my revenge on you since you Shot me at the bank...So come and get me Simms You have until the third period ends..And if you don't make it by then I will kill your wife.." He laughs over the radio and then clicks it off and tosses behind him kicking the front door open of the arena.

The pledge vehicles can be driven and well any vehicles can be driven without that drivers license, it is just if you get caught then you will get a fine or go jail etc. However to receive a drivers license you will have to take a test (Tutorial) and so it is an automated process. The first release date we'll have will come this month and will be about the 1rst module of Identity, which is equivalent to the first Alpha to be released. Again, the module itself won't come this month, but its release date will.
